Most Powerful Women Summit and the U.S. State Department established the Global Women’s Mentoring Partnership in May 2006. This public-private partnership places talented, emerging women leaders from all over the world in mentoring programs with FORTUNE’s Most Powerful Women Leaders.

The three-phase program opens with an orientation session in Washington, D.C., where the participants meet with senior women in government, academia and business. NEW YORK, NY – Supermodel, Oluchi, will participate in the March 26^th African Economic Forum at Columbia University in a panel discussion about the growing business of fashion on the African continent. The Face of Africa winner and Africa’s Next Top Model host will be joined by two designers, a fashion reporter and a fashion blogger and is expected to address a group of students and professionals on topics such as what it takes to make it in the industry, opportunities that exist for entrepreneurship and other fashion related topics.

Morris D’Voice formally known as Morris Baby Face, the winner of the Ghana Music Awards 2005 Best Sound Engineer for Obour’s multi award winning track “Konkontiba” released the video of his hot single ‘Valentine’ on Feb 10th. The video was aired on all the television stations in Ghana until 14th of February.

This single ‘Valentine’ is from his yet to be released ‘Home & Away’ album . Multiple awards winner at the 2009 Ghana Music Awards, Okyeame ‘Rap Doctor’ Kwame is featured prominently in the song. His brilliant and thought provoking rap added spices to the song.

The video was shot and directed by Abraham Ohene Djan of OM Studios at two venues in Accra, Dansoman near the SSNIT flats and Reggie Rockstone’s Office behind Police Headquarters with Miss Liela Yenma Liman, a finalist in the 2009 Miss Maliaka Ghana contest as the lead character.

The idea of the video is simple but interesting. It depicts Morris, rich, successful and overly hardworking musician staying overnight at the studio working on his latest project. Ghana: Sanahene to break music boundaries

While the past 12 months were all about Sarkodie, Da Bradez, 4x4, Richie, Okyeame Kwame, VIP and R2Bees, 2010 is shaping up to be the year of good music from a new artiste called Sanahene.

Understandably, the young musician who is an old student of Juaben Secondary School recalls his school days to Ghana Music.com. "My school mates chose to call me Pastor Loving Cee because of how I performed on stage which earned me the entertainment prefect in 2003", he said.

His songwriting skills are a big plus to him since he started doing music at the tender age of 14 years and has already experienced feats that many veterans in the game aspire to.

As an artist, Sanahene feels that he has a responsibility to set a good example to people his age through his 12 track album. He has also beefed his album up with artistes such as K. K. Fosu, Morris Babyface, Stone of Bradez fame and Shatta Rako.

His song, “Emmaa No” featuring K. K. Fosu brings to fore Sanahene’s commitment as a performer and the brand of music that sets him apart. It is a wonderful fusion of hiplife and contemporary highlife with unbridled energy and raw enthusiasm. The single, "Emmaa No" is receiving enthusiastic response from listeners especially in Kumasi.

Nigerian footballer Idahor dies during match in Sudan

Nigerian striker Endurance Idahor has died after collapsing during a game in Sudan on Saturday.

Idahor, 25, who played for Al Merreikh club, collapsed during the league game with Al Amal in Omdurman.

He is believed to have died on the pitch after a minor incident in the penalty area of the visiting side.

"It was a normal incident of obstruction," said the official who asked not to be named as he was not authorised to talk to the media.

"He fell over and now he has passed away. It is a huge shock to Sudan's whole sporting family."

The referee immediately halted Saturday's home game with their rivals Amal from northern Atbara.

The former U-23 international started his top flight career with Nigerian side Julius Berger before joining rivals Dolphins in 2004.

He clinched the move to Al Merreikh in 2006 and was sent on loan to Saudi side in 2008 before returning to the Sudanese side.

Idahor finished as top scorer during his first season in Sudan.

He scored 118 goals in 176 appearances for the Omdurman side.

Nigeria's very own D'banj, Femi Kuti, and Tuface Idibia have been nominated alongside Samini (Ghana), Amadou and Mariam -(Mali) at the 29th annual International Reggae and world music awards in the Best African Entertainer category.

The event will commence on the 2nd of May 2010 (Sunday) at York College Performing Acts Center: 94-45 Guy R Brewer Blvd, Jamaica, NY.

The best reggae, caribbean and world music entertainers will be featured.

Just when music fans and almost every other city head banger was getting into the 'Bo Wonsem Mame' groove, the tom boy-like and fair complexioned lady with the able backing of Producer Richie, under the Lynx Entertainment label, is out with yet another club banger.

Titled 'Wengeze', the song has already found a place in the playlist of disc jockeys and a hot favourite of the youth, most of whom fall for the very funny lines Eazzy introduces in the song which they are familiar with. Words like 'Shupero' and 'Pore apeshu' taken from mid 90's Shaba Ranks hits and a personal favourite of many back then, was repeated many times in the three hook track.

On 'Wengeze', Eazzy deviates from crunk music, a genre her label, Lynx are accustomed to and experiments with metal music, a sub-genre of rock music made famous by the likes of Judas Priest and Rob Dickinson in the mid 80's with roots in blues and characterized by highly amplified distortion, extended guitar solos, emphatic beats, overall loudness and rock sensibility with emphasis on speed. Heavy metal lyrics and recital styles are generally associated with manliness and machismo, one that Eazzy is made of.

To make her latest LP more adored by her loyal fans, Eazzy is embarking on a nationwide tour of some of the major night clubs and public places in the country.

Samini nominated for IRWM awards in New York

In the wake of his controversial marriage to two different Ghanaian ladies (Christy and Mercy) based in Canada and UK respectively, Ghanaian Afro Reggae Super Star Samini has managed to grab a nomination as the only artiste from Ghana for an International award in New York.

The multiple Ghana Music Awards winner has been nominated in the Best African Entertainer category in this year’s edition of the International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRWMA).

Samini was nominated alongside D’banj (Nigeria), Femi Kuti (Nigeria), Amadou and Mariam (Mali) and 2Face Idibia (Nigeria). Alpha Blondy won last year’s award as the Best African Entertainer.

Speaking to peacefmonline.com exclusively, from his current UK base, Samini said his manger Anthony Pun Daning called him from Ghana on Sunday morning, to inform him that he had been nominated. Asked how he feels about his nomination, Samini said “I feel very great. It feels good to realize that the world actually recognizes what I do and wants to reward me for my hard work.

I am also glad because International awards like this one, help me to improve on my subsequent albums to be able to meet the world music market. He added that he is proud to be nominated for an award which has awarded some of the greatest entertainers in the world. Samini said, he stands a very good chance of winning the award over his other African colleagues in the same category.

This was when he was asked what he thought his chances were. “I believe I can win this award but not without the support of my fans in Ghana and all over the world. I hope my fans will take me there, like they always do. This is for me and them and for the whole of Ghana. I will always fly the flag of Ghana high everywhere I go”, he stated.

The 29th edition of the International Reggae and World Music Awards is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 2nd May 2010, at the York College Performance Arts Center in New York. The “International Reggae and World Music Awards” was founded by Ephraim M. Martin an entertainment entrepreneur, publisher and TV personality in 1982 to acknowledge and honor accomplishment and contribution of International Reggae and International world music artistes.

Samini won two awards: Hiplife artiste of the year and New hiplife artiste of the year, with his maiden “Dankwansre” album, won the Best African Arts at 2006 edition of “Music of Black Origin (MOBO)” in London and went ahead to win three awards in the 2007 Ghana Music Awards with his second album titled “Samini”.

He won the African artistes of the year in 2008 at the Hip Hop World Awards held in Nigeria and won the Best African Performer during last year’s second edition of the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) held in Kenya. He was also nominated for MTV EMA Awards in Germany, Channel ‘O’ Music Video Awards in South Africa and the Radiophonie Prize in France.

Onos keeps moving

Onos launched her debut album 'Keep Moving' last sunday 28th feb at the ground ball room of Eko Hotels and Suites.

She performed some of her songs alongside acts like Timi Dakolo, Eric Arubayi of the Idols fame, Lara George, Efe, Sammie Okposo. Many other celebrities were in attendance, likes of sound sultan, hope davies, DJ Gosperella, chaz B of inspiration Fm with Wazobias Yaw and MC Abbey anchoring the event.

This beautiful cushion features a purple leaf front using wax batik fabric with a royal dark purple cotton velvet reverse. Piped in a complimentary colour and using an invisible zip, this luxurious cushion is made out of 100% cotton/cotton velvet.

WURA

This best seller cushion is notable for its gold foiling over the burgundy and orange wax batik design on its front, perfectly complimented by a golden brown cotton velvet backing. The look is completed with golden brown piping and invisible zip. It is made out of 100% cotton/cotton velvet.

LABA LABA

ABOUT THE DESIGNER

The London-based soft furnishings and accessories label Eva Sonaike was first launched by Eva Sonaike in 2009.

Eva, who was born and raised in Germany and is of Nigerian origin, has taken the best elements of those two cultures to inspire her designs. She trained in Journalism at the London College of Printing before working as a TV roducer/director for the cult youth and travel programme “urbanation”, reporting on trends from London, Paris and New York. In 2003 she became Deputy Editor of the fashion magazine BOLZ, whilst successfully freelancing as trend reporter, fashion consultant and interior stylist for clients such as Rubecksen Yamanaka, Firorosimo, Fashion Information, Noise Festival and Spaces magazine.

In 2005 Eva acquired an MA in Fashion Journalism from the London College of Fashion, where she specialised in contemporary African fashion and design. During this summer she was commissioned by London’s arts festival Africa 2005 to develop and produce the fashion show Afro Chic ‘05, which was held in Kingly Court on Carnaby Street. In 2006 Eva became UK Fashion Editor of Hubert Burda Media, which publishes German Elle Instyle and Focus, amongst other titles. The idea for her cushions and accessories label came from Eva’s growing up with the vibrancy and colours of West African clothing culture and the antique and retro furnishings of continental Europe – a potent combination that has led to the unique and distinctive style of her designs.

J Martins releases "IVA" video.

J Martins released the Elevated album in November 2009. The album featured 13 tracks (including 3 instrumentals). Iva was the second track on the album and the first video off the album. Iva is a sweet love song dedicated to a special one, it's the kind of song you want to jam to on your big day.

J Martins will tour 6 cities in the UK this month. He'll be in birmingham(march 12), london(march 13), manchester(march 14), aberdeen(march 19), coventry(march 20) and liverpool (march 21). Until then, he wants you all to enjoy the new video and prays that you'll be celebrated.
