There are two time sensitive goodies that were supposed to have hit in time for the event last time for y'all lovely NY ladies, but the event had to be postponed for numerous reasons. The timing happened to be disastrous, so I didn't get past sending a quick e-mail about the rain check to the invitees.

Here's another installment of Company Spotlight with the Bloggin' Beauts... I'm getting good at these aren't I? :)

Today we have Purus Cosmetics. This is one of those stories that I'm happy to say I've heard personally. Usually, you pick up a magazine or turn on the tv and hear about a young entrepreneur and wonder why you couldn't be so resourceful or money-savvy when you were younger. But lo and behold, it is one of our own Bloggin' Beauts! (I personally am also heavily envious of her html savvyness, but that's for my personal well of wishes...)

The Bloggin' Beauts is meant to be more than just beauty, we want to include the fashion and beauty bloggers of NY to mingle and find new products.

Last event, I hauled magazines from all over the world and of all varieties. This time around, we are lucky to have Fashion Magazine - the leading Canadian fashion magazine join us in the event, and school us in fashion outside of the US.

A Little Behind...

When I picked up the phone to confirm Miss Jackie for our event, I heard someone say "What's Pimpin'?" ... My crazy behind was thrown wayyy off track and I asked for Jackie. To which the response was: "Ohhh I'm sorry, I thought you were my nephew - I was trying to act young!" That's when I knew she was a perfect match.

Glamour magazine featured our feisty gal Jackie Saulsbery in their August 2009 issue. Who's Jackie? Miss Jackie is the hot mama who was a godsend (or rather a Zoyasend) to the Bloggin' Beauts for the July event. :)

We all got spoiled with 3free manis from Zoya and we got to know Miss Jackie. What did we learn? She sure has professionalism down pat! No matter how much we all poked an prodded she would not give up a single name of a client who was... well... unpleasant. You know what? Judging by her you'd think such people didn't exist!

NYC Bloggin' Beauts Volume 2: Fall 2009

Hi Everybody!

Following on the heels of a successful Bloggin' Beauts get together, I present to you the Fall Get Together - Bloggin' Beauts Volume 2!

Some of you had the chance to experience the event last time, and I would love to continue meeting up and networking with New York blogging divas as well as finding out about tried and true products along with new lines to the market or just my product junkie eyes. I have to admit, it's also one of the many blessings we get from living in the metro area that we are so close to and get to meet so many PR reps and companies face to face.

So without further ado, here are the deets:

The event will be Sunday, September 20, 2009. We will meet at 2pm and rejoice as long as we want, but not past 8pm :).
Location as always is TBA. I am looking for a new and nifty location, but if not, we will have to recycle and reuse the last one. A lot of you were happy with it last time, so two for two won't be so bad.
To cover costs and food, the entrance fee will be $15, this is a drop from the first time. I do ask that you send the money before hand (Paypal) and guarantee your money back if you cannot make it.
To promote the event, all Bloggin' Beauts that made it to the past event are eligible to choose a 'giveaway' product of their choice by referring a Blogger who attends.
Best for last? Of course there will be goodie bags and giveaways!

Have you tried Thevi yet? A new brand in the cosmetics market, Thevi (IMO) is doing everything right to secure a place in the history of makeup. Just because we're not a part of 'Desperate Housewives' doesn't we mean we can't try to at least get their stunning styles... and no, I don't mean Edie's revealing lingerie scenes..

Eva Longoria's character Gaby may not be the most generous woman on Wisteria Lane, but she sure knows how to please a crowd. Here's our step-by-step THEVI Guide to a wonderful Eva Longoria inspired look with only 3 makeup THEVI products! [Youtube Tutorial of this look available]

1. Lightly dust each eyelid using the THEVI Oatmeal Eyeshadow with your shadow brush. Remember to cover all of your eyelid, all the way up to the bottom of your eyebrows for that extra lighting effect which really gives your entire look an extra little something.

2. Then using the same shadow brush, gently gather some color with the same shadow brush of your THEVI Dark Brown Matte Eyeshadow.

The beauty of using the same brush throughout your makeup routine is to assist you in the blending process.

Gently apply the color, from your lash line, in upward motions towards your browline. As you approach your eyebrows, the intensity of the color should lessen.

A helpful hint from our THEVI Makeup Artists is to use pressed powder to cover any mistakes, never try to remove the eyecolor!

3.Finally, use your THEVI Mocha Mate Duo for the perfect contouring helper for some beautiful model cheek bones.

Hey y'all!

This is Miss Yaya here, from MyOwnJudge. On the heels of a very successful Bloggin' Beauts get-together, I figured it'd be smart to separate the blogs a bit.

NYC Bloggin' Beauts (NYCBB) is all about us NYC (& surrounding areas) Bloggin' Beauts and this will serve as a great way to communicate and set up future events.

Be patient with me as I get everything together and snazzy up this lil' ole' blog, but in the meantime, stay tuned for a recap of the event that just happened on July 25th!
