190 - Pataenus of Alexandria goes to India in response to an appeal for Christian teachers[15]

354 - Theophilus "the Indian" reports visiting Christians in India;[16]

1321 - Jordanus, a Dominican monk, arrives in India as the first resident Roman Catholic missionary [94]

Mighty Men of God, Pastor Asir - Passed away

Pastor Asir, founder and senior pastor of the Hallelujah Assembly of God church, Pondicherry left us to be with the Lord, leaving behind thousands of his souls in shock.He was the man who introduced our Almighty Savior to countless souls in and around Pondicherry. On Monday, 20 Dec 2010, the car in which he was traveling met with an accident, he succumbed to his severe injuries. He leaves behind a mega church with over 45 branch churches. His members were all non-believers and were from a really poor background. His mission was not limited to Pondicherry, 2 weeks in a month he would visit the various northern states. Please pray for the grieving family. Sis. Daisy, children Beulah, Issac, and the members.

I along with countless souls stand as a testimony to this mighty man of God.

2 Chronicles 16:5 “And when Baasha heard of it, he stopped building Ramah and let his work cease.”

King Asa ruled for 41 years and thirty-five years of that reign was almost totally peaceful. God was with him and blessed him, protected him and prospered him in wonderful ways. But on the 36th year of his reign, Baasha the king of Israel (the northern kingdom) went up against Judah (i.e., against Asa). The enemy built a fortified city named Ramah as a kind of siege and blockade against Judah, so that he could control access to Asa’s land. Having tasted the love of God and also seen victory through God, it is surprising to see Asa panic and run to the king of Syria (pagan king) Benhadad for help, instead of God.

Asa took silver and gold from the treasures of the house of the Lord and the king’s house, and sent them to Benhadad king of Syria as payment for help. In other words, Asa pays the king of Syria with temple(God’s) money. How could a God fearing man like Asa, use the temple treasure to pay for his evil deal? Fear blinds his eyes from seeing what God can do. But ironically watch what happens! The enemy ceases his work, Judah is secure, there is peace and verse further says “Asa the king took all Judah; and they carried away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha was building; and he built therewith Geba and Mizpah.” Asa not only chased away Baasha but used his raw materials for his own purpose. When we turn away from God and handle issues on our own, life would be hunky-dory for a while, but not for long, though. Beware!

Well, there is great learning for you and me here. So many times when we rely on ourselves and our own resources, things seem to go well for a season, but disaster will very soon follow. Does not the Bible warn us to “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”(Proverbs 3:5) In the thirty-ninth year of his reign, Asa was diseased in his feet, and his disease became severe. Why did God not immediately strike Asa? He waited for his repentance and transformation. When this did not happen, he tried to bend his hardened heart through sickness. However, Asa still chose to run to the doctor, instead of God and tragically he died in the forty-first year of his reign. Alas, that was a tragic end of a king who started with a bang!

Dear friends, rewards, victory and blessing received through God is everlasting but false prosperity, healing and blessing received through the wrong source brings calamity, disaster and most important the wrath of God as in the case of king Asa. May be your making a lot of money through corrupt ways and unlawful means; it looks all colorful and wonderful until God severely strikes you one day. He would! Lot of people have lost their jobs, because they were saving money, by manipulating their taxes, swindling company money through false expense claims and much, much more. A married man living with his girl friend, told her, “look how prosperous and happy I am! God has blessed me abundantly!” He felt the two women in his life are an ‘abundant blessing’ to him. God would very soon roll over a BIG STONE on his head. Let us never be foolish like king Asa but fear the Lord!

Slip of the snake!

1 King 20:42 Then he said to him, "Thus says the LORD: 'Because you have let slip out of your hand a man whom I appointed to utter destruction, therefore your life shall go for his life, and your people for his people.' "

In the above scripture, King Ahab was supposed to kill Ben-Hadad, the crafty fellow, but instead, Ahab allowed him to escape, God was very angry and sent a prophet to prophesy against him and said, ‘your life shall go for his life, and your people for his people.' God hates disobedience and harboring sins in our life. Beware!

Friends, the hidden sins in your life are like snakes slithering in your life! Do you have an illicit relationship that you have still not come out of, do you still smoke, may be you drink during week-ends, may be there is someone who calls you daily, which makes your heart flutter and you talk to that person, even though you are married, may be there are false certificates lying in the cupboard, are their liquor bottles stored in the fridge, what about the magazines that you have in your shelf filled with filth, come on, all of them are snakes……. Kill them! The pirated soft ware, the illegally downloaded songs in your system, philosophical books that contradicts faith in Jesus are all snakes in the cupboard. Burn them! In the book of Acts (Acts 19:19) we read of an incident where those ‘who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted up the value of them, and it totaled fifty thousand pieces of silver.’ Such should be our attitude!

Being a voracious reader, before salvation, I would just about read anything that came into my hand. I had some philosophical books in my collection, which I destroyed along with many other books that were in my library. I even destroyed some of the novels of great writers like Jeffrey Archer, whom at one time I adored. Anything that contradicted my faith in Jesus were snakes for me. I destroyed them completely!

Empty things………..

1 Samuel 12: 21 “And do not turn aside; for then you would go after empty things which cannot profit or deliver, for they are nothing.”

In the above scripture, prophet Samuel spoke to the people of Israel, who thought a king would deliver them, but they failed to follow the right path shown by God, hence Samuel again warned them not to follow the empty things of this world - for they are nothing. Hearken to the voice of God today!

Look at Adolph Hitler. He thought he was the most powerful one in existence, and he even tried to annihilate the Jews and create a new and superior race of humans. Yet, in the end, he hunkered down in a shelter and committed suicide.

Getting to become the number one in any given field is not a wrong thought, but when it becomes more predominant than pleasing God, then that ‘pursuit’ becomes an empty pursuit. Did you know every record/feat could be broken? Rafael Nadal came across to dethrone “Tennis king’ Rodger, the man who held the ‘world number one rank’ for nearly five years. World record holder Jamaican Usain Bolt thought he was unbeatable, but he was beaten by American Tyson Gay. A championship moment is one that takes anybody to blissful heights but we need to remember that there would be an opposite swing also in every body’s life…………during such moments, it is only our personal, close relationship with God, that would take us through. Even among the Christian servants of God, the thought of just releasing that ace album or coming out with a great revelation or release a fabulous book that sells a million copies, or hit the limelight and become a super-duper preacher, are all vain, things would fall into place when we stick close to Him. All that matters is pleasing HIM! Amen. I learnt this after many knocks in my own life!

When we were not able to take delivery of my devotional books for lack of funds and when they were stacked up in the Printer’s store room, my heart broke into million pieces. God released them only after all the hype of the release of the book vanished and when people stopped calling me for the books. Many of the books by then were eaten away by moth……I can’t express my pain in words! God taught me that more than my projects, He is important in my life. I came to a point when I wept at His feet and said: “I surrender all my passions, my projects and my dream at thy Feet, you are just enough for me!” It was only after this surrender, God unfolded His plans for my life. First, though, I had to die to self, in order to receive His blessings!

Friends, please get my message right today, desire to excel at work or in any given field is not wrong, BUT, again a big but, pleasing and making God happy is of utmost importance. I want to reiterate that here. Ostentatious life style leads to ‘Match fixing scandals’ and other various corruption that happens all around us. I know the glittering life style of the movie stars certainly mesmerizes our young people, but let me warn you today, they are like the morning dew, they would vanish. Most live their lives recklessly until the great awakening moment comes. Pursue God and the good things that He offers you!

I am the Only Way

John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"

Dear children, I am the way, the truth, and the life. I gave you my word, for you to read and meditate. I gave you the book of life, book of truth, which shows you way to live. Let my book be your reference. Do not be confused by words of false prophets and their preaching. Imposters and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect. So be careful My children you are in the last hours.

MY word is more than enough for you to conquer. Do not believe men because men see your face but I see your heart. I am the one going to judge you not the men around you. Do not be afraid of men, after all they can only talk, they do nothing for Me. Their mouth are open cemetery, their speech can kill you sometimes. Do not worry, I am with you. I will never let you go down.

Child, sometimes I have to take my rod to correct you. I do this out of my love. Acknowledge your shortcoming, repent and mend your ways. Accept My correction wholeheartedly, and you will see the fruits. I do not want you to be deceived in this last hour. I urge you to not to be deceived by the satan. My child, satan is waiting to kill steal and destroy. So be careful, read my word and meditate, I will talk to you directly through my word, through visions and through my own voice.

Its time for you to choose what you want. If you want me to talk to you directly read My words and meditate. Stop running behind false prophet and preachers. Hold on to me, I would give it to you.

Luke 22:46 "Why are you sleeping? he asked them. Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation"

Watch, be on the look out. It means to be awake and aware of surrounding realities.When you watch out, you would not be sucked into the wisdom of this world, rather your mind will stay alert to my voice. Pray so that you will not fall into any temptation. In this world you might be facing a lot of temptations and you might be fighting hard to overcome it. The temptation comes from the devil, he tries to sever my relationship with you. Many of you are tempted by worldly desires like name, fame, money and other things of the earth, you excuse yourself my saying "GOD has made all this for me to enjoy". Yes, I created the earth and things on this earth for you, but I never wanted you to be enslaved by my earthly creations. I have told you many times, when you are tempted, don't ever say that I am tempting you. Each one of you are tempted, drawn away and enticed by your own evil desires.

Temptation is common for everyone. Temptations that you experience are not different from what others experience. Remember, I withstood the temptation as a man. When you are tempted, seek ME before you drown in SIN. I will show you a way out, I will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. Practice restraint with prayer and supplication, acknowledging your weakness, I would help you grow stronger and act smarter in your struggle against sin.

When coming in to sense that you are falling into temptation, immediately run away from it. Call on me, I will act against him who is giving temptations to you. Do not worry, I will stand by your side and would protect you, when you seek me in earnest.

Remember, Temptations lead to SIN and SIN causes Death. Stay awake, and pray that you won't be tempted.

AMEN.
