When I Feel Frustrated...

There have been a few times during my work week at my day job that I have returned home discouraged, grumpy, stressed or just plain out of sorts. Have you had days like this too? I have the perfect solution for you - it's called Stampin' Therapy and it's no joke either.

Today's video tutorial is actually in two parts due to the length of the video but don't worry, the project is not hard at all. The video shows how to create a Mini Milk Carton container for a friend - perhaps to hold some yummy Valentine treats?

Before I adhered the Whisper White card stock strips, a GREAT use for leftover card stock, I ran the Real Red roof through the Big Shot using the Texturz Plates #4 (#114531) to add some interest to the roof. Isn't it amazing what the Big Shot can do?

Here are two of the cards using the Very Thankful stamp set that you will make to pop into your house at my Houseful of Cards class. The other two cards will be posted tomorrow, so come on back to check them out!

All of you know my commitment to Ronald McDonald House in Chapel Hill and so when I learned how to make these cute house containers I decided to make one to honor Stampin' Up! as one of the national sponsors of this charity.

Here's the Ronald McDonald House I created:

You can't see it very well but I used the Stampin' Up! Backgrounds I texturz plates on the yellow house base - the plate with large polka-dots on it. This is just one idea and if you follow the Blog Tour through each spot you will see other fun ideas for houses.

And here's the best part: you can attend my House of Cards class and learn how to make one of these houses. Love Bandit Card

Today I dusted off my Love Bandit stamp set and created this cute card to mail to one of my customers:

I received the Love Bandit stamp set for FREE at the Manager's dinner at Stampin' Up!s Leadership conference in January and hadn't used it yet (gasp). I decided to make a Valentine using Love Bandit but wanted to point out that you could replace the phrase to make it a birthday card, a get well soon card or a friendship card. And do you recognize the designer series paper? Yes, the paper is from the Merry Moments pack, which is Christmas themed but doesn't have to be! Take a second look at your left over designer series paper and create beyond its original purpose.

The next photo I'm going to scrapbook

This past June my son graduated from high school and to honor his hard work over the past 12 years I decided we should celebrate in style. One place in the world that Sam wanted to visit more than any place else was Japan so I set my target on making that happen. I had been saving up travel miles through my credit card program (and thanks to sales from Stampin' Up!) so I cashed them in for two tickets on this dream trip. I wish I could have captured the shock on Sam's face when he opened up his graduation plane ticket gift - a memory I will never forget.

We had a marvelous time and I took over 300 photos of the fabulous places we visited on our two week trip. Here's just one photo I plan to scrapbook: the Golden Temple.

I have a few choices when considering the scrapbook I will create: a basic scrapbook using paper, accessories and journaling, a My Digital Studio scrapbook done electronically, or a hybrid scrapbook. (See my February customer newsletter, published today, for an article on hybrid scrapbooking)

Whichever choice I make, I can see this photo featured in the center of a scrapbook page using Chocolate Chip and Old Olive with a touch of So Saffron. We have many Asian style stamp sets in the 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog and I can visualize a background using the branch from Embrace Life on page 104:

Open House Blog Tour - coming this week!

I am excited to announce that I will be participating in my first Blog Tour, along with some of my teammates in Stampin' Up!
