So I've purchased this palette when it initially came out and have used it a couple of times. For some reason I have mixed feelings about it. It seems like the shadows are a bit to chalky, but after it's applied to my eyes it looks nice. Overall, I do like it, it's just not at the top of my favorites list. Of course, the pictures are provided in both flash and non-flash.

NOTD: SEPHORA by OPI - Under My Trench Coat

This is what I'm wearing right now, and I absolutely love it! This is "Under My Trench Coat", described as an "opaque light grey khaki with metallic gold". It's got just about all the characteristics that I love in a nail color all wrapped in one (with the exception of being pink lol)! This one is perfect for the fall. Pretty soon I'm going to have to break out my "You Don't Know Jacques" - my favorite fall/winter polish.

Inglot NYC - New Palette

I was in the Times Square area again this past weekend and I could not resist from buying something! I feel like every time I'm in the area, I just need to buy something! =) Plus my co-workers from California flew in for business so I took them site-seeing in the area and Inglot just happened to be open! ;)

I actually prefer the magnetic palettes that Inglot sells and I also prefer when the shadows are in a square pan. This Pro 5 palette originally consisted of 5 new shades. The black shadow I opted to not get since I already have so many different black shades (I swapped the black for the grayish purple color on the far right). The other new shade which I didn't get (because it was sold out) looked closes to the 3rd shade, right smack in the middle. I asked her to give me a shade that was the closest to the one that was sold out and that's what we came up with! I probably should've asked for the shade #'s of the ones which were sold out, but of course - I forgot. Without hesitation I purchased this because mainly they were new shades (and actually really nice too)...then I got home and realized I did exactly what I have been trying to get away from - buying "neutral" palettes. Oh well, at least I did get use out of it two times this week since I purchased. So that's a good sign so far! lol This palette also has a generously wide mirror - it also has a space for a brush, which of course was sold separately so I did not get it (since I don't need it).

Colors from left to right (I tried to describe colors as best as I could):

Pro-5 Freedom e/s - Pearl # 421 (new shade) - copper/bronze
Freedom System e/s - D.S. # 463 (new shade) - like a sparkly pale gold, great for highlighting!
Freedom System e/s - Matte # 350 - like an off white or eggshell color
Pro-5 Freedom e/s - D.S. # 462 (new shade) - like a light sparkly taupe/beige & purple color
Freedom System e/s - D.S. # 460 - like a sparkly silver & purple mixed color

How funny...as I was checking the shadow #'s, I noticed that Inglot actually provides an expiration date! HA

My shadows have a product date of 09.2009 and an expiry date of 09.2012. Hope I use 'em up by then! lol

Took several pictures with natural lighting, flash vs no flash.

For size reference, these are the exact same size of a MAC e/s pro palette refill pan - but the Inglot shadow has a slightly greater fill weight at 1.8g. MAC's fill weight is 1.5g. Not like you could actually notice this, but just figured I would share that fun fact with you! ;)

NOTD: SEPHORA by OPI - Casting Call

I've been wearing this color for the past few weeks. I have been loving it. And just like OPI, SEPHORA by OPI offers the same exact quality!!! I mean, it technically is OPI! =)

This color is Casting Call. It's described as an opaque cool pink beige color. This picture doesn't do it justice (as I believe) - I think it kind of washes the color out.

This was my first purchase of a SEPHORA by OPI polish, and there will be many more to come.

UD♥NYC - Urban Decay Book of Shadows vol. III

I had the pleasure of visiting Sephora in Times Square, NYC on August 28th to pick up this palette. I had to wait on line, which wasn't so bad (only for about an hour).

Here are all the goodies I got:

Here is a swatch of the 2nd 24/7 glide on eye pencil that comes in the palette in "Ransom". It's a bright iridescent purple...really pretty. Obviously we all know what Zero looks like by now.

If you were one of the first 200, you also got a free shirt. But I think they had more than just 200 shirts because I saw all the extra boxes! lol

I also got a ton of free samples! They were handed out on line and inside. I of course also snatched up extras! hahahaha Hey...for the amount of money I spent I think I'm entitled to it! LOL

The 2 e/s Stardust samples I got are "Retrograde" which is a dark purple w/iridescent sparkle . I didn't think this one was pigmented enough (and definitely did not look dark) - to my liking. Compared to all the other shadows that come in UD's palettes, this one doesn't even come close in quality. (In my opinion) I'm not too sure that I would buy it if I had the choice to.

I also got a sample of the 24/7 glide-on eye pencil in "1999". It's a beautiful plum color with gold glitter in it.

I also got a couple of samples of the Lip Junkie Lip Gloss in "Wallflower" which is a nude creamy-pink. It does exactly what it is says it does!!! It's super shiny (as you can see), it is NOT sticky at all, and has a non-irritating limp plumper in it! LOVE THIS!!! (My lips are already full...not like they need to be plumped anymore though! hahaha) Just because of all the other characteristics, I will def. be purchasing their full sized product of this!

Of course, because I shop a whole lot I got my 100 point perk, the Bad gal Plum mascara from Benefit. (I already got the 500 point perk a week or two ago, the Smashbox gift set lol). I can't wait to use this one.

And my impulse item while I was in line.... Viktor & Rolf's travel kit of Flowerbomb. I already have the full set at home. This is my all time favorite!!! When I first bought this perfume you could only find it at like a Saks Fifth or Bloomingdale's because it's considered a "luxury" perfume (not sure what that means lol) but now you can find it anywhere!!

NOTD: OPI - Lucerne-Tainly Look Marvelous

Lucerne-Tainly Look Marvelous, from OPI’s 2010 Fall Swiss collection, is even better than I had initially expected it to be! I mean it has one of my favorite things in it - glitter!!! You could go light with just one coat and it looks like silver with glitter, or you could apply two coats (which is what I prefer, and as shown above) and it looks like gunmetal with a ton of glitter! hahaha I also love the nice smooth finish considering how much glitter this baby has-it doesn't feel "gritty" or anything. This is the perfect fall/winter and partying shade!! I've also been meaning to get my hands on Glitzerland, but my local Ulta was sold out before I had a chance to get it! =(

One downside I would say is that it's a bit hard to remove. I guess because of all that glitter.

Physicians Formula - POP! Collection

I am so excited!! I just received my package of Physicians Formula goodies from the POP! Collection over this past weekend! I have always been a huge fan of their bronzers...and now I will be a fan of this collection.

Take a look...

In total, there are 4 of what I like to call "total complete looks" created to enhance your eye colors.

1. Enhance Hazel Eyes

2. Enhance Green Eyes

3. Enhance Blue Eyes

4. Enhance Brown Eyes

The shadows are called "Shimmer Strips", custom eye enhancing shadow & liners. The packaging is neat - great for travel size and extremely informative! Maybe next time they could consider shortening some of the names so that they are easy to remember. The small little smudge tip applicator you could do without. The color combinations are endless. We all know that we could use shadows as liners. They also indicate that these shadows can be worn wet or dry, which quite frankly the same thing can be done pretty much with any shadow by "foiling". I quickly swatched a few of the shadows from the Hazel collection. All shadows can be worn "natural", "playful", or "dramatic".

I do have to say I was incredibly impressed at how pigmented they were!!! Here is a picture:

The Custom Eye Enhancing Gel CreamLiners are interesting. I love how they come stacked in a tiny little tower - again, convenient for travel. I didn't really use the gel liners yet so I can't comment on the payoff or anything, but I can say that I like them just by looking at them. Some of them actually have colored glitter in them! How exciting!! I personally like the little brush that's included for use. I think it's actually pretty good-well it feels nice. I would take it with me on the go.

Here are the colors (described in order from top to bottom)

1. In the Hazel collection : Taupe, Pink, Black + Pink Shimmer

2. In the Green collection: Green, Amethyst, Black + Green Shimmer

3. In the Blue collection: Blue, Brown, Black + Blue Shimmer

4. In the Brown collection: Espresso, Purple, Black + Purple Shimmer

Now, the "2-in-1 Brightening" mascaras are also really nice! Also with a lot of different color combinations! Their pitch is that they provide high-performance 24-hour wear. They say: clump-free, flake-free and smudge-free formula provides perfected lashes for 24-hour wear. I haven't used this product yet, so I can't confirm- but I can't wait to use it and decide. The mascaras are double ended. One side features a dramatic jumbo brush that's in black. The other side features an eye enhancing brush in a color than can be layered with the black to create a dramatic look. Here are the color combinations:

1. In the Hazel collection : Black, Pink, Black + Pink

2. In the Green collection: Black, Green, Black + Green

3. In the Brown collection: Black, Purple, Black + Purple

4. In the Blue collection: Black, Blue, Black + Blue

I also got a couple of felt-tip liquid eyeliners. One in Ultra Black and one in Dark Brown. I'm not a big fan of felt tip eyeliners, but I'm interested how these apply and last. They say the formula provides long lasting wear, but it's not waterproof.

I also got 2 "concealer twins" - cute wording! lol One's in Green/Light which is a 2-in-1 correct & cover cream concealer. The green color-corrects red blemishes and scars. The light color covers green and any minor skin imperfections.

The other 2-in-1 concealer is in Yellow/Light. The yellow end color-corrects bluish under-eye circles and the light end covers yellow and minor skin imperfections as well. Too bad for one thing - I am far from having a "light" complexion, so that won't work for me.

The concealers are SPF 10!

Honestly, the packaging is extremely informative that it's fool-proof for application! See for yourself.

The important stuff to keep in mind: these products are hypoallergenic, fragrance free, dermatologist approved, safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers, and paraben free!!! Good stuff!

Bottom line - I really like these products and I can't wait to use them.

Inglot NYC Haul & Review

So I went to Inglot NYC in Times Square a little while ago. I think it was last month, in July. And I've finally got a chance to edit my video and get the pictures off my camera to do this post! =)

I really like the set up of the store. It's really nice and I will definitely have more purchases from there in the near future! ;)

I love their freedom system! I can't wait to get more shadows. I just need to use it more often! lol

The shimmer shadows swatch so beautifully!!! They are so pigmented. I've used the black shimmer e/s as an eyeliner and it looked awesome!!!!

Next time I'm at Inglot I will pick up a sample of a different pigment, because I def. DID NOT like this one.

Although I seemed like I complained a bit in my video about the nail polish - I don't think it would stop me from buying another polish from Inglot. I do love the application of the polish, but I don't like the fact that it peels after 2 days. Maybe if I only apply 1 coat of base/nail hardener that should do the trick! ;)

I have to say that I've been loving Essie's Lapis of Luxury, from the 2010 Resort Collection! I have no other color like this in my nail polish collection. I think it's a really pretty color. Just seeing the color in the bottle really made me want to get this. Helps me whenever I want to get out of my "pink" nail color comfort zone! hahaha

Update & Upcoming Giveaway

Hey everyone! So I wanted to take a quick moment and update you all on my status, or shall I say: "what's been my deal"?!

Well...lately I've been a bit busy and overwhelmed with some stuff that has been going on in my personal life. July has not been the most eventful for me. I've finally recovered from a staph infection on my leg which was caused by me accidentally cutting myself while shaving! I don't want to give TMI, but why I say this is because, ladies, you always need to be careful when you're shaving! That's all I have to say about that.

Also, my puppy Dolce (who is only 2) has had kidney disease. Lately her health has been deteriorating a bit and needless to say, I've been upset about this and have not felt like posting/blogging/or doing videos at all. I've just been spending a lot of time with her. A couple weeks back, after receiving her blood test results, we now know that not only does she have kidney disease which has gotten progressively worst, she has anemia and can't produce enough red blood cells. Since last year, we've been (my husband and I) administering dialysis for her every other day, I have to give her medication daily and now we have to give her hormone shots to help her produce red blood cells. But at times she's so upbeat and lively that she doesn't seem like she's sick. We just try to keep her as comfy as possible! =)

So needless to say....I've been extremely bummed out.

I have a couple of posts that I am working on so I'm going to try to pick it up a bit. And I have a few videos that I need to edit and get up on YouTube! Some reviews and swatches and stuff.
ALSO, I have a giveaway coming up! It's going to be a good one! I recorded the video yesterday and I will be posting very soon about it!

There is one lovely lady out there that knows what it is! ;) You know who you are, and she can tell you it's a good one!

Its about time for another Glamour Doll "Customer Appreciation" sale!! If you have been following and using GD for a while, you know that we have a customer appreciation sale about 2 times a year. Ever since we lowered our prices in Dec/Jan, we haven't had one so its about time to offer you an awesome deal!

Glamour Doll "started" in November of 2008. Our website was officially launched in January of 2009 and since then, we have successfully process and shipped almost 4,000 orders. Without your continued support, we wouldn't be where we are today!

There have been many learning experiences with processing, shipping and blending and we are happy that you have been here to help us through these. As a thank you, we are offering 50% off full jars, starting on July 30th (Friday) and ending August 10th (Tuesday). That gives you 12 full days to decide what colors you want to pick up!

Your purchase total must be $48 and after the discount, it would be $24 (8 full jars). As part of the "customer appreciation" sale, we are offering a free Glamour Gloss with any order of $42 or more (after discounts). Just let us know which gloss you would like free at check out, DO NOT add it to your cart or you will be charged. The gloss you will receive is a full sized gloss! Limit one per order! This deal is only good as long as the Customer Appreciation sale is valid.

PLEASE NOTE: These glosses do have color to them. Normal application offers a light sheer color payoff but they can also be built up for an intense color payoff.

New Colors!!

We recently released 11 new colors and 2 reformulations! Out of those 11 colors, 10 of them are unique to GDE and one is a color that everyone has been asking for.

Cloud Coverge and Disco White have now been reformulated to a much better texture, making it much easier to blend and use!

After Prom is a pinkish purple with a slight black undertone and pink/silver sparkle. This color is NOT vegan.

All Nighter is a darkish purple with blue sparkle. Is it purple or blue!?

Behind the Scenes is a metallic-ish brown with gold and bronze sparkle.

Graves in May is a gray with pink undertones and multi colored shimmer.

Her Revenge* is a bright red colored but when rubbed out, can shift into a warmer, more subdued orangeish red with light.

Hot Pants is a light blue with some dark blue undertones.

Picture Whore is a light metallic-ish pink with black undertones and silver sparkle.

Pistol Pistol is a blackened silver (almost gunmetal) with multi colored shimmer, but mainly red shimmer!

Typical Girl is a light purple with some pink hues. This color is NOT vegan.

Unicorn is a light pink with silver/white sparkle. This color is NOT vegan.

Upper East Side is a dark green with silver and gold hues. This color is NOT vegan.

MAC In the Groove - Haul and Swatch time

Being the limited edition junkie that I am, I managed to make it to the MAC store just as it opened sharply at 10am. I was the first customer of the day on Thursday, July 8th. As I walked into the store, the first words out of my mouth were, "I need Stereo Rose". All the hype that has surrounded this one itty bitty product, let alone the entire collection, is pretty fascinating AND mesmerizing!
I was instantly captivated by the selection. The rest was history...

Let's get NAKED...

...well not literally speaking. Of course I'm talking about Urban Decay's new palette, NAKED. I received mine early in the week and finally got around to doing a couple of videos-including a haul and tutorial video (which I am currently STILL in the process of editing and producing since my video editing software feels like being temperamental with me).
