I have recently introduce to this package on http://biznews7.org/ on Facebook. “Easy Profit” is bound to catch the attention of so many of us that are looking for alternative methods to supplement an additional income. iPhone: Remove ikee worm

Jailbroken iPhones are at risk of being infected with ikee worm.

Most people (like me) should be affected by the first 3 A,B,C variant.

Which variant am I into? If you can find the files in the 1st scenario to delete, then u are having the variant A,B,C. Please make sure you have install MobileTerminal on your iPhone before you start.

1st Variant

Launch MobileTerminal. Login to root "su root" with default password "alpine".
Enter each line of command and press return key. Tip: Commands are case sensitive
rm /bin/poc-bbot
rm /bin/sshpass
rm /var/log/youcanbeclosertogod.jpg
rm /var/mobile/LockBackground.jpg or rm /var/mobile/Library/LockBackground.jpg)
rm /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.ikey.bbot.plist
rm /var/lock/bbot.lock
Reboot iphone.
Change password and reinstall Open SSH.

2nd Variant

Launch MobileTerminal. Login to root "su root" with default password "alpine".
Enter below commands and press return key after each line. Tip: Commands are case sensitive
rm /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.saurik.Cydia.Startup.plist
rm /usr/libexec/cydia/startup
rm /usr/libexec/cydia/startup-helper
rm /usr/libexec/cydia/startup.so
Reinstall Cydia with below command.
su root
alpine
get-app remove cydia
get-app install cydia
Reboot iPhone. Now you should be worm-free....

iPhone: Prevention from ikee worm

If you have a jailbroken iPhone, you are at risk of being infected with ikee worm.
Change default root password from "alpine" after jailbreak iPhone.

Follow the steps below:

Launch mobile terminal. Enter "su root" then "alpine".
Enter "passwd" and change to the password you prefer. Reconfirm the new password.
Wait for the confirmation.

[Bad Service] Sushi King Subang Parade

Are you a sushi eater? Yesterday, I went to Sushi King Subang Parade. I was given 2 RM5 discount voucher. I confirmed with the waiter (Rama) that I could use both voucher on the same bill. Guess what??? I went to cashier to pay bill and was informed by Rama that I could only use 1 voucher with 1 bill. When I questioned him, he said it was due to their system. I was mad because Rama gave wrong info to customers and DID NOT own up to his action. Such irresponsible staff. Anyway, I filled in the customer feedback form and left the restaurant feeling cheated... Then I decided not to renew membership and Diners credit card. Anybody went thru bad experience with Sushi King?

Surrogates SMS contest by 8TV - misleading advertisement

On 14 Oct 2009 afternoon, I was informed by a close friend that there is a Surrogates SMS contest held by 8TV. Grand Prize: Nintendo Wii (which I am researching with intention to purchase for my niece). So I did some research over the net on the movie from the web.

As advertised in their web, all 5 questions should be based on the movie but when I received the questions, they were at least 2 questions on 8TV programmes. I tried several rounds further and found all rounds had a few 8TV programme questions. After the contest I called a close friend and found the content provider who organized the SMS contest. I emailed them on the false advertisement and questions replied from their SMS gateway. The next day, they replied that to contact 8TV customer service at 0377288282.

Who should be responsible?

Update 19/10/09 1125AM: - A lady called from 8TV and informed I won consolation prize. I complaint about the false advisetiment to public and was asked to forward the complaint to her. Will update again after I receive the reply from 8TV.

iPhone DOWNGRADE from 2.0 to 1.1.4 WinXP [Solution]

Recently, I got in contact with an iPhone 1G which was accidentally updated to firmware 2.0. Basically it is bricked; The screen is stuck on DFU mode with the word iTunes under the logo but iTunes is not able to detect the phone.

Preparation:
1. I used iTunes 7.6.2.9 *Download here
2. iPhone firmware 1.1.4 *Download here
3. Download ZiPhone Patch "ZiPhone patched by kIREmK 04.05.04_G"
4. iLiberty *Download here

Below are steps you need to take to get the iPhone 1G working again.
If you have version 7.6.2.9 or lower, please skip this steps 1 & 2.
1. Downgrade to iTunes version 7.6.2.9.
2. Open the newly installed iTunes. Click on Agree.
Note:
a. Make sure iTuneshelper.exe is disabled.
b. If you have previously installed iTunes 7.7.x, you may encounter error "I Tunes Library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes." To solve this, you will need to go to My Documents --> My Music --> iTunes and rename iTunes Library.itl to iTunes Library.old.itl.
3. Connect iPhone to PC. *Make sure your speakers are ON*
4. Place the iPhone to DFU mode manually. You will hear the beep from your PC if you have successfully put the iPhone to DFU mode and iTunes will be able to detect the iPhone
a. Method 1:- One of the easiest way is to turn off iPhone first. Press and hold the home button and plug the USB cable in and listen for the beep from your PC.
Method 2:- Force the iPhone to turn off by pressing the power button and home button for 10 seconds. Release the power button but hold on to the home button until you hear the beep from your PC
***** The iPhone screen will still be blank / black. That's why you should turn on your speakers and listen to the beep from your PC *****
5. Restore to firmware 1.1.4 by pressing shift and click on restore. A file browser window will open. Select the firmware 1.1.4 file saved on desktop and click Open. You will end up with Error 1015
6. Kick iPhone out from DFU mode
Note:- Press the power button and home button to force to power off. Then turn on again OR use iLiberty to kick iPhone out from DFU mode
7. Run "ZiPhone patched by kIREmK 04.05.04_G" to downgrade the baseband. Check the boxes as shown below. Click on start

8. Wait till you see the start button available again. Exit from "ZiPhone patched by kIREmK 04.05.04_G"
9. Use iLiberty to jailbreak and unlock iPhone as usual
*Some people may need to repeat step 7 to 11 to get iPhone working again.

iPhone & Outlook 2007 sync problem

It's been a while since I posted.... been kinda busy at work...

Anyway, referring to this post....
I started having problem syncing my contacts and calendar items from MS Outlook 2007 since 2 weeks ago after upgrading my iTunes to the latest version 7.6.2.9. I thought it was problem from my company's server blocking my contacts and calendars.... Then today, I got a little fed up (I've been googling the answers to my problem 2 weeks already). I uninstall my iTunes completely and reinstall back with the latest version and VIOLA.... it worked... Hope you will find this post useful too.

iPhone flashing with black and white stripes

Previously, I had problem where the screen flashes black and white stripes after powering on the iPhone.

My current solution:-
Please check if you have dock (from Nate True) installed on your iPhone version 1.1.3 and 1.1.4, please uninstall and restart your iPhone. You should now have a normal start up Apple logo on your iPhone.

iPhone upgrade from 1.1.3 to 1.1.4

I've finally upgraded from 1.1.3 to 1.1.4. Completed within 5 minutes...

How did I do it?

Preparation

Sync iPhone with iTunes
Download iPhone firmware 1.1.4, iPlus 2.0b and International_payload. Save all to desktop
Unzip iPlus 2.0b to desktop
Rename International_payload.zip to payload.zip
Copy to iPlus2.0 folder on desktop. Click OK to replace

Upgrade

After completely syncing iPhone with iTunes
Place iPhone into DFU mode
Easiest way:- One of the easiest way is to turn off iPhone first. Press and hold the home button and plug the USB cable in. Once you see the Apple logo, release the home button and iPhone will be on below screen.
Press shift and click on restore. A file browser window will open. Select the firmware 1.1.4 file saved on desktop and click Open
Once completed upgrade to firmware 1.1.4, iTunes will show below screen
Exit iTunes.
*Please remember to check if iTunesHelper is not active in Windows Task Manager. If it is, please end the iTunesHelper.exe process

Start

In WinXP, go to DOS prompt (click on Start> Run> type in "cmd"> click on OK button)
Type in "cd desktop/iplus2.0", press enter
On the next prompt, type in "iplus -u" and press enter. You will see the below screen
After completion, your iPhone will reboot and you are completely done.

Sync Outlook and Google Calendar

Today, Google launched a new tool which enables users to sync their calendar from Microsoft Outlook to Google Calendar and vice versa. It's a great tool for those who travel out of office a lot but still want to keep updated with their schedules. I've downloaded and installed the tool to my notebook to test it out...

My two cents... benefits of using this new tool

Multi language
I can share my calendar with my family
*** My friends and family have very "good timing" ***
View the calendar directly from the desktop
I can sync my calendar on my iPhone as well :)
*** Cool ***

I would love to try the SMS feature (user can request to have calendar events sent to their mobile phone) but it is currently offered to US mobile carriers only. Malaysians: Please be patient.

Other than the SMS feature not available, I have complaints since it is FREE.... hehehe...

Wuhoooh!!! MMS is now available with iPhone on DiGi (Malaysia) network. Just recently, I have tested successful sending and receiving but there are some apps you need to install

SwirlyMMS v.0.3.5 - to send and receive MMS
Click on "Settings" and key in the following:-
Settings: MMSC: mms.digi.com.my/servlets/mms
Proxy: 203.92.128.160
APN: digimms
Username: mms
Password: mms
Click on "Save."
P/S: It is only active when you see the green "M" icon next to the battery icon (top right corner)
Mobile Preview or Mobile Finder - to view MMS
Default: Photos received is under "~/Media/MMSFiles"

Refer to the right for the MMS settings... do leave me a feedback if you can't get it to work.

Mom's birthday 7/3/08

For me, it's awfully difficult to remember my parent's birthday as they only celebrate the lunar calendar dates. I did a check on the birthday on their NRIC and it is not the same as their lunar birthdate... Hmm.... I have all my friends and relatives' birthday on my handphone and it is normally set to remind me at least 24 hours before the actual date but for my parents, I can't.... Nevertheless, the only way to express my thanks and wishes to her is just as photo on the right
