Calling all climbers! We will be utilizing the outdoor steps and pairing the work out with dumb bells throughout this class. We will be sculpting your legs and glutes to the limit. This class will consist of interval stairclimbing starting with one set and working your way up to 15 sets within the hour! During the stair rest, you will be on the floor mat targeting that core and more! Your overall fitness is enhanced by building strength, burning calories and boosting your cardiovascular one step at a time. Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with Las flores de mi país, on view at the Arsenal Gallery in Central Park. Presented by NYC Parks’ Latino Society, in collaboration with NYC Parks’ Arts & Antiquities division, the exhibition features artworks by more than 20 artists that explore interpretations of Latinx culture through imagery of native flora. The works use botanicals as inspiration, symbols, a medium to create designs, a historical reference, and in textile design that reflects a culture or tradition.

Las flores de mi país (“The Flowers of my Country”) is presented by NYC Parks’ Latino Society. A virtual exhibition tour and discussion will be co-hosted with GreenThumb on Tuesday September 27 at 6 p.m. Please RSVP to attend.

A new mosaic exhibit by multimedia artist Kristi Pfister premiers at the historic Rutan-Becket House gallery as part of the 2022 Open House New York weekend at Conference House Park.

Dorothy Day: Iconic Activist is an exhibit of mosaics about Dorothy Day. She is a global icon for social justice, and a local icon of Staten Island where she lived in a beach bungalow on the water’s edge. In Pfister’s creations, she combines imagery associated with Day and fuses them with motifs that are part of the inherited vocabulary of mosaic design. The mosaics interlace patterned symbols with quiet undulating space. They explore Day’s duality of what is “seen" - her lifetime of radical actions with what is “unseen” - her spiritual self.

This structured drop-in program is for children ages 6-12. Each day of the program is a different activity. Tuesdays is art and a different projects will be made using different mediums to take home. Wednesdays will be S.T.E.A.M, Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics are all the components that this program is based on. Each week a fun project will be made using one of the components in STEAM to keep learning minds in constant motion, Thursday's will be This part of youth club will be dedicated to children's sports.
