Odyssey Way

The End. No, for real. Bye.

2012-04-19T20:20:00.000-05:00

Sorry, everyone, I was stuck in a closet. . .for about a year. Once I got out, I thought, "Hey, I'm a fade-away Adventures in Odyssey blog that only lasted about a year. I should do a good-bye post!" [Yes, I sometimes do have lengthy conversations with myself. ; ) ] Well everybody, it was a good run. It's been full of jokes, Photoshopped pictures, the funniest podcast ever, the AIO reboot, and, my shining achievement, the Odyssey Squirrel. It still makes me laugh that the only thing mentioned by the most brilliantly creative AIO fan, Kevin McCreary, on the most popular Odyssey fan site ever's podcast. . .is a a blog where I smashed on the keyboard and pretended I was a squirrel. : ) Well, in case I don't see ya (which I can assure you I won't), "good morning", "good day", and "good night"!

Update: Jimmy Blogger must read Odyssey Way! He fixed it! I'm going to name my first son after him.

Album 53 has now ended. I have 4 entire cups of tears sitting around my house just in case aliens try to come in (probably 60% of you get that joke). Sorry I haven't been posting lately, but Blogger messed up their system and now 70% works.

Fan Interview

2011-05-20T12:51:00.009-05:00

Hey guys, today I have a short interview with one of the top commenters, Alina, from The Odyssey Scoop. Here it is:

When did you start listening to AIO? Umm, I don't remember for sure. But probably when I was in the 4th grade (2007-2008)

How old were you then?

Around 9-10 years old

How old are you now?

14 years old

Who is your favorite character?

Well, first off, all of them are great so I don't really have a favorite, but I'll try to think of someone. Overall: Jason Whittaker

Major:
Old- Jason Whittaker
New- Jay

Minor:
Old- Jimmy Barcaly and Rathbone family
New- Buck

What is/are your favorite episode(s)?

I just absolutely love the Novacom Saga!

If you could spend one day at a carnival with one character, who would it be?

Definitely WOOTON BASSETT!

Thank you for your time!

Happy Easter!

2011-04-24T17:25:00.000-05:00

Whit: Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

No better place to be, than chillin' with the Tooth Fairy in Odyssey!

2011-04-20T14:29:00.004-05:00

Beginning of rant.

Announcing. . .the best episode of the Ceiling Fan Podcast ever! Seriously, there should be a music video of "Tooth Fairy and Me"! Even if you're not a "fan" of the Ceiling Fan (then you're a liar 'cause who doesn't like a good podcast) listen to this episode!
End of rant.

The Imagination Station Book 2

2011-04-08T17:19:00.001-05:00

In the second Imagination Station book for ages 7 and up, Attack at the Arena, cousins Patrick and Beth travel to ancient Rome. At the Roman Colosseum, Emperor Honorius is hosting a gladiator battle in celebration of a war victory. Beth attends the event as the emperor’s slave; Patrick attends as a monk’s apprentice but is taken prisoner and sent to fight in the arena. During their adventure, the cousins meet Telemachus (a true historical figure), a monk who believes that fighting is wrong. Telemachus is willing to risk everything—even his life—to stop the killing.

This book is interesting to younger readers and teaches readers, young and old, interesting historical facts about Emperor Honorius, Telemachus, and the colosseum in Rome. Although older readers may become a tad bored with the short sentences, this book will be widely enjoyed by younger readers. Overall I give it a 4 out of 5 stars. Thank you Tyndale for providing me with a complimentary copy of this book to review.

April Fools

2011-04-02T09:35:00.003-05:00

Just in case you guys didn't know, the "Pranks for the Memories" Sampler pack doesn't exist. It was an April Fools joke.

PS. You can now listen to 4 parts of "The Green Ring Conspiracy" on the radio! Don't forget the discussion blog for the new album!

Some of you may remember the picture to the right that was posted on the AIO Facebook Fan page a while ago. What I just noticed was at the top left of the picture there is a teaser for a new sampler pack. Today, they released a full-resolution version of the first sketch which you can see at the bottom right. This sampler pack is called "Pranks for the Memories" and includes the episodes "Pranks for the Memories", "I Slap Floor", and a new episode that is yet to be released! You can see the title of the new episode here or you can pre-order this album that is scheduled to released on May 23 this year here.

Interview with Cristina Pucelli

2011-03-23T18:58:00.002-05:00

A new Official AIO Podcast is out with an interview with Cristina Pucelli, voice of Emily Jones:

Cristina Pucelli chats with Bob and Jesse about voicing Emily Jones, how she got started in acting, and more.

If your aren't too sure about how you feel about the character of Emily yet, listen to the rest of TGRC to learn more about her personality.

2011-03-22T12:48:00.002-05:00

*Sigh*. . . ."The Green Ring Conspiracy" is out. . . .I'm not as excited as I used to be about previous albums because I downloaded this album a month early. I don't regret downloading it, but I'm not as excited as I used to be. Eugene already recorded the episodes so he is a little bored now too (see right).

Anyway, I'm not going to review the episodes individually because all of the album is best reviewed as a whole.

That's all for now.

Happy St. Patricks Day!

The Imagination Station, "Voyage with the Vikings"

2011-03-02T20:05:00.000-06:00

I recently received a copy of "Voyage with the Vikings", the first of the 5 Imagination Station books for children ages 7 and up. In this book, cousins Beth and Patrick go into the Imagination Station in search of a Viking Sunstone.
This is a very good book. The book has vivid details and has amazing illustrations. Like the Imagination Station always does in an Adventures in Odyssey episode, it brought the history of Vikings like Erik the Red to life. It made historical figures like Erik the Red, his son Leif Erikkson and his mother, Hilda, come to life. Even though this book is meant for children 7 and up, even older kids can enjoy this fun story.
Thanks Tyndale for supplying me with a complimentary copy of this book to review!

Album 53 Discussion Site

2011-02-24T12:49:00.001-06:00

Hi guys, I have a little project I've been working on.
SPOILER ALERT: Don't go to this site if you haven't heard the newest album.
If you go to my Album 53 site, it is now a discussion site for Odyssey fans who have already listened to the new album. You can now discuss the album without worrying about giving away spoilers! You can get to it here. Because, like Jesse said on the newest Official AIO Podcast, "You can avoid those spoilers forever."

The Green Ring Conspiracy!

2011-02-21T07:54:00.000-06:00

As of the 15th, Album 53 "The Green Ring Conspiracy" has now been translated to Canadian! If you are Canadian, you can download the newest album here!

Back Cover for Album 53

2011-02-09T11:51:00.001-06:00

The back cover for Album 53 "The Green Ring Conspiracy" is now available! Now we can see a high-resolution (not the New Years kind) picture of everybody's favorite 16-year old, Connie Kendall! That's the cover to the right.
Also, later today there will be a new Official AIO Podcast. So. . .check it out. . .then. . .when it's. . .released. . .I need a good segue. .
Speaking of segues, the ScoopCast just released their second ever video podcast. It's very enjoyable, so check it out here!

Happy Birthday, Odyssey Way!

2011-02-03T09:27:00.001-06:00

Today marks the day that this blog started exactly one year ago! We've had a packed year full of secret agent marketing managers, mailmen pretending to be ice cream shoppe owners, and a creepy squirrel dressed as Whit! If you look at the top of the screen, you can see the blogs new logo. At the bottom is a small video celebrating one year!
