A client from Yeronga recently called our All Aces Services offices with a very serious odour removal request. They had experienced a diesel spill in the back of their Toyota Land Cruiser, and were pretty desperate to have it cleaned and restored. For this job, we called in Ray, our technician who is very qualified in odour control.

Since diesel fuel can be very dangerous, it was necessary for Ray to know how to remove the fuel thoroughly. Not only would the stain and odour need to be removed, but any trace of the highly combustible substance. He was a perfect choice for the job, since he is highly trained in odour removal, carpet cleaning, water damage, rugs, and upholstery.

Odour Removal Process

Ray began by removing the interior carpet, seats, and the underlay. We then began to wash all of the hard surfaces down with laminate. Since the diesel had penetrated the body of the vehicle, the floor had to be sealed with body deadener. It was vital that the diesel fuel be completely removed and any trace of it be sealed away from danger.

Back at the factory, we had set up a Hydroxyl machine which would use steam extraction to complete the cleaning process. Ray also used such products as laminate, vapour shark solvent, and fabric shampoo. The customer was extremely pleased with the results of the cleaning and restoration, and had used us several times before. They assured us that they will use All Aces Services again for odour removal or any other cleaning services.

All Aces Services were recently called to attend an inspection to remove urine smell which took place at a property located in Zillmere. The reason for our visit and the inspection was that the owner of the property had been complaining of an odour which was present in the property.

According to the owner’s report, the last time which the carpets had been cleaned was in November of 2011, by another carpet cleaning company which is unknown. The urine smell was noticed soon after that cleaning was done. Unfortunately, this is not uncommon, and has a simple explanation.

When carpet cleaning companies, who are not properly trained and qualified, attempt to clean carpets they often do not correctly remove pet odours and urine smell which are in the home. All too often, this type of cleaning actually causes these odours to be worse than they were before the cleaning took place. The reason for this is simply a matter of what happens when urine hits the carpet and the cleaning process brings it out.

When urine leaves the body, it is at a particular pH level. As it begins to dry, that level changes and the well-known ammonia scent seeps through the home. The powerful bacterial and chemical changes which the urine undergoes when it dries are the cause of that smell. When moisture is added to the urine, the problem only escalates. This occurs during high humidity, or when unqualified persons try to clean the carpet.

At this time, the crystalline salts present in the stain absorb the moisture, and puts out an ammonia gas. This is why the urine smell seems to pop back up after the carpets are cleaned in the wrong manner. Unfortunately, many carpet cleaning companies do not know how to remove urine smells and these types of odours.

All Aces Services can guarantee one hundred percent that we are able to remove urine smells. After receiving your call for service, we will come to your home and do an inspection. Included in this inspection will be moisture testing, pulling up carpet, re-lying the carpet, and our professional advice on the best way to clean and treat the odour. Give All Aces Services a call today and remove the unpleasant urine smells from your home while saving your carpet.

On Wednesday, February 8th, All Aces Services in Brisbane was called to attend a cat urine odour removal job, which was located in New Farm. The homeowners had made the call after two of their cats urinated inside the house.

As many people know, cat urine has a very strong odour, which is extremely hard to get rid of. This is partially due to the fact that the urine contains protein, which cats will use to “spray” their territory in an effort to mark it. When this cat urine dries onto the carpet inside of a home, the urine forms into crystals, which make removal of the odour quite hard to do. If you try to use a regular cleaner to remove the urine, it usually just masks the scent. Once the scent is covered, most people assume that they have gotten rid of the problem. Unfortunately, this is not the case.

The crystals, which exist in the urine stain, will reactivate under moist conditions, and the odour will once again be strongly offensive. In order to get rid of the odour completely, one must use a cleaner that will break down those crystals instead of simply masking the smell. All Aces Services is one of very few companies that use this type of product. Because of this, we are able to offer a full restoration service to get rid of both the cat urine odours and stains.

Procedures to Remove Cat Urine Smell

In the case of the home at New Farm, in Brisbane, our service technician arrived on the scene and performed a standard moisture inspection in order to indicate where the cat urine was located in each room. Exactly how much moisture was present in the carpet from the urine stain was also determined so that we could decide which type of treatment was needed. It was discovered that two rooms were heavily soiled with cat urine. This meant that a complete restoration was needed for those rooms to be sure that both the odour removal and the stain removal would be completed.

In our full restoration service, we will take up the carpet, as well as the underlay, from the affected area. We will then clean the sub-flooring, which is normally made of wood or concrete, with a pressure cleaner. Once cleaned, the area is treated and the floor is sealed. This way, the odour is guaranteed not to resurface when your carpets are cleaned. All Aces Services also works closely with local companies who lay carpet in order to ensure minimal disruption to you and your family.

Have you ever moved into a house and the house stinks? You wish that you could have the odour removed. You think it is just because the house has been locked up so you open up the house and try and keep it well ventilated. This seems to ease the smell. When you go away for a long weekend and return home, the house stinks again. The first thing you realise is that it is coming from the carpet – there is nothing worse than a smelly carpet!

Unfortunately these days, 80% of the carpet cleaning industry is not qualified. One of the main problems is that after cleaning carpets are left wet and may take days to dry. This is a real concern with rentals as when tenants exit houses, they can be locked up for a few days which adds to the unbearable smell.

I have unfortunately experienced this first hand. The house I am currently renting is located in Brisbane at Alexandra Hills. Every time the house gets locked up the carpets start to smell all over again. There is a bacteria that is in the carpet and unfortunately the only way to get rid of it is to get the carpet re cleaned and also have a carpet sanitising treatment performed.

All of the All Aces Services technicians are fully qualified and trained through the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification. At All Aces Services we are always completing re cleans as carpets are constantly being left wet and stains and marks that should be coming out are not. We are also trained in odour removal. One of main goals at All Aces Services is to educate to the public in a choosing a carpet cleaning that has a qualification behind them.

More and more tenants are having to pay another carpet cleaner to re clean their carpet in hope to get their bond back as the first attempt has failed. Often the first carpet cleaner did not guarantee their work. At All Aces Services we are proud of the fact that we do have 100% money back guarantee. If you are not happy with your carpet clean or it did not pass the inspection we will come back and re clean it for you. If it still does not pass the inspection we will give you your money back 100%.

Don’t be left with a smelly carpet. Call All Aces Services today on 1800 00 1010 for odour removal and to book in your clean.

We received an urgent call to attend to a property at Raceview for water damage. A pipe had burst in the vanity unit causing flooding to a three bedroom home. Due to the water damage, the tenants had quickly vacated the property.

We headed straight out there and took moisture readings throughout the property. The loungeroom had a very high moisture content. We lifted the carpet to realise that a dog had been using the lounge room carpet as a toilet!

See pictures:

There was a strong odour present and we realised that just a carpet clean was not going to remove the urine. Urine is Uric Acid which leaves your body at a pH level of 5-6. When urine dries it turns into a crystalline salt. Sometimes the colour will change as the urine reacts with the carpet. The reason why there is often a strong odour is because the urine goes through a chemical change which sets off a gas.

Where a lot of people make the mistake is that as soon as they notice the stain or smell, they apply water or they call some cheap carpet cleaner in to clean and deodorise the carpets. Big Mistake!!

Urine becomes worse when moisture is added or there is high humidity. The crystalline salts absorb water and moisture and put out an ammonia gas. This leaves your carpets smelling worse than before you cleaned them.

What we had to do to rectify the problem from the urine was to start by cutting out the affected underlay. We treated the subfloor, relaid new underlay and treated both sides of the carpet. We then cleaned the area with our 10 step deluxe carpet cleaning system.

You can see the end results:

The stains were completely gone and 100% of the odour was removed. If you have any questions about water damage or urine odour removal please see our website or call our friendly trained staff on 1800 00 1010.

Whether it be because the dog likes the feel of the rug, or the cat is marking its territory, or they are both just plain lazy – there is no doubt that pet urine can do some real damage to our most valuable rugs. In some cases it may not be because the rug is of a high dollar value, but more so the sentimental value, that requires the rug to be restored.

The biggest question to ask yourself is ‘What’s my tolerance level?’

If your pet ‘rules the roost’ so to speak and is classed as one of the family, then when FiFi pees on the 50 year old persian rug, it may not be such an issue as FiFi can do what she likes – therefore just cleaning the rug and a mild treatment might be enough as FiFi will most likely go back and do it again. Then there are others that don’t have pets and a friend has come to visit with their Maltese who loved the feel of your new designer shag pile rug, so much it used it as a toilet. Therefore the smell will be escalated even more and the tolerance level will be low.

Whatever the tolerance level, we are able to fix the urine in the rug by submerging the rug to fully remove the odour with a 100% Guarantee or we are able to do surface treatments for when the smell really isn’t that bad.

Sometimes if the smell isnt too bad, and its just the stain that is causing a problem, our technicians who are qualified through the IICRC in Advanced Stain Removal will be able to assist.

Whether it be a $100 000 silk rug or a rug that has been in the family for 3 generations, they can be just as valuable as each other and we are able to tailor a clean to suit your needs.
