Plot:

Alone among assassins, Jack (Clooney) is a master craftsman. When a job in Sweden ends more harshly than expected for this American abroad, he vows to his contact Larry (Bruce Altman) that his next assignment will be his last. Jack reports to the Italian countryside, where he holes up in a small town and relishes being away from death for a spell. The assignment, as specified by a Belgian woman, Mathilde (Thekla Reuten of "In Bruges"), is in the offing as a weapon is constructed. Surprising himself, Jack seeks out the friendship of local priest Father Benedetto (Italian stage and screen veteran Paolo Bonacelli) and pursues romance with local woman Clara (Italian leading lady Violante Placido). But by stepping out of the shadows, Jack may be tempting fate.

The Movie Critics Preview:

Screaming Blue Reviews - Early word has reportedly been mixed. Some early reviews complain that its slow pace and reserved tone may disappoint audiences looking for more of a traditional Euro-thriller along the lines of Ronin than the Day of the Jackal-esque feel hinted at by the trailer below. This preview, one of a couple now circulating the Internet, has sheer atmosphere than probably any trailer we’ve seen since last year’s The Limits of Control, itself another hitman thriller steeped in European ambience.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I

This is the official movie trailer of the much-awaited last installment of the Harry Potter movie series Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows (albeit Part 1 only). It stars The grown-ups Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint plus supporting cast Helena Bonham Carter, Brendan Gleeson and Timothy Spall.

The Plot:

Voldemort's power is growing stronger. He now has control over the Ministry of Magic and Hogwarts. Harry, Ron, and Hermione decide to finish Dumbledore's work and find the rest of the Horcruxes to defeat the Dark Lord. But little hope remains for them, so everything they do must go as planned.

Buds from flicks.co.nz - In my opinion I think the films should have the same content as the books, they leave out so much stuff.. It doesn't have the same effect as the books. But owell Harry Potter is still my all time favourite series! Love that Snape.

Plot:

Movie Critics preview:

Hitfix.com - The famed trio is probably together for only one scene, but even in 2010 there's something exciting about watching Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis and current California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on screen together. Part 80s nostalgia, part curiosity over why Willis and Schwarzenegger agreed, it's also a huge opportunity for Lionsgate to create some buzz about Stallone's upcoming old school action flick "The Expendables." Smart move.

If you don't like your action heros over 50, Stallone hasn't made the picture just for the geriatric set. Younger movie fans (like, guys in their 20s) should get off on seeing Jason Statham, Jet Li, Randy Couture, and Steve Austin along for the ride too. As for everyone else? Well, there's always Dolph Lundgren and Oscar nominee Mickey Rourke. There also appears to be some sort of plot involving South America, beautiful women and possibly the drug trade, but does it really matter when Sly and his crew are kickin' butt? No, we didn't think so either. Check out the new trailer for "The Expendables" below and judge for your self.

The Plot:

The story begins with Russell, played by Jim Carrey, on his deathbed recalling the events of his life that led him there. He begins with his life in Texas as a happily married police officer who plays the organ at church, prays every night with his wife (Leslie Mann) and spends his off hours searching for the biological mother who gave him up as a child. That, and hes gay. But after finding and being handily rejected by the mother who gave him up as a baby, Steven leaves his life and family behind to go out into the world and be his true, flamboyantly gay self. He moves to Miami, finds a boyfriend (Rodrigo Santoro) and begins living the high life. He realizes quickly though, that a life of luxury is expensive, leading this resourceful former cop to turn to a life as a conman. But when his con work finally catches up with him, Steven is sent to prison where he meets, and almost instantly falls in love with Phillip Morris, played by Ewan McGregor. From there the story becomes a Don Quixote-esque story of a forlorn lover who cannot bear to be separated from his soul-mate. He will go to any lengths to be with Phillip, including but not limited to breaking out of jail on multiple occasions, impersonating Phillips lawyer and fraudulently becoming the CFO of a major corporation.

Cinemablend.com -I Love You Phillip Morris seems to take perverse pleasure in confounding its audience. Is it a comedy? A drama? A romance? The story of a man in the midst of a perpetual personality crisis? A con-man caper flick? The tale of a professional prison escape artist? At some point it’s all of those things, but never all of those things at once. Even with a star-studded cast, it’s no surprise to hear that as I write this, Phillip Morris hasn’t found a distributor. Like Steven, Phillip Morris seems to have a tough time figuring out who or what it is, and for my part I don’t know who or what its audience is either. Don’t get me wrong, it’s entertaining, and the idea that such an outlandish story might actually be based in reality makes it incredibly fascinating. But Phillip Morris doesn’t seem to know where it’s going or why it’s going there, and the result is an unusual movie that’s not particularly satisfying.

New Mexico diners where the good angle realizes on keep in safe the humanity and the unborn child with his second coming and it was up to group of strangers to protect the lady waitress. This man been lead by the angle Michael and he was also in theta of helping the humans at that point of time. True battle of survival shows in this movie and it does come up with some of the factions that may not even saw in any kind of a film in history. As the two races are fighting for dignity and other for survive lot of drama made in the movie and it was one fascinating structure helping the director to carries out the same interaction all through out the movie?

Iron Man 2 Official Movie Trailer

This is the Iron Man 2 official movie trailer. The 2nd installation of this years best-selling DVD stars Robert Downey Jr. but unfortunately won't be seeing the return of Terrence Howard as War Machine but instead will be replaced by another popular African-American actor Don Cheadle. Iron Man 2 starts screening May 7, 2010. It also stars Scarlett Johansson, Mickey Rourke and Samuel L. The Plot:

In an interview with USA Today, director Jon Favreau revealed that the sequel is set six months after the events of Iron Man, and stated that Stark's revealing of his identity is taking its toll on him. Favreau also discussed how their version of Iron Man's comic book nemesis the Mandarin "allows us to incorporate the whole pantheon of villains". He also mentioned that S.H.I.E.L.D. will continue to have a major role.

During development, Favreau said the film would explore Stark's alcoholism, but it would not be "the Demon in a Bottle version". Downey said, while promoting the first film, that Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.) would probably develop a drinking problem as he is unable to cope with his age, as well as Pepper (Gwyneth Paltrow) getting a boyfriend. Before filming began, Downey revealed that while the film was not an adaptation of the Demon in a Bottle storyline from the comic book series, it was more about the "interim space" between the origin and the Demon story arc.

In keeping with that speedy flight path, Favreau's finally letting the iron-clad cat out of the bag on "Iron Man 2," the upcoming sequel to last May's "Iron Man." 'IRON MAN 2' PLOT DETAILS REVEALED Tony Stark will next grace the silver screen on April 30, 2010, and while that's not tremendously soon, it ain't that far off either. Still, Favreau admits to Sci-Fi Wire that scripting is still in the early stages.
... War Machine, the Mandarin and the Avengers? Throw an excessively drunk Tony Stark in the mix and that's one hangover we can't wait to nurse.

Reelcomix.com -The plot for Iron Man 2 has been revealed, although not confirmed the plot sounds plausible so I am sharing it. The word is according to a scooper at CinemaBlend that Tony Stark will team with Nicky Fury from the Avenger project and SHIELD to take on the terrorist known as The Mandarin. I did some looking and it appears this rumor might have started with an interview Jon Favreau did with EW where he mentioned mandarin, quote;

“Demon in a Bottle is one of the very strongest story lines of the of the series, and Iron Man is not a comic book character who is known for having wonderful storylines. He’s known for having great suits, great characters, but the villains kind of get thin at times, and it’s so very dated when you look at Communism and the metaphor. Politically, much of it doesn’t hold up well. And the Mandarin is incredibly challenging in that respect. So we have challenges ahead of us. Demon in a Bottle tends to be one that, from a storytelling perspective, is compelling to all of us.

So it appears that Cinemablends source, and EW are both saying Mandarin and in EW's case its from Jon. Cinemablends un-named source also says that ThorR will make a cameo in Iron Man 2 but this last bit I find unlikely and frankly of little interest. Thor in Iron Man? No thanks.

Beyondhollywood.com -You’ve heard about it, you’ve been waiting for it (well, some of you have, anyway), and now it’s finally here: the very first trailer for Aussie directors Michael and Peter Spierig’s futuristic horror movie “Daybreakers”. For those who saw the brothers’ “Undead”, it’s obvious they had a bigger budget this time around, and the cast, of course, is solid, with Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe, and Sam Neill all in big roles. Unfortunately maybe I just expecting too much, because the trailer leaves me just a bit underwhelmed. Shouldn’t it be more, I don’t know, exciting?

Brothers Michael and Peter Spierig have once again created an original take on a timely monster that is sure to have genre fans excited and happy since they most certainly do it justice. This time with a bigger budget and bigger stars, the likes of Ethan Hawke, Sam Neill and Willem Dafoe join the brothers in Daybreakers a vampire film where the vampires are the civilians and the humans are the minority.

Hollywooddame.com -It’s a bit on the grimmer side of movie and reading fare, but is equally as good. The film has been done for what seems like decades but doesn’t hit theaters until January 2010. Here’s hoping its worth the wait. Recently wed Mark Wahlberg and the gorgeous Rachel Weisz both star as Susie’s parents and sassy Susan Sarandon takes on the role of the doting grandmother.

Examiner.com (Hannah Lackoff) -Initially, I was thrown off by the fact that it is directed by Peter Jackson, but I then I realized that my view of him has been thrown off by the disaster that was King Kong, and I remembered how much I loved Lord of the Rings, especially when it came to his portrayal of the bonds between the characters. Incidentally, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, the dream team who wrote the LOTR scripts with Jackson, are teaming up again for this one. And the trailer looks really wonderful. I would watch this movie even if I hadn't read the book. Even if I read the book and didn't love it. I'm interested to see Saoirse Ronan from Atonement play Susie. I hated Atonement but thought she was great, and can see why she'd be a good choice for the part. Other casting choices look solid, but let's let the trailer speak for itself.

The Plot:

Director Jeff Stilson’s camera followed the funnyman, and the result is Good Hair, a wonderfully insightful and entertaining, yet remarkably serious, documentary about African American hair culture.An exposé of comic proportions that only Chris Rock could pull off, Good Hair visits hair salons and styling battles, scientific laboratories, and Indian temples to explore the way black hairstyles impact the activities, pocketbooks, sexual relationships, and self-esteem of black people. Tiff.net -What more can be said about black people and their hair? Everything. The subject has inspired countless song lyrics, books, films and kitchen-counter arguments. The politics, the economics and even the physics of black hair can sometimes trigger obsession. Now everyone can find out what all the fuss is about, with Chris Rock as a guide. Acting as African America's Michael Moore, Rock goes front and centre in this investigative documentary that is both hilarious and surprisingly informative. It began with an innocent question from his young daughter: “Daddy, how come I don't have good hair?” In black families “good” hair means straight hair, and it's been the source of pain and envy ever since African slaves first digested European beauty standards. Today, women on limited incomes pay thousands of dollars a year to maintain a straight-hair weave – or expect their men to pay for them. To assist in the exploration of this trend, the Reverend Al Sharpton, interviewed by Rock in a light mood, sermonizes on the historical significance of his processed ‘do. Rock is bemused as he goes from salon to street corner to industrial giant, but he asks tough, smart questions. Aided by both ordinary people and celebrities – actress Nia Long, author Maya Angelou – he aims to bring common sense to an arena ruled by vanity and warped custom. Bvhairtalk.com -Chris Rock's Good Hair has already been getting huge buzz, but Oprah just set this film up for even bigger success when it opens October 9. I look forward to going to the theater on opening night, so I can experience it with the rest of America. How will this movie perform at the box office? Will Good Hair start a revolution? Will it lead women to change the way they look at, and consequently treat their hair? Only time will tell, I suppose.

Imdb.com -Moviemaker Garry Marshall's romantic comedy Valentine's Day is fast becoming one of the most star-studded movies of all time, with Jamie Foxx and Queen Latifah joining the cast. Bradley Cooper, Julia Roberts and Patrick Dempsey will star in the film, which focuses on five Los Angeles-based stories that intersect on Valentine’s Day. Foxx will play a sports reporter and Latifah will portray an agent for Dempsey's Grey’s Anatomy star Eric Dane, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Roberts' niece Emma also has a role in the film, as do Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Garner and Ashton Kutcher.

Beyondhollywood.com -Oh well. You can’t say that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is a stupid man. He gave the “next action star” thing a shot, and when that didn’t work out very well (i.e. abysmal box office), he stumbled across kiddie comedies and made a mint (i.e. “The Game Plan”). Now he’s back in another kiddie comedy, or two, or three… His latest is “The Tooth Fairy”. Besides this sure-to-be-thrilling little flick, he’s got Disney’s “Witch Mountain” on the horizon, as well as a spot on the Steve Carrel comedy “Get Smart”. Arnold Schwarzenegger managed to do comedy and action and switch it up, so maybe the Rock can balance that act, too.

Boston Globe (Justin Elias) -Magnificent desolation - Buzz Aldrin’s lyrical description of the moonscape, as seen from its lonesome surface - has inspired poets and artists. But to science-fiction filmmakers and writers, the phrase usually inspires terror. Travel to Mars, the stars, and beyond often risks a killer case of space madness. So it goes, screamingly, in “Pandorum,’’ a highly effective sci-fi thriller set during a 2174 mission to colonize a far-off, newly discovered Earth-like planet. More disconcerting are the dreadful growls coming from deep within the craft’s shadowy metallic corridors. Could these be symptoms of what the movie calls Pandorum madness - the demons of the mind, demons mutated and escaped from a genetic storage facility, or something worse? “Pandorum’’ is a dark, disquieting dream worth watching out for.

Los Angeles Times (Glenn Whipp) -The sci-fi-horror hybrid "Pandorum" keeps its audience in the dark -- literally and figuratively -- far too long to be of much use besides as a patience-trying exercise in reference spotting. The movie owns a few interesting ideas, as well as an obvious devotion to the "Alien" franchise, but director Christian Alvart dishes out the dystopia in such bite-sized increments that you'll experience the titular cabin-fever sensation long before the film's characters do.

Alvart and screenwriter Travis Milloy aim to disorient from the get-go and, to their credit, establish a pretty decent puzzler of a premise. Two spaceship crew members, Bower (Ben Foster) and Payton (Dennis Quaid), wake up from a long cryogenic snooze completely disoriented. They don't know their mission or their location and have only vague memories of life back on Earth.

Anna Faris takes on the role of Sam Sparks, a weathergirl covering the phenomenon who hides her intelligence behind a perky exterior. James Caan plays Tim Lockwood, Flint's technophobic father. Andy Samberg plays Brent, the town bully who has plagued Flint since childhood. Bruce Campbell plays Mayor Shelbourne, who figures out that Flint's invention can put the town, and more importantly himself, on the map. Boston Globe (Joanna Weiss) -The most impressive thing about this film is the vibrancy of its world, created by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, veterans of the animated TV series “Clone High.’’ The characters are carefully drawn in the metaphoric sense, and cast with the obligatory hipster cred: Andy Samberg plays “Baby Brent,’’ a grown-up slacker who’s still sponging off his fame as an infant sardine mascot; Mr. T plays a police officer who does acrobatics in short shorts; and Neil Patrick Harris provides the voice of Flint’s sidekick, a monkey named Steve.

Chicago Tribune (Matt Pais) -Silly and surprisingly funny, "Meatballs" is light on its feet and quick-witted, with a bonus self-awareness that most family flicks confuse with irony. The celeb voices also come from the right celebs (including Bruce Campbell and Mr. T), disappearing into their characters instead of sounding like bored versions of themselves (as in "9"). It would have been nice to see writers-directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller confront more impact behind edible weather (What happens to the restaurant industry? How do you water a crop of tomatoes with fudge?). Still, this tale of gluttony is coated in pancake syrup, twisted by a spaghetti tornado and elevated into something like a Wonka daydream.

The Plot:

Chicago Tribune (Geoff Berkshire) -The movie only stays still when it finds an interesting bit of conversation, otherwise operating in perpetual motion, constantly shifting perspectives and introducing important new characters deep into its running time. If the traditional approach would be watching the basterds carry out a mission (à la “Valkyrie,” “Defiance” and other recent WWII tales), Tarantino prefers to imagine how these renegades would inspire or interact with a razor-sharp villain like Landa, a glamorous adventuress like Von Hammersmark or an average person in extraordinary circumstances like Shosanna. “Basterds” is as entertaining as it is audacious, a film that showcases Tarantino in top form and boasts a multitude of characters who could easily carry a movie of their own (special mention should also be made of Daniel Brühl as a Nazi-hero-turned-movie-star and Til Schweiger as a German rebel). And about that ending…well, you’ll just have to see it for yourself.

E! Online (Luke Thompson) -Though the misleading marketing would have you believe it's an action flick about Brad Pitt kicking Kraut keisters from here to eternity, Quentin Tarantino's revisionist take on World War II actually unfolds more as a series of suspense-laden conversations. And he's really, really good at doing them.

The Plot:

An extraterrestrial race forced to live in slum-like conditions on Earth suddenly finds a kindred spirit in a government agent that is exposed to their biotechnology. The movie takes place in Johannesburg, South Africa where an alien ship has hovered for a long time without contact. When humans finally took initiative, they found several aliens struggling to survive. After rounding up the aliens and set them up in a camp called District 9, a couple of opposing groups attempt to figure out and take advantage of the alien's weapons technology to no avail. A kind soul, Wikus, from one of the group accidentally gets infected with a mysterious alien gadgetry that infects him and turns him slowly to an alien as well. After struggling to survive capture and experimentation by his own group, Wikus befriends an alien and enlists his help to return him back to his human form. Their deal went awry and they get caught in the 2 opposing groups attack.

Boston Globe (Ty Burr) -Like that film, "District 9" is a scrappy day-after-tomorrow epic; like it, too, it was made off the Hollywood grid, directed and co-written by the South African filmmaker Neill Blomkamp and shot in Johannesburg and the New Zealand studios of producer Peter Jackson. It's an outsider blockbuster, a juicy, bravura piece of moviemaking pulp, and its hellacious style almost -- but not quite -- disguises its shortcomings as a story.

Entertainment Weekly (Lisa Schwarzbaum) -The political resonance is sharp. But the movie wears its allegorical flourishes lightly.  A thinking person's sci-fi movie from an inventive director of shorts and TV commercials, District 9 revels in the fun of mashing up  narrative styles, with much of the footage presented as if shot by a documentary team on the scene. (Cloverfield made merry with the same vérité conceit.) The action — and there's plenty — really takes off when a big corporation (any resemblance to Halliburton is...your call) is hired to move the creatures from the slumlike township in which they have been segregated to something like a concentration camp, something meaner and farther away.

Movie Information:

This Is It was a planned series of 50 concerts by Michael Jackson to be held at the The O2 arena in London. They were scheduled to begin in July 2009 and continue through March 2010. Less than three weeks before the first show was due to begin and with all concerts being sold out, Jackson died of a cardiac arrest.

Jackson promoted the concerts by appearing at a press conference on the arena site. AEG Live, the concert promoters, released a promotional video that took up an entire commercial break, setting a record for ITV. The shows were to be Jackson's first major series of concerts since the HIStory World Tour finished in 1997, and had been cited as one of the year's most important musical events. Over one million people would have attended in total. Randy Phillips, president and chief executive of AEG Live, stated that the first 10 dates alone would have earned the singer approximately £50 million. Originally 10 concerts were announced, however public demand resulted in a 50 date sold out residency. Ticket sales broke several records and AEG Live stated that Jackson could have sold more dates. Michael Jackson fans scrambled to snap up tickets for the upcoming film about the entertainer's final concert rehearsals, studio chiefs said Monday, cranking up hype for the eagerly-anticipated movie. A statement from Sony Pictures Entertainment said fans around the globe had rushed to buy tickets ahead of the release of "This Is It," which will include unseen footage of Jackson preparing for his series of London comeback shows. Advance screenings of the film will begin on October 27 before a worldwide release a day later. The movie will screen for two weeks only. -MSN

Paranormal Activity Movie Trailer

This is the official movie trailer of the latest Horror "reality" flick this month Paranormal Activity. The movie which looks like it has been finished since 2007 stars Katie Featherston, Micah Sloat and Michael Bayouth.

The Plot:
The happy young couple moves in on a typical starter family home and became inclined to shoot video footages around their home especially their bedroom after feeling a little unusual about another unwelcome presence around them.

Their video footages reveal stunningly scary footages of paranormal activity happening in their bedroom while they are sleeping. The story continues as they struggle to fend off their unwelcome guest/s.

The film is shot documentary style (but is scripted, like "Blair Witch"), and concerns a couple who may have a poltergeist in their home. They're dubious at first, but quickly change their tunes after "things" start happening. But by then is it too late? After all, horror movies have a tendency to punish doubters as much as amorous teenagers.

One of the things that makes "Paranormal Activity" unique is its release schedule. Right now, the film is only being screened in a handful of theaters. However, if moviegoers make enough noise and bug the studio bigwigs, the film may get a wider release. Wisely, the filmmakers have made it easy for fans to voice their demand. Movie Critics Review:

Hollywood Reporter (Kevin Lally) -It's a smart move, since much of "Paranormal" is as exciting as the outtakes from a particularly dull episode of "Big Brother." Careful handling is a must for the picture to capitalize on its strength -- an incremental sense of dread that leads to some genuine jolts in the final half-hour. Those shocks should generate an avid cult following, but writer-director Oren Peli's housebound horror tale is unlikely to cast a massive box-office spell like the "Blair Witch" phenomenon.

Rottentomatoes.com -Using its low-budget effects and mockumentary method to great result, Paranormal Activity turns a simple haunted house story into 90 minutes of relentless suspense.

Boston Globe (Ty Burr) -The haters are already out in force for this one, storming the nation’s multiplexes with torches if their blogs are to be believed. Honestly, the movie’s not that terrible. That doesn’t mean it’s very good, though. “Jennifer’s Body’’ falls into the dispiriting category of dumb movies made by smart people, in this case a glibly clever writer and a talented director who think a few wisecracks are enough to subvert the teen horror genre.

Chicago Tribune (Geoff Berkshire) -A lot of strong elements that never really add up. Fox is savvy about using her sex appeal to her advantage, and gets some great dialogue from Cody to help give her more life on screen than she’s ever had before (ironic, since she’s playing someone undead). Seyfried’s performance goes beyond the standard horror heroine to uncover the inner life of a teen girl who hates her best friend whether either of them know it or not. Simmons is a promising male standout in a female-dominated project. And the first time we see Jennifer post-possession—when she’s caked in blood, spewing spiny black vomit on a kitchen floor—the movie seems set to deliver on its “Heathers” meets “Evil Dead” potential. But the tension never escalates, the stakes are raised in only perfunctory ways, there’s no connection with Jennifer’s victims and we never get a real feeling for Jennifer herself. Is her story tragic? Hilarious? Weirdly inspiring? It could have been, but instead “Jennifer’s Body” plays it safe and familiar. Juno would not be pleased.

Boston Globe (Wesley Morris) -“The Half-Blood Prince’’ introduces Jim Broadbent as Professor Horace Slughorn, the new, extravagantly dithering potions professor. The performance is a lovely concoction of tics, stammers, and squints. But the character is a device, something to be unlatched and opened so the plot can move to the next locked door. Sadly, that door is in the next movie. There’s enough cliffhanging to give you vertigo.

Chicago Tribune (Geoff Berkshire) -aturing even more rapidly than its stars, “Half-Blood Prince” takes the “Potter” series to places deeper and darker than ever before. Film number six is soaked in dread (you don’t need to have read the books to know things won’t end well—or with any sense of finality), but nicely balanced by the lightness of the teen romances. As chaotic and unpredictable as the world they live in has become, Harry, Ron and Hermione are still kids finding their way into adulthood, and it’s the human connections that make this magical tale so emotionally rewarding. Credit Yates (and exceptional new cinematographer Bruno Delbonnel) for ensuring the experience has the visuals to match—this is the series’ most eye-popping entry since Alfonso Cuarón’s “Prisoner of Azkaban.”
