Trumbull, CT, October 1, 2008-Océ N.V

Highlights of the third quarter:

Total revenues Euro 700.1 million [-1.5% organically, excluding fax]

Normalized operating income Euro 16.8 million [2007: Euro 21.2 million]

One-off items of Euro 28.0 million lead to operating income of - Euro 11.2 million

Cost reduction program on track

Color increases to 26% of revenues [2007: 20%]

Comments by Rokus van Iperen, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors:
'The current turmoil in the world economy continues to put pressure on our revenues and margins. We are meeting this challenge by providing new, value adding products and services for our customers, enhancing operational excellence and continuously cutting costs aggressively. Our cost reduction program will achieve Euro 80 million savings in 2008 and an additional Euro 50 million savings in 2009. Year to date we reduced costs by Euro 59 million.

In the third quarter we continued to grow our revenues in the office, print room, display graphics and business services segments. This is a result of our consistent strategy to strengthen our product portfolio and cooperate with partners.

The financial services and construction markets are experiencing well publicized challenges. These developments are significantly impacting revenues from our continuous feed printers and technical document systems, the main cause of our decline in profitability.

Over the quarter, we have achieved rapid growth in color. We sold several multi-million euro
Océ JetStream printers and many other color systems, including the recently launched
Océ ColorWave 600.

The normalized operating income in the third quarter is positive. Due to one-off items the reported operating income is negative [- Euro 11.2 million].

In the current economic turmoil we refrain from giving an outlook for our full year income. We did however start the fourth quarter of 2008 with an order backlog comparable with last year. Continued cost savings are expected to amount to Euro 21 million in the fourth quarter. Supported by a strong focus on improving all working capital elements and by the anticipated sale of finance lease receivables, we expect a positive free cash flow for the 2008 full year.'

Océ Survey Shows Attorneys Still Grapple with Being Prepared for Legal Discovery

NEW YORK, N.Y. (September 23, 2008) -- Nearly two years after new Federal Rules of Civil Procedure took effect, a significant number of in-house attorneys (39 percent) consider their company not well prepared to comply with a legal discovery request. An even higher number of law firm attorneys (57 percent) agree that their clients are not well prepared to comply with a discovery request.

These and other key findings were spotlighted in a new survey report issued today by Océ Business Services, a leader in document process management and electronic discovery (eDiscovery) services. "The Discovery-Ready Enterprise II: Challenges and Opportunities on the Road to Litigation Preparedness" survey clarifies key challenges corporate and law firm attorneys are grappling with and offers recommendations on how to effectively meet the growing demands of legal discovery.

Not Well Prepared
Many companies are not well prepared to comply with legal discovery requests involving paper and electronic documents, according to the survey. Only seven percent of in-house attorneys surveyed declared that their company is well prepared. The survey report, however, does offer some good news in the fact that a number of organizations are seizing an opportunity by taking proactive steps to improve their preparedness. These steps include conducting a readiness analysis (49 percent), hiring employees with eDiscovery experience (29 percent) and hiring a consultant to help implement eDiscovery processes and technology.

Enterprises also face obstacles in deploying internal eDiscovery processes and technology. A significant number of in-house attorneys surveyed (42 percent) say that their company has not implemented internal eDiscovery processes or technology. Again, there is some positive news. Many companies that don't have internal eDiscovery processes or technology in place plan to change this scenario. A majority of corporate attorneys (63 percent) indicate their company plans to establish internal processes or technology in the next six to 12 months.

Océ Business Services Shares eDiscovery Best Practices and
Cost Saving Strategies at the Argyle Ex

CHICAGO, IL (September 17, 2008) - The current economic downturn is affecting all executive functions including the corporate counsel's office. With these and other challenges facing in-house counsel, Doug Bean, vice president and general manager of Océ Business Services' Records Compliance and Legal Solutions (RCLS) Division, is sharing recommendations to help enterprises attain legal discovery readiness.

Bean will offer insights as part of a panel discussion, "Controlling the Discovery Process," taking place today in Chicago at the 2008 Corporate Counsel Leadership Forum, presented by the Argyle Executive Forum. The event brings together legal leadership of approximately 125 public and private large cap and mid cap corporations.

In addition to highlighting cost saving methodologies, Bean will advise on how companies can implement electronic discovery (eDiscovery) best practices that will help them proactively prepare for legal discovery. Other topics being discussed at the Forum include creating a viable legal culture, preparing for the demands of a globally sustainable planet, and class action litigation strategies.

Bean will also be available to spotlight important facts that every legal professional should know about eDiscovery. These findings were derived from the "Dawn of the Discovery-Ready Enterprise" survey, underwritten by Océ late last year, and reflect responses from more than 100 legal professionals highly experienced in legal discovery.

Key Survey Findings

Inadequate records management is a real problem - Among surveyed attorneys at companies that have a fully implemented records program, only eight percent say their program addresses electronically stored information (ESI) very well. Among attorneys at companies that lack a fully implemented program, 26 percent say that their company has no plans to implement a program; 17 percent don?t know whether or not their company has any plans.

Being proactively prepared is critical - More than 60 percent of survey participants highly agreed that being proactively prepared for eDiscovery has critical business benefits. These benefits include reducing the risks associated with discovery; shortening the time necessary to produce documents; and lowering the cost of discovery.

Insourcing and outsourcing can = eDiscovery success - Enterprises and law firms understand that business process outsourcing is a component of an effective approach to electronic discovery readiness. Sixty percent of enterprises plan to establish a mix of internal electronic discovery expertise and external expertise.

The full "Dawn of the Discovery-Ready Enterprise" survey report is available by visiting http://www.obs-innovation.com. Océ Business Services plans to issue another "Discovery-Ready Enterprise" survey report later this month.

Océ Announces Productivity Enhancements for Océ Client Tools Software

August 14, 2008, Trumbull, CT - Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery solutions, today announced immediate availability of Océ Client Tools TM v. 2.1.1 software. This upgrade includes extensive integration, workflow and job submission feature updates to the popular Océ Client Tools free collection of batch file processing and printing utilities for architects, engineers, and designers. Océ Client Tools, part of the Océ Repro Desk® Server and Professional suite of applications, enables CAD users to simplify printing and avoid costly workflow bottlenecks via batch-processing of multiple file types, digital file previewing from the desktop before printing, and local or remote job submission.

"We listened to our customers in both the reprographic and architecture/engineering/construction (AEC) sectors and looked for ways to help them manage their print job submission tasks more easily and in less time," said Sal Sheikh, Vice President, Marketing, Wide Format Printing Systems division of Océ North America. "The upgraded Océ Client Tools software maintains its simple-to-use digital job submission interface while the added features, such as remote printing capabilities and support for color files, expand the software to a larger audience of CAD users, making Océ Client Tools software the most adept problem-solving print management solution on the market."

Key benefits and features of this release include:

Remote Printing Capabilities - Utilizing Océ's new Direct Transfer technology, Océ Client Tools v. 2.1.1 software allows users to submit print job orders via the web to reprographers who have implemented Océ Repro Desk Professional software. The HTTP print ordering method eliminates the traditional roadblocks associated with digital print submission, including FTP configuration, firewall challenges, incompatible software and email file size limits. Reprographers can also make changes to the work order, such as delivery or media options, in real-time centrally from their shop, resulting in fewer errors and faster job turnaround time.

End-to-End Digital Workflow for Color and Monochrome Documents - Océ Client Tools v. 2.1.1 software now supports processing and previewing of 24-bit color file formats, including JPG, BMP and PNG. Utilizing a combination of Océ Client Tools v. 2.1.1 and Océ Repro Desk Professional software, reprographers can now streamline color document management. After receiving a digital color file, reprographers can create "printer groups" in Océ Repro Desk Professional software that automatically route these files to the appropriate monochrome or color printer - including the Océ TCS500 and new Océ ColorWaveTM 600 color printers, both of which are now supported by Océ Repro Desk Professional software.

Océ Launches Comprehensive Suite of TransPromo Solutions and Services

August 13, 2008 - Trumbull, CT - Océ today launched a comprehensive suite of TransPromo solutions and services to help print-to-mail operations simplify the transition from standard transactional documents to value-added TransPromo communications. The suite of solutions, part of the Océ Professional Services portfolio, includes offerings ranging from TransPromo strategy development and application design to project management, implementation, training and support services to ensure a highly effective TransPromo implementation.

TransPromo, or TransPromotional documents, are hybrid communications that combine transactional documents like invoices and statements with relevant, data-driven messages tuned to customers' unique purchase patterns and preferences. The highly targeted communications embed promotional and informational content in the document's white space to strengthen customer relationships, improve retention rates, keep customers informed and capitalize on profitable cross-sell and up-sell opportunities.

In a recent study1, Print Industries Market Information and Research Organization (PRIMIR) conducted a survey of 536 consumers. The research explored 30 types of bills and statements across finance, utility, insurance and medical industries. Averaging the results from each of the document types shows that 92 percent of statements and bills are opened and read, and 22 percent are read more than once. Market research firm, INTERQUEST, in a 2008 study2, forecasts that full-color promotional transactional printing in North America will grow at an annual rate of 45 percent between 2007 and 2012, presenting a major opportunity for transactional printers. The study also cites statistics indicating that consumers spend an average of 5.6 minutes looking at bank and credit card statements they receive through the mail.

While TransPromo documents are highly effective tools for increasing the lifetime value of customer relationships, they can be complex to develop and launch. Variable data application development involving thousands or even millions of unique pages requires proper planning, access to clean, up-to-date customer data and a robust, production-class infrastructure. It also requires an understanding of variable content database management, dynamic application layout, white space management and digital color.

Océ TransPromo Solutions Ease the Transition
To help customers ease the transition from "plain vanilla" transactional documents to high-value TransPromo communications, Océ offers a toolkit of solutions and services that can be engaged on an "a la carte" or "end-to-end" basis, depending on each customer's unique needs and business objectives. These new services, part of the Océ Professional Services portfolio, are designed to simplify every aspect of developing and deploying a TransPromo initiative.

"Océ helped pioneer the convergence of data centers and print centers that enabled statements to be printed with photographs, pie charts and graphs and set the stage for the next generation of integration-today's TransPromo applications. With this new service offering, we are positioned to help our customers make the crucial transformation from pure transactional documents to TransPromo marketing communications. At the same time, our latest line up of production-class print systems and workflow software combined with extensive market expertise and an understanding of TransPromo issues ensures success and minimizes risk for customers who want to maximize their TransPromo investments," said Mal Baboyian, President, Production Printing Systems, Océ North America.

Océ Arizona 200 GT UV Curable Flatbed Printer Delivers High Quality Output for Light Production Envi

August 7, 2008 - Trumbull, CT - Océ today announced that the Océ Arizona® 200 GT UV curable flatbed printer is available for order in the United States. The Océ Arizona 200 GT printer delivers the same award-winning image quality as the Océ Arizona 250 GT printer but is configured for light production environments, making it accessible to print shops and sign makers with lower volume demands. It produces near-photographic image quality with the flexibility of printing onto both rigid substrates and roll-based, flexible media.

Proven platform, fully upgradeable
The Océ Arizona 200 GT printer is based on the Océ Arizona 250 GT platform that combines a true flatbed architecture with a separate, dedicated roll-to-roll system. It can print onto rigid media up to 49 inches wide x 98 inches long x 1.89 inches thick. By adding the Roll Media Option, users can print onto flexible media up to 87 inches wide in an automated and unattended manner.

Like the award-winning Océ Arizona 250 GT printer, the Océ Arizona 200 GT uses Océ VariaDotTM imaging technology and four-color (CMYK) UV curable inks to produce near-photographic image quality at a true production print speed (sellable prints) of 101 ft2 per hour. The availability of this new, more accessible Océ Arizona model enables smaller companies to adopt this exceptional Océ printing technology. As production volumes grow, customers can field-upgrade their Océ Arizona 200 GT printer to an Océ Arizona 250 GT printer and realize production print speeds of up to 172 ft2 per hour.

Océ VariaDot Imaging Technology for stunning image quality
The Océ Arizona 200 GT printer uses Océ VariaDot imaging technology, the next evolution of piezoelectric inkjet technology that enables a print head to produce dots of variable size versus print heads using fixed-droplet technology. Océ VariaDot technology creates these variable dots by dispensing ink droplets that vary in volume from six to 42 picoliters. The ability to vary the drop size to as little as 6 picoliters produces sharp images with smoother gradients and quarter-tones. The ability to jet larger droplets up to 42 picoliters produces dense, uniform solid colors. The result is near-photographic image quality with sharpness only before seen at resolutions of 1,440 dpi or higher.

In addition to superior image quality, Océ VariaDot imaging technology with four color inks uses significantly less ink compared to six color printers with fixed-droplet inkjet technology. The resulting lower ink consumption results in ink savings of up to 35 percent over fixed-droplet, six color printers, making it one of the most economical printers to use for sign and display applications.

True flatbed, true flexible media printer
The Océ Arizona 200 GT is a true flatbed system that uses vacuum pressure to hold media stationary on a flat surface, ensuring accurate registration even on multiple imaging passes. Full bleeds can be printed, saving time and labor costs in finishing. No minimum print size means only the necessary materials are used with no substrate waste. Unlike all other flatbed or rigid-capable printers, the Océ Arizona 200 GT prints along the long axis of rigid media to optimize throughput ? the fewer the number of printing passes over the media, the higher the average productivity.

Two Océ JetStream 1500 Systems Replace Offset Fleet at Cromwell

July 30, 2008 - Trumbull, CT - Océ announced the first European customer for the Océ JetStream™ full color inkjet printing system. Slovakia-based Cromwell ordered two Océ JetStream 1500 systems following the recent drupa printing fair. The double Océ JetStream installation will replace two of the three offset presses Cromwell uses for producing preprinted mailing shells. The first system is already installed, with the second to follow in November.

Founded in 1991, Cromwell now employs over 60 and specializes in transaction printing for a client base of large corporations and medium-sized enterprises. Among the clients are two Slovakian mobile telecommunications providers that use customer invoices printed by Cromwell. The company also works for many banks and financial service providers, producing well over 10 million A4 pages per month.

"The two Océ JetStream systems will enable us to accelerate and increase the flexibility of our entire workflow," explained Cromwell Managing Director Dalibor Malek. "We are looking to complement our traditional transaction printing services by expanding the TransPromo business. This isn't possible with offset preprints, which is why we took the decision to divest part of our offset fleet and place greater emphasis in future on digital full-color printing. To help us on our way, we need powerful systems that can deliver high quality print images - which is exactly what the Océ JetStream can do for us."

Cromwell Managing Director Marian Netri expects a complete move to digital printing to deliver efficiency gains right along the print process chain, with more flexibility, time savings in prepress, and the opportunity to individualize the full-color elements of documents as well as the black and white sections. "This possibility in particular is generating huge interest among our customers," Netri said. "The Océ JetStream fulfills all our requirements, which is why, after studying the market, we decided to go with the Océ solution."

The enormous interest in TransPromo communications reaffirmed his conviction that this is a market for the future. "You have to be at the forefront of this development to keep customers coming back in the long term," said Malek.

Besides its strategic motivation to aggressively enter the TransPromo market, Cromwell?s decision to purchase the Océ JetStream system was also influenced by its positive prior experience with Océ printers. "We are confident that Océ will also assist us effectively as we complete our transition to digital full-color printing," said Malek. "Océ knows the ins and outs of the workflow, and this is crucial to us, particularly in the migration phase."

About the Océ JetStream family
The Océ JetStream family offers excellent quality full-color output at speeds from 675 to 2,700 A4 impressions per minute. The Océ JetStream family includes five systems, with an easy upgrade path to higher models in the family. With this migration path, Océ offers a future-proof concept for enterprises aiming for growth in direct mail, transaction printing, TransPromo, newspaper printing and other applications where speed and outstanding quality are make-or-break issues.

The 328 fpm Océ JetStream 750 system is the entry-level model in the Océ JetStream family. It can deliver up to 714 full color letter-size ipm at 600x600 dpi. The Océ JetStream 1500 system produces 1,428 full-color letter-size ipm in two-up duplex format. Rounding out the family are systems for speeds of up to 2,010 A4 pages (Océ JetStream 2200) and 2,700 A4 pages per minute (Océ JetStream 3000).

Sixty Students Complete Third Annual Océ Future Authors Writing Workshop

Boca Raton, FL - Their pens were flying and ears perked as about 60 lucky students from middle and high schools throughout Palm Beach County, including 10 Glades area students who participated via distance learning, received writing tips from such well-known local authors as Jonathon King, Margaret Ahnert, and James O. Born.

The free eight-day writing workshop held at Boca Raton High School was offered for the third year as part of the Océ Future Authors Writing Project, a collaborative effort by Océ North America and the School District of Palm Beach County. During the summer workshop students become published authors, learn how to improve their writing skills, gain hands-on understanding of how authors are published, and learn about today's digital print and publishing opportunities.

Students gain insight through interactions with Océ executives, as well as published authors, who lead interactive discussions with the students. The day-long sessions are taught by certified Palm Beach County teachers, who conduct daily writing exercises, coaching sessions and writing practice. Works from each student are then compiled and digitally printed in final book form by Boca Raton-based Océ North America Production Printing Systems division. The book will be unveiled at a book signing event in November.

One Future Author, Blithe Parsons, who will be a freshman this fall at Wellington High School, enjoyed the workshop because it gave her the chance to write freely and uninterrupted for more than an hour each class.

"Personally, I loved the workshop," she said. "One of my dreams is to become a published author, so I plan to apply what the authors discussed, like writing every day and being persistent."

Océ Business Services Shares Tips to Help Businesses
Implement "Green" Document Management Practic

New York (July 14, 2008) - With recent industry surveys indicating that businesses want to be more environmentally responsible, Océ Business Services is sharing recommendations to help enterprises implement more eco-friendly practices across the document lifecycle (document creation through disposal). Océ has been ranked by the Black Book of Outsourcing as a Top 50 outsourcing vendor cited by clients for demonstrating the "highest green credentials."

Océ clients concerned about the environment, such as Bremer Financial Services, are acknowledging the company's efforts. "We implemented a green campaign as a joint effort between the Bremer Facilities Group and Océ Business Services to reduce paper usage," notes Dolores Hoffman, supervisor of administrative services and facilities management for Bremer Facilities Department. "Through initiatives such as moving print production to copiers that can print on both sides of a page, we have significantly reduced paper consumption and realized thousands of dollars in cost savings."

Océ Business Services' sustainability practices and recommendations cover the document lifecycle, including print/copy management, document imaging, fleet management, document needs assessment, records management, mail management, and electronic discovery. Océ offers the following guidelines designed to help organizations initiate print/copy management practices in the office that can benefit the environment and reduce costs:

The workgroup alternative
To the extent possible, replacing personal desktop printers with workgroup MFPs (multifunction peripherals that combine print/copy/scan/fax functionality in one machine) shared by departments can have a strong positive impact. One financial services company replaced 1,100 copiers and printers and 1,000 fax machines with 400 MFPs. The initiative eliminated 1,700 machines that no longer consume resources based on their manufacture, transportation, operation, maintenance, and eventual disposal.

Adopt scanning practices
Rather than copy and store physical documents, organizations can scan and store electronically. Employees retain digital copies that they can distribute electronically, and at the same time avoid accumulating files filled with paper. As a conservative estimate, scanning can reduce paper consumption by one to three percent.

Default to duplex
Most multi-page documents don?t require the text to be printed on one side of the page. Newspapers, magazines and books use both sides (duplex printing). With effective fleet management it is possible to change office practices and make duplex printing of multi-page documents the norm. This can potentially decrease paper use by up to 50 percent.

Turn off document headers
Document headers are pages that contain identifying information and precede every print job. If headers are turned on by default, every print job will consume an extra sheet of paper. If headers are turned off for all users, organizations can reduce general office paper consumption by an estimated 18 to 28 percent according to Océ Business Services client analyses.

Bulk up
Buying paper and toner in bulk can reduce transportation, packaging, and storage resources. Buying in bulk also often results in cost savings.

Leverage "smart" technologies
Enterprises can use MFP "smart" technologies such as Personal Mail Box, Fax-from-Desktop, Scan-to-Email/File Folder, and Document Routing in order to decrease paper and chemicals used in printing. This can reduce paper usage by up to three percent.

Océ announces Second Quarter 2008 Results

Trumbull, CT, July 3, 2008 ? Océ N.V.

Highlights:

- Revenues down due to economic developments and exchange rate effects
- Gross margin, excluding one-off items, increases to 40.2% [2007: 39.7%]
- Operating income, excluding one-off items, Euro 20.2 million [2007: Euro 29.6 million]
- Savings program further expanded

Comments by Rokus van Iperen, chairman of the Board of Executive Directors:

The adverse economic conditions again impacted our markets in the second quarter and therefore affected our results. Sales of continuous feed systems decreased, due in part to developments in the financial sector. The slowdown in the construction sector in the United States is continuing and is now also making itself felt more in Europe. In this segment we sold fewer wide format printers than in the same period of last year.

A positive factor is that we were able in the second quarter to continue to grow in the office and printroom market, the wide format graphics market and in Business Services. This growth results from our strategy of continuously investing in strengthening our distribution power and in an innovative and competitive product portfolio.

The improvement of our business processes and the resultant reduction in our costs is the third main thrust of our strategy. The savings program announced in April will reduce the costs in 2008 by Euro 80 million. In the first half of 2008 savings of Euro 20 million were achieved. Of the reduction of 350 jobs that was announced in April, 80% has meanwhile been completed.

In response to the economic situation and elaborating on the program of 2008, we have identified in the past period further possibilities for cost savings, which will lead to an additional decrease in costs of Euro 50 million in 2009. As part of these savings about 600 extra jobs will be discontinued. We have started on the implementation of this.

Océ Helps Spectrum Digital Services Expand Packaging Services and Increase Margins by 25 Percent

June 26, 2008 - Trumbull, CT- Océ announces that Spectrum Digital Services, LLC has strengthened its competitive position and increased margins by 25 percent with the Océ CS650 full color digital printer. Wisconsin-based Spectrum Digital Services is a pioneer in printed, recordable CDs and DVDs, and now the company can print sleeve packaging in-house, resulting in some of the fastest guaranteed turnaround times in the industry. Today Spectrum Digital Services is a one-stop source for marketing and ad agencies, medical facilities, religious groups and many others that need short runs of customized, sleeve-packaged disc media.

"The Océ CS650 helps us consistently meet requirements for color fidelity, accuracy and reliability, while delivering the industry's shortest lead times. I can promise 48-hour turnaround and charge a premium," said Russ Gnant, President and CEO of Spectrum Digital Services. "Printing that was outsourced is now handled in-house at Spectrum Digital Services, and the monthly savings are significant. The ability to add packaging has grown our margins by 25 percent, increasing our competitiveness because we can do large projects quickly and also handle the very small quantities that many customers need."

"The Océ CS650 has changed the business model of Spectrum Digital Services in a way that ensures a long-term advantage. The competitive success of Spectrum Digital Services shows how the Océ Job Appropriate Color® strategy can add value in many different markets and applications. By helping companies get exactly the level of color quality they need in quantities at an attractive cost, Spectrum Digital Services has increased profitability and established a unique niche that continues to attract customers," said Brian Dollard, Director of Color Programs, Océ Document Printing Systems.

The 65-ppm Océ CS650 printer can handle a variety of media, including the heavier 280 gm paper needed for stiff CD sleeve packaging. The system prints two- and four-panel CD sleeves, zipper packets for mailings, and high impact communications for trade show handouts, direct mail, multimedia materials and other applications.

Spectrum Digital Services is one of the few companies in the country that does short-run sleeve printing in-house. Before deploying the Océ CS650, they were forced to outsource printing, cutting and folding, which added time and cost. Also, many outside printers wouldn?t handle the 200- to 300-piece orders that make up the bulk of Spectrum Digital Services jobs. Instead customers would have to order far more sleeves than were needed and incur wasted overruns. Now Spectrum Digital Sservices can complete both large and small jobs quickly in-house. A large 10,000-piece job that might have taken up to ten days to produce before can be delivered in as few as two days.

The Océ CS650 extends Spectrum Digital Services capabilities for custom labelling and provides more control to ensure that disc and sleeve printing match. Before, customers would provide components that might not match the other printing in the package. The consistency and accuracy of the Océ CS650 printer have improved the ability to help customers with branding and corporate identity.

Océ Business Services Highlights eDiscovery/Records Management Solutions at LegalTech

LOS ANGELES (June 25, 2008) - Océ Business Services will demonstrate eDiscovery solutions this week at the LegalTech West Coast conference as well as address topics covered at the show that will include paper and electronic records, computer forensics, and records management.

At this year's legal technology conference, which runs June 26-27 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, experts from the Océ Records, Compliance and Legal Solutions (RCLS) division will demonstrate the company's dataDeliverῶ ASP document review system, a web-based tool that provides collaborative review and production of scanned paper and electronic files. RCLS division executives also will be on hand in booth #217 to share insights, information and best practices that drive effective eDiscovery and records management practices. The LegalTech West Coast conference is a premiere event that updates legal professionals on key legal technologies, products, and services.

"This year's event focuses on two important areas in which we provide expertise, eDiscovery and records management," said Elizabeth Halaki, chief marketing officer for Océ Business Services. "Our recent industry research reveals that these two advanced document management practices provide high-value business benefits that include enhancing compliance, improving operational efficiency, and reducing costs."

Key Research Findings
The executives at the Océ Business Services booth also will be available to detail key insights every legal professional should know about eDiscovery. These findings were derived from the "Dawn of the Discovery-Ready Enterprise" survey, underwritten by Océ late last year, and reflect responses from more than 100 legal professionals highly experienced in legal discovery:

Inadequate records management is a real problem - Among surveyed attorneys at companies that have a fully implemented records program, only eight percent say their program addresses electronically stored information (ESI) very well. Among attorneys at companies that lack a fully implemented program, 26 percent say that their company has no plans to implement a program and 17 percent simply don't know whether or not their company has any plans.

Being proactively prepared is critical - More than 60 percent of survey participants highly agreed that being proactively prepared for eDiscovery has critical business benefits. These benefits include reducing the risks associated with discovery; shortening the time necessary to produce documents; and lowering the cost of discovery.

Insourcing + outsourcing can = eDiscovery success - Enterprises and law firms understand that business process outsourcing is a component of an effective approach to electronic discovery readiness. Sixty percent of enterprises plan to establish a mix of internal electronic discovery expertise and external expertise.

The full "Dawn of the Discovery-Ready Enterprise" survey report is available at booth #217 or by visiting www.obs-innovation.com.

dataDeliver Demonstration
Océ Business Services will demonstrate its dataDeliver ASP platform, a proprietary hosted data delivery tool that enables collaborative review, search and production of case documents.

dataDeliver provides a sophisticated set of litigation management tools that allows attorneys to:

use a secure, Web-based repository for searchable access to millions of documents by high-volume simultaneous users anytime, anywhere

easily identify case-relevant data of all types

separate records in seconds, classify according to criteria as well as redact and annotate

Océ Documents Environmental Leadership with Latest Sustainability Report

June 2, 2008 - Trumbull, CT - Océ announced today that it continues its leadership in environmental sustainability with the release of its 2007 Sustainability Report. The report documents Océ achievements in delivering sustainable technology and environmentally sound policies. The 2007 Sustainability Report explains Océ use and re-use of components, energy and water consumption, waste handling and emissions, as well as human and environmental safety.

"We are proud to share our 2007 Sustainability Report with the marketplace and demonstrate our commitment to the environment. Océ maximizes reuse of materials and minimizes emissions of ozone, dust and toner to help customers print in the most productive way possible and reduce energy consumption per print," said Joseph Skrzypczak, President and CEO, Océ North America, Inc. "Our development programs look at environmental impact across the entire product cycle, from product development, manufacturing, use and reuse through to the processing of waste and residual materials."

Océ pursues sustainable approaches across many areas. A number of Océ products comply with the stringent criteria set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY STAR® program, which promotes energy efficiency and economical use of paper in office equipment to reduce combustion-related air pollution.

Customers who are concerned with environmental issues have acknowledged Océ's efforts. "Océ has been recognized for its social and environmental responsibility by a number of international organizations, and we appreciate that this commitment has been carried through products like the Océ JetStream? system," noted Don McKenzie, CEO of Océ customer Direct Group.
Océ writes the book on digital printing with 'Roll Over Gutenberg'

May 30, 2008-Trumbull, CT; Düsseldorf, Germany - Océ announced that it will produce a fully-finished mixed black & white and color book live at the Océ drupa 2008 stand. The book, "Roll Over Gutenberg," relates the fascinating history of books through the ages, chronicling the past, present and future of the book and the book industry.

The book illustrates milestones in printing, paper manufacture and publishing, exploring the changing book publishing business model. It traces the development of technologies that have driven the evolution of the book market, and resulting social and commercial implications. "Roll Over Gutenberg" examines traditional book printing and publishing models, highlighting how book printers, publishers and retailers are leveraging digital technology to rewrite the rules of book printing and publishing.

In the mid 1400s, an inventive German by the name of Johannes Gutenberg introduced a disruptive technology that displaced the existing practices of hand-copying and woodblock printing. With his revolutionary invention, "movable type", text could be infinitely replicated, enabling the mass production of books. Before Gutenberg, only the elite, wealthy and scholarly had access to reading materials. With the ability to produce books in mass quantities, prices dropped dramatically and books became accessible to the masses, igniting a social, cultural and scientific revolution.

Fast-forward just over 500 years. Today, digital book printing technologies are revolutionizing the book supply chain once again. Today, companies like Océ offer a varied portfolio of advanced digital printing systems that bring more color, speed, and efficiency to the world of printing. Just as Gutenberg's press enabled the mass production of books, digital technology is transforming the traditional book printing and publishing business model. Océ Vice President of Graphic Arts, Peter Wolff, suggests that digital book printing changes the supply chain in three ways. It enables book lifecycle management, where runs alternate between offset and digital based on the stage of a title's lifecycle. It enables books to be printed on demand (sell first, then print in a quantity of one) and in short runs (print first, then sell in smaller runs). And it eliminates the traditional value chain, specifically the inventory function of wholesalers.

As a result, stakeholders across the supply chain, including book printers, publishers, sellers, authors, self-publishers and even consumers, are realizing the benefits of digital technology. With digital technology, printers and publishers no longer have to print long runs to reduce unit costs. They can print ultra-short runs profitably, reducing production and transaction costs while expanding market opportunity and improving margins.

By printing books on demand or in shorter, more frequent runs, publishers can reduce overruns, minimize risk, improve cash flow, breathe new life into backlist titles and print advance reader copies at a fair price, while minimizing environmental impact. Furthermore, they no longer have to maintain unwieldy inventories and can eliminate the costs of managing returns and write-downs. Booksellers can offer a larger catalog of books for immediate delivery, providing readers with more choice and authors and self-publishers with new opportunities to see their works published. In short, digital technology delivers quickly, with high quality and a relatively low unit cost and the benefit of reduced or no inventory.

New Models Expand Range of Breakthrough Océ JetStream Color Inkjet Family

MAY 29, 2008 - Trumbull, CT; Düsseldorf, Germany - Océ announced the introduction of three new models in the groundbreaking high-speed Océ JetStream™ full-color inkjet line. The Océ JetStream family now offers high quality full-color output speeds ranging from 675 to 2,700 A4 impressions per minute (ipm), with easy upgradeability throughout the family.

The Océ JetStream series redefined productivity and quality standards for ultra-high-volume, full-color production printing when it was introduced in 2007. The newly expanded Océ JetStream portfolio is positioned to meet customer requirements in terms of color quality, speed and duty cycles. The latest models expand the entry points for print operations that want to adopt the Océ JetStream platform for direct mail, transaction, TransPromo and other applications needing fast, outstanding black and white or color quality. The groundbreaking series was launched in 2007 with the 492 feet per minute (fpm) Océ JetStream 1100 single-engine system and the Océ JetStream 2200 twin system. Now the Océ JetStream 1100 and Océ JetStream 2200 models are joined by the new Océ JetStream 750, Océ JetStream 1500 and Océ JetStream 3000 systems.

With its 328 fpm speed, the new Océ JetStream 750 system is the entry-level model in the Océ JetStream family. It can deliver up to 714 full color letter-size ipm at 600x600 dpi. The new Océ JetStream 1500 produces 1,428 full-color letter-size ipm in two-up duplex format.

Rounding out the family at the high end is the new Océ JetStream 3000 system at 656 fpm with a resolution of 480x600 dpi, making it the one of the world's fastest full-color digital printers in its class. The Océ JetStream 3000 system can blaze through jobs at a rate of 2,865 full-color letter-size ipm in two-up duplex format. This is equivalent to a duty cycle of up to 86 million pages per month and a monthly paper throughput of more than twenty million feet per month. The new Océ JetStream 3000 system can deliver 600x600 dpi at 150 mpm providing additional flexibility to meet customer requirements for exceptional quality. The series uses Océ DigiDot? piezoelectric inkjet technology, which varies drop sizes to deliver brilliant images, smoother halftones, stunning color and superior page coverage.

"The market response to the Océ JetStream platform has been very good. Customers now have a wider range of options to help grow their business with full color inkjet printing. The attractive price point of the Océ JetStream technology enables advanced color capabilities that are in high demand in the marketplace," said Sebastian Landesberger, Executive Vice President Production Printing. "As with the other Océ JetStream models, the new systems are upgradeable, ensuring investment protection as well as room to expand capabilities. With the Océ JetStream family, customers can be confident that the Océ platform can grow with them. A customer could actually launch their full-color inkjet services with an Océ JetStream 750 system and grow into the maximum speed of an Océ JetStream 3000 system."
