Don't know much about Toranto trio Villa Kang, except that they are some talented folks! Loving the track they sent our way "Touch of Evil". Great groovy loop filled jam. Best part is they are offering the track as a free download. Can't beat that, check it out below. Video in the works.

New Holy Ghost? Yes please! Having been released the day Daft Punk put their new album as a free stream on iTunes means "Dumb Disco Ideas" may have gotten lost in the shuffle, but it's a pretty sweet track. Their first new single from their upcoming album Dynamics which does not have a release date yet. Not too fond of the video (find it rather boring), but hey can't win them all. They will be on tour this year with the legendary New Order. Can't wait for the new album. For now check out this first one...

Classixx :: Hanging Gardens

I've been a fan of LA duo Classixx for many years now. Ever since their amazing summer jam of 2009 "I'll Get You" which was all the rage that summer. Since then I have had the privilege of hearing them DJ on more than a few occasions here in Miami and they always play great tunes that get the party going. Well today they are officially releasing their debut album Hanging Gardens which is available on iTunes.

Check out a couple of tunes from the album "Holding On" and "All You're Waiting For" feat DFA's Nancy Whang below. If you like these I'd look into the rest of that album. Congrats fellas!

Just for kicks here's their super fun summer time video for "I'll Get You" which is also featured in the album. Seems like this just came out the other day. Boy does time fly...

Hunter Hunted

Talk about a duo that have accomplished a lot in a short amount of time. LA's Hunter Hunted would definitely fit the bill. Having just formed in January of this year they have already been named as a band to look out for in Nylon, Billboard and MTV, as well as performing Live on Conan. All while being unsigned. After listening to their music, I can see why they've done so well. Great indie pop/rock, especially from an act so early in their career.

Check out a couple of tracks below from their self titled debut EP "Keep Together" and "Operating", plus an excellent remix of "Keep Together" by Spacebrother that ups the ante, as well as their performance on Conan. You can hear the rest of their EP on their soundcloud.

Daft Punk's highly anticipated new album Random Access Memories is streaming for Free on iTunes. A week before it's official release date of Tuesday, 5/21. I'd check that out if you get a chance. They made an amazing mid-tempo pop/dance record. Very 70's disco / funk / italo inspired. Definitely a more grown up record for them.

Just caught the new video for Vitalic's track "Fade Away" which is very Quentin Tarantino/Guy Ritchie-esque. Lots of violence. Even better than the video, I'm really digging the track which has a big booming dance floor sound. Can't wait to play it out in my sets. In addition to the video they put out a remix package for the single of which I am really digging the Formentera Rework and the C2C Remix. Check those out below....

Neon Neon :: Praxis Makes Perfect

New Neon Neon? Hell yes! The new album by the side project of Gruff Rhys (Super Furry Animals) and producer Boom Bip Praxis Makes Perfect has just been released. Pretty psyched as I loved their 2008 Mercury Prize Nominated debut album Stainless Style. Just like their first album which was a concept album based around John Delorean this new one continues in that tradition, with this one being based around Italian publisher Giangiacomo Feltrinelli (Doctor Zhivago).

My favorite part of the Neon Neon side project is that Gruff and Boom Bip really get to let their hair down with these records and explore the more fun electro-pop side of music, with simple synths and catchy melodies. I like to think of this project as Gruff's Postal Service. So if you like that type of music as much as I do, then these albums will be right up your alley.

Check out a couple new tracks from Praxis Makes Perfect "Mid Century Modern Nightmare" as well as the video for "Hammer & Sickle". If you like what you hear the new album's out now at all your usual locales. I'd look into it.

Pretty psyched for the Kitsune Club Night party going down this Saturday, May 11th at our weekly love child event with PopLife, His & Hers at The Garret. On this night the amazing Fred Falke (one of our all time fave producers) will be manning the decks for what is sure to be an amazing night of dance floor action. Chances are you've been probably been jamming to many of his amazing tunes/remixes throughout the years without even knowing it. Miike Snow's "Animal" remix anyone?

I always thought Charli XCX reminded me of Marina & the Diamonds and now it seems they are gonna be touring together this summer. In addition to the tour they collaborated on a new track called "Just Desserts" which is delicious and the best part is they are offering the track as a free download. Miami band Astari Nite has just released their new single "Pyramids" today. The track is from their forthcoming debut album produced by Steve Thompson who has worked with big acts such as Guns & Roses, Madonna, Blondie and many others. Digging the tune! It is their most polished tune to date with a dark and gothy sound. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album.

Got sent the video for "Better Man Than He" by UK artist Sivu and I am mightilly impressed. Not only is the video amazing (they filmed him singing live while under an MRI scanner), but the track is about as lovely as they come. Real subtle indie pop beauty. His new track "Bodies" is equally as amazing with an EP to come in June. I think we may have a star in our hands. Will definitely be keeping an eye out on him. Check out the goods below.

Got sent the latest single by Crystal Fighters "You and I" from their upcoming album Cave Rave out May 27th. Lovely track that melds the world of folk and pop pretty seamlessly, similar to bands like Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. The video for the track is pretty sweet also, featuring great CGI work. Seems the tune is also topping the Hype Machine charts at the moment, sitting pretty at #1. Great job boys! Got sent this great track "Dying to Start Again" by Brooklyn via London band Lovelife. Lovely indie pop tune that has been stuck on repeat. The track is from their upcoming EP Stateless scheduled for a June 11th release. Can't wait to hear more from them. As of late, I've been hooked on the new Famke Janssen Sci-Fi/Thriller show, Hemlock Grove. The show is ok, but the music up to now has been quite good. Superhumanoids is one of the bands that are played in the program and "Geri" is one of those songs that just stays in your mind as it plays in one of the scenes. The Los Angeles band is composed of three members: Cameron, Sarah, and Max. They are currently touring in the west coast and are worth seeing.

Phèdre is a band I came across in yet another TV show. Ever since hearing "In Decay" its been on non-stop repeat. The band from Monte Carlo, Monaco has a distinctive sound. Their self-titled debut has hints of hip-hop, electroclash, indie dance, and downtempo. I suggest you check out their album. Enjoy!

Don't know much about Melbourne, Australia artist Owl Eyes except that she is one talented lady. Got sent her video for first single "Closure" off her debut album Nightswim (which is out now) and I was instantly hooked. She's got a lovely dream pop sound that I'm a sucker for. Her looks don't hurt the cause either.

Austin band Snowden are getting ready to release their new album No One In Control May 14th on Serpents & Snakes Records. The first taste of the new record is first single "So Red" which is a super lovely. Gorgeous/catchy tune that really gets me excited to hear the rest of the album.

London band Is Tropical that we've written about before are getting ready to release new album I'm Leaving May 20th on the amazing Kitsune label. The first taste of the new record is the excellent first single "Dancing Anymore". It's basically about the simple things in life, like you know, how you don't take your partner out dancing anymore. Really lovely indie pop tune and a strong return for the band. The video for the track features a young French boy NOT doing much work cleaning the pool, instead daydream fantasizing, as most 15 year olds do.

Check it, but a little warning, might not wanna play the video at the office, haha.

Phoenix :: Bankrupt!

Loving the new Phoenix album Bankrupt! which is being released in a couple hours. They had the entire album streaming this week on iTunes. If you dug 2009's excellent Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, then this should be right up your alley. Indie pop dance goodness that they do so well, except maybe they raised the bar even more in terms of catchiness (if that's even possible). The beginning of the record in particular is really strong. A few of my fave tracks are "The Real Thing", "SOS in Berlin" and "Trying to be Cool".

Here they're doing the suave "Trying to Be Cool" on SNL earlier this month.

Got sent this lovely tune "Just Like Old Times" by Austin band The Black and White Years who seems accidentally discovered the lead singer's wife could sing after she reluctantly demo'd for a track. Lo and behold she had an amazing voice and is now part of the band. You never know till you try, right. This track is definitely proof of that. Check it out...

Sorry for the delay in posting, was a bit hectic last week. Have a ton of emails to go through, but in the meantime wanted to leave you guys with the new single by one of our favorite Australian indie pop acts, Empire of the Sun. They have a new single "Alive" which was just released a few days ago from their upcoming June album Ice on the Dune. Not sure if I'm totally feeling the track yet, but it may grow on me. Plus since their 2008 debut Walking on a Dream was so amazing we have to at least give it a chance and wait to see how good the rest of the album is, right? See what you think...
