Don Diablo vs Excision & Datsik – Blow the Calypso by dondiablo

I could listen to this bassline for 23 hours…and then I’d have an hour to eat something and do the whole thing over again…

I’ve been chatting with Matthew Trashing Teenagers for a while now on Facebook. He’s slipped me a few songs before they’ve even been released which is a great way to promote and build loyal fans. Every week I’m looking forward to their latest remix/bootleg/single and every week I’m impressed with their sound. Their sound is pretty dirty and hasn’t really progressed in the past 2 months but that’s seriously ok. I don’t want it to. I know what to expect when I get a track from them and it’s a BANGER.

Now I know that many people consider the summer as ‘concert season’ but I disagree. It seems like (at least here in Colorado) the fall is really when things pick up. Every weekend (nearly every night to be exact) there’s an excuse to go to a venue (Beta, Fox, Ogden or otherwise) and rage.your.face.off.

I like this. In fact I like this so much I find reasons to GO out every night and do JUST that. To be clear…this type of expense (on my wallet and liver) is definitely ‘in budget.’

To that end I will be seeing some of my favorite groups, Bloody Beetroots, Dada Life, Muse and Rusko all within 8 weeks from today.

If you’ve been to this blog before you kind of know what to expect. That being heavy, loud, grimy music that’s more likely to make you want to headbutt a complete stranger (not a good idea) than anything else.

However people can change right?

This is a great example of a song that takes you places. Yes yes yes, this is starting to sound really corny and sappy but I’m serious. I’m back in Michigan when I listen to this…sitting around the campfire at dusk, when you can still see the last sliver of sunlight on the horizon…I miss it like you wouldn’t believe.
