In case you didn't know Goody and I placed a bet about Dustin Penner's performance for this season. After consuming several rye during Ben's last visist in October I informed Goody that Penner was going to "light it up" this year. Goody said "Penner blows"! I told Goody that I had been training with Penner all summer and he was destined for big things. Here's some of the conversation we had:

Moose - Penner is awesome Goody! You're just pissed because he's not on the Ducks anymore!

Goody - Penner's overpaid and it isn't gonna do dick all this year.

Moose - Penner is easily going to get 30 goals and 30 assists this year!

Goody - Bullshit! I bet you he doesn't.

Moose - You're on Goody! I betcha the Flames are going to choke down the stretch after Edmonton has one of its worst seasons ever!

Goody- You're on for the Penner bet! Everyone knows the Flames blow and the Oilers will be awesome in 2010/11.

I took some artistic liberties as I don't recall my conversation with Goody that well, but I'm pretty sure that's what was said, especially the thing about the Flames and Oilers. Anyways, I'm going to enjoy my case of Del Sol, although Goody said the limes aren't included.

Ghostbusters - Terrible Role Models?

I just finished watching Ghostbusters and I was surprised by what I saw. The Ghostbusters are chain smokers (with the exception of Egon). They smoke everywhere! Here's a list (gotta love a list)

- Inside Ecto 1
- After nabbing a ghost
-At WORK!
-At the end of the movie during the credits they show Ray Stanz smoking as the name "Dan Akroyd" appears.
-When they save the city at the end of the movie and they show Ecto 1 driving away and you see the passenger and driver with a cigarette out the window.

Not only do they smoke, but they smoke at their place of work. They show a complete disregard for Egon's health and the rules. I new they smoked a lot in movies back in the day, but I didn't think it was that much, or in a movie like Ghostbusters.

I also realized that the ghost at the end was the "Stay Puft" marshmellow man and not the "Stay Puff" marshmellow man. Trina and I headed off to the Bomber game on Saturday afternoon. When we arrived security stoppped Trina and asked to look in her backpack. Trina pulled out a thermos of hot chocolate. Security then proceeded to open the thermos and began sniffing the hot chocolate. However, security was still not convinced and proceeded to drink some of the hot chocolate before they would let her in. Gotta love Bomber security! You can get completely shit-faced, pass out in your seat, puke over the railing, but don't even think about try to get hot chocolate passed security!

After the game we began walking down St. Matthews to Trina's car. It was on St. Matthews where we found a box labelled "free bricks". Lets recap, drunk Bomber fans and free bricks. This will come as no surprise but a game of brick baseball broke out in the far end of the Home Depot parking lot. Some hammered guy was pitching bricks to his buddy who was using a 2" x 4" piece of wood as a bat. Needless to say Trina and I picked up the pace and got the hell out of there!

When the Bomber game ended I went to hockey. The Shockers' won 6-4 and are currently on a 2 game winning streak. After hockey I picked up a free Whopper thanks to the Bomber win. Partridge then picked up Brad and I and we went to Dave's to watch the UFC fight. When the fight ended we went to the Limelight. When we got to the Limelight we actually had to wait in line, which was a first. When we got in we had a few beers and the emcee called "Moose" to the stage. I thought someone may have signed me up without my knowledge. However, I was surprised to see some dude walk on stage. I think Brad was more upset by this then I. Brad commented " that's not f*#king Moose, you're f*#king Moose" and I replied "I know Brad, I know". Little Moose did win some props by singing "This is How We Do It" by Montell Jordan because that's the type of song I would sing, but the similarities ended there. He was wearing tight jeans with a white belt and white shoes. I thought he was one of the lead singers from "Simple Plan". We finished off the evening with a trip to the Sal's.

Ouch, Golf, and Stag!

Well, I should start off by apologizing for not posting latlely. Patrick Kane beat the shit out of me and I am just now beginning to recover from my injuries! In case you haven't heard Patrick Kane (Chicago Blackhawks- All Star) and his cousin beat the shit out of a cabbie in Buffalo over 13 cents. They were upset he didn't have change so they beat the shit out of him.

I've been at the cabin and doing a lot of golfing lately. Todd and Steve-O came out two weeks ago for some golf, rye, and caesar's. Goody came out last week and we headed to Teulon to golf with some buddies from work. Teulon is actually quite a nice course. However, it has the toughest greens out of any course I've played. We were all ready to chuck are putters by the end of the day. This past Friday I headed to Randy's to celebrate Goody's birthday with a few drinks. Bob, Goody, Randy, and I had some rye and headed out to the Scottish Pavillion. It was actually pretty damn good! The band was good and there was a lot of people drinkin and having a good time. We then proceeded to the Limelight for Cherry Pilsner's (they were out of pickles). However, we got there a little too late and couldn't sing. After the Limelight we headed back to Randy's. When we got back to Randy's an impromptu soccer game broke out on Randy's front lawn and Goody rode the neighbours tricycle down the block. It's always an interesting night when rye is involved.

Todd's stag is this weekend so I'm sure there's going to be a lot of stories to tell. Todd's pretty excited about having 30 guys in one place!

Lata

Big Dog back from NYC

Well, it looks like I have a new nickname courtesy of the folks in NYC. On three seperate occasions I was walking in Times Square and I was referred to as " Big Dog". The three individuals in questions were not caucasian. I will list the three occassions below:

1) "yo Big Dog wanna buy my CD it's dope.....awwww come on Big Dog don't be like dat"

2) " Hey Big Dog you wanna go see a comedy show tonight....aw ight, dats coo"

3) "sup Big Dog, wanna buy a picture"

I have to admit that Big Dog had a great time in NYC. It's an awesome city and there is so much to see and do. I'll highlight a few of my favorites:

- taping of Letterman (guests: Jonah Hill and Kelly Clarkson) the studio is actually tiny it just looks big on tv

- Paul McCartney mini-concert on the roof of Letterman's studio

- two shows - "Avenue Q" and "Altar Boys" - both hilarious

- "Top of the Rock" at night - a wicked view of NYC from the top of Rockafellar Plaza which is 65 floors

- Bike ride at Central Park

- Bus Tour of Manhattan and Brooklyn

-Comedy Shows - I watched the "world series" of comedy at Caroline's Comedy club where 2 comics go head to head and the audience votes for the winner. A writer from The Daily Show stopped by to try out some new material and I got heckled by the host.

* Comedy shows are dirt cheap and celebs are always dropping by unannounced. Dave Chapelle and Chris Rock popped in to this one club a few days before I got there to try out new material *

I could go on and on but I would definately recommend checking out NYC if you have a chance. It's actually a lot cheaper to eat, drink, and sleep there then you might think!

Peace out

Big Dog

Golf, golf, golf

I just got back from a mini road trip full of golfing goodness. On Wednesday we drove out to Lac Du Bonet and played Granite Hills. It was an awesome course! However, if you're a beginner it can be challenging. Here are some highlights:

- 12 balls lost
- shots of Jack Daniels
- I made a $1000 for driving the ball 300 yds on the 12th hole. However, I don't think my buddy is going to pay up (my best shot ever)
-hitting a goose ( the ball skipped on the lake twice and then WHAM) *the goose was OK!

We went to play Pinawa the next day. However, we only got one hole in before it started pissing rain and we headed back to Winnipeg. My golf game didn't improve much when I got back to Winnipeg, as I put two consecutive shots in the water on the first hole at Transcona Country Club. I blame my new club. When I was at the driving range on Tuesday I duffed my shot big time and the club head of my driver broke off and flew about 50 yards. The worst part was that the ball was still on the tee!

I'm heading to NYC this Sunday. It's gonna be pretty awesome!

Moose

Numero Uno

Well, school is finally over! I can now concentrate on important things like golfing, beer, and NYC. I'm heading off to NYC from July 12th to 17th with the whole Ritchot crew. It should be a lot of fun. I'm hoping I run into Mark Messier so I can get him to call up Darryll and tell him that he's "brutal". However, if I know Darryll he'd probably fly to NYC the next day and knock Messier out!

I'm Ron Burgundy?
