Strawberry Picking

I love strawberry's and a few weeks ago I took my kids on a Strawberry picking tour at Tanaka Farms. What a great experience. We've done pumpkin picking in the Fall at Tanaka Farms and this was our first time doing the strawberry tour. We got to ride the tractor threw the farm and they made stops letting everyone sample the current vegetables being grown. My kid enjoyed the tour and picking the strawberry's. They also offer a cook-out tour where you pick your own vegetables and have them BBQ for lunch, with strawberry picking for dessert. I just read you can get an extra basket of strawberry's if you go on Father's day weekend. This was fun and I'm looking forward to going back with the kids for the watermelon tour this summer. Kid's Resturant Week

Summer is just around the corner and the OC has a cool Kid's Restaurant Week coming June 27th-July 3rd. Some restaurant's will have kid's eat free deals. Breakfast with the Easter Bunny

For those of you who have been reading my blog you know how much I love the Kidgits Club and the mall. If you're not a member and have kids you need to join. It's such a great program with great discounts and special members only events. As a member we were invited to Breakfast with Santa in December.
We attend Breakfast with Santa at the Laguna Hills mall. They had Radio Disney as the DJ, crafts for the kids and of course Santa. Although the breakfast was not that filling the event overall was great for being free. You just have to remember to eat before you go.
Now it Spring and time for Breakfast with the Easter Bunny. So if you're not member yet, I suggest you join. The members only events are free with paid membership. Also, you do have to RSVP for the events and they do fill up fast. Registration for the Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at the Laguna Hills Mall starts today!

Cafe Rio Mexican Grill in Lake Forest

The Cafe Rio opened a few months ago in Lake Forest. My family and I finally had a chance this past weekend to try it out. I didn't know what to expect and just hoping they had something for my kids would eat. I had a grill steak taco which was the size of a burrito and tortilla soup. The soup was the best tortilla soup I have ever had and I will for sure be back for the soup. Oh, the taco was also amazing! So what did the kids eat? Well at first glance at the menu you will not find a kids menu but you will happily find out that when dinning in kids get a free quesadilla. The kids loved it and we will be back again soon.

I haven't decided what to do celebrate the New Year with the kid's but here's a possibility. Rain Forest Cafe at South Coast Plaza is having a Family New Year's Eve Celebration. Date Night or Family Night?

I just found out that Simply Fondue is Mission Viejo has Family Night on Sunday's and kids under 10 eat free with purchase of dinner. I love Fondue and have gone several times as a date night with my husband but never really thought to bring the kids. I don't dare bring my 2 year old because of the hot pots but I think my 4 year old daughter would enjoy the chocolate fondue.

I just found this great deal for Pizza and Bowling and more for $25. On the website Goldstar.com you can purchase this deal good at the Concourse Entertainment Center in Anaheim . The Wednesday Night Family Special features one bowling lane for one hour, one large two-topping pizza, $5 in arcade tokens and shoe rentals for up to 8 people. It looks like this is currently available for all Wednesday's in November and reservation times are 6pm, 7pm or 8pm. I think I need to take the kids bowling.

Farrell's Grand Opening

We made it to the Grand Opening of Farrell's in Mission Viejo. It was crazy, loud and so much fun! A great place to bring the kids.We all had the wood stone fired pizza. The kids got to make their own at the table and had a blast. Ton's of birthday's celebrations going on all around us with drums beating to celebrate. I had a coke ice cream float while my kid's enjoyed the chocolate milk. We ended the night with the a scoop of chocolate ice cream , yummy! I'll have to back with more people to try one of the belly busters maybe the The Pig's Trough or the Farrell's Zoo. If its your birthday remember to let them know because you get a free Birthday Sundae.

I've found a great discount program at all Simon Malls. For $5 annual fee you get a discount card that is good for various discounts at the mall. Many mall restaurants participate in the program and some even have free kids meals any day of the week. My kids and I usually go to The Shops at Mission and The Laguna Hills Mall. So far I've used the card to get free meals Ruby's, CPK and BJ's. The Elephant Bar also has free kids meals but I haven't had a chance to try it out. The discounts change monthly but a list can be found at the mall customer service booth. I think it's so worth the $5.

Woody's Dinner - Laguna Hills

Took the kids out to try the new Woody's Dinner that took the place of Island's in Laguna Hills. I was expecting another hamburger joint but was surprised to find a large menu selection that included breakfast. Lucky for my kids since they don't like hamburgers but love breakfast. My son had the silver dollar pancakes and my daughter had the french toast. I highly recommend the breakfast and will have to go back again to try out the burger's which will most likely be on a Wednesday as that's when kids eat free!

This month my mother was visiting so I planned a special trip to the American Girl Store in LA where we ate lunch at the American Girl Cafe. This is the best place to bring little girls and their American Girl dolls. My daughter had the tic-tac-toe pizza with her favorite chocolate milk. The dolls get their very own seat to sit at. They also do afternoon tea which we will have to go back and do one day.
