Dell brings an end to selling Windows XP machines. Microsoft announces a sweet new X-Box 360 & Kinect bundle. Windows Phone 7 maybe be coming to the Asian market as early as Q4 2010. We ask if Amazon is getting into the games delivery market, and Steven can’t help but pat himself on the back.

Minor Rendering Differences In FireFox Beta 5

I haven’t been paying the new beta’s of Firefox 4 too much attention (except to note that beta 5 has hardware acceleration turned on by default) as I’ve become a solid Chrome user, but I have noticed some minor differences in how it renders pages when compared to the current stable release of Firefox 3.6.9.

One simple example of this is the layout of the “subscribe buttons” in the sidebar of this site.

As you can see from the image below the buttons are where they are supposed to be in 3.6.9 but spill over in beta 5.

With the exception of Firefox 4 Beta 5 the sidebar displays properly in all other browsers. I’ve checked this against IE8, Chrome, Opera, Firefox 3.6.9 and Firefox 4 Beta 5 on both XP and Windows 7.

I hope this small issue is not indicative of larger issues ahead in terms of layouts and rendering in Firefox 4.

Lots of interesting news today from malware attacks to leaked video of the IE9 Beta, the LG Optimus Windows 7 Phone flicking images to LG televisions and speculation that Windows Phone 7 could be released as early as October as the 5th of October.

How Did This Post Get 100K+ Retweets?

I know I’ve mentioned before that the new Twitter button can seriously under represent the number of retweets a post can get, but this is the first time I’ve seen it with a figure that was higher than it should be.

100,000 times higher.

While preparing a post for Daily Shite this morning I spotted that the unpublished post had 100K+ retweets.

I know DS is somewhat popular, but 100K+ retweets on an post that hasn’t even gone live? I wish.
