The Anaheim Police were recently called to Disneyland when a flock of geese pooped on about 40 guests. Apparently they were also called when an unknown object was found in a tree near Downtown Disney the afternoon of Tuesday, June 3, according to the O.C. Register.

The Anaheim police set up a perimeter while they investigated the object, restricting access to some areas near the ESPN Zone.

However the item turned out to be discarded clothing – apparently a t-shirt.

Fortunately no evacuations were ordered, and there was no threat to the public from the item.

Most folks may not know that two Anaheim police officers are always assigned to Disneyland and Downtown Disney. The Disney Resort also has a vast number of unarmed security guards at their disposal. And they utilize closed circuit TV cameras to keep an eye on their guests as well.

Disney also has bomb sniffing dogs available who are brought in when there are strange objects left behind. Those usually turn out to be backpacks or lunch bags.

Disney also recently added more security – now all visitors, even those who go to Downtown Disney, have their bags searched before then can enter the resort area.

Anaheim Fire & Rescue responded to reports of a Mass Casualty HazMat incident at Disneyland just before 9:00 p.m. on Friday night. Initial reports were that someone threw human feces on as many as 40 guests who were standing in the hub on Main Street.

Once APD and AF&R personnel were on scene, it was quickly determined the guests had actually been the victims of a flock of geese which flew overhead. A total of 17 people, 11 adults and 6 juveniles were impacted.

They were taken to an area where they could clean up and were provided clean clothing. There were no injuries and nobody was transported to a hospital.

Any further inquiries regarding the event should be directed to Disney Media Relations, not APD or AF&R.

The investigation into last night’s fire at the Mickey and Friends parking structure has narrowed the origin between two vehicles, a 2015 Toyota Prius and a 2001 Ford Expedition.

The area of origin is believed to be in either the cargo area of the Prius where the battery is located or the engine compartment of the Expedition, which were within three feet of each other.

Due to the extreme heat produced by the fire, the configuration of the vehicles, and their proximity to one another, the exact cause and origin cannot be determined without further testing and evaluation.

Anaheim Fire investigators are working cooperatively with the insurance companies involved in attempting to determine a definitive cause. However, there is no indication the fire was intentionally set or foul play is involved.

ANAHEIM, CA – (February 13, 2017) – Anaheim Fire & Rescue responded to the Mickey and Friends parking structure around 4:37 pm regarding a vehicle fire. The first units on scene reported heavy smoke and several vehicles fully involved in flames on the second level of the structure. Firefighters quickly attacked the fire and obtained knock down in less than 30 minutes.

Eight vehicles suffered extensive damage and another one to three vehicles had minor damage from the radiant heat. The Mickey and Friends parking structure was evacuated for approximately three hours while the smoke was cleared from the structure.

An unidentified man jumped to his death off a parking structure near Disneyland Park just past 2 a.m. on Friday, at the Mickey and Friends parking structure located at 1313 S. Coroner.

The man was taken to the UCI Medical Center, in Orange, where he died at 3:08 a.m. on Friday morning, according to the O.C. Register.

At least two other suicides have occurred at the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure since 2010. A 23-year old man from Santa Ana jumped from one of the floors to his death in April, 2012. And in October, 2010 a 61-year old man jumped to his death from the top floor of the parking structure.

Disney’s maintenance staff generally will screen off such scenes right away and the sites are decontaminated after public safety officials investigate the incidents.

The party is over for Jordan Brandman’s supporters…

In related news, the parent company of Disneyland funneled more than $900,000 into a complicated network of groups supporting Disney-friendly political candidates in four Anaheim City Council races and attacking their opponents, according to a Voice of OC. Disney’s efforts to control the Anaheim City Council failed as challengers seized two of the districts and City Councilman Jordan Brandman, who always did Disney’s bidding, was booted by the voters.

Disney’s political stock in Anaheim is now plummeting like the men who have jumped off the Mickey and Friends parking structure over the last few years.

SANTA ANA, Calif. – A former Disneyland employee pleaded guilty today to a court offer and was sentenced to one year in jail, five years of formal probation, and mandatory lifetime sex offender registration for attempting to sell tickets to Disneyland in exchange for sex with a minor. Darreck Michael Enciso, 27, Adelanto, pleaded guilty to one felony count of attempted lewd act upon a child, one felony count of contacting a child with the intent to commit a specified sex crime, and one felony count of meeting a minor with the intent to engage in lewd conduct.

At the time of the crime, Enciso was an employee at the Disneyland Resort.

On July 1, 2015, Enciso posted an ad on Craigslist seeking women willing to engage in sex acts in exchange for tickets to the Disneyland parks. He communicated with an HBPD undercover officer, whom he believed to be a 14-year-old girl, interested in the tickets. Enciso set up a place and time to meet with a person he thought was a minor girl to give her the tickets in exchange for sex acts.

On July 9, 2015, Enciso arrived at the meeting location with condoms and Disneyland tickets. HBPD officers then arrested the defendant near the pre-arranged location on Beach Boulevard in Huntington Beach.

By: O.C. Supervisor Lisa Bartlett

In honor of the 60th Diamond Anniversary Celebration, Disneyland Resort is proud to launch the Disneyland Resort Dreamers & Doers program. Deeply rooted in Disney’s commitment to supporting youth and the community, Disneyland Resort Dreamers & Doers celebrates the power of possibility and the youth who take action to improve their community, home or school.

The Disneyland Resort strives to drive positive change through four focus areas: Live Healthier, Strengthen Community, Conserve Nature and Think Creatively. We invite Orange County high school students to share their stories of how they are taking action for a brighter tomorrow in these four focus areas:

Conserve Nature: Connect children and families with nature to build lifelong conservation values. Live Healthier: Make healthier living fun and accessible.

Think Creatively: Nurture creative thinking skills to inspire children and families to create the future they imagine.

Live Healthier: Make healthier living fun and accessible.

Strengthening Community: Bring hope, happiness, and comfort to children and families.

Each Orange County high school will select their “Dreamer & Doer” who will have the opportunity to win prizes, including money for their school.

Here is how it works . . .

To apply, verify your school’s participation and application submission process

Submit a completed application to your high school’s main office by November 20, 2015

Each Orange County high school will select their “Dreamer & Doer” by completing an online application

Student applications can be downloaded from the website September 8, 2015- November 20, 2015.

Here is what you can win . . .

Each student nominated by their school will be recognized as a “Dreamer & Doer” and receive (2) 1-Day Park-Hopper tickets

From the nominated group of “Dreamers and Doers”, 60 students will be identified as “Shining Stars” and invited to attend a Celebration Luncheon along with two family members and a representative from their school

To inspire fellow students to make their school a better place, each of the 60 students selected as “Shining Stars” will receive a $1,000 grant for their school, as well as a Dreamers & Doers medal of recognition

Inspire a Brighter Tomorrow . . .

In our stories we find the inspiration to envision a brighter tomorrow and the aspiration to make dreams come true. There are no limits to where creativity and imagination can take us! By inspiring creativity in young people today, we hope to ignite the spark of innovation that leads us all to a brighter tomorrow.

As part of our commitment to inspire youth to take action in creating a brighter tomorrow, we will host a one-day Dreamers & Doers Symposium for all 60 “Shining Stars” to discuss issues that affect youth, and create solutions that they can implement in their school and community.
