"Just one little time a day", I said. Turns out that was WAY more than it seemed. What I also found out was I love instagram! I had the app downloaded on my phone for a solid year before I ever took it for a spin. I like that I can post my photos immediately versus me storing them up for way too long and never getting around to it like I am known to do. Hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiii! (that's to make up for all the ones I've missed in my absence.)
I have missed blogging plenty.. really. Between my bad health and my terrific happiness with my relationship I just haven't made the time. No more!! I am slowly getting back into the groove of things... If I can just work in a little bit each day I'll be pleased; I'm learning to multitask! Tyler recently got a new job therefore I'll be forced into having more free time and getting more done. I had the good fortune of selling most of my items in my etsy shop and I've added a few more here and there. I really enjoy having my little online boutique as I like to pretend it is, it makes the thrill of the hunt more exciting and justifiable to my bank account. Also, it's a fantastic place to shop in general.. it pains me to know there are so many preowned unloved items out and about in the world all alone, all the items made by someone's caring hands going unappreciated, starving and freezing in the rain! Wait, what? I'm rambling for sure. I haven't been doing absolutely nothing so needless to say, there's a fair amount of backlog show and tell material I've accumulated: Prepare for ensembles that make no sense, people! Sweaters and wool hats in the sticky 100+ degree humidity-riddled heat of a southern summer? Yep, so thanks in advance for letting me share.
On to it, then!

All items thrifted except for the jeans, which I am not ashamed to admit came from Wal-Mart for about $20. I've said it and I'll keep saying it.. I am not big into brands, I just don't care. If it fits, it fits! If you feel good in it, it's perfect!

Hello again. Everything I am wearing here was thrifted except for the Kenzie tights I found for cheap at an outlet store. I didn't really know I was going to a party when I got dressed but it ended up well enough, I suppose. That shirt is amazingly soft and glitzy, zero scratchiness. Spring is excellent for shorts and tights with no risk of freezing, at least here. The weather is finally staying warm I think, even though I have a few posts with winter wear I will still go through with. I am almost at the end of the world is how I think of it.. I live in Alabama about an hour away from the ocean.

Pretty much none of the people here seem to give a what about their appearance, or they just conform to that highstreet college party girl thing which just looks cheap to me. I can't say I have never seen anyone doing anything that made me turn my head and be all 'love', but it's rare. I guess it has something to do with being so far away from hipper, cooler cities; everything gets here later.. styles, music, even products ranging from cosmetics to food. It's pathetic. I love it here, the people are friendly, it has it's small town charm.. but I sometimes feel that the rest of the world thinks southerners are too retarded to know they're missing anything. Which, to be honest, a lot of them probably are. I'm not saying I live in the worst city in the world, there just isn't a lot of inspiration wandering about. Anyway, I hope everyone is grand.

I don't know if I ever even mentioned getting a new awesome camera for christmas, but I did. My dear sweet boyfriend, Tyler, bought me a few accessories for it and they got here yesterday. I'm excited not to have to rely on my self timer and shotty photos all the time. Well, I can at least say Tyler does well behind the camera, which I've always been so jealous to read about other girls and their boys involvement in this hobby. It's really sweet and nice to have support on something that probably seems so silly to him haha..

These are just a few random pictures of recent to change it up from my stupid face all of the time

Oh, yes! I almost forgot. I got both my philtrum and my nostril pierced :D

Truth be told, I got the nostril first on a whim because my piercer was out of jewelry for the other and I was already in the mindset to be stabbed in the face. When I got my philtrum, I was at the shop with the boyfriend while he was getting tattooed and the piercer, who was off that day, happened to drop by and pierced it for me. Finally! I don't know anyone with it around here so that makes me even happier with it. What do you think? I want to put a hoop in my nostril once it heals, instead of the rhinestone stud.

My personal tumblr isn't very exciting at the moment either if I am being truthful. I'm going to start making more time for myself to get things I want to get done, done. DUNDUNDUN! No, I am kidding. Besides that.. I am happy. It seemed pretty imposssible there for a moment but..

Turns out, it totally wasn't, I just tripped out momentarily. Wao! I'll try to avoid that in the future.

HEALTH!!!

So.. I had quit the cigarettes. Then I picked them up again. I wish I had a poll

or something up for seing how many visitors here smoke. I feel a little guilty.. and a little indulgent.

I don't know what it is but cigarettes in the fall/winter along with warm beverages.. spot on.

I am a bad seed, all that, I know, I know. On top of that, I've been eating all the candies at home

and being the laziness instead of making my own foods and being good >.<

I did learn how to make pretty yum smoothies! I'll try to share some recipes with you.

I have yet to master the skill of making one single serving.. it's usually about three or four.

I'll try to post what I'm doing and recipes here if possible. Maybe it'll keep me honest?

I just wanted to say thank you to my followers. Yes, all twenty-something of you. (UPDATE: I am a teensy bit more pleased than previous because I have *31* followers now, a few more than last time I was here, I hope to get a chance to talk with you soon and check out your blogs xo) There have been days when I was so down but I felt the urge to get out of bed and come here because some of you have been so kind and helpful that I missed you when I was away. Maybe that sounds weird, but I mean it. I also can't deny the fact that I am going through some things right now. I feel guilty when I don't come by here, so I at least wanted to say something to let you know that I am still alive, and while I may not be posting as often as I would like or as often as I have been, I am not shutting up shop. I know a lot of blogs talk about how no one really wants to be brought down when they go to their reading list, but I feel unreal to pretend I am cupcake & butterflies giddy all of the time; quite contrary, I suffer from borderline personality disorder and currently from events in my life that.. I haven't quite been able to grasp and cope with. I sometimes feel I am slipping farther and farther from reality. It's almost a feeling of swaying on a tightrope so high in the air, the wire being the present, the left of me being sanity and to the right.. a very questionable and unwell state of mind. My friends, and even strangers, have tried to talk sense into me. To know people are there for me is nice, but it doesn't bring me back to solid ground. I hope to overcome this somehow. I haven't given up hope. Anyway.. enough of my rambling, eh? I hope everyone is doing well, I'll try to get back here soon and see what everyone is up to and make some posts of my own. You are all darling.

This is what I wore to the flea market last weeekend, it has warmed back up a lot here

Mid 80's, eww! Does anyone LIKE such a hot weather? I know I don't. Comne onnn, fall.

The only thing I purchased was a little gold bee for my wall. It was a good day though..

I was waiting & waiting to cross the road and a guy waited and waited, too, and then he goes

"go on! but only because you're wearing that hat" haha.. then some girl points me up and down

and goes"I think you look so cute".. Where I live people usually just stare and make me feel odd

so it's really nice to get a compliment. Well, it's really always a nice thing to get a compliment!

I took a few pictures while I was out, too. Do you want to see them? Sure you do ;)

I take photos of things that catch my eye or have a nostalgic feel. I do wish I had a better camera!

I am currently using a DSC-W55, which is fancy talk for "Sony Cyber-shot digital camera".

I've had it for years.. I just don't have the money for an awesome one right now, eep!

Anyway.. I almost left my little gold bee when I went to photograph a real bee and nature haha

Aren't the little antique vintage pouches.. magical? Yes, that's the word, I think.

I wish I had asked the vendor more about them.. I think I was trying to keep from falling in love haha

As for the girl, I can't imagine that ever being anything other than sort of creepehhh, you?

But I like her. She seems not to let no arms get her down, and I like that.

P.S. - my font has not been wanting to cooperate.. when looking at it on my own blog, I think the smaller font looks just fine. On the other hand, when I am browsing blogs, I am always pleased to see the larger font because it's much easier to read.

So, Question: What do you think? Do you prefer to see a tiny font or a larger one, like this?

So! I've been absent again. I really feel bad when I don't come by here and at least read and respond to comments. I've been a tiny bit ill, and my dog as well.. we're dealing with

"interdigital furuncles" which is fancy talk for 'cysts' between puppies toes!

I've decided to try an at-home appoach before going to the vet. Up to 8 weeks of antibiotics can get expensive plus that's a lot of medication.. Here's what we are doing instead:

So, you can see in the second photo a bit of the problem I am battling here.

That is all of what I am using to treat it, except I changed to a stickier masking tape.

Basically, it's epsom salt soak in warm water for ten minutes which she is okay with as long as you give the ocassional head scratch! followed by an ointment

and bandages of gauze. I have only done it twice and already seen a big improvement

in both the "cysts" and in her mood altogether, more playful! (except for the little

foot wraps.. she could be happier about that, I think haha)

...

Anyway, I have still been working on getting things into my shop.

I'll be putting those shoes and the bag in there tomorrow, I think.

They really are lovely, I just have so many things..

BUT! I love sharing my finds, so it's okay.

I hope everyone is well. How is the weather where you are? It's getting crisply autumnal here in the south but who knows if it'll last.. I'll keep the summer clothing out for now, as usual~

It's a sheer off-white eyelet dress with a lace trimmed slip attached underneath; vintage girls dress, ultra soft cotton and in perfect conditon. The wedges and hat both are from Forever21 and the bag is thrifted vintage.

So! Surely you've heard by now that Missoni, the Italian luxury designer, has created a line exclusively for Target to run through September 13 through October 22.
Here's a lookbook for the entire collection [HERE]
It's been available for nearly 12 hours now, but if you're trying to shop the collection via
the web, GOODFREAKINGLUCK! I've gotten through a few times, while the rest, I've received a message that they're "suddenly extremely popular"; could it be due to the fact that the priciest item in this 400+ piece collection (a patio furniture set, priced at $599.99) could easily be less than you'd pay for a single pair of Missoni brand shorts or flats? Probably ^.^
While I don't obsess over big designers, not much my lifestyle or vision, there are a few
items I wouldn't mind owning; the tights are adorable, as are the iconic print sweaters, and of course... THE BIKE.

Yes, they've designed a bike, and I must say I love it. How charming it is! ^_^

I think the color scheme is just fantastic, and the tires, eee! I also am a fan of the matching wire basket and the detail at the chainstay (?) and back tire, I don't know that I've seen that
before. I'm not greatly up to speed on my bicycle anatomy, so forgive any errors and
general lack of knowledge here haha.. one day, one day..
Oh, I mustn't fail to mention that this bike is priced at a super awesome $399.99
Seriously, if I didn't already own a bike that I don't ride enough, I'd be all over this.

I really like the rose cutouts on this blouse, and it's a nice linen material.

It's also pretty neat that the buttons go all the way down the back because

this way, you can turn it around and wear it as a vest;

I don't have a ton of money to spend on clothes, so multifunctional is my friend.

I have been slacking here at okaybones, and for this, I apologize.

I was just about to do a post when I realized... It's Saturday!

This means I can go to the flea market here that is open only on weekends.

I like to look at all the puppies and farm animals and scour through the old vintage jewelry

from the 80's & 90's.

There's also a few spots that sell super kawaii things from Asia for the cheap ^.^

I'll surely post later on (maybe even of some finds!?);

Even when wearing basics, I like to accessorize it a bit to make it not so 'blah'.

Pins, brooches, statement jewelry, etc. are a great way to stand out without being too IN YO FACE

when you're going for a more laid-back look. It's also fun to choose a single piece that's bright to liven

things up without screaming in peoples' faces; I used the sandals for this and the brooch to add some more metal to go with the studs on my bag. Even though the top is a sweater and it's quite warm here, this was very comfortable and breezy for my day out. PS what a pretty sunset, no?

I'll try to post more pictures of things NOT my face in the future since that can be tiring, I'm sure!

I think only one, mmmaybe two, of my posts don't showcase the color red. I am never aware of my love for it really, but it is very apparent in my closet. I'm a fan of classic shapes, prints, ect. so this dress and its adornments make me pretty happy. I love rediscovering items that I've owned for years and forgotten about and putting them to new use, like the bag I am carrying above. I remember placing the seemingly odd vintage bag I received years ago as a gift from my aunt into a closet after thinking

'What am I to do with this?'

and there it sat, and sat, and sat.. Until now! I'm glad I kept it.

It's such an adorable classic bag with it's gold button details and boxy shape.

I plan to use it plenty this winter with dresses, tights, and classy coats.

yay for lost (and found) treasures!

BIKE LOVE - an introduction

I love riding my bike. I don't do it enough, really.

While I am no maniac for Hello Kitty or the color pink, I do own the Hello Kitty Retro Beach Cruiser from Nirve and am so pleased with that purchase. At around $400, it's affordable enough for such a bicycle while still including some really cute and fun details you'd probably expect for shelling out so much on a new toy :) Very pretty pearlescent pink paint, HK bell, quilted white leather seat with pink HK face & stitching, even the tires will have you treading kitten faces wherever you go with their adorable print! (see photos below)

I've had mine for about two years and this was sold out on the site, along with a few others, but you may be able to shop around and find one. (try amazon.com)

Here's a few photos of the one I own, I'll post some personal ones soon.

I am proper inspired to go ride on ride now!

These photos were taken at an old run down building that's surrounded by woods

across from the street where I live.(which makes it feel like mine all mine, of course!)
I'm not sure what it used to be but I plan on finding out.

As it stands, it's just concrete steps, walls, and foundation with separate little rooms filled all the way up through the used-to-be ceiling and roof with all sorts of plant life. The sun shines through and it's a lovely sight. It makes me want to play hide & seek and tell secrets.
Oh, summer.

I've had this dress for a long time but this is the first time I've worn it.

It's a precious cotton dress with dainty details and print, I'm just not a huge fan of the color

pink. Ironically, I usually feel the opposite of feminine in it. The bright pastel aquamint hue of

the slingbacks lend a pop of color against the pale pink & neutral tan bag though and

made this sweet frock very wearble on the sticky hot summer days Alabama is all about.

I found this romper and another like it in a bright tourist-y print and could not resist..

always love for supersoft cotton and I think they're adorably cut with the cinched waist

and puff sleeves. I thrifted the shoes probably a year ago and never put them into action..

until now; they're really fun and comfortable, moon shoes, I say! ^_^

Eek! To all five of my followers, I've been a terrible blogger, I know haha..
I've merely started this thing a few months ago, ideas and all, and I've got backlog like you would not believe; it'll be winter and irrelevant before I get it all posted.. though, I'll tell you right now, Alabama sometimes doesn't know what winter is until mid-December, if then. I'll likely be incorporating a bit of warmer wear far past what's "acceptable"/ I'm all about breaking the rules, though ;)
