I love a good Card Map and in the past week saw one that intrigued me. It's not the kind of layout that I would normally consider and I think it's good to stretch myself in the creative department every once in a while.

Here's the Card Map I spotted:

Pretty cool, right? But then I sat down to create and kind of got lost - does that ever happen to you? To get my card map mojo back I decided to use some of the new Catalog products so here's another sneak peek for you:

This and That Book

I have so many ideas for the pages in my This and That book I should just quit my day job, lol! But since I can't do that just yet I will steal some time here and there to create pages that feature the fun I have in life.

Today's blog post shows another set of pages featuring one sport I love to watch - both live and on TV. Hockey! Yep, being a Canadian girl by birth and by heart, hockey is one sport I love to watch. Last year I decided to splurge on a smaller game pack of season's tickets and Sam and I had a blast going to the games and cheering on the Carolina Hurricanes.

Here's the two-page layout I created:

You know how I got those little referree pics? From a little booklet I got for free at one of the games, designed to help newbies understand all the ref calls during the games. I cut them out and pasted them around the pages to add interest. Fun, right?

I am excited that the This and That journal and coordinating accessories will be back in the brand new Annual Catalog. If you haven't tried "smash-ing" your own memories of fun events in your life, I challenge you to try the This and That idea. It's ok to be messy - that's what life really is!

My Digital Studio: A Work in Progress

Yesterday I started working on a very special project: a My Digital Studio book to highlight our Stampin' Up! Fiji Trip! My son is going off to college this fall and I want him to take a reminder of our amazing trip with him so decided to create an entire scrapbook of our trip before the memories fade.

My Digital Studio offers several different sizes and layouts for scrapbooks - you can even download an entire kit and just drag and drop your photos on each page. My scrapbook will be 11 x 8 1/2 in size - easy to store and doesn't require a lot of photos.

I'll share some of the pages in the coming weeks but for now, here's the front cover (at this point).

I will be adding some kind of element down the left side of the cover but am still deciding what that will look like at this point. The beauty about digital scrapbooking is that I can change elements around on each page, add more or take some away without damaging the page itself.

Paper Pumpkin

This week my May Paper Pumpkin kit should arrive and I can't wait to see the contents. This past weekend I had a few minutes to play with my April Kit, called Seriously. It is a super fun kit that has a cheeky nature designed to bring on a smile.

Here's one of the cards I made:

All the pieces came in the kit except for the blue stars which I punched out as added embellishments.

Double Pocket Tea Bag Holder

Tomorrow night my Anything but a Card Club meets to make three different 3D projects and here's one of them: a Double Pocket Tea Bag Holder!

I have made something like this before but it was much larger and I like this smaller version which uses only one 6x6 piece of designer series paper. Not only will I be showing my Anything but a Card Club how to make this cute project using the retiring Tea Shoppe stamp set, but I will also be making over 20 of them as gifts at the school I work at.

My Digital Studio

I took a ton of photos while in Fiji and sat down last weekend to create a My Digital Studio page using a couple of them.

I had a pretty cool opportunity while in Fiji - 210 demonstrators and family members drove in buses over to the local hospital to spend four hours working on the outside. The hospital had been hit by a cyclone in December, 2012 and it was looking worse for wear. So some of us gardened, some scraped off old paint and repainted, some weeded and cleaned off the main signs. When all was said and done the hospital looked clean and cared for and the staff and patients were so grateful for our efforts.

Here's a page I created using just two of the photos I took that morning:

I feel proud. Proud that I am a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and proud that I had the fortune to participate in making a difference in the lives of the others.

Secret Garden card

This weekend my Raleigh Techniques Club meets and I have three fun cards for them to create, one of which uses the fabulous Secret Garden stamp set.

But the technique isn't using that stamp set, it's showing them the technique of using Washi Tape to create decorative elements on cards!

Here's the Secret Garden card they will create tonight:

Yeppers, you can stamp on Washi Tape! But, after you do so you need to emboss it with clear embossing powder to help it dry and not smear (discovered that one the hard way, lol). Now you may be asking, "what is the pink patterned strip on the card front, I haven't seen that before". And you are quite right. But if you wait, say....three weeks you just might! (wink, wink)

This club will make two more cards using Washi Tape and I promise to post one of them over on my Facebook Business page early next week so check over there if you want another Washi Tape idea.
