Oh, by the way the US congress is setting their eyes on Immigration Reform.

Congress appears ready to address long-awaited immigration reform, according to Indianapolis immigration attorneys who carefully monitor reform efforts. The House voted 307 to 114 last week to pass the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Conference Report (HR 2892), which included an amendment to abolish the Widow’s Penalty. The Senate voted 79 to 19 to pass the bill, which President Obama is expected to sign it into law. Once the new law becomes effective, the immigration policy commonly known as the “Widow’s Penalty” will end.

The much awaited Visa Bulletin for December 2009 brings silence to majority of people who are wishing for a current or a jump in Priority Dates. This is of course an anticipated event whereby people have to wait and wait for longer times. As you can see people are terribly asking for a speck of hope coming from the USCIS and DOS.

There is hope for those who wait and for those who cannot wait a greener horizon awaits.

Illegals and US Citizens are Side by Side Looking for a Day Labor Job

The nation is starting to feel some changes as natural and native born US personalities are lining up for a day job. It is usually an illegal’s bastion to find work but at this time there are changes. The citizens are also looking for work in those spots like what happened in Texas.

“For a long time, people have looked at day laborers and said, ‘The problem is the immigrants.’ Now the economy is changing. Now people may see it’s a problem of the labor market, of the rights of workers,” Bernabe said.

The nation is facing serious repercussions on the idea that asylum seekers are creating a media sensation. Indonesia was irked that they yelled back to the Australian government that there country is not a toilet bowl for Sri Lankan Asylum Seekers. Australia on the other hand, are not going to take a lot of risk probably due to terror connections of these boat people.

Now these asylum seekers are threathening to blow up their boat if force to land on some remote island in Indonesian territory.

If There are Votes Then Immigration Bill Will Appear

This is really an important issue for people who are hoping for a way to have an immigration reform. Immigration overhaul is much recommended by politicians and advocates. The system is broken and has a lot of loopholes. Hopefully there should be a way that will fix these loopholes and help prevent the influx of illegals from other countries.

According to the news House Representative are ready to vote for immigration reform once they secure a number of majority of the votes. The bill will not surface if there are less people in the congress that will support it.

Attending a National Association of Hispanic Publications event, Salazar stated that the immigration policy reform bill will be “introduced when there is certainty as to the availability of the necessary votes for it to be approved”.

The countdown begins from November 1 to who knows what date will the DOS will post the US November 2009 Visa Bulletin. Sounds like there are a lot of prayers being cast to the highest to make the priority dates move forward not backwards. It is really a move that will be expected by a lot of people.

Obama Lifts AIDS/HIV Ban

The President now signed the bill that lifts a 22 year ban on people who are seeking an entry on United States that has HIV issues.

“If we want to be the global leader in combating HIV/AIDS, we need to act like it,” Obama said at the White House before signing a bill to extend the Ryan White HIV/AIDS program. Begun in 1990, the program provides medical care, medication and support services to about half a million people, most of them low-income.

The US is one of the countries ending the stigma of people who have AIDS/HIV. This is likely a good thing for people. Anyway it is really a good thing.

The 11 other countries that ban HIV-positive travelers and immigrants are: Armenia, Brunei, Iraq, Libya, Moldova, Oman, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Korea and Sudan, according to the advocacy group Immigration Equality.

2 Stooges: Disguise Malfunction in Iowa Burglary

To break the monotony of issues concerning immigration. I think it is better to read this stuff about an attempted burglary but the suspects are pretty dumb. No masks, no stockings on their head, the only disguise they have are marks from a permanent marker on their faces.

The super duo, its Batman and Robin. The cops are hurting their stomachs because they laugh out loud during the arrest. Cool…
