And then there was Venice

So after a stressful time at work, I decide to take the boy to Venice. I have been obsessed with going for the longest time and it didn't let me down as it was simply incredible. We stayed on Murano island, which is famous for glassblowing and was a quiet and cute place with lots of charm. I would throroughly recommend staying at The Murano Palace hotel, which boasts the most fun loving and helpful staff!

I was very surprised by my Spanitalian! Went down a treat :) The canals, bridges, churches and piazzos are breathtaking. In particular I loved Piazzo San Marco, Ponte Accademia and Dorsodoru island for the galleries and general art scene. We were lucky enough to have full on winter sun to light up the beautiful surroundings. Besides the sightings there was of course the food. Just know that when you got to Italy in general you have to be prepared to eat but we ate some of the most incredible dishes and one of our favourite places to eat was at fusion Restaurant B on Murano island, which is a must if you are in the area. I ate the Grand B fish plate that is included in the pics above, kinda speaks for itself right?

All in all, fab! I will definately be returning, damn I miss those water taxis! ;)

Besides the Prada, Louis Vuitton and other fashion labels, Milan is a pretty cool city. The highlight of my trip was going to the roof of the Duomo cathedral. Now I must say, for some reason I am quite partial to visiting cathedrals when on my travels but the Duomo took the absolute biscuit. I literally sat up there in disbelief of the intricate artwork and all on the roof! These arty cats weren't playing!

It was a little grey up until we went on the roof (awwwwwwwwwwwww), no really, so I really appreciated the moment. We also went to Venice, pics to follow shortly.

Words can not explain the sheer excitement that I had when viewing th Burberry Prorsum SS12 Collection. The incredible African influences were spot on, this with the edgy styling, multitudes of textures, array of prints and cute hats and I was away. Saving now!!!

I am in love with this orange wool coat, Pia, from UK brand Whistles. The clean look, pop colour and blazer style is out of this world. I can work this number with my lace back dress, jeans and tee and winter romper. Heading to London next weekend for London Fashion Week...have to try this baby on!!!

Well it has been some time since my last blog post, my time management is less to be desired but I am actually updating my blog to inform you about this incredible slight fit and flare coat from Zara. Now I have recently spent the last three weeks in Andalucia visiting gorgeous Spanish towns, soaking up the golden sun and swimming in the beautiful ocean. However, I am a woman and still managed to get distratcted by a little shopping. Zara is a huge brand in Spain and can be found all over and the southof Spain is no exception.

Yes, I know it is hot but when I noticed the coat on the shop floor I got all giddy with excitement about my Autumn/Winter wardrobe. Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton I am not but I would still say that this coat is fit for a princess :) The figure skimming structure of the back of the coat is super feminine and tailored, thus making it a classic. Now, I personally would wear this coat with a light polo neck jumper, skinny jean and ankle boots. Nice, simple and sleek and a nod to popular and ultra chic Swedish streetstyle.

Pocket of sunshine at Jardins Pedralbes Barcelona

Well I must say that the weather in Barcelona has been a little temperamental, however it has definitely brightened up. Hurrah! I went with the boy for breakfast and decided to stay local, seeing as there were gale force winds and the beach would have meant that I would have turned into a sand sculpture. We ended up taking a stroll along Diagonal and visited Park Pedralbes, which was lovely and peaceful.

I finally have my new Olympus Pen camera, so you can expect to see frequent blog posts again, particularly outfit posts (on good days only of course). Apologies for the lack of posts, it is rather crazy in the world of fashion textiles, as we are preparing appointments to show our AW12!!! Hope you are all having a fab weekend so far, I am sure you all deserve it...

Granada - the enchanting Arabic/Spanish city

Easter in Granada is not to be messed with. These southerners take their processions seriously and I had the pleasure to witness a few. Granada was amazing for lots of reasons: La Alhambra, General Life, Albaicin, the Cathedral and incredible and cheap tapas but I was amazed at how Arabic the city was and how Christians and muslims live peacefully side by side. It is incredibly refreshing. The bf and I rented an apartment near rural cave houses by the Alhambra and we had breakfast on the terrace with the most beautiful views. I had the most DELICIOUS sweet chicken and vegetables and cous cous (this is not to be tried and tested) at a popular Morrocan restaurant near the Albaicin. The white towns were beautiful with the mountains in the background and the sun blazing. It was a shame that Barcelona was grey and miserable when we got back. Oh well, can't have it all.
