Between that beautiful dress and the bouquet that complements it perfectly, this might be one of my favorite bridesmaid shots ever! Watercolor dresses are such a unique statement, and I’m sure your bridesmaids would be thrilled to enjoy your day in this pretty little number. If pastels aren’t your thing, look for a watercolor patterned dress that uses bright, bold hues, like red, yellow, and green. Watercolor dresses are definitely not just for bridesmaids! Take inspiration from the bride on the left, who wore this peachy, floor-length gown at her rehearsal dinner. I think that these dresses would be just as fun for any party, from a bridal shower, to a fancy birthday party, to a garden tea party. The easiest, and definitely one of the most beautiful, ways to incorporate watercolors into your event is through your paper products. These invitations show off two gorgeous ways to do so. The invitation on the left is romantic and modern, thanks to its dramatic colors and abstract shapes. The invitation on the right is rustic and sweet, with the information framed in hand-painted trees. Both would make beautiful first impressions for your special event! Invitations are great, but carrying the watercolor theme throughout your event’s paper products will really elevate it to the next level. I am blown away by the detail in that map on the left–can you just imagine getting this little work of art in the mail? In case you couldn’t tell, the escort cards on the right are from the same wedding as the abstract wedding invitations above. I love how they used the same color and design, but since everything was done by hand, every card is a little bit unique and different. Alright, this is my favorite idea of the day! The flowers are one of the decorative highlights of an event, and it’s so sad that they’re never quite the same after the big day, even if you dry and preserve your bouquet. I love the idea of getting a watercolor painting made of your starring blooms! I am a sucker for a good vintage font and these invitations are a vintage font lover’s dream.  Perfect for putting together a vintage circus party theme. It also puts together a great color scheme with the red, yellow and aqua- much like the old time-y circuses colors. Of course it wouldn’t be a circus party without a tent! I love this dessert table with the canopy hung above it for a “tent” feel. How adorable are those clown cupcakes too? I know a lot of kids afraid of clowns but you can’t be scared of these sweet treats! Other circus food staples include popcorn and my favorite circus treat-snowcones! (via Kara’s Party Ideas)

It wouldn’t be a fun kids party without games and this party featured all kinds of circus themed games. I love this “Clown Relay” where the kids dress up like clowns with oversized clothes, wigs and bow ties (don’t forget the clown shoes!) then race to the finish line without falling down! Photobooths are great ways to capture memories and I love this “clown booth” idea! Set up different silly props like mustaches, fake noses, etc.. and make sure all your guests stop by to strike a clown-y pose. I love how the frame looks like a circus tent and it will make your guests feel like they are taking center ring under your big top! (via Birds Party)

What would be a good idea for circus party favors? Sweet circus treats, of course! I love going to a party where the favor is edible because I know its something I will always use (or eat!). For a circus party, try animal crackers and cotton candy. These are kid-friendly staples that all ages will love. (via Ruby Press)

Nautical invitation ideas are endless. There are simple elegant invitations that incorporate the nautical colors. Anchors, whether simple or elaborate, are another popular nautical invitation design. And then there’s my personal favorite, tying the knot. For example, the save-the-date post card above shows the nautical “tying the knot” twist with literal sailing knots. (Via Lottie Loves)

Anchors are the perfect nautical decoration as not only do they tie in with the theme but they can represent the anchoring of your love for each other. This symbol becomes the perfect decoration for your wedding from decorating your invitations to decorating your reception. Use anchor ornaments as guest cards to give guests their table numbers. Centerpieces and table settings are another place to tie in your nautical theme. Beautiful flowers in red, blue, and white give your tables a classic wedding ambiance while still tying into your nautical theme. Want a little more? Add more decorations, like the “Ahoy” flag in the vase above. Dress-up your table settings with a nautical crab napkin ring or knot a piece of rope around the napkin with a fancy sailing knot. Finish off your nautical theme with your dessert table, as desserts are easiest to decorate with a theme. Petit lifesaver donuts make the perfect bite size dessert and the little flag labels top off the look. This beautiful blue coral wedding cake fits in perfectly with the nautical theme. Whether you decide to go all out with anchors and stripes or keep your celebration simple with a few nautical touches it’s sure to be a day to remember. The decorations are all a part of the fun, but the most important part of a wedding is the anchoring of each other’s love and tying those knots.

Pretty sweet little shoot, isn’t it? One of my favorite details came in the form of this gorgeous cake from Perfect Wedding Cake that mimicked the flower arrangements on the backs of the “Bride and Groom” chairs. The peach color is spot on, and continues the, well….continuity of the color story! Translation: easy (and chic) on the eyes!

While I’ve definately noticed weddings starting to look more “traditional,” personalized touches and quirky, unexpected decor are still as popular as ever. Take these painted letters hidden discreetly on the table. Stick with “I Do,” or make your own moniker. “Hitched,” “Just Married,” “Eat,” etc…

Ah yes, who could forget the wine? Look closely and you’ll notice that the custom bottle label features a sweet floral pattern not at all unlike that bloom that our groom is wearing. The green runner and tangerine sketch are the perfect match for his bold formal wear.

I love this photo of the bride tying her ballet slippers! For this faux wedding photo shoot, the bride wore a beautiful white dress with lace details with a pair of ballet shoes. If you don’t own a pair of ballet shoes, just slip on a pair of ballet flats and that’d do the trick! It’s not uncommon for brides to wear flats to their wedding. Tulle wedding dresses are one of the main inspirations for a bride that wants to look like a ballerina. But let’s not forget about the classic tutus! For this ballet inspired shoot, tutus were hung from the ceilings, giving the venue quite a romantic feel. The table cover and chair covers also resembled lovely tutus. One of my favorite parts of a wedding is the dessert table. And this one really rocks my world! The cake really steals the show with all its details in the flowers and ribbons. The snacks look sophisticated and delicious. And my favorite? The pink and white ribbons as the backdrop gives the whole table a great finish. Ballerina inspired weddings are filled with baby pinks, fluffy tutus, shiny pearls and crystals, feathers and long ribbons. Sounds like a “dream come true” kind of wedding, right? I love that this trend can be used at any location – whether it’s in the middle of a big city or in a historic location, these elements will still make your event classic and romantic. This makes me wish I continued learning ballet, so I can slip on a pair of cute ballet shoes and dance the night away!

Inspired by the nostalgia of sports fans, history and super bowls of yester-year, we went for a vintage inspired look that was team-neutral. Classic red, white, blue…and turf! The star here is clearly the “Party On Our Turf” bunting — the theme of our mock celebration. Perfect as a backdrop for some delicious eats (we’ll get to that later), hang yours with jute for easy (and manly) hanging!

Here our invitation takes center stage! We mounted ours with a little bit of gingham and cardstock — use your creativity! If not, these adorable invites would do just fine on their own, don’t you think?

Now everyone knows that staying hydrated is one of the most important parts of the game! We’ve made it that much easier to take a swig in style with these “Time to Hydrate” and “Party On Our Turf” water bottle wraps. Opting for that famous red solo cup? Keeping track of your refreshing beverage is a cinch with these “Possession” drink tags. Punch a hole in the top of your cup, tie one on and get to the game!

I love this Valentine’s Day dessert table because it is packed with ideas! Heart-shaped cookies and cookie pops, cake and cupcake toppers, candies, and my personal favorite, the heart “bunting” design piped on the cake. The key to keeping this table chic rather than kitschy is the simple white and red color palette, and the flawless organization–tips that translate to any dessert table. A party isn’t complete without a backdrop! These two examples would be easy and fun DIY projects with adorable results. For heart bunting, glue felt or fabric heart shapes onto pre-made bunting (or make your own with some fabric and ribbon), and for the garland, use a heart-shaped hole punch (available at most craft stores) to cut hearts out of any double-sided paper–newspaper, sheet music, and construction paper work perfectly. Even though these oversized heart props are for wedding pictures, I can picture them in engagement pictures, and as the cutest props ever for a Valentine’s Day party photo booth. For the reception, try to buy local. This green wedding gathered their ingredients for the reception dinner all from local farmers and gave the farmers credit on this cute homemade fence post sign.
