They conduct a 4-5 hour live investigation there, on location, at the haunted,Robinson Bowling Center! The listerners were pleasantly surprised That HVRNC's Own EVP Specialist and Co-Host of the Monday Meltdown, Phil Roell, traveling all the way to Robinson to help Todd and Dale with the evening investigation. " We really enjoyed seeing Phil behind the Mic there in the studio, especially for an evening that was so eventful," says one of the long-time listeners,

'The investigation had so many shocking surprises for those of us that stayed up until after 4AM glued to the computer screen, watching spirit activity!" The investigation was completed with both Professional,Pyschic /Mediums,Tuesday Miles and HVRNC's own Belle Salisbury, helping the investigators. New Computer System for HVRN!

Upon my return from the week in the hospital, I came back to a VERY nice surprise! As most of you are aware, I have been broadcasting on the same computer system for several years now. Though this system has been updated as much as possible, it just couldn't handle the heavy task of daily broadcasting any longer and became very unstable. Our new friends over at Kelsey Live (Special thanks to TOD HD) became aware of our dilemma and wanted to help.
TOD HD had called me up and asked me just what kind of system it would take to run and maintain a healthy broadcast again. I told him that with today's technology and constant change, that it would take something that was cutting edge and ahead of it's time. I let him know that I was saving HVRN funds for a new system but it would cost a couple of thousand before we could make this a reality. TOD was very eager to help and told me he was going to buy a new computer system for HVRN. I get a phone call 2 days later and he had made the purchase and WOW what a monster!

The new system arrived last Wednesday and for all of you "tech" geeks out there, here is just a bit of the specs this new baby has.

1 TB Hard Drive
8 GB Ram
Windows 7 64 bit
HD graphics card (VERY impressive)

This is just a taste of it and I am still not use to the extreme speed and stability just yet! Commands are instant with the new machine and it can really handle the much needed and heavy tasks that I use to maintain a live show. The old system could no where near compare to this and you will all notice a drastic change in our live shows!

We had our debut broadcast tonight (Monday Meltdown) using the new system and I was most impressed with its performance and so was our audience! We had a bit of a set back with the sound card on the new machine as it takes a special sound card to be able to put forth the quality show that what makes us HVRN! We have always had a unique sound at a very high quality. All went forward today without one hitch, crash, error message, or dreaded FREEZE during tonights show. I would really like to thank the folks at Kelsey's for all of their support as well as each of YOU for your very kind donations, promotion, feedback, and sponsorship.

Over the past 7 years, HVRN has grown to become one of the top paranormal talk radio shows in the world and this is due to your continued efforts to keep us right on the cutting edge of talk radio! It has been awhile since my last blog entry and I do apologize! Where to begin with all of this? First off I would like to thank all of you for the very kind wishes and support while I was in the hospital. I am feeling much better and just had a bit of a scare is all..
They ran several tests during my week stay and found that I am needing surgery once again soon. They found 6 inches of my upper small intestine that needs to be removed due to it narrowing. This is what caused the severe pain as you can imagine. I told them I would not be ready for the surgery just yet as this would take me down for a couple of months and we have far to much going on right now for that.

I asked him if it would be safe for me to postpone it for a bit and he said yes, and is treating it with some steroids. These have REALLY helped and I am pain free now and back home as well as back on the air! I will be updating all of you on the new projects and changes going on in my next blog post. I have really missed all of you and it is great to be back!

A Weekend for the Books

This week was a very long won as I put a ton of hours in at the studio. I was so ready for Saturday to catch up on some family time as well as some much needed rest. I slept in this morning and woke up to my beautiful wife Kristina and the kids! We haven't been together for quite some time so I took advantage of making up some lost time with them.

I watch a good movie on TV called "Awakenings" with Robin Williams and even took myself a little cat nap! My youngest was playing all day today but still gave me a bit of Daddy time and we walked up to the local story here to get our traditional "soda Pop" and took our dogs Dojo & Pudge with us. It was a really good day and now I get to chill out some more with some new TV shows that are out. I don't watch much TV so pretty much everything is new to me!

I don't know about any of you, but I am so ready for spring! This winter really hasn't been a long one but sure feels like it. It has been so gray and dreary lately! I will be the first to admit the winter is one of my favorite seasons. Not because of the cold and snow but because there are no BEES! I am allergic and they scare me to death. I have been doing some reading (Yes, I read books) and I have to give some big kudos to you authors out there. The way they take the reader right into the book is amazing and much better than television. This image above is an example of...

what was put in my mind while reading a story about the new beginning or springtime. We live in a very small town, so small it is called a Village. Nothing goes on here and in the winter it is like a ghost town. I really miss the smells and sounds of spring and summer as in winter it is very quite. No birds to listen to, no leaves moving in the wind. It is the little things we all miss and take for granted. There are a lot of people that become really depressed in the winter season and I can see why! March is now upon us and the transition from old to new is starting to begin.

I will be able to take walks with my daughter and bike rides to the park and perhaps a trip to the zoo a few times. My wife Kris will be out planting her flowers and best of all laying out in the sun! We just have to hang in there just a bit more and before you know it there will be tiny buds on the trees and the grass will be coming back to life once again. So if you are down and miss the nice spring breeze and smell of flowers, just close your eyes and imagine it as it never left your mind to begin with.

HVRN True Scary Encounter Story Contest

The Haunted Voices Radio Network is holding a new contest for our members and fans. We want your TRUE scary stories or paranormal encounters. These stories must be paranormal in nature such as a ghost sighting, UFO sighting, alien abduction, and more. Please be sure and tell us the truth and not exaggerate on the occurrence. This contest will run from March 1^st through March 31^st with the winner being announced on the air Thursday April 1^st 2010.

There will be 3 placements for winners running from 1^st to 3^rd place. All winners will be announced on the air and our 1^st place winner will receive a guest Co-Host spot on HVRN for 1 week, their story published on our main website www.hauntedvoices.com , as well as sent to Kelsey Grammer himself to read! Our 2^nd and 3^rd place winners will receive an HVRN prize pack as well as having their story read LIVE on the air!

There are some rules that apply for the contest and they are as follows:

The experience MUST be first hand and NOT someone else’s encounter

The story must be 1500 words or less

No photos or video can be attached

Stories must be written using a word processor and NOT in email form (file to be attached in an email)

PDF stories are welcome but NO Ebooks will be judged

Judging:

All stories will be judged on authenticity, grammar, format, and originality.

Stories must be submitted no later than 6pm CST on March 31^st to be eligible for the contest. This is a great way to tell others of your experience as well as gain some exposure for your true encounter! Please submit all stories to contest@hvrnc.com with the subject “My True Story” all others will be dismissed.

Kelsey Grammer & Todd Bates Birthday Bash!

Well it is that time of year again everyone! We all have Birthdays and would like the very best for each of them. I will admit that the past few birthdays of mine were pretty bad. In2008 I was laid up in the hospital after surgery (Chrones disease) so that had me down for quite some time. Here it is 2010 and I am going to have the BEST birthday ever starting tomorrow February21st. I have been broadcasting over here at Kelsey live for a few weeks now and I finally got to speak with Kelsey and learned that his birthday is the same as mine. What are the odds!

When on the air Thursday night, TODHD had mentioned me coming in to do a show and have Kelsey on there with me. I was really excited about it but let him know that I would have to check with my wife Kris just to be sure there were no special plans. You see, my wife Kris and I celebrate both our birthdays & valentines day all on my birthday since her's is on the 7th of February. So this year I asked he to co host the show with me (she use to do that quite a bit). She agreed to do the show with me on my birthday so I let TODHD know that the show was on! He decided to call it the "Kelsey Grammer & Todd Bates Birthday Bash".

This show is going to ROCK and I am really excited to get it going. We will have some special callers and even a psychic reading from our friends Derrick Whiteskycloud and Psychic Detective Annette Martin! What a special birthday treat that will be! I will be writing a before and after blog of the event and also talk about some "behind closed door" outtakes and such from the show. I will also be posting this on my personal blog at www.toddbates.blogspot.com !

Valentines Day Weekend

After the show Friday night which was great by the way, I left late from the studio. The weekend was here and wow was the rest needed. It was a tough week last week with a lot of stress but all turned out well. I slept in Saturday and spent a lot of time with Kris and the family. Kaycee of course was out and about all weekend (Got to love teens!), but Kris and the Munchkin were home. We all sat and watched a few movies and
had a great time. I had an actual home cooked meal with my family for a change! Today (Sunday & Valentines day) was really nice. I got up this morning and Kris had some running to do. I spent some quality time with Keirsten and we had a Valentines day party! We had a great time coloring and drawing gifts for everyone and then I started supper. Beans & Cornbread are on the menu and I haven't had Ham, beans and cornbread in years! What a relaxing weekend but I am ready for the cool shows coming next week. Now that Tuesdays and Thursdays are open, I have decided to carry HVR on those two days to promote it a bit more.

Lots of work to do but very productive!

Back To The Heavy Hours!

This photo was taken last night by my wife LOL! Ok so it is a bit dramatic but I have been putting in many more hours recently. I am not complaining as they are all for a great cause and will all pay off soon. I was in the hospital for a few days and got a bit behind but spend 3 days working heavy to get caught up again!

HVRN has really grown in size and is starting to get back out there where it belongs for a change. I kept it pretty hidden for quite some time so I wouldn't loose control and fall behind once again. There are so many great projects in the works and it is going to be a very busy year! I am just so very thankful and happy that I have such a supportive family! I will make up this time with them soon enough, but yes, some of this time can never be made up again and this is just one of life's lessons that we all learn the hard way! The family is doing very well, except our car broke down and is in the shop!

I will try and keep you all up to date as much as possible on here as this does help release all of this mess from my head. Meeting Actor Kelsey Grammer

We have all seen him on our favorite shows like Cheers, and Fraizer in the past as well as today. Of course i am talking about Mr. Kelsey Grammer. I had the honor of meeting him on twitter. Kelsey is a one of a kind celebrity that really cares about his fans by speaking with them. It all happened one day when I was just tweeting away and one of my followers said that I should check out this website www.kelseylive.com to see what it was about. So I go to the website and sign up (Free Membership) and within seconds, was greeted by a lot of its members.

I felt really good about the people there as they are truly genuine! Kelsey himself send me a message himself welcoming me but at the time I didn't think it was him, just a PR rep. This all changed when I started following his twitter page and the conversation began. We talk about every day now and he is well aware that I am a huge fan of his work. He also producers the show on NBC called Medium. The second day of speaking with them, he had asked me to broadcast our radio program over at his website and Phil and I were very excited about it.

What a HUGE hit the show was that Monday. It was a webcast with audio and our listeners just loved it and the new change. They all sat there and watched while Phil and I disused EVP and they didn't miss a beat. HVRN is now syndicated over there and we broadcast on a daily bases. It is one of my favorite places to go. Kelsey is also into the paranormal as his wife Camile is a Psychic Medium herself. In talking with Kelsey and his crew over there, we will be having them both on our main show soon. Kelsey and I also share the same Birthday so be looking out for some big changes coming to HVN and I would also like to commend Mr. Grammer in helping raise $100,000 for the Haiti relief fund in just one weeks time!
