Jovit Lasin Baldivino wishes to work with Sarah Geronimo

“Pilipinas Got Talent” (PGT) grand winner Jovit Baldivino said he also wants to work with Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo. The 16-year-old singer told “SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon” that he wants to either perform a duet with Geronimo or do a television series with her.
"Siyempre po sana po ay magka-duet po tayo at magkasama sa isang teleserye," Baldivino said.
Aside from singing, Baldivino bared his dream to act. He even disclosed that he wants to be paired with KC Concepcion.

Dubbed as the next Arnel Pineda, Baldivino also shared his wish to do a duet with the "Journey's" frontman. "Kuya Arnel sana balang araw magka-duet tayo," Baldivino said.

Baldivino was declared the first PGT grand winner during the talent-reality show’s finale Sunday night at the jampacked Araneta Coliseum. The teenager, who sells siomai in Batangas, has topped (48.81%) the overnight text and online votes.

Dance groups Baguio Metamorphosis and Velasco Brothers were hailed runners up.

PGT judge Kris Aquino described Baldivino as ABS-CBN’s next singing superstar after his heartfelt rendition of Queen’s “Too Much Love Will Kill You.”

2008 Miss Universe arrives, hopes to meet Noynoy, Venezuelan Dayana Mendoza, the 2008 Miss Universe and now Smartmatic’s Ambassador for Transparency, arrived here Monday night for a 2-day tour of the country.
Mendoza said she flew here to personally congratulate Filipinos for their successful conduct of the first nationwide automated elections last month.
“I’m very excited to be here. I want to congratulate you guys for the election. I think it was amazing. Also, I’m here to support Smartmatic’s [advocacy for] transparency,” she told ABS-CBN News in an interview shortly

after her arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). She is scheduled to go around Metro Manila during her stay here, and she hopes to meet President-elect Benigno Aquino III.

“I’m trying to get President-elect Aquino to have an appointment with me. Maybe, we can have lunch or coffee. I would love to meet him,” she said, adding:

“Please just take a little bit of your time - I know you’re super busy to say 'hi' to me. Now that I’m in the Philippines. I'd love to meet you.”

She will also be introduced to Gloria Diaz (1969 Miss Universe) and Margie Moran (1973 Miss Universe). Smartmatic President for Asia-Pacific Cesar Flores said Mendoza will “collaborate with some organizations that the 2 [Filipino] beauty queens promote in the Philippines."

Since it is her first time to visit the country, Mendoza said she is excited to learn about Filipino culture. “Trying the food, it’s going to be my first time.…We’re planning to enjoy the Philippines.”

Family, relatives and friends of Jovit Baldivino were ecstatic after the 16-year-old singer was declared the first grand winner of ABS-CBN’s talent-reality show “Pilipinas Got Talent” (PGT). During the show’s finale at the Araneta Coliseum Sunday night, Baldivino’s fellow Batangueños were glued to their television sets.
His relatives and neighbors in Barangay Marilag in Rosario, Batangas were elated that he won. His brother, Joven, said he is happy

because Baldivino’s victory will help their family. Prior to joining PGT, Baldivino, a 4th year high school student, would sell siomai after class to finance his education and help his parents and 4 siblings.

A 16-year-old siomai (steamed dumplings) vendor from Rosario, Batangas became the first champion of the nationwide TV contest Pilipinas Got Talent conducted by Lopez-led media giant ABS-CBN Corp.

The show, which is the local franchise of the Got Talent format originally from Britain, held its glittering grand finals at the jam-packed Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City last Sunday night. Jovit Baldovino received 48.81% of the total votes sent by audiences through text

messaging, winning over 11 other finalists. He won P2 million, and an exclusive one-year talent management contract with ABS-CBN. “First, I would like to thank all the people from Batangas who supported me. To my relatives, and family, and, most of all, to my fans club, Jovitnatics, thank you,” Mr. Baldovino said in Filipino during the live broadcast.

Mr. Baldovino said he intends to use the cash prize to buy a house and lot for his parents. He also plans to save part of the money for his studies.

For his performance at the grand finals, Mr. Baldovino sang Queen’s “Too Much Love Will Kill You.”

The young singer became an Internet sensation overnight when he stunned judges Ai-Ai delas Alas, Kris Aquino and Freddie M. Garcia when he performed Journey’s “Faithfully” during his audition in Batangas.

The audition video was posted in the video-sharing Web site YouTube and already has more than two million hits.

His rendition of Europe’s “Carrie” during the show’s semifinals last month also impressed many TV viewers, leading him to receive a whopping 80% of the total text votes that night. BusinessWorld

ABS-CBN's nationwide talent show "Pilipinas Got Talent" (PGT) is the most talked-about topic on Twitter during the show's final results night on Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum.

The hashtag "Pilipinas Got Talent" was first on Twitter trending topics as of 8:41 p.m., even way ahead of the much-anticipated 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Jovit Lasin Baldivino wins in Two(2) Million Pesos in the ABS-CBN's nationwide talent show "Pilipinas Got Talent" (PGT). Jovit Baldivino wins in Pilipinas Got Talent. Baldivino got 48.81% or almost half of the total votes, besting 11 other finalists. He now gets to take home a whopping P2 million.
Other finalists in PGT's first season include ventriloquist Ruther Urquia,
