The proposal section is very important to me. I spend a lot of time in this area around which there are many pitfalls. You’re never guaranteed to get the job, but the efforts to get it can be extensive, it's important to me that you should see some of the ideas put forward and read the story of their success or failure. I would hope that these would be interesting stories to read about an artist’s working life.

These fold-out business cards by Sam Buxton are insane, Three Dimensional Miniature environments are folded out from a single, flat sheet of stainless steel, in a similar way to origami paper folding. Buxton discovered the idea through a chemical milling process while working in the electronics industry.

Silent Whispers

A little something different for your viewing pleasure. This is the type of scene that in my opinion is difficult to really show the beauty of. I am extremely picky when it comes to my compositions. In an image like this for example...if there is one branch that I don't like because it feels out of place, I won't use the photo. I know...it's a little much. :) I liked this one because of the trees disappearing into the grasses and the way the trees have space in between them on the left hand side there.

Neverending Waterfalls

Anytime that I tell you that I have posted my last shot from a certain location... I am probably not being completely honest. Here is one more from Lower Lewis River falls from earlier this year. I spent most the day today looking for a new apartment instead of being out shooting. It is definitely not my idea of fun but Jamie and I have decided to move to an apartment on Lake Union with a view of the city skyline. The one we looked at today had floor to ceiling windows in the living room that sat staring at the city and the space needle.

Leaving You Breathless

Nothing I could say would have anything to add to what the waterfall itself has already spoken to you.

Vision

As a landscape photographer, there is a very strong pull to shoot wide and horizontally most of the time. Very seldom is my first inclination to shoot vertical or close in. When I transitioned from landscape photography to wedding photography this became a unique challenge. After snapping weddings now for close to 3 years I have determined that the majority of the time, closer more intimate compositions produce images with much more feeling and clarity. Please view large to appreciate the clarity ans subtle color variations in this image.

Strength Without Color

When shooting in conditions (or seasons) where there is little color, creating a strong monochrome image is often a good choice to grab your viewers attention. Things to keep in mind when capturing an image that you know you will be converting to monochrome are things like shape, textures and motion. Understanding and keeping in mind what will turn out lighter and what will be processed to black is part of this process. I knew the sand and the stone in this image would be dark and everything else would be light so I focused on balancing these contrasts when setting up for the shot. This is a lower, and closer perspective than my previous post.

Light Painting Take One

My first real attempt at light painting. It turned out okay and I was glad to catch the stars. The color on the bottom lower right is from some kind of illuminated structures across the water from this area.

Liquid Therapy

Okay, last one for the series. Time to move on to other things. This is a similar shot to one I had taken on a previous trip. The light was better and the water higher in this one so I decided to toss this one up as well.

When Water Turns To Wonder

This has got to be the most beautiful example of a waterfall that flows into a river that I have seen and I have seen my share of waterfalls. First of all let me clear a couple things up for you... no, this is not an HDR. It is a single exposure. Even more incredible, this is the actual color of the water and the moss. Conditions were close to terrible by the time we got here and it was raining pretty hard. I got some other comps that I may toss up some other time but this was the cleanest and the nicest in terms of image quality that I got. It was my first shot...before the rain really started falling.

Natural Energy

One more from this series. This makes about 10 solid Lewis River Falls shots that I have. I think I have stretched my limit. Unless it freezes of course. :) I like this one because of it's clean simplicity. Thank you for all your comments and kind words.

These are some mindblowing photos from inside a wave called shore break art photographs. Getting inside, over and under 30-40 foot waves is no small feat, especially with bulky camera equipment, and a goal of finding that perfect angle and lighting condition that makes a perfect shot.

Clark Little is pretty well known today as the foremost shore break art photographer (his art has been seen on "Good Morning America", and featured in a number of glossy magazines all over the world). But as much as we like the fantastic shots of various wave' innards, we are even more impressed to see him pitched against dangerous, massive amounts of water - violent waves, where you only have a moment to make that shot and to get out of the harm's way.

Planet (Stereographic Projections) Photography is simply crazy and fun! The technique is not only all about skillful digital manipulations, there are a few really good programs that can help you out there, but the raw photography side is very technical. The use of wide angle lenses help to overcome the need for multiple photographs to get the entire scene, but then there is the mapping of your photographs to ensure that you capture all of the surroundings and not to later find a gap in your equirectangular panorama. However, you can avoid the stitching altogether by making do with a single photo and stretch it around in a circle!

Guram Dolenjashvili (born 9 March 1943 in Kutaisi) is a Georgian painter often working in a monochrome technique. He is a Meritorious Artist of Georgia and an honorary member of Russian Academy of Arts (since 2004). Dolenjashvili was born in Kutaisi.

He graduated from the Tbilisi Academy of Arts in 1968 where he studied in the shop of Lado Grigolia. He mostly lived in Kutaisi but travel led to Russian North, White Sea, Kamchatka and Chukotka. His works are exhibited in the Art Museum of Georgia, Tretyakov Gallery, Pushkin Museum, Russian Museum and many others.

Many of his works are landscapes made in black and white, using a graphite pencil or etching with slightly surrealist shifting of reality still he is often considered a follower of traditions Russian realist landscapers of Ivan Shishkin and Yuly Klever.
