When I found out I was pregnant I downloaded about 10 different iPhones apps to monitor, record, plan, track, etc. my way through the next 9 months. I’ve opened them, I don’t know, maybe 7 or 8 times since then…total. This is baby number 3. No biggie. I’ve done this before. But, I think I should have paid a wee bit more attention because when I opened one app today it told me I have “22 more days!”. Um, excuse me? Wait, what? Huh?

We are less than prepared.* If this little guy decides he wants to exit sooner than we’ve planned we will be scrambling. I’ve decided there is very little we have to purchase this time but everything we do have is….somewhere. Attic, I think. Pretty sure. I don’t think it’s in storage. Except for the crib. But we don’t need that right away anyway. The bassinet should be fine. And, okay, maybe we do need to buy a new crib because since the last kid ours has been declared a death trap. Whatever, we will worry about that one later.

What have I done? I bought a few boxes of diapers. And ordered wipes. Oh, and I put the pad on the changing table. Apparently poop has been my priority. At least we won’t have to catch it with our hands.

It’s not like I haven’t thought about getting the other stuff done. It’s just that the past week or so has been SO hot. I did nothing. Now that the weather is tolerable I’ve been spending time catching up on other things to ensure that our other two children are clothed and fed. Important stuff like that.

Tonight Ryan will hopefully go in search of the bassinet, bouncy seat, infant car seat and base, swing, baby bath, infant boys clothing, play mat, monitor, etc. which will hopefully all be in working order. I’ve placed online (of course) orders for pacifiers, wipes, bottles (to replace our old ones which were, I’m told, made with poison), nipples and a diaper pail to replace the NASTY one we tossed.

Maybe, just maybe, they will let us bring this one home from the hospital.**

* We did get a new car so we can transport all 3 children at the same time. It’s a…….minivan.

** We’ve finally settled on a name which is one of the requirements. And we have the minivan. If we can find the car seat we should be covered.

After eating 4 pieces of candy last night, Meghan asked if she could have candy for dessert.

I am spending the morning explaining why candy is not a breakfast food.

I’ve also had to tell Sean multiple times that, no, we will not be trick or treating again when it gets dark out.

Today is Sean’s first official day of preschool. He had absolutely no problem staying there alone. In fact, I had to chase him down to say goodbye.

I’m not surprised. He had his backpack on for over 30 minutes before we had to leave the house.

Kindergarten

The bus may have been late causing a bit of a freak-out (for me) but, she got on without looking back.

Now I just need to figure out where the bus will drop her off…….

Summer, Summer

Does anyone else know what happen to the Summer? I could have sworn it was just here.

Meghan has her Kindergarten practice day this week, full week starting on Monday. Cheerleading started a few weeks ago. Soon dance and Sean’s first day of preschool will be here. Crazy.

Last week we took a trip to the cape. I wanted to make sure the kids got the the beach this year since we were not making the trip to Seaside Heights. It was our first time at this particular beach but we had a great time. Everything was right there. There was always something to do. I need to sort through the pictures but her are a few of my favorites so far.

How is is August already?

I’m in shock. August. I can still remember how much last winter sucked and I am not ready to give up the warm weather. Yes, our house turns into an oven sometimes but I still prefer that to snow and ice.

I figured it was about time to check out the list I created back in June to see if we actually accomplished anything. Here we go:

Tickets to see Walking with Dinosaurs. - DONE

Tickets to the Circus. - DONE

Zoo membership - Went multiple times.

Trip to Cape Cod. – Going in a few weeks

Preschool soccer for Sean - Started

Swim Lessons - DONE

One week of Cheer for Meghan – Starting soon

Trips to visit family in Jersey and NY. – DONE and DONE

Questionable:

Story Land – Probably not gonna happen this year.

Squeezing more into August may be a bit difficult. Meghan is registered for Cheer this fall and she has 2 practices a week starting next week. But still, not bad at all. We even booked a trip for our anniversary this fall. Bahamas. Three nights. No kids.

Also, looks like we have dates set aside for a trip to Disney in the Spring. I love, love, love having things like this to look forward to.
