“Be a Man” – Randy Macho Man Savage, RIP

Today the world lost a Randy “Macho Man” Savage to a car accident. I have many fond memories of watching him on the WWF growing up and slinging Slim Jims. What most people don’t know is Macho Man put out a rap album in 2003 that a dear friend blessed with me with several years ago. The album is awesome and takes me back to the good old days.

In “Be a Man” he is calling out Hulk Hogan, take a listen:

Sadly this gem of an album doesn’t appear to be on Amazon MP3 or iTunes but you can buy the CD on Amazon. (Pricey but a true collectors item)

Note: It is sad that it took Macho Man’s death to bring me back to this blog. After wearing myself out getting the Christmas stuff up, a battle with kidney stones and Moustache March, I didn’t have anything left. Hopefully I will get back to keeping you entertained on a more regular basis.

Festival of Randomness – Amazingly Awkward Christmas Vol. 3

Well here is Vol. 3 and I am sad to say I currently don’t have my witty interludes to share with you. This album was done in 2007 and apparently I didn’t save the digital copy very well. My amazing mother did have a copy but I used stick on CD labels and it did not last very well (I managed to destroy her copy trying to get my MacBook Pro to read it). So at least I was able to get the track list together and it is another classic.

Christmas from Amazon Music

Apparently Amazon loves Christmas music as much as I do. They are running some sweet deals right now on a huge selection of Christmas gems.

First of all somehow I missed that they are doing “25 Days of Free” Christmas songs counting down to the big day. There are definitely some artists I haven’t heard of but there are some notable songs from the likes of Chris Isaak and the Christmas staple, Mannheim Steamroller.

Amazon has also managed to pull out 100 different Christmas albums for $5 each. Granted some of the choices aren’t probably worth 5 bucks there are some really great deals. If I was you and had $5 to spend on one of these albums, I would probably opt for the Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass Christmas album (I already own it). It is a truly magical group of songs that will make resisting the Christmas spirit impossible!

While you are over there take a look around their Christmas music section there are some other sweet deals as well. I was pretty shocked to find Mariah Carey’s new Christmas album from an earlier post, in an exclusive Amazon exclusive version for only $2.99

Christmas in Hollis – Denver Nuggets

Yeah you read that title right. Apparently the Denver Nuggets of the NBA have started a new tradition for the holidays. In my research (about 2 minutes worth) it looks like this is their second venture into the world of Christmas music and it is a huge improvement over last years rendition of Winter Wonderland.

This year they covered Run DMC’s classic “Chritmas in Hollis” (One of my favorites as mentioned in posts past. The video is on the NBA’s site so you have to watch a short commercial first but it is well worth it. I am a Blazer season ticket holder but have a soft spot for the Nuggets due to them employing the impressive Chris “Birdman” Anderson.

Track in the Box – Christmas Music Advent Calendar
