Tiny application to turn off monitor and lock Windows in single click!

Hi,
I just made a tiny portable Windows program called LockOff in C# to turn off screen display and lock Windows in a single step. It will be useful for laptops without a function key to turn off display using a shortcut key.

The basic motto behind this application is, we won't need display on the screen when we lock our system. Because after locking Windows workstation, we cannot do anything further. So, why wasting power at that time. When we want to go somewhere without shutting down the PC, just double click on the application & it will lock your windows and turn off the display. Your valuable power and data will be saved. This application will not always run in the background & it is completely portable. It works on Windows 7 / 8 / XP / Vista.

(It may need .NET Framework 4.0 installed in your system to run the program)

You can also make a desktop shortcut and assign global hotkey for it. Then we can directly run the program by just pressing a keyboard shortcut. To do it, follow this steps.

1.) Right click on the program icon (LockOff.exe) & create a shortcut.
2.) Then right click on the shortcut and select properties.
3.) Specify a keyboard shortcut and click OK.

Now onwards, if you're going away from the system, please turn off the display and go. It helps to save a lot of energy.

Flugu Playlist Organiser is a free playlist managing tool to copy,cut/move,delete files in your .m3u playlist (no other playlist format is currently supported,will be available soon).

This program is written in java ,so it will run in Linux ,Windows(I have tested this software in both platforms) and other java supporting Operating System.

This is just a simple program I created for my personal use ,so your suggestions are always welcome.

An experience about U++

Search for a good cross platform C++ IDE with an in-built GUI library lead me to the Ultimate++ framework. Here is the review of Ultimate++. On the first site I felt something new and it suits for me. May be because of it's simplicity and dynamic approach which uses different compilers (native compilers) for different OS (Linux & Windows). In Windows, the IDE can work with and compile using GCC, MinGW and Visual C++.

At first I tried to install the application in Linux. But I didn't get a single setup package from their site. The setup is distributed in 3 different files and it is not available for all linux distributions. Then I tried to install the application using these 3 pieces and it didn't work well. My IDE didn't install correctly and my overall setup is not at all working properly. A proper tutorial or instructions to install the program is not available in their site.

Then I shifted to Windows and downloaded their single standalone setup package for Windows. You can download it from here. After the installation, I opened U++ TheIDE & I got a little bit congested window. The IDE will not support auto complete or code suggestion. I opened one of the example from the list and build it. It takes more than 5 minutes for me to compile & build the application. The compiled application has got a nice GUI with a native interface. All the functions are working properly. I used VC++ compiler to build the application.

Overall I didn't get a nice experience with U++. May be it is applicable only in my case. But unfortunately I didn't like it.

Data Structures - Lab Programs' Source Codes in C

Here I'm providing you all the programs I've done in my Data Structures Lab according to my university syllabus. All these programs are done in C language and compiled using GCC. There may be some changes needed to run correctly in Turbo C & C++. It is useful MG University Computer Science students and all other Indian university engineering students. I'm also providing my Data Structures lab record as an example for layout and structure.

Note: For better viewing of programs, open it in Linux text editors or Code Blocks or Dev C++. Opening in notepad may not give correct layout and indentation.

Today I'm going to show you some softwares that are best in their own way, but not too famous.

Best PDF Viewer.
All of you know about Adobe Acrobat Reader. Obviously, it is the most famous PDF Reader from the software giant Adobe. I don't choose it, because it is too slow & heavy for my PC. It takes about 5 minutes to open up & it update itself whenever I connect to internet.
Then comes the Foxit reader. It is the first choice of people when they are looking for a free PDF viewer. It is good, but it's too slow when opening large PDF files. So what is best choice??
PDF-XChange Viewer : This is the best PDF viewer I've ever seen! DOWNLOAD IT from here & use it. It can open even large PDF files within seconds.
If you want to open many ebook formats including epub,djvu,mobi,pdb etc, then use Calibre Ebook Management software. It is free & powerful.

Best Compression Tool for daily use
Most of the common users around the world are using WinZip, which gives very poor compression. Next people's choice is WinRAR. It is better than WinZip & as an archive viewer, it works well. So which one is the best..?
I prefer PeaZip. It gives much better compression & fast execution. It uses 7-zip compression as it's main compression method. But PeaZip's compression ratio is better than default 7-zip GUI application. Because PeaZip uses optimized compression settings in Ultra compression mode.

Best Recovery Tool
Everyone use Recuva or any other recovery tool with good interface. But the most most superb recovery tool didn't have a GUI. It is a command line tool. But the most powerful recovery tool I've ever seen. Use TestDisk to recover lost partitions and it can can also undelete files from FAT, NTFS, exFAT and ext2 filesystem. Use PhotoRec to recover lost files including video, documents and archives from hard disks, CD-ROMs, and lost pictures (thus the Photo Recovery name) from digital camera memory. PhotoRec ignores the file system and goes after the underlying data, so it will still work even if your media's file system has been severely damaged or reformatted. I've recovered files from a 32GB pen drive that is formatted about 5 times after the deletion of my required files. DOWNLOAD IT from here.
Another good tool with an interactive GUI is PassMark OSForensics tool. It is a powerful & feature-rich software.
