It's been a very busy summer!

On Monday, August 17th, U.S. Ambassador to Ireland Kevin O’Malley hosted a Creative Minds Event with John which featured a discussion and performance moderated by RTE personality John Creedon, host of RTE’s “The John Creedon Show.”

Since our last email newsletter, John Prine also confirmed two shows in October with Kris Kristofferson. See the rest of John's Fall Tour Dates HERE.

To commemorate the Spring 2015 Tour, we have the official tour t-shirt now available on John's official online store for just $13! This is a limited edition t-shirt!

This shirt features a steam engine train logo on the front, while the back features all dates between Fort Lauderdale on January 15 and Red Rocks on July 12. Available in black and in men's sizes only.

John Prine & "September 78" LP

In the fall of 1978, singer-songwriter John Prine returned home to Chicago for a concert appearance at the famed Park West club. The show, captured on the limited edition album September 78, features John backed by his rock n’ roll band, ably led by longtime friend Johnny Burns.

Angelo Varias played drums, alongside bassist Tommy ‘Pickles’ Piekarski, while Howard Levy joined on organ, piano and harmonica. Johnny Burns and his signature guitar licks locked the whole thing together.

Prine’s Oh Boy Records is pressing just 2000 individually-numbered LPs of September 78. It will be initially released for Record Store Day on April 18, 2015. The album also features two cover tracks - "Try To Find Another Man," made famous by The Righteous Brothers, as well as "Treat Me Nice," originally sung by Elvis Presley.

September 78 will be released on 180 gram, 12-inch, orange vinyl. Each LP also comes with a digital download of the record's ten tracks.

John Prine hopes that his fans will enjoy this performance from a special period of time in his career.

John Prine Handwritten Lyrics Auction

John Prine has written out and signed the lyrics to his famed song "Sam Stone" as part of a charity auction for the Center for Contemplative Justice. You can view and bid on the item now via eBay. The auction runs through Saturday, November 10, and one hundred percent of the sale will go to the cause.

The Center for Contemplative Justice is a non-profit organization based in the US. This charity auction will benefit their efforts in San Eduardo, Ecuador to raise funds for their local school, child clinic and women's social enterprises in the area. For more details, please visit their website.

John Prine lends his trademark acoustic guitar to the track "Miller's Cave" on the new album from the late Cowboy Jack Clement entitled For Once And For All.

The album is available now at retailers like iTunes and Amazon. Several music publications, such as Rolling Stone and the Nashville Scene, have written extensively about the project, which also features collaborations with Dan Auerbach, Emmylou Harris and others. A Conversation with John Prine

On Saturday, April 19, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will present a special program with singer-songwriter John Prine, in support of the spotlight exhibition John Prine: It Took Me Years to Get These Souvenirs, which closes May 4. The program is included with museum admission and free to museum members.

A Conversation with John Prine will take place at 2:30PM in the museum’s CMA Theater. Noted journalist Peter Cooper will host the program. The two will discuss Prine’s early musical influences, his creative inspiration and his critically acclaimed career as a folk and country singer-songwriter with a knack for social commentary, free from judgment but full of poignancy, heartbreak and humor. A Message from John Prine

Nashville singer/songwriter John Prine is taking more time to recover from recent surgery.

As a result, he regrettably has to postpone his appearance Wednesday, February 7 in Fort Lauderdale to a later date (to be announced). He also will not appear on the Cayamo Cruise, which departs Miami on Friday, February 7.

In December 2013, Prine announced to fans that he had been diagnosed with non-small cell carcinoma of the lung.

The surgery to remove cancer was successful and Prine's recuperation has gone well, however, he will need a few additional weeks before he can resume performing.

All tickets for the Fort Lauderdale performance will be honored once a new date is confirmed, and any questions regarding ticket status should be directed to point of purchase.

Earlier this month, famed singer/songwriter John Prine postponed two concerts due to illness. After further consultation with his doctors, he will have to also reschedule another two appearances.

“There’s nothing I hate more than canceling shows,” says John Prine, who wants his fans to know that all dates will be honored.

Mr. Prine continues, “I’ve been diagnosed with non-small cell carcinoma of the lung. Doctors here in Nashville have caught it early, and it is operable. They see no reason why I won’t fully recover.”

Prine says, “This is a different form of cancer, unrelated to what I had in 1997.”

John Prine will play the December 6 concert in Greensboro, NC and the December 7 show in Charlotte, NC as scheduled.

Prine’s pending surgery and recuperation will move his Louisville, KY performances at the Brown Theatre from December 13 to February 28, while the December 14 show will now take place on March 1. All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new performance dates. The previously-postponed November 9 Madison, WI show is now March 15, and the November 8 Green Bay date will also take place at a later date in 2014.

“For me, there’s nothing like performing”, says John. “I look forward to seeing all my friends and fans in 2014. We have some great cities and venues lined up.”

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville, Tennessee is opening a special spotlight exhibit entitled John Prine: It Took Me Years To Get These Souvenirs. Beginning on Friday, November 15 and running through May 2014, fans of John Prine can view memorabilia and mementos detailing all aspects of John's over 40-year career.
