Legendary Australian electronic act The Avalanches have announced their fourth studio album No Bad Memory being released October the 16th. I was obsessed with 2000's Since I Left You with all those amazing samples. Seems the new album is gonna have 31 tracks?! That is a lot of tracks for an album, but I have noticed all the tracks they've released so far are very short, plus I'm sure they will have plenty of sample snippets sprinkled throughout the album so that may be the reason for that. So far they've released some collabs they've done with Karen O from Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Jamie XX. That's a pretty impressive start!

Fontaines D.C. :: Dopamine Chamber

Irish rock band Fontaines D.C. that I have loved since 2022's Skinty Fia recently announced new album Dopamine Chamber which is being released October the 16th. I keep hearing the new record will be more electronic / Depeche Mode like with less guitars. The first taste of the record first single 'Marianne' definitely supports this hypothesis without totally leaving behind their trademark style. It is sooo good! I cannot wait to hear this album from this band that only seems to be getting bigger with each passing year.

Genesis Owuso :: Human Again

Been into Australian artist Genesis Owuso for a few years now. He has such a great vibe. Recently he released new single 'Human Again' that is pretty much fire! Super poppy indie dance jam that will hook you in no time flat, that chorus with female vocals is oh so good.

Interpol :: This Mirror Weighs a Ton

Saw NYC indie legends Interpol earlier this year in concert here in Miami. They were amazing as always! At the time we did not have word on a new album, but since then they have announced new album This Mirror Weighs a Ton being released August the 28th. Been hearing "See Out Loud" being played on satellite radio a ton and I get excited every time it comes on. Starts with a bang to their trademark indie sound. Can't wait to hear the whole thing!

Nouvelle Vague :: A Date with Depeche Mode

French bossa nova band Nouvelle Vague are getting ready to release a covers album A Date with Depeche Mode on October the 30th. In it they cover 13 tracks from these synthpop legends from the ones you'd expect to hear ("Enjoy the Silence", "Personal Jesus") to more obscure tracks like ("Ice Machine", "Leave in Silence"). The first taste we've gotten so far from the album is for "Enjoy the Silence" and "Never Let Me Down Again". Loving both of the covers! I will definitely be playing these out at home. Super chill and soothing renditions.

The first one is from Meshel Ndegeocello who is releasing a covers album called Synonym on October the 2nd. He covered The Human League's classic new wave track "Don't You Want Me" with Cat Power and turned it into a completely different chill and downtempo version of it.

Post Punk legends Echo and the Bunnymen are getting ready to release new album Apples for Isaac on September the 18th. It is their first new album since 2014's Meteorites! The first single they've released from the new album 'Brussels is Haunted' is classic them, elegant and gorgeous. Got me excited to hear more.

UK indie band Yard Act just released their new album You're Gonna Need A Little Music July the 17th. Digging the record, particularly the title track. The lead singer's voice reminds me a bit of Jarvis Cocker and Leonard Cohen. They have that indie rock vibe of the early 2000's on lock.

Big fan of darkwave synthpop band Boy Harsher for many years, play them out in my DJ Gigs all the time. Read the other day they are getting ready to release their major label debut album Get Mean on Atlantic Records September the 18th. The first taste from the new album 'Hard Beat' is classic them. Super dark and dancey synthpop deliciousness.

Long time fan of The Magician. I was obsessed with his remixes and DJ mixes that he would release regularly back in the day. In the indie heyday his remix of Lykke Li’s 'I Follow Rivers' was played everywhere! Such an amazing dance floor track! Now some 15 years later they have reconnected again, this time with Lykke Li’s new track 'Lucky Again' and once again it is dance pop gold. Only wish they would do an extended mix as it’s very short, clocking in at 2:42. Oh well repeat it is...

Future Islands announced they will be releasing a new album celebrating 20 years of their existence called 'From a Hole in the Floor to a Fountain of Youth' on May 22nd. It will feature rarities throughout their career and a couple new tracks "Sail" and "Find Love". Really loving the tender "Sail". I can hear this track over and over on repeat. Death Cab for Cutie :: I Built You a Tower

Speaking of indie legends Death Cab for Cutie recently announced the release of new album 'I Built a Tower' seeing the light of day June 5th. The first single they've released from it is called "Riptides" and it is classic Death Cab for Cutie! Ben Gibbard's voice still sounding as amazing as ever. We may never get a second Postal Service record, but it's good to know Death Cab is still chugging along after all these years and hopefully for many more to come. They will be touring to support the new album so be sure to check that out if it comes through your neck of the woods. They never disappoint live.

The Strokes :: Reality Awaits

Indie NYC legends The Strokes recently announced the arrival of new album 'Reality Awaits' landing June the 26th. It's their first new album since 2020's 'The New Abnormal'. The first taste we've gotten so far from it is new single "Going Shopping". Although I am not a huge fan of the auto-tune on the track I am a huge fan of The Strokes and am excited to see what else is in store for us in the album. They have also been busy performing at this years Coachella and planning a tour that will bring them to our neck of the woods in Hollywood at the Hard Rock Live on September the 13th! Might wanna look into getting some tickets for that!

Tiga :: Hotlife

Canadian electronic artist Tiga who we've been a fan of at OTR for decades now recently released new album 'Hotlife'. It's his first new solo album since 2016's 'No Fantasy Required' and we're here to tell you he's still got it! Loving the album! In it he's got some collabs with Boys Noise, Fcukers and others and he's still got his signature dance floor friendly sound that sounds great bumping through a pair of quality speakers. Already played "Ecstasy Surrounds Me" at a recent party to great effect!

Heard Brooklyn duo Fcukers the other day and dug their stuff! Their sound is straight out of the early 2000's indie scene. Another thing I noticed is that many of their videos are very lo-fi DIY looking. Not sure if that was on purpose or due to low funds, but the most important part is the music, and that is solid! Their album O w/two dots on top (not sure how to do that) comes out this Friday, 3/27/26.

Gorillaz :: The Mountain

It feels like the new Gorillaz album 'The Mountain' has been on the horizon to be released forever! We've had singles being released for it since mid 2025. It was originally scheduled for a March release date, but they pushed it up to this Friday, February the 27th. I think they realized how long the wait was. Anyways been loving all the tracks they've been releasing for it, in particular been playing out "The Happy Dictator" in my DJ Sets for months.

Peaches :: No Lube So Rude + Miami Show

Lo-fi electroclash artist Peaches is getting ready to release new album 'No Lube So Rude' on February the 20th. It's her first new album in over 10 years and seems not much has changed. She still pushes the envelope as much as she did over 20 years ago when she first hit the scene. I remember playing her classic track "Fuck the Pain Away" all those years ago and being nervous, will people like it? The answer was a resounding yes! It killed on the dance floor. We ended up bringing her down to play in Miami at the Polish American Club (there's a throwback) and I remember Iggy Pop showing up to see her perform as he was a big fan. That was pretty amazing!

She's released three tracks from the album so far "Not In Your Mouth None of Your Business", "Fuck Your Face" and the album title track "No Lube So Rude". Check out the video for "No Lube So Rude" below. Check out more on her youtube.

PS If you're in Miami Peaches will be performing at Zey Zey on the album release date February 20th with another amazing up and coming NYC electroclash band Model Actriz. If you're around you should definitely check that out!

Tycho & Paul Banks :: Boundary Rider

Heard this song today "Boundary Rider" on Sirius by Tycho & Paul Banks from Interpol and I loved it! I knew it was Paul, his voice is so distinctive. Seems it's been out a a few months released in October of 2025. Maybe if you're like me you may have missed it. Check out that goodness below.

PS Interpol is on tour and will be in Miami on March the 7th at the James L Knight Center. Tickets have been acquired. Can't wait for that. Maybe we will get some new music to go along with the tour? One can only hope.

Arctic Monkeys :: Opening Night

Arctic Monkeys are back with their first new music in four years titled "Opening Night" which they did for the forthcoming War Child benefit compilation 'Help (2)' and it is excellent! The compilation will also feature new tracks from bands such as Depeche Mode, Wet Leg, Damon Albarn, Pulp, Beth Gibbons, Fontaines DC, Foals, The Last Dinner Party and many other amazing artists. Can't wait to hear that!

One my favorite bands from recent years NYC's Nation of Language is gonna be in Miami this Friday 1.16.26 playing a show at Zey Zey right in my hood! So excited to catch them live for the first time and in their first headlining show in Miami. Been a fan since 2023's 'Strange Disciple' and recently in 2025 they released the excellent 'A Dance Called Memory' featuring one of my favorite tracks from them "Inept Apollo". I literally played that track on repeat for months. So good!

Dry Cleaning :: Secret Love

London based band Dry Cleaning who I first heard about via their amazing track "Scratchcard Lanyard" about five years ago are back with album number three 'Secret Love'. It was just released this past Friday, January the 9th. Upon quick listen it seems like they continue with their trademark sound of post punk sounds whilst their lead singer Florence Shaw spouts off lyrics of her daily observations, which always makes for a cool combination.

Seems they are putting out videos for all their tracks with fans dancing around in each of them. Check out a couple of those below including my current favorite track and album opener "Hit My Head All Day" , plus "Joy". If you like what you hear be sure to check out the rest of the album.

Morrissey :: Make-Up is a Lie

Morrissey who was a long time without a label and unable to release an album has recently signed with Sire records, his old label with The Smiths. Very soon after the announcement he released the title track "Make-Up is a Lie" with the album with the same name being set for release on March the 6th. The odd thing is his older album that was never released 'Bonfire of Teenagers' kinda got skipped over for this newer release. Maybe we will see the release of that one as well soon or maybe not for many years, we shall see.

For now check out the first single below with the surprised cover art of him which looks like will be the actual album artwork. Probably the moment he was told Sire signed him, haha.

The Twilight Sad :: It's the Long Goodbye

Scottish band The Twilight Sad is getting ready to release new album 'It's The Long Goodbye' on March the 27th, 2026. Their sixth album and first new one since 2019's 'It Won't Be Like This All the Time'. The first two tracks they've released so far "Waiting for the Phone Call" and most recently "Designed to Lose" are absolute fire! They remind me of a mixture of early The Cure and Joy Division, but still with a powerful sound all their own. Robert Smith is a big fan having them open for them on a bunch of tours. Have a feeling this album will be in the running for best albums of 2026.
