Christmas Cheer!!

I have so much to tell you and sorry I have been MIA!!! What a great holiday weekend that I had, ---we took our munchkins to see Frozen (AWESOME!!) if there's singing involved I'm all in....The hubby and I were even able to sneak off for a date night filled with sushi, shopping and another movie "The Best Man Holiday" ---excellent movie but its a definite tear jerker. Thanksgiving dinner at The Dawson residence was amazing. My sister really knows how to put on a party! So much food and so many laughs, we love hanging with our family. My mom came into town from Seattle (we haven't seen her in over 8 weeks and we were starting to have withdrawals) and we did a lot of shopping and she made her famous Gumbo. (RIDICULOUS I tell ya!!)
Besides working on our Christmas shopping (which I am no where near being done with), and decorating the house...... I ordered our Christmas cards through Shutterfly!! I got an amazing deal because of Black Friday and I cannot wait to send these out. Also I built a really cool advent calendar for my munchkins, thanks to the girls at Shanty 2 Chic. I absolutely love their stuff!!!

Along with searching for "Chokie" their Elf on a Shelf, they love opening up their presents every morning.....

Obsessed Fridays!

So I am thinking of choosing another day to display my latest obsessions...just thinking out loud.....

This week has flown by and a lot of changes are happening in my life. Mother's Day was awesome, received a card from my boys and then had a fabulous dinner with my in-laws. I'm talking grilled lobster tails, salad, bread and grilled veggies....Yummy in My Tummy! Then we capped the night off sitting on the kitchen floor eating raspberries and strawberries.

Super grainy, but it took me forever to even get this one...

Now on to my other obsessions........

1. Body Chain, Body Chain.....

2. Dip-dyed Hair...should I or shouldn't I? Either way I think it is a cool way to add a pop of color and who says it has to be permanent? I will keep you posted should I get the nerves up to do it!

3. Nail Art

So I have never been a fan of doing my own nails....I have always had a serious nail biting habit, don't judge me! I am trying to get rid of it. With that said, I have being going to the nail salon for years and I am tired of the usual flower, random leaf, etc that the nail techs convince you to put on your nails for an extra $5, plus the designs are super corny and outdated. I recently took to Pinterest and discovered a lot of nail designs and I even tried one on myself. I'm not only obsessed, I'm addicted!

4. Peplum, peplum, where for art thou PEPLEM!!!!!

I don't have hips and this style creates hips for me. Nuff said.....

5. I am obsessed with work lately, focusing on networking and building relationships in the

real estate and mortgage community. No pictures for that just words.

Geez...Lord me give me the strength to not only stay focused on You, my family, work but also in getting on a regular blogging schedule.

I do have to say that with this weekend being Mother's Day or for me "Mama's Day!" I need to do a little something for what Mama wants now.....I don't need anything but the love of my man and boys, but I wouldn't mind a little something something to obsess over...I mean us Mama's do A LOT and this is our day (besides my birthday month) to get rewarded, right?

So this is a huge make-up trade show that I have always wanted to attend and its June 23-24th, 2012

in Los Angeles. I mean I do need to make a serious make-up overhaul and I have a few friends that

wouldn't mind coming with me. Plus you don't have to be a pro to attend!

And speaking of makeup, I want this little jewel too....

So after the Phoenix Children's Museum, we came home and decided to have a little girls night out on the town...well not really we went to sushi and then ended our night at this little dive bar called Roman's. It was so much fun and we danced, talked and did a lot of a laughing!

The next day was Baby Kam's 1st birthday party, we only had family come over, but it was a lot of fun and ended up being a ton of people, surprisingly, considering I planned it is 2 days....

So I left Washington headed to Arizona in 2005 because I had become engaged to B.....

Long story short it has been 7 years since my move and my sister has NEVER BEEN TO AZ TO VISIT ME!!!! Crazy right??

Well, the wait is over because she's here with my nephew and her really good friend. It's been so much fun so far, while I was working they headed off to the mall and literally spent about 4 hours there shopping...so much fun, I wish I had the energy to do that with 2 little ones. They came home with cupcakes, cookies and a couple bottles of wine. So we sat up and talked and laughed until I couldn't hold my eyelids up anymore. (I wake up everyday at 6am with my Kings running into our room to state, "Mommy, I wake up!") So I just can't hang like I used to. Ha!

Then we decided to do something for the kids so we headed off to the Phoenix Children's Museum for a little bit of fun. It was a great few hours spent playing, running, jumping and exploring all things for KIDS!

Lordy, Lordy my sweet Ping is 40!

I met the coolest girl about 5 years ago, my husband said we are going over to a friend Jason's house to meet their new little daughter and hang out. I walked into a beautiful home and were welcomed by the nicest women. She had just had a sweet little girl named Ryan and let me tell you it looked as though she had never given birth. Her figure is amazing and I know now that her eating habits are impeccable, except when my hubby and her get together, they seem to always fall for anything sweet! I remember rocking Ry to sleep that and talking with Jason and Stacy late into the night. Well that was five years ago and I still call this women a really, really great friend. Stacy is not only one of the hardest working people I know, she is kind, giving, beautiful, a great workout partner ;0), a true friend. "Ping" as I affectionately call her will also let you know what's on her mind and if she doesn't like something that you are doing she will IMMEDIATELY let you know. That is why my husband always says that Ping is quick to give you a review, you might not like it, but you will respect it. She is also my partner in crime when it comes to music, especially Sade. She endured my crazy antics at the Sade concert and stood by my side the entire time. Let us not forget and I think its your turn to wear the Sade shirt next week!! HEY!!

I watched her marry the love of her life in Montana....

We took a family vacation to Hawaii (amongst numerous other trips).....

and I was around to see her pregnant with her 2nd daughter as she was with me when I was delivering Kings..

Besides being a fabulous wife, cook and business owner, she is also a fabulous Mommy to two beautiful little girls. Those little princesses are so lucky to have you Ping! Keep guiding them in the right direction because you are doing a wonderful job.

Lastly, thank you so much for ALWAYS being there for me and my family. Can you believe it has been five years already since we first met?? You are a beautiful soul and deserve nothing but the best, HAPPY HAPPY Birthday friend...you don't look a day over 25.

Retail Therapy Session!

Such a fun day today!

Dropped off Kings at Montesorri....he just adores his school and he managed to bring home a lot of "work" which included a really cute caterpillar made out of egg cartons.

Kam and I headed out with my dear friend Patience and her son for a little retail therapy. Picked up a pair of super cute jeans for cheap and some other random stuff. No pics to show, but I just love getting away with my friends and catching up. Even if it includes a baby (my sweet Kam) who did not nap and all he wanted to do was wobble, I mean walk around the stores. He was a trooper. Patience's son is amazing he sat in his stroller the entire time and chilled, she trained him early....LUCKY! Since I don't plan on having another other kids I have to start working on mine stat! Mama likes to shop, hello!

Now the boys are napping and Mama is doing a little work--people want some home loans...thank you Lord! I hope you all have a fabulous weekend, spend it with the ones you love!

I literally grew up bouncing around and singing to this women's songs. She was an amazing talent and everyone in the music industry strives to have the voice that she had. Her infectious smile and positive attitude is what catapulted her career. Her legend will never be forgotten and her music will continue to inspire. We will miss you Whitney Houston and my thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends, especially your daughter. Watch over us Whitney from above, you are now no longer in pain.

365 days just flew by.....Baby K you're 1.....

With tears in my eyes, I write this and I proudly say Happy Birthday my sweet baby boy! You have become a true blessing to our family. I cannot believe that a year ago I was starving myself while Daddy, Kings and the rest of The Edwards family chowed down at California Pizza Kitchen. I, of course, had to fast because I was due for C-Section at approximately 5pm and could not eat. Surprisingly, I had no appetite because I was very anxious and excited to meet you.

My surgery was so peaceful, I remember singing Michael Jackson's "I Wanna Rock With You" while Dr. Johnson prepped me for surgery and as I layed on that table with your Daddy beside me I could not believe that in a matter of minutes our family would go from three to four. You came out screaming and all I heard the nurse say was "Look at those 2 dimples!" That's why til this day your Daddy always says that "you aren't pimpin' you're dimpin!" Haha!

Born at a mere 6 pounds 6 ounces you were perfect and exactly the same size as your big brother. Let me add that Kings was not at all excited to meet you and could not figure out why I was holding you. He freaked out and I knew that this was not going to be easy for him, but as soon as I got home with you, he adjusted fairly quickly and my sweet 20 month old baby boy was now a big brother and literally grew up before my very eyes.

I have to mention that during our stay, especially the first night together, we had the best nurse ever! Mandy....thank you so much for helping me during those first few days with Baby K you were a true God send and I am happy that I still get to follow your journey on a little thing called Facebook.

Well from that first car ride home to your 1st shots (surprisingly Mama did not cry) to our first plane ride to Seattle for Auntie Ky's bridal shower to our first emergency room visit...you had croup and many, many other firsts, I am so happy to call you my son and this has been an exciting year.

So Chevron has been around for years...no I am not talking about the gas station (although I was taught a very long time ago that they do have the best gas). Ha!

What I am obsessing over is Chevron patterns. It is back, but really did this trend setting and bold pattern ever leave?

HGTV ME PLEASE!

It's late at night and my kids are asleep and my hubby is breathing softly next to me. He's getting sick and a little uncomfortable so I am praying that he has a good nights sleep, although as I type this he is complaining that I am creating alot of light. Hey, it's not my fault that my MAC is like a flashlight...ha!

I find that this late right before bed all I want to do is watch HGTV and obsess over all of the remodels and people finding their dream homes...I mean I get some of my greatest ideas from this channel. I became obsessed thanks to my Mama! She is amazing when it comes to remodeling and decorating and I draw a lot of inspiration from her as well. I truly think that her calling is being a Contractor....anyway all I want to do right now is get my home HGTV'd!!! Hmm...now I just have to think of what show I want to be on!!

I would love to share something fabulous I did this past weekend....and I will in do time because I did have my hubby pick me up a little find from GW....but I will show you all that later.

Unfortunately this week I have been fighting off a cold/flu bug that is trying to get the best of me, but I won't let if defeat me! Sadly my little princes have gotten it and I have had to stay home with them this entire week. Kings is a super active little toddler and this is what he looked like on Monday:

Let me just say that this kids never lays down, so for him to be sleeping, in the morning too; I just knew he had to be super sick. After a quick trip to the doctor we found out he had pneumonia. Poor little man...so we walked around Target for an hour picking up odds and ends while waiting for his prescprition. Its now Wednesday and although he is still coughing, he has no fever and is getting back into the groove of things.

Now my baby Kam has started coughing too and because I don't want to let this one get started too soon, off to the doctor I will go today as well. Oh the joys of parenthood, especially with two, but I wouldn't trade it for the world and I am appreciative that I can do my job from pretty much anywhere that has wireless connection. Ha!

Update on Kam is he has the beginning stages of Bronch....yep...breathing treatments it is...whew! Lord heal my babies soon....

Okay, so its Saturday morning, my oldest is sick and Mama had to get out of the house for a quick 45 minute jaunt around the city looking for some finds....as Daddy says "your going to go get a fix huh?" and I reply "THAT'S RIGHT!" My blog isn't titled OBSESSED MAMA for nothing!

So out I went and I was in search of a unique side table for my son's …

Something simple, clean lines and a drawer would be nice

I can find this side table for sure, a little sanding, painting and distressing...

I am also looking for 2 twin beds and a cheap, low profile dresser...

love these metal beds, minus the dress portrait of course....ha!

Obsessed with this table and headboards...

Or maybe I can get 2 twin bed frames and make my own headboard??

Love these dressers! And everything on the wall too!

And a special, special chair for a project me and P are working on. Well, needless to say...NO LUCK! I mean there was everything else at these sales except what I was looking for...so I will continue on CG for some finds and pray that my fave, Patience at White Lacquer gets on the good foot and finds me something special. (wink, wink)

In the meantime, I am still debating whether or not to put them in the same room, but I think while they are little it could be fun. Thoughts?

Vacation, vacation...oh how I love a family vacation!

CABO SAN LUCAS or as us regulars call it "The Bo" per usual was amazing. Nine days in paradise with my hubby, our boys and the rest of our family was pretty spectacular. Taking 2 planes to get there so the boys could rest was not so much fun considering Kings complained of his ears and through his wails and crying all I could do was hold and love on him. Poor little guy! ;0(

We arrived to our condo and immediately went to the store and settled the boys in for naps. Without a beat, Kings asked me "Mommy...you sleepy with me?" and how could I say no. So I shut the sun away from the room by closing the drapes and headed off into sleepyland.

Well as you can guess with an 11 month old and 2-1/2 year old besides the naps we played alot at the beach and pool. Kings got worked by the ocean with his Papa, and by that I mean he dove into the waves and rolled back onto the shore, it was quite a site to see! He also built sandcastles with his Daddy and Nana and through the layers and layers of sunscreen became the bronzest toddler I know. I mean I worked hard on my tan and this kids plays around with sunscreen and still ends up darker than his Momma!!!!??!!

Kam or Scoops as we like to call him, was not so fond of the ocean, but did enjoy watching the people at the pool. I think out of everyone this kids was the most well rested of the group. Two almost 3 hour naps daily, he ate to his hearts content and was in bed by 7:30pm. He also could have been tired because his Uncle Kaos danced with him the entire trip, which thus led to his second nickname "Boogie!" Let me tell you, this kid not only has moves but he has rhythm but that should not be too hard to believe because his Momma has always been a dancing machine. Haha!

Through trips to downtown Cabo on the bus, a long timeshare presentation and an interesting night out with the adults to Cabo again for a little night out to El Squid Roe, The Loveshack and the Pink Kitty, numerous laughs with our family, shopping and Happy Hour everyday, THE BO was wonderful. What was even more spectacular was the walks along the beach and T & I attempting to beat the ocean before it crashed in on us (EPIC FAIL)...I think I still have sand and salt water in my hair. Did I mention that we all managed to work out 7 out of the 9 days?? Yes we were in beastmode, but we had to keep all the chips and salsa at bay ya know!

What a great family vacation away from the chaos of our day to day schedule back in the states. Maybe I should take a break from social media for awhile, because it was nice not to be connected to the internet and just enjoy my family. Who knows....I will keep you posted!

I truly loved the time spent with my hubby and our boys, T and Kaos, Uncle Eric and of course Molnick and Ricky Bobby (my inlaws for inviting us)....until we meet again Bo!

Grandma C--An Angel now Watching Over Us

I was awakened last night by my brother in law with news that our beloved Grandma C. had passed away peacefully after a short battle with a brain injury. She was an amazing women that raised four kind and gracious children.

I have only known Grandma C. for 7 short years, but the times I did spend with her were memories I will hold onto for a very long time. When anyone was around her presence exuded a feeling of calm and maturity. Her manners were impeccable and if she thought something you said was out of line, she would quickly correct you. She had a true love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but I also know that her love for religion was also high on her list if not number 1. She was a devote Catholic that never tried to miss a day in church. I can remember a few years back she came to visit us in Arizona because of Telle's graduation. Everyone was extremely exhausted with all of the festivities so when Sunday rolled around no one had the energy to go to church. Well, her energy never waivered and she was the oldest in the group! ;0) Her grandson, my hubby, happily offered to take his Grandma to church and I believe that truly made her day.

I will also never forget the dance party at my wedding and getting her on the dance floor to do her signature "robot moves" were hilarious! She literally had a circle of people around her rooting her on.

I am also thankful that she got to know my baby Kings, but a little sad that she will never get to know Kam. I will make sure that her legacy lives on in my boys and that they know their Great Grandma C. and everything that should stood for: faith, family, respect, manners, peace and love!

God truly received a special, special angel last night and although she is no longer here with us in the physical world, I pray that we all find comfort in knowing that she is now with her husband, her brother and other family and friends. Grandma C. continue to watch over us and please step in and correct us anytime you deem necessary! ;0)

First Day at Montessori School--Hand in Hand

Oh my oh my....I am having a hard time writing this, not only because I feel like I was just holding him in my arms at a mere 6 pounds 6 ounces but because he is now 2-1/2 years old and had his first day at Montessori School. Mind you its only for a half day, but he's my first born, the one who gave me my first real experience with nausea when he was in my tummy and the first angel I ever fell in love with the moment our eyes met. He's my Kings and I don't want him to grow up! Sadly I know time doesn't stop and honestly I can't wait to see what positive things he brings to this world, but time is moving at warp speed, just slow down for two seconds so I don't miss a moment watching him and his brother.

Well, enough about that.....we pulled up to school and with his lunch pail in hand we headed hand in hand into school and Ms. Smith greeted us before we even walked in. She is a sweetheart and loves her kids. Kings put his lunch away in the fridge and off he went.

With tears in my eyes, he went to play with another little boy and when Ms. Smith asked him to say goodbye to Mommy he turned around to me, ran at a full sprint, hugged me tight, gave me a kiss and said "BYE MOMMY!"

I walked out with a little uneasiness, hoping that he would not have any accidents (side note: we are actively working on potty training, and Kings had no diapers or pull-ups to fall back on, only big boy undies) and went directly to work, while messaging family and friends his new school picture.

The day dragged on a little and I only called once to check in on him. Pick-up time couldn't come soon enough and I was excited to see his little face as I walked into school. He was banging on a bell as his 2 friends filled me in on what he did today. Ms. Smith happily reported that he only had one accident, even though I supplied her with a full week's worth of clothes. ;0) You can never be too careful, right?
Kings had a huge smile on his face and seemed to enjoy his first day at school and told Ms. Smith and his friends that he would see them tomorrow.

And hand in hand as we left school, Kings waved goodbye and my heart felt at ease because his first day was a success and he was a happy kid. What a great day!

Coolest Christmas Gift

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope you all had a beautiful and blessed holiday this year. Mine was spectacular because all of my family came over to celebrate Christmas at our home. What a day we had!!
So I have to pump myself up once in awhile and I must say that thanks to Pinterest my holiday decorations were amazing, but that's not just my opinion...I was told by several friends and family as well. So I'm sticking to it!! Ha!

Anyhoo...is that a word? I don't think so but Me likey...I decided to get crafty again this year...don't judge me I'm actually pretty creative at times. We had professional pictures taken by the coolest photographer on Earth and my friend Robin Archibald...she's amazing!

I made for both my mom and mother-in-law the coolest gift, it was a set of coasters which I basically just printed off the pictures on my computer and mod podged them onto the coaster, added about 4 more coats of mod podge and then glued cork on the back of the tile and voila! A great gift for less than $5. (Side note: you can add spray acrylic over the pictures as a final step if you like)

Mind you I bought the tiles at Lowe's for .39 cents each, Mod Podge, cork board and spray acrylic.

Easy Peasy and they were a huge hit!!

Time Flies...

It was a little over 2 years ago for my oldest and 9 months to the day for my youngest when God blessed me with the sweetest 2 boys in the world. I am so thankful to have been chosen to be their Mama. Everyday they light up my life and I could not imagine a day or even a minute without them.

Thank you Kings and Kam for being the best sons I could ever ask for.

Kings favorite thing right now is watching "Nemo" and jumping off of the couch onto a pile of pillows. Plus he loves helping out with his little bro.

Kam's favorites include EATING, EATING, EATING! He loves to watch his older brother run around like a wild man! Oh and he adores his JUMPEROO! Did I mention he is starting to crawl!

Boy oh boy! What a weekend...well we thought we were really going to have it in for ourselves.
The side rails were purchased weeks ago and I was waiting for the perfect opportunity to move Kings from his crib, that he has so lovingly become accustomed to for the past 2 years, into his big boy bed. Now this isn't just any bed, its a QUEEN SIZE, and I assumed would be a little intimidating to my little Tooks! Well, its our guest bed and since I am indecisive, I haven't quite figured out what bed I want for his room permanently, so this will have to suffice for the time being. I'll get it together eventually.

So nap time comes around and we walk Kings into the room and put him in the bed. Well he's a little confused, so I quickly run and grab his sound machine, blankets and stuffed animals to emulate his crib. He clutches his blanket, looks at us, we kiss him goodnight as we do everynight, turn away and close the door. Can you believe that he doesn't even make a sound??? About 15 minutes later, I am still in awe, so I creep into the room and he is sprawled out horizontally on the bed as if he has always slept there. Thank you Lord! This nap lasted 2 whole hours!!!!

But the real test would come in the evening. So here it was and what kept playing in my head was my mother telling me that I would wake up in the middle of the night with Kings staring at me from the side of my bed because he had gotten out of his. So I was prepared to greet my little man in the middle of the night, but IT NEVER HAPPENED! He had slept through the night, from 8pm to 7am and when he did awake, he just called my name.....there was no little pitter patter of feet coming into our bedroom. Yay! I silently prayed again a prayer of thanks and gratitude. We had conquered the big boy bed and Kings did it was such ease!

Mommy Monday!

Since becoming a mommy of two,just three short weeks ago, I have realized quickly that it is ALL ABOUT YOUR CHILDREN! Taking care of kids is a fulltime job and I wouldn't have it any other way, but just last week I did not get out of my pajamas until 4 in the afternoon. Crazy or some moms would think normal, well I am determined to not only be an amazing mother of two little ones,but also take the much needed away time for myself. And for once take a shower and get dressed before noon.

Therefore, I have declared my day to be titled, "Mommy Monday"where I will take the time out for myself whether it is for 15 minutes or an entire day. On my day I want to discuss things that I have been obsessing about that has nothing to do with children. ;0) So here I go:

For the past month I have been desperately needing to get to the mall to get myself some new eyeliner, well the thought of lugging two kids to the mall is definitely not happening, so internet shopping has become my best friend. Now I have always been a black eyeliner type of gal, you can't go wrong with black and in my opinion it looks good on everyone as long as it is applied right.

So there's nothing like a good old liner pencil and I am loving this one by Makeup Forever, it's easy to put on and lasts! No smearing or smudging with this liner:

And I love a good liquid liner. I bought this one by Smashbox in October and loved it, until my beautiful Mother used it and accidentally left the cap loose, so I only got about three weeks of use out of it, but it was amazing, especially for cat eyes.

From three to a family of 4....

Seriously 9 months of pregnancy flew by so quick...I remember looking at that pregnancy test in awe that we were bringing another little baby into this world and next thing I knew I was at triage on a Wednesday at 3pm getting ready to check-in for my 5pm scheduled C-section appointment.
Wait! Was I ready for this? I mean I had cried the night before looking at my first born son and at only 20 months old he was becoming a big brother in less than 24 hours. How could I love another, the way that I loved him for the past year and a half? Or better yet did I even have enough love to give this new little guy?
As I changed into my backless hospital gown, received my IV and answered numerous questions from the nurse, I literally waited 20 minutes before being led into the surgery room. What cold place to walk into!! Everyone was extremely friendly but I found myself instantly shivering from the drop in temperature. My Doctor helped me onto the surgery table and I immediately

Time would tell to my earlier uneasiness about having enough love to give a second time. However, that question was answered at 5:31pm and as soon as Baby K entered this world and our eyes met it was literally love at first sight all over again. He was perfect weighing in a 6 pounds 6 ounces, wait, did I hear that correctly? Yes! He weighed the exact same weight as his older brother did!!! He had a full head of black hair and 2 big dimples. Don't ask me where those came from because my main squeeze and I do not have dimples! He was pure perfection!

As my husband headed off with Baby K, I spent another 45 minutes on the operating table being sewn back together ;0) Oddly, I was extremely comfortable the entire time and I have to say that this second C-Section was 10 times better than the first.
After being wheeled into recovery, I saw Baby K again and he was truly an angel and he looked identical to his older brother. He and bonded together for the next three days at the hospital and on Friday, it was time for us to go home and start our life together going from three to now a family of four! And we wouldn't have it any other way!
