Travel Tuesday for 10.21.14: Cascade Mountain Summit, Adirondacks, NY

Traveled: October 2014, Solo

Just a quick shot this week, but I wanted to share an image from my weekend in upstate New York. I was in Lake Placid for a wedding, but extended my trip an extra day so I could get in some hiking and just enjoy this beautiful part of the state. It was well worth it and I had a fabulous day in the mountains. While most people unfamiliar with New England may just think of Manhattan when they hear New York, there is so much more to see! If you get a chance to visit the Adirondacks in the fall, I highly recommend it!

Ansley & Beth: Sneak Peek! | Elope in New York City

Ansley and Beth had booked me for an elopement in New York’s City Hall a few months ago. However, in an exciting change of plans, their home state of North Carolina changed the marriage laws the day before they were set to leave! Thus, they were able to get hitched with their friends and family present in their hometown, and then jet off to NYC for a honeymoon photoshoot instead! Awesome!

Lots more to come. Enjoy NYC and congratulations to you both!

Ashley & Dan: Sneak Peek! | Lake Placid Lodge | Lake Placid Wedding Photographer

You guys, this wedding? It was amazing awesome. I met Ashley and Dan ages ago back when I was living in Vermont and have been looking forward to their wedding ever since. They are two of the coolest people I’ve had the chance to meet and their wedding was perfectly them. A lake front lodge, a hackercraft boat ride around Lake Placid, OWLS!, chocolate, lots of chocolate, and yes, awesome ears. Ashley is an audiologist, and those socks Dan was rocking were the best wedding detail I’ve seen in a long, long time.

Congrats you two, and thank you times a million for having me! Lots more to come soon!

Julia & Phil: Sneak Peek! | Catskills Wedding Photographer | The Inn at West Settlement

Julia and Phil had the most gorgeous fall wedding. Nestled in the valley amongst beautiful fall colors, sunshine, blue sky, and surrounded by family and friends. It was perfect. There was even Irish dancing in a huge field with live musicians, because they’re that awesome!

Congratulations to you both! Lots more to come!

Sonya & Dana: Sneak Peek! | NYC Elopement Photographer | Staten Island Ferry

When I first got the email from Sonya telling me about her and Dana’s plans to elope aboard the Staten Island Ferry, I squealed with delight! I have been waiting for a couple to be up for this adventure, and I LOVE when couples chose somewhere unique for their ceremony location. These two ladies were nothing short of amazing and I had an absolute blast working with them both.

Lots more photos to come, and a heartfelt congratulations to you! Enjoy your time in New York!

Julia & Phil | Brooklyn Engagement Photos | Prospect Park

I had such a fantastic time with Julia and Phil! These guys are such a fun couple and they’re getting hitched these weekend in upstate NY, so lots more photos are on the way soon. For their engagement session we decided to meet up in Grand Army Plaza right by Prospect Park and then stroll through the neighborhood from there. Park Slope is one of my favorite areas in the city, so it was lovely just to wander through the brownstone streets, snap some fun photos, and basically have a ball whole time. We finished up hanging out on the rooftop of their apartment, making silly muppet faces and enjoying the skyline views.

Thanks so much to Julia and Phil for being up for my crazy ideas. So excited to hang out with you this weekend in Roxbury!

Julia & Mat | New York Elopement Photographer | Central Park Bow Bridge

admin — Wed, 08 Oct 2014 04:32:15 +0000

Julia and Mat came all the way from Australia to elope in Central Park on a beautiful summer day! After their ceremony on the Bow Bridge, we wandered through Bethesda Terrace and the Mall for photos, and then hopped in a cab for cocktails at the stunning Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Talk about a killer view!

Thanks so much for having me! Best wishes and congratulations to you both!
