February. Its now synonymous with one international event called the Valentine's Day. Every year I get requests to think of "out of the box" ideas for Valentines day. My parents included. Being my Fantabulous creative self, I cannot resist giving a few ideas I wished were applied on me. (but would never admit).

This year I am opening up my heart and mind to a possibility of experiencing a sappy, mushy romance just for the valentine month. Just to answer my curiosities. Then, drama happened. (As usual) A friend of mine told me that Mumbai celebrates every festival with Pomp and Galour. All except for the Valentines Day as its meant to be celebrated. That surprised me or a while. Then political reasons backed with the ever alert "Moral Police" can to the forefront. Meh! That's how they show their love for Indian Culture. That's why its only during Valentines day that they show up.

Marketing guys have a field day in making you believe that Valentine's is the day for the confessions and declarations of amour du jour (love of the day). Be it the Roses or the cards or the stuffed toys or even jewelry. You have to gift something in order to say you really love the person or else you don't deserve a chance in Hell! Okay, I'm being dramatic here but who doesn't get dramatic on Valentine's Day? Even thought today's just Rose Day and not Valentine's, I see so many suckers fall into this trap. Poor Guys and sometimes the lovestruck damsels. What can I say? I want to be on both sides of the river at the same time. Logically and romantically.

So I ask of you. One, who actually went through the post. Will you be my Valentine? I want a dozen roses (Yellow) and a box of chocolates/Brownies and a new charger for my Macbook. That's all!
Colleges have one thing that everyone unanimously looks forward to. Apart from the "potential suitor syndromes", Its the College festivals. This year, my college too is looking forward to one. Starting this year, we have MADMA (Mumbai ADvertising and MArketing) Festival.

I am not here to sit an promote it. Nope. Instead, I'm thinking of what makes it special. I am in the Marketing, Creative and college co-ordination teams. (lot of work) And this is not voluntary. It's because I'm fabulous. (self-promotion-I know!) Anyhow, because of being in so many teams, I've got to see the internal workings of the fest. I must appreciate the amount of work that goes into it especially if its a first time event. We have to set the standards and, make such an impact that it is felt in the following years as well.

There is activity and restlessness in every mind. There is energy abound every corner. My classmates cannot not think about MADMA. It seems like every person is enthused with a feeling of letting this event be the one thing that leaves us with lots of memories and better organisational skills too! A win-win situation I say!

The Fest is scheduled on the 11-12 Feb. I really hope this is the big event that every one really remembers.

Okay. I admit I swore to blog at least once a month but have been inconsistent. I guess it happens with every blogger. Established or like me- amateur bloggers. Reason: Net issues.

Yeah! I mean it. It was not the usual lack of time or the “writer’s block” criteria but rather I have a lot to say but I never had the reach to the outlet.

Today what I have to say is, um… where do I start? My Mumbai miss-adventures? I think I could do a series on that! (Inspired!) Or, the realisation that things you have been running from all your life is gonna hit you in the face? Or, how I have found the need to explain myself?

I think I’ll go for the last option. "Need to explain.”

Since my move to Mumbai, I haven’t felt so lost. I love the buzz. The energy and the history on my side of the city. The heart and the Germ of the city Bombay that became Mumbai. I like being a person from Bombay rather than Mumbai coz there is a world of difference. Yes, there is a difference of attitude, perception and class! I heart SoBo. (South Bombay)

Now, what is it that I don’t like? Well, the cost of living is a truth that is well documented. Hence, my saying that at the end of money, I have the month left isn’t a farce. I don’t cook anymore. Why? My house-mates. (Inspiration for another series!)
So, I have this quest of searching for cheap food places which please my Hyderabadi Appetite. This is of prime importance coz I’m living the life of a student. Budget cuts happen everyday! That’s no biggie. I have managed to find a few quaint place and “hole-in-the-wall” places which serve palatable food. The issue is company.

I am a person who lives off networking. I need to meet new people so that I know that there are people of all kinds. That motivates me to do better. That’s because people are either better or worse than you are at the moment and I am ambitious enough to want to out do them. I have friends (I think) from college. But, the whole week everyone is running around and weekends, the only time we all sleep like as if on tranquilisers. So, when the need to eat arises, I need friends in the near vicinity to accompany me. That way, great food, great company and cost cutting-achieved. I did meet a few people who lived just down the road and supposedly believed in the same idea-"Cheap food and great company on weekends save lives.” However, when I look for company, there isn’t any around. The friends from the road never show up! They take the phone number, promise to meet up, set up plans and once I land up at the place, they aren’t there.

People, I’m not looking for dates! I just want somebody to share the bill and talk to. And that too not about which assignment is due or, which lecturer needs to relax or, such stuff. I just wanna say, "The food is good! Dude! Let’s pig out everyday!" We all need friends. I need to make new friends but the people I meet are so wound up in the tiny worlds. Sometimes, I think even the houses here have more space than the minds. I don’t get it. Why make plans if you cannot stick to them? Why try being nice when you know you cannot be it. If people I meet are such losers, where is the passion to go wild and reckless? Where is the spirit of competition when you’re among those who are sore and bitter?

I need to find friends who help create a symbiotic nurturing of love, talent, wit and humour. Food and money is what we all as people of the rat race run after. But, hold onto the very things that makes us human and not Rats!

I love anything that has to do with music and this, was a chance to be there for my class. Well, there was a party scheduled too. The whole idea was to move away from the assignments and let us all bond out of class. This was the perfect excuse.

Venue: Hard Rock Café. I realize I am mentioning this name repeatedly. That's because the impact is still very fresh. I am from Hyderabad. The only city in the world to have 2 Hard Rock Cafes or, as we usually call them, HRCs. Coming from a place that that has such strong Rock music fan base, the HRC here in Mumbai would have to have me floored. Well, apart from the enthralling performances of my fellow classmate and his band- “Beat-route”, the restaurant did surprise me.

This was the first HRC to open in India and it surely had to make its mark in a cosmopolitan city like Mumbai. The whole restaurant can seat over 150 people and it was huge! The whole atmosphere was electric. Rock music is a serious business in the Hard Rock café. After all they even named themselves so. The walls are not mere walls. A flourshing city that was once a little town where I found home. How did it come to be so?

Dad, has a job that requires him to frequently move. I was born in one town, moved all around the country. Made friends, changed schools, changed associations and such. But one thing that remained constant was my Hyderabad connect. It earlier was "my native place". You know, the indian equivalent of a vacation when every summer you go to Nanna-amma's (grandma's) place or as I, called her, Naamma. whether I was in Bangalore or Delhi or Lucknow, Hyderabad was the place to be during vacations.

However, this little native place became, my permanent home on June 20, 2000. Dad had relocated here. After years of being all over the place, Hyderabad was now going to be the changing point in my life.

First, I got into a school which was very different from my older schools. This was as Telugu-rooted as it could get. There were different prayers for everyday of the week and did not have a typical school prayer book. I thought I had a basic command over telugu. After all, its my mother tongue! Alas, I found myself at a loss for so many words! I did not know what kind of jokes the kids in class were cracking or what the aaya was telling me. The teachers were more like maternal figures than the typical disciplinarians. I for once found friends who made me lose my inhibitions and let me be. In earlier schools, I hade made friends but they all involuntarily had a time limit to my friendship with them. (Pre-facebook - email times!) These guys had somehow made me want to stay on longer and my wish was granted!! I completed my schooling in the 8th school I had joined. I was now going to attend Junior College here in Hyderabad. And then, my college education too!!

I have managed to complete my schooling and college education in one city! The same city of Hyderabad.

I now had friends from the educational institutions I studied in and, remain in contact with. I have memories of Biryani and irani chai. Now when the train pulls away form the station, the reality of me moving is getting stronger.

There are many who are away from home and are living independently. This is not what scares me but the fact that I’ll move away from everyone I have found a personal connection with over the years is going to fade away. Sure, there are opportunities to meet new people and find a new connect. I’ve always known this since I was a kid.

Now, if it were a flight out of town, it would be like a quick as taking off a band aid. And, when it's a train, as you begin to lose network coverage, you’ll also realize that the contacts on your phone are now going to be long distance calls and you have to “take time” to contact them.

On one hand, I have been looking to further my career prospects and lead an ambitious life and on the other, I want to remain cuccooned in the lovely city of Naa Hyderabad.
Thankfully I do have a Hydie connect in Mumbai. The very friends who inspired me to start this blog!

Casting Ouch!

Today, I had a revelation. It might be funny to you but it was a scary moment for me. I felt victimized for the first time. But then T was there with me or else I wouldn't have been the same. Ever.

It was daytime. The office was quiet. The receptionist at the front lobby was typing away. Could be her new status update. I don't know. Through the distant room at the end of a corridor was a room. A room like no other. An old fan was hanging low from the ceiling and the only lighting was of a tube-light shining onto a fake wood table. The man behind the desk was seated in a high back chair. once he turned around to welcome me and my friend T, I got chills running down my spine. He was no ordinary mortal. he was a monster in the garb of one. His paan-stained teeth and his blood shot eyes were proof of his nocturnal ventures around town. He spoke in a flat tone showing no emotion but that of lust. He seemed to be preparing for the kill tonight. For he had found his prey very recently. The prey had innocently walked past us when we entering the lonely corridor.

We had come to the eerie stake house in search of the glory in Bollywood. But what lies beneath is the murky underbelly of the casting couch in the supposed "training room". The man was a hungry wolf who lusted at the lissome women who became his victims of the nights. And the men who came in were made to bear witness to it all. And maybe even bear the weight of the truth.

This man made a hollow promise. A promise of glamour and stardust. But as long as you were, "Funky" and "promising". All one had to do was sign up for it and you'd be amongst the many to be loved on screen, who's voices echoed the dark theatres when the male protagonist made his appearance. Yes, you'd be one of the many in a crowd. But this man promised a moment on the spotlight. He was sticking to his word. It would be a moment. And, moment if at all in the spotlight would be as a Junior Artist for an upcoming film.

And he never let his eyes off of the women in front of him because then he could prey for long in hopes of infamy... I got really nervous. I never thought of myself being in the spotlight for the such leeches. Did I have to come here? And, for what? A summer gig in PR. I thought it should be easy.
Thankfully T was there with me and, I could stay away from it all and leave away into the safety of the city streets where people were busy living the honest life. (In short, we faked a call and ran!)

Wonder how many are facing this ordeal... in all the starlight cities. The Casting Ouches!!

Not!

Hello, Whassup? Heylos!

These days, we are connected to each other more than ever. With Facebook, twitter and such social networks, and we do exactly what the platform is for. We network.

Be it for our jobs or for good ol' nostalgia. To stay in touch who are far of or, even those who happen to be neighbours. Sure, meeting them face to face is getting uncommon, but then, we have to add them to the "social network".

My point is, what did we do before this networking. why go into the past? what do we do today? Before you ask, why bother? I'll tell ya...

I recently deavtivated my FB profile because it was too much of networking, poking, playing games and sharing midnight birthday wishes. More than I could handle. Now, I'm here on a weeknight, where my friends an family are catching up on the well deserved beauty sleep. I also want to catch up on some sleep but am not yet sleepy.

This gives me some downtime to think. What do you do when you aren't felling sleepy and have the people you talk to till wee hours in the night, fast asleep? I write, or watch TV. With the Infomercials guarantee-ing a better lifestyle at half the price, its nice to know what i'm missing out on if I, don't have that beautiful orange coloured bottle of water from the Fountain of youth!

But here I ask you again. What do you do?

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://dhavsmailo.blogspot.com/2011/04/youre-sleeeepy-not.html' title='You're sleeeepy! Sitting beside your knee,
When will you utter,
" for you, it's everything I will be”?

The moments are a-passing,
The little heart's a-beating.
Sounding away from your reality,
All I can see is you are fleeting.
Like the moon,
my memories waning.
When will you whisper? Simply because i was blanked out. Now i am back after having had a long new year bash and a Valentine Wishlist being published. (That’s right-Me officially published!) Its Mid-March and I did something. I went on a vacation on my own! It was in Mumbai where I stayed over at a very generous friend’s house. Generous? 3 days of binge drinking and sitting sober. (true story!) That’s how I spent a weeklong of Me-Time! The year of the Rabbit does suit me after all! All about spending some me time especially after slogging it out in an office. In case of emergency, i was available in the office. Now, I at home. Doing absolutely nothing but getting myself together and actually figuring out what is it that I want! Do i want the bg moolah to spend on frivolous purchases or to seek out the reason for my now-finite creativity? Well, I also need to do a specialization. THe question reared its ugly head. what exactly? Advertising or PR? Communication studies or new Media Studies or your fanatasy of Film studies where you’d end up being despised as a critic?
Nothing new I could say. Why?
We have the same old New Year Resolutions and vows to ourselves for a better versions of what we are. They might not even survive post a week of celebratory felicitations.
But I still have made one. One to shut up! If you know me, you'd know it a gargantuan task. However, when I say I will shut up, I mean I will not talk out of turn, and not post random comments on Facebook. I will try to be a better listener to my friends and maybe the family too. I ramble a lot and you can see the posts I have put up are lots of the rambling rants.

Again, don't these rambling rants become fodder for the inane? I think so. So what the heck! I'll do the only thing I happen to be bearable at. And that is Ramble in the Bronx!
So much for a new year resolution! Ha!

When I grow up...

As a kid, we are all asked what we would like to be when we grow up. The generic answers being teacher, doctor, lawyer or astronaut. depending on our immediate environment. However, there are a few kids who say the darndest things like a rockstar, cricketer or one of the three musketeers (some have been mouseketeers, but getting to the point). We all are expected to have jobs that we have been subconsciously trained to do. How? when was the last time you went ahead to your parent and said, I want to be a wildlife photographer. I'm sure if you happen to be an Asian kid, you've got glares that are colder than the arctics. That's because, according to them, you are a kid who doesn't know the "value" of a desk job where you are in a cushy job.

I quit my job. I am not saying you should too but I haven't been happier. I've made an impression alright. An impression of my derriere on the seat. Nothing else. I never took leaves, been to office on time, yada yada yada... Then my friends struck me. Not the realisation mind you. (It dawned on me after I left!)

I was working and getting cozy in the warm security blanket the company was offering but, was I happy? Did I truly lead myself into believing that I was living the hi-life? Guilty as charged.

I studied and earned a degree in Mass communications because as a 14 year old, i knew i wanted to be in Media. whatever form as long as it was creatively satisfying. As a 22 year old, I am now letting go of the gumption and letting my parents decide that a cushy job is better than being between jobs and creative passions are weekend affairs! My aims to be a travel writer or a photographer are now being regaled as a journalist for a local newspaper by my parents. I guess i am at fault here.

I am inspired to do something different. I need to take hold of my life and not be like them and say," I wish my parents let me be a successful copywriter." I am on a break from my boring corporate self and letting the inner bohemian do her thing! Even the voices in my head are cheering me on!

When I grow up, I want to be my 14 year old self!

Looking back at my past, I see that a lot has changed over the years.

Meeting up the friends from your childhood is like looking back at a time of innocence when everything was just right. And the only thing of concern was the scoldings we'd get for misdemeanor.

Cherished...

Today was a day I met up with a few of my cherished friends. Who grew up and are living lives that we are dreaming of that we would achieve. But there was something I saw in all of us. A sense of comfort that couldn't be shared with anyone else! I did not have to say what's happening but just give an overview that life is good or not so good. And they understood. No questions asked and that felt so complete. I couldn't have asked for more. I knew they were there for sharing and creating memories. Nothing else!

Picking up threads of conversation when we last left off! Even if it meant it was a conversation we had a couple of years ago! Everything was just right. No one to impress and act oh-so-correctly! We ate finger food with cutlery just because we felt like it! Sat in the corner of the bookstore, made it a world of our own where no one disturbed us. Hammering out the frustrations that the rest of the gang dint show up!

I felt so much like the child I had begun to forget in the daily rigmarole of life. We had so much to pretend and dance and sing and shout about! We were doing things because we felt like it and not because it was supposed to happen as per the agenda. I mean no itinerary! We just went wherever we wanted to. Even if it meant fall (sorry-V). We drove around the city where the "kids and parents" wouldn't cramp our style!

Where has all this wonderment and excitement drained out? Is it the realization that we are now grown ups and need to act the part? But why can't we still be so excited about every morning and, be amazed at the clouds shaped as a rabbits scampering across the sky? I don't want to be treated like a kid but would definitely not want to lose the age of innocence when mom's hug and dad's shoulders were the only things needed to fight the rude neighbourhood kids? Well, I guess we have to get off the roller coaster and say, "Whoa! Awesome! Lets go on it again!" or else we'd never know how the ride's been all along.

And the best part? It was Children's day. It couldn't have been better.

“To be trusted is a greater compliment than being loved.”- George MacDonald

Trust: A firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability or the strength of smne or smthn.

The dictionary defines it with such ease. But to apply it in actuality is such a task! It takes a lot of belief in another person to have unwavering trust. A friend, a lover, family or colleague. one needs to trust them. but why is it so? In this cynical world where everything seems to have its price, what place or value does trust hold? And it's wisely said, "Takes years to build and moment to shatter. Such is Trust".

I have had my moments where my trust has been misplaced or apt. There are moments when I question my whole belief system as to why or howor what have i done, should or shouldn't do. As I grow older, the cynicism increases. My genial nature seems to become caustic and bitter. Is this because I am vary of the things around me? Is this because I also see my friends being led off track from what is a perfect life that's rosy and comfortable?

I don't know what to say... I don't want to sound bitter or undermined. But then do I trust you in knowing what is to say?

Head or Heart?

I often hear people saying follow your heart, it knows the truth. Some on the other hand, speak of the head ruling the heart that's why, its important to think.

I am standing at the crossroads at this juncture of life. i am what one would describe as a person who is smart, responsible and full of potential! Now that, in my opinion, sounds too good to be true. Simply because i'm a regular person who is just learning to know my identity, use the fundamentals i've been taught and to do things right.

I have been at a wonderful job with a well reputed company that knows its employees are people. I have lots of thing at my disposal and freedom of taking as many leaves too just so that I come back with a renewed vigour to the job. I'm in an environment that has a lot to offer. Be it professionally or personally. I'm at one of the high points of the learning curve! But, yes there is a slight resonance of hesitation. i don't see myself as following a routine approach to things at a desk where i am doing the same thing at the same time as the time last week, month or year or for that matter in years to come. Am a kind of a person who is like many of this generation of gimme more! I don't like the thought of getting comfortable for too long but that also doesn't mean i don't get my siestas! ;)

Lets see which is the road not taken. Robert Frost? Clicking photos that encompass a wide array of human emotions with such passion that, I feel i'm living life! a life that's always longed for.
Simple, my family. you can travel wherever you want when you get married! Hate this answer. Every time I'm about to book the tickets, a recce of the place is taken care of by my dad, find out the number of relatives known to us, who can help me out-mom. I mean, I just want to go with a couple of friends to a hilly village near Aruku or roam the beaches of Pondi speaking to a random French person- in French of course! ( irrespective of my meagre comprehension of the language!). Go to the far out deserts in Rajasthan and maybe sit out on the ghat at Banares and Kolkatta. Soak in the history in the forts and palaces spread out across the Deccan Plateau. that's all I want.. not too much to ask for a "independant girl of the 21st century"!
Money? what else am I working for? I think, should find a publisher who'd risk his reputation, let me tap into the writer in me and pay me for doing what I like! :D

It is up to us to listen to them whether we are awake or in deep sleep. It could be the vivid hopes and aspirations we wish to have in our lives.

I remember a story I was told of as a child. It was about Emperor Akbar and his trusted friend Birbal. It is said that once Akbar had a dream wherein an old Akbar had lost all his teeth but one. And when he asked Birbal about what it could have meant, he simply replied,” Sire, it means that you will succeed and live longer than all of your counterparts and relatives.” Pleased that he was, Birbal was handsomely rewarded by Akbar. He then took it in his stride and became one of the most recognized names in history .Truly outliving his counterparts and relatives!

Now, as a child I was amused at Akbar’s benevolence towards Birbal. Why did he have to reward Birbal for such an answer?

Today, I understand its value. A dream is what you make of it to be. It could be considered to tell us something of a positive note. We just need to realize this and achieve it. One dreams of many things. It could be a dream of becoming something worthwhile or our daily lives we have subconsciously noted as something significant. I dream of being… A person, who has worked hard to make each and every dream come true. A person, who sought to make a better example of herself amongst her peers. A person, who strived hard to achieve the very reason she wakes up for. I dream of becoming a person my peers would regard as an achiever, a winner and best of all a true dreamer.

I know I might sound like a zealous schoolgirl with a long way ahead of us. But, aren't we all looking forward to be better than what we were yesterday? I think we all need to just wake up to make the dream a reality. Set the template for more! Ting! :D

The grass is always greener on the other side.

1. One always assumes the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. Why is this so? Is it because we always assume what we have is not enough? I guess it is the human thing to outdo our peers as the feeling of competition seeps in. If it is so, what is wrong in being a little ambitious? I don’t see anything negative in being ambitious because it instills the drive or the need to motivate oneself in order to be on the other side of the fence where greenery is eternal. This competitive ambition is in us from the time we compare our progress reports in school to see, why has the other person get to have everything our parents promised us!

We may out grow our childish tantrums but the drive to get better than others for any reason, be it materialistic or not is always there. We always want to have. Economics also deals with the wants and needs and we cover this even in political sciences. So this theory of assuming the grass is greener on the other side of the fence rings true since time immemorial.

We always look for thing we don’t have but what of the things we have? We need to have a habit of inculcating positivity and ensuring that we bring the greener side to us so that we say the grass is greener on this side always! You never know that whatever it is we have right now is the bone of contention for the others. There are always some people who look towards us to be inspired from and to learn from because according to them, the grass we have beneath our feet is greener than the emeralds worn by our neighbors!

Euthanesia

Mercy Killing. Is it Viable?

The term Mercy killing is a contradictory term. One cannot kill and call it an act of Mercy. This is simply because Mercy in traditional terms, is an emotion that deals with nurturing, caring and help. And Killing on the other hand is to end, to annihilate.

However, Mercy killing in today’s time is an emotional need to euthanize a fellow human being who is living with pain (physical and emotional) and suffering. Is it viable? It is difficult to say. Why? This is because it depends on the person who is fighting the agony and pain in hope of having a life shared with family and friends. This need to linger physically is stronger in those who are not very old and have yet to live a “fulfilled” life. But, on the other hand, it is a welcome choice for those who choose not to live a life of a vegetable who, is in a constant need of attention both medical and spiritual.

I have personally witnessed the dilemma of having to offer the choice of mercy killing or euthanasia. A person suffering from a degenerative disease till it consumes the person, the body and the being is a difficult thing. One tends to forget the real person who we relate and connect to and start to see the vegetable which can’t do anything. This seems inhumane I agree but, what can one do when one has exhausted all hope, resources and loses sight of what was once dear? And then the person who is undergoing the trials and tribulations, the humiliation and the pain is alone here. Now don’t tell me Marriage is Sacred and all just because you want to say you belong to old school of thought. All I am saying is of the sanctimony of the relationship is the same with or without the sign on a certificate and an elaborate session of merrymaking in terms of a wedding.

Even economically it is more of a money saver! You are single, pay for your own needs within your means and if things don’t work out, move out! Aren’t our western counterparts doing the same? We’ve even got a couple of celebs who are known to be living with each other for years. Then, my friends said what about your family? The parents, the relatives and, those around them? Aren’t you answerable? I guess we do live in a society where everybody wants to know everybody’s business.

The moral obligations of a society lay on the shoulders of the entire nit picking aunties and uncles who shudder at the thought of young couple who aren’t married! Is it because the couples could be Hippies - sex starved, immoral delinquents? (Shudder shudder). Why not normal human beings who are willing to leave everything aside and live together and know one another through the highs and lows but not through the phone? There must be some factors that have brought them together and if they are valid then they could culminate it into Marriage-only of need be!

I guess because everything has its own time. You are born, then get educated, get married, bear children who’ll be the progeny, get them married off then live happily ever after! We’re the traditionalists after all!

Today, as I gaze through the window from my office bay, I wonder many wonderful things I would love to do right now. Watch an old Hrishikesh Mukherjee movie or some Scrabble with friends.

I then realised, weather influences our mood so much! I see many happy people chattering away with their forgotten neighbours, old friends, new colleagues just because the day is so right! Its not too hot or too cold, not too windy and not too bright! It actually is an aphrodisiac! Couples getting away from their daily routines just so that they can be together. mothers taking their kids to the parks, friends catching up at their favourite malls and cafes. I wish this stayed so. I bet the shrinks wouldn't mind an off day too!

Signing off... You know what I'm talking of. Not "the One" as in the Matrix movie trilogy but the one as in the Prince Charming who sweeps the girls off their feet.

I was wondering why do we girls always are on a lookout for the one? And who told us about him? The answer is, we've been growing up with this notion inspired from the Fairy tales at bedtime, the colourful Bollywood films where the hero is what we all are looking for! It simply is - "The righteous one whose masculine appeal lies in the strong physical body and intense eyes, yet is sensitive to our every qualms and pains. Especially when we PMS!" And we didn't even realise it!

I've been single all my 22 years of my life. Yes, a few of us do exist not because we never found interesting men but simply because we're heading the chase for the One! The guys I meet are interesting but somehow not what I am looking for.

Now in case you're wondering what am I looking for, I'll list out the usual. Tall, Dark and Handsome with a sense of Humour. Now, this shouldn't be difficult one might say. But when I mean Tall, Dark and Handsome, it means, not less than a six-footer, not so dark that I see only the whites of his eyes( Yes, I'm very shallow as you can see) , not very handsome that I become insecure about! I think this is a decent request since I'm no Beauty queen myself! Ah yes, I almost forgot! The "Sense of Humour" criteria!

A lot of guys might want to question what I mean by the right kind of sense of humour. Simple! The jokes he cracks shouldn't be centred around Toilets, Farts, Blondes, Wives, and disastrous cooking, but then, shouldn't always be dry and boring. He's allowed to joke about the women I don't appreciate ( let in some sarcasm slip by) or about the politicians, or maybe a little more. Easy as ABC, right?!

So the search continues...
