These positions begin immediately. Candidates must meet the following requirements:

Must have experience in the taking of surface weather observations.
Must have a current and valid National Weather Service Observer certification or become recertified before starting work. Individuals without a National Weather Service certification but a background in weather observing (i.e. military) will have to acquire the proper certification from National Weather Service before beginning work.
Experience with the Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS) observing system is desirable.
Must be proficient in small computer systems to include Windows operating system, word processing programs and internet.
Currently holding an FAA clearance is desirable.

Duties include:

Performing Meteorological Weather Watch, taking, evaluating, encoding, and disseminating both automated and manual surface weather observations
Augmenting and backup of the Automated Surface Observation System (ASOS) and performing manual observations during ASOS outages.
All observations will be taken in accordance with FAAO 7900.5B.
Operations are 24 hours per day, 7 days per week - Personnel must be willing to work shift-work, to include weekends and holidays.
