Description of the function.
The primary purpose of this role will be involvement in the exploration, appraisal, feasibility studies creation and field development planning of discovered fields, as well as in optimizing recovery from the producing field.

Responsibilities.

Interpreting data to determine subsurface geology and the economic importance of natural resources, using sophisticated technical software.
Assessing the potential quality of mineral and hydrocarbon resources.
Planning and undertaking an exploration drilling programme, after collecting and modeling all available data.
Developing geological models of the earths subsurface to understand the geological structure, rock characteristics and likely distribution of oil, gas , mineral-bearing strata.
Advising engineers and senior management on geological factors affecting exploration.
Implementing new technologies and collation of information in the field from geological modeling and seismic processing.
Planning the location and trajectory of development wells and putting well proposal together in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team.

Skills / Experience

Good written, communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Creative and self-starter
Fluent verbal and written English.
Broad-based integrated Geology and Geophysics background with a good understanding of Niger-Delta geology.
Minimum of ten (10) years relevant experience in an oil producing environment (operating companies preferred).

Client wishes to have both FEED / Detailed Engineering Design performed in support of its plan to install GPR fire fighting systems at two existing unmanned offshore platform.
Currently, there are no firewater safety systems on these facilities apart from wheel fire extinguishers at the platform to handle any fire outbreak. The main purpose of this upgrade is to ensure availability of firewater safety system with capability to adequately handle any potential fire outbreak. This will safely enhance the existing firefighting capability of the two satellite platforms.
Both locations are without platform cranes

Qualification:

Lead Piping Engineer of not less than 12 years experience in Engineering design (onshore/offshore, and production facilities)
We are about to commence on a Project with one of our clients for FEED and DED of Fire Water System to their existing 2 Platforms
Location of work Victoria Island Lagos in Client's premises and or in associate office also located in Victoria Island, Lagos
Project Fire fighting system on 2 existing PLTF
Duration 4 to 6 months beginning end of August or probably first week of September 2012

Position Description

Provide advisory role to the Offshore Field Superintendent.

Collate data from the various production sources and analyse for trends and fluctuations. Make recommendations to Field Superintendent based on the analysis.
Maintain good knowledge of all producing assets by frequent Audits of FPSO Workforce and evaluate workforce competence.
Ensure that the execution of production activities by the work force is in line with production operation procedures.
Ensure that good reliable operations data is gathered from the field and validated for input into Avocet.
As a line supervisor ensure that corporate HSE procedures are strictly adhered to while performing all activities offshore.
Implement and maintain an Occupational Health and Safety plan for site, complete with all the necessary documentation as per company policies and procedures
Conduct daily meeting with the OIM and Team Leaders

Position Requirements

A degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline is essential with at least 15 years work experience.
Should have all management characteristics, skills and expertise to manage multi-cultural and interact with multi discipline teams
15 years' experience at a senior supervisory level in Production operations.
Experience in deep water sub surface facilities is essential.
Should be a very good communicator and have the ability and desire to establish and maintain amicable relationships with all levels of employees and contractors.
Should have strong understanding and ability to ensure that risks related to Health and safety are managed and minimized to ensure cost effective operations.
Process and terminal operations experience.
Knowledgeable in subsea systems and operations.
