When I do website merchant outsourcing, I make sure that we get all the website processes and procedures that go along with intelligent outsourcing.

Usually, to be honest, my clients don't know how to get what they want. They have a hazy idea of what they want but they are relying upon someone like me to deliver.

So I will work with you on how to put together:

PHP scripts for your merchant website

Integrate with your merchant account gateway such as authorize.net

Integrate with your shopping cart. See shopping cart integration for more.

Help provide back end website merchant oursourcing like help on running or outsourcing your membership site or continuity program.

I get a lot of questions about eLance and guru.com and other services that let you find an outsourcing vendor.

I do like eLance and guru.com. I think they fill a big need.

Here is what they are good at. They are good if you have a clearly defined need, like writing an eBook or doing a website.

I find that they are poor ways to choose an outsourcing company though. Here's why.

When you outsource your back office business, you have a lot of tasks that need to be thought through and implemented. These tasks aren't defined up front. You won't know what they are.

Take a client of mine, I'll call them X.

X is a guy in the US who runs a number of Internet businesses. He has launched an information product. He uses me to outsource his backoffice. Did X know what he was getting into? Not hardly.

It's been a learning experience for both of us. But because I am geared to do nothing but running people's back office, I know the issues involved and I can build a manual of operations and develop procedures for all the little things that neither X nor I expected to run into.

If you hire off of eLance, you may or may not get someone like me. I would suggest you shop around and consider that if you have a major job like "running my back office" you consider going directly to some outsourcing operations like mine. If you have a clearly defined job, then go to eLance or guru.com.

See more about eCommerce business solutions.

I do a lot of customer service outsourcing for my clients, many of whom are e-tailers in the U.S. I have found that some things work and some things do not.

One thing that does not work is to just dump your customer service into your outsource company's lap. If I'm doing your customer service, I have to first build a manual telling my people what to do in a particular situation. Emails to send out, scripts to use on the phone, that type of thing.

We can develop this manual as we go along, but we do need some guidelines. So it helps if you've done the customer service stuff yourself. If you have, then you can guide me and I can develop the preliminary manual.

Stuff we cover:

What happens if people don't get the order?

What if they want to cancel?

What about refunds?

How about people turned down because their card didn't authorize after x retries?

What about questions on the product's function?

I could go on and on. What you need to do is put together whatever you know about customer service and then email it to me. We can sometimes hold an hour conversation over Skype or the phone (I have a local US number) and then go over everything. Then I'll create the manual and we'll use that to start with.

If you are going to outsource customer service, you need to make sure that your outsourcing company knows your expectations. That will lead to a successful venture for everyone concerned.

And see information about shopping cart integration, and membership site outsourcing for ideas on how to outsource for your membership site.

And please get my valuable report on outsourcing. It contains key insights you won't find anywhere else, on how to successfully outsource your business especially your Internet business. I will always keep your email and name completely confidential as I do for everyone I work with.

I've been outsourcing for my clients for some time and I've seen some use websites and also things like Yahoo shops, and I've seen some clients migrate to shopping carts and primarily doing things on their own site.

I can see doing things both ways but what I want to do now is talk about ecommerce website integration.

There are pieces and applications that must be sewn together. For instance, there is at a minimum…

Credit card gateway

And sometimes Paypal

Shopping cart software

Getting your products set up as inventory

Customer service

Pre-sales chat and toll free calling

Post-sales support and returns and refunds and problems

Membership sites sometimes

There are often a number of vendors that have software or hosted software that has to work together. I can help you get all these pieces to work together.

A customer visits your site

The customers chats with a rep

The customer researches a product to buy

The customer orders

The order is processed

And shipped

And the customer handles any post-sales problems

There are really good solutions to all these and none of them are from one single company! You have to get your website set up and integrate with the pieces. This can be overwhelming which is why you need someone to help you with this.

And if you handle inventory, you need to integrate your website with your inventory and fulfillment. Click here to learn about website drop shipping.

And make sure you take advantage of my 9 page special report on how you can be on a permanent vacation and have someone else run your business without anyone ever suspecting! I will never share your info with anyone and you can opt out at any time.
