I finally finished this today after taking way longer then I thought to finish it.

BirdGurl originally requested it here at CBS. After making the table my good friend NixNivis over at Nixed Sims tried to add some decorative slots to it but after a while it was becoming why to complicated so we decided that OMSPs would be best in the long run.

A Little Vintage

I have a new mesh for you today. I actually finished it yesterday but accidentally closed out the game before I could test it. This mesh is inspired by a picture I came across online (you can find it by googling suitcase chair). I thought it was very cute and had to try making it. I am pleased with how it turned out!

You can find it under Living-room Chairs for 100§ and it has 1684 polys so it might be a little straining on slower computers. It should be base game compatible. I included the UVMaps for those who might want to recolor it.

Recolorable Windows On -Maylin-'s Tardis (Requested at MTSi) Updated 07/01

I received this request last month right before Christmas. I wasn't up to doing it at the time but today I felt like creating. I figured fulfilling a request would be a good start.

This is the second time I have had this request but the first time was way before I started messing with meshes. Now that I have a little more experience I decided to give it a go. The mesh is by -Maylin- all I did was remap the glass and make then recolorable. By doing this I also had to add a second subset to the mesh so you can mix and match. This was the first time I attempted to do something like this so if something is funky then let me know.

Let my updated mesh overwrite Maylins. By doing this any recolors that you might have will show up on the new mesh. I recolored it last year, you can find those here. I included the UVMaps for the windows and the main tardis for those who might want to recolor it.

All credit goes to -Maylin- since it is her mesh. I only changed the settings.

I'm feel a little burnt out after finishing all the Advent Gifts and Participation prizes for CBS. I really cannot find the inspiration right now to do much of anything regarding my computer. I get on my computer in the mornings (ahem...afternoon) and do what I need to for the forum and then go about my other daily chores around the house. I only come back to the computer after supper when the BF has gone to bed. It's not that I am that busy I just can't find the will to come back at work on something. I guess I used all of my inspiration for now.

There is many things a still want to do such as recolor some of Anye's new meshes, make some more winter-ish clothing, mess around in milkshape, and of course I would love to sit and play sims, be it sims 2 or medieval...but at this point the will is not strong enough.

I hope that when the holidays die down and life gets back to normal my drive will come back and I will start doing the things that are sitting in my head waiting. But for now I don't know when my next download will be (unless you go over to CBS and check out the Advent Gifts I made).

In other news I received some very exciting information about a week ago. After 11+ long years and thousands of euros I am officially a Dutch resident. They finally couldn't find a reason to say no anymore. This is something I have dreamt of for so many years. To finally be part of a society in a country I have called home for almost 12 years. It excites me so much to know that my life can finally move forward. I still need to receive an invitation to pick up the documents but that is just paperwork.

Also my mother told me about a book series she read when she was my age that she thought I would be interested in. It is called the Earth's Children Series. I looked into it and it does look interesting. I have found all the books and they are waiting for me to read them. I haven't had time to read in the past month or so but I am hoping to crack them open soon.

Well I really just wanted to let everyone know that I haven't dropped off the face of the planet. I'm still a live and kicking :)

If you have been wondering why I haven't been updating then this is why. I have been working my butt of to get some gifts done for the Advent. I am also hosting a few Advent Themed Contest and basically getting the forum ready for the holidays.

I am working on some recolors for a participarion prize for the Winter Wonderland Scavenger Hunt and I will probably make one more prize for the Holly Jolly B-A-C I am preparing but then I should be back to normal with my uploads here.

Anyway...

I have a small upload for you today. To be honest it had been in my projects folder for about a month now. It needed a few small tweaks to finish I just couldn't bring myself to do it...until today.

This was inspired by a picture I saw in a catalog my dear friend Crissi gave to me. I loved the shape of it and had to have it in game. There is one slot on the top in the middle (see picture below) but for those who love to clutter things up I added a few OMSPs to make it a little easier.

There is no collection file this time since it is only a few meshes, but the UVMaps are included for those who want to recolor it.

How I Add Details - Jeans

I was asked how I made the details on my jeans so I decided I would make a small tutorial explaining how I did it. (Examples: Ninguid, Sternutation, and Callipygian)

I'm not actually making clothing in this tutorial but mainly showing the steps I take while detailing my creations. Here I am showing jean details but this could be used for much more. Click the images to enlarge it and get a clearer view of the details.

First you need to pick your texture. I am using a jean texture I made using the method in this tutorial. You can get it here (png on a transparent background).

Select your texture by choosing your "pattern" option.

Then fill the texture in using the flood fill tool and adjust to your liking (opacity/angle/size).

Using the color changing option I am going to make it a color I like.

Now I am going to add the stitching. I will show a seam, back pocket, and front pocket here.

Make a new layer and select which areas you want to make stitching.

Then using the flood fill tool color it in to a color of your liking.

Time to start on the shadows.

Using the drop shadow tool I am going to place a shadow (at offset: 0x0 and attributes: opacity 75, blur 2, color black, and check the box to place the shadow on a new layer) of the stitching itself.

Next I am going to select the area I am going to make the seams.

Using the drop shadow tool again I am going to use the same settings and drop a shadow twice.

By now you can tell it is already looking like jeans but I still like to add a few more touches.

Selecting the burn too1 I am going to add a little depth to the sides of the pants a long the seams and by the pockets to help them look a little more 3d.

First the seams. All I do is set the setting to something I like. Then I am going to go along the seams, on the back ground layer, making them slightly darker.

Then moving on the the front pockets I am going to follow the inside curve.

I then repeat the last step using a slightly smaller sized brush staying closer the stitching.

You can carry on doing this until you are happy with the out come but for the most part that is it.

Lastly I flatten all the layers and sharpen the image.

I have an altered version of my Digitigradient to share today.

This version has a shortened version of the coat over a pair of jeans with boots. I figured they might come in handy when the snow begins to fall and some more coverage is needed.

The mesh is not included but you can grab it here (SynapticSim's High Boot Adult Female Mesh). Textures on the coat and jeans are by me, winkles on the coat I snagged from Nilou, and the boot textures are from SynapticSim.

Ninguid - Adjective meaning "having much snow" describing a place.

I was asked to make a few recolors for the jeans so they come in the following colors (they are in separate folders so you can easily remove the ones you don't want):

There was a slight problem with the Alpha but it was fixed last night. The sleeves are longer then shown in the picture (they look like the sleeves on my Digitigradient).

Today I bring you something I haven't done in a while...A clothing retexture!

I was thinking that my sims could use some warmer clothes as the days get colder. After looking for the perfect Autumn coat I finally decided (months ago actually) that I would need to make it myself. There have been many failed attempts but I am finally happy with how these came out.

They come as Everyday and Outerwear.

The mesh by Sentate is not included but you can get it here (Panel Dress Wedges) if you don't already have it. All textures, except the shoes, are by me. The shoes are the original ones from Sentate just darkened to match the black bits in the coat. Wrinkles on the coat are by Nilou.

Today I bring you a Halloween inspired set for what I believe to be one of the best holidays of the year!

I've been working on this set most of the month and I hope you like it. I love Halloween and have tons of great memories from when I was younger and would go trick or treating. Now my sims can decorate so their little mini mes can have those memories.

All meshes are BaseGame compatible except the tea light, that needs IKEA stuff pack to work. Of course the UVMaps are included for those who would like to recolor anything as well as a collection file so you can find everything more easily.

I tried to included shadows for all the meshes so if there is a problem with them then let me know.

WIP Update + A Little Book Chatter

Sorry for the lack of updates lately. I have been working on a Halloween Set which is just about done. I wanted to give y'all a little peek at it. So far it has a total of nine meshes and a few recolors. I have one more mesh in mind then it is off to make recolors. I'm thinking it should be done why early next week.

(BTW: The shadow under the apples has been fixed :))

On other news I finally finished a book I started in Rome. It was called Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. I really enjoyed the pictures (which is why I started reading to begin with) but the story went down hill in the second half. Still an ok book though.

I also began Forgotten by Cat Patrick and finished it within 24 hours. It was one of those books you just couldn't put down. I loved it.

The next book I plan on reading is The Locket by Stacey Jay. It looks interesting enough and should be a good read.

I love to read and really should do it more. It relaxes me and helps clear my mind. I think I get it from my mother (who I remember always having a book on her night stand when I was growing up, usually something Stephen King). My BF says I can't possibly read that much in a day (any amount more then 10 pages...) and that I must be skipping words, but I honestly just enjoy being engulfed in the words and losing all sense of time.

I think I will set a goal to read a little every day. Though knowing me I will end up reading way more then just a little.

Anyway I am just babbling while I wait for something to load. I will stop now and go make dinner :)

I have another request for you today. This time it was for a betta fish that is about the size of a large dog in game. I had trouble with the mesh so I found a free 3d model and tweaked it until it was to my liking. I kept the original textures and adjusted them for the new additions.

Raon 104 Pooklet'd

When I saw this hair I knew I had to have it in Pooklet's naturals. The mesh is a little wonky but I can over look it for now until someone out there fixes it.

I used Pooklet's V3 Textures in all the natural colors. They are familied and binned, elder is linked to black.

Ikea Inspired Dining Set

I have a new mesh set for you today!

I've been working on this set for a few weeks now and I am very pleased with how it has turned out. I do want to mention that none of the meshes are actually of IKEA items. They were inspired by a few pictures I saw in the 2012 IKEA catalog I received a few weeks ago. I would like to thank Jim from my FB FP for the idea of the placemat. The chair and tables are recolored in IKEA's LACK colors.

It has been a little slow at my house this week and my next upload still isn't finished. I still want to post something for now and what better then a CBS gift.

Lets start with some bodyshop goodies!

Here are some vintage bathing suites for you lovely female Simmies during the long hot days by the pool! It uses a Maxis mesh so there is no need to hunt for one.

WIP Update - IKEA Inspired Set

I am working on this set and I wanted to share a little preview. It still needs a few more deco item (like you could ever have enough).

So far I have 2 tables (one folded and one unfolded) recolored in all the LACK colors as well as a wood and a white recolor. 1 chair in the same colors as the table. And a little glass vase with 2 tulips in it (I live in Holland so I have to love tulips right) in the colors orange/red, yellow, white, and blue.

I was inspired by a picture in the 2012 IKEA Catalog I received a few weeks ago. This picture to be exact:
