Right out of the gate, Hot Pursuit delivers excellent control and handling, which isn't all that surprising given this is the Burnout studio. But the game structure here is one of point-to-point races along long stretches of road and often calls for extremely precise, split-second maneuvers in order to avoid traffic, bust roadblocks or take a shortcut on what are some comparatively narrow roads. Criterion has upped the precision to suit its design, and the result just feels ... great.

NFSW is an online street-racer in the same vein of other games in the Need for Speed series. When it's not about racing, it's about avoiding the long, wheeled arm of the law. The game purports to be massively multiplayer and open world, and in some sense it is both of those. The world is indeed open, and as you drive through it you'll see a great many players, but that is where the ties to the MMO genre seem to end. The ability for you, the player, to interact with other players in this open world is minimal. You can talk to them, compare your stats, invite them to a match or a group, and that's about it. That would probably be enough under most circumstances, but NFSW is a racing game, and as such has no real cooperative mode, so grouping up becomes pretty much useless.

Unlike pretty much every modern day Need for Speed title, there's zero story involved, and I'm very happy about that. The closest thing you're going to get to some sort of tale is the voiceover that you'll hear at the start of the game, telling you that you've been given a chance to prove yourself in a BMW M3 around Brands Hatch before winning some cash and choosing your own ride. After that, the voice only returns to explain new events and the like, but never to tell you that the cops are on your tail or that your love interest can introduce you to some jackass in a garage. Nope, this pretty much as pure of a racing game as you can find, and I for one am very thankful for that.

ArmA 2 is the latest in the hardcore soldier sim series that began with Operation: Flashpoint and continued in 2007's ArmA: Armed Assault. Both turned the relatively simple notion (in gaming at least) of moving through a battlefield into a complicated series of button gymnastics. In Bohemia Interactive's games, war isn't a scripted series of dramatic set-pieces, but a fluid, dangerous and sometimes stunning approximation of a soldier's life.

This time we're in the politically complex faux state of Chernarus, a dynamic world that, at 225km2, is larger than a game this detailed has any right to be. The Americans are attempting to stabilise the region, but Chernarus's multiple factions are doing their best to tear it apart. At its best, ArmA 2 will leave you with war stories to tell, vivid, unexpected fights to describe, and a world to explore. The flipside is the weight of the simulation crushing what's underneath. Without structure and direction, ArmA 2 is liable to break like the previous games did.

The singleplayer game escalates at a slow pace, putting your small team through scene-setting missions that take you from squad leader to commander of an entire army. The four-man team you're part of is a recon squad that will stick together throughout the campaign. You're in charge of the team's movements, a notion that's made clear when you begin. Nearly every FPS finger-memory you have will betray you: the number keys, the preserve of weapons/powers in other games, are what you use to control your squad.

In the campaign you play as the leader of Fireteam Bravo, a four-man team that is part of a larger marine squad sent into Tajikistan to chase down insurgents who have fled the conflict in Afghanistan. What starts out as a small operation quickly escalates as China's People's Liberation Army forces move into the country to wipe out insurgents who have been attacking the Chinese border. The story is well-presented with great looking cut-scenes that mix footage from the game with video from the real-world conflict in Afghanistan. However, the plot is a little lacking in originality.

To control your team amid the increasing chaos of the Tajik battlefield, you can issue a variety of specific orders to your brothers in arms. These start with simple commands such as "follow me" or "hold position" and then progress to orders such as assaulting buildings, suppressing targets, and calling in airstrikes or artillery. The key to success in the single-player game is to make sure your team is always in a position to respond quickly to new situations.

The Prince returns to his hometown of Babylon with his love Kaileena, the enigmatic Empress of Time. But instead of finding the peace he sought for so long, he finds his kingdom to destruction by war.

Once ashore, the Kailleena is captured by the enemy, the Prince follows the kidnappers to the Palace - just in time to see her being murdered by a powerful enemy. Her death releases the Sands of Time, which strike the Prince. Back to the streets of his hometown, hunted as a fugitive, the Prince soon discovers that the Sands of Time the cursed and gave birth to a deadly Black Prince, whose spirit gradually begins to possess and take over the Prince ...

The prince remains unnamed sinking the consequences of their actions. After releasing the sands of time and return to the past to destroy them, he managed to get rid of the curse that was placed on himself. Or at least that's what he thinks.

Apparently moving over time is complicated and returned to undo all the damage he created more paradoxes and problems than I thought: he arrives in Babylon and finds a whole city on fire and chasing the poor hero. Even next to Kaileena, he must find out what is happening and try again unravel the timeline.

In this third adventure, the prince will gain new weapons that allow further expand the combat system the game, which includes a harness to pull opponents, and a new silent coup that allows no need to walk on tiptoe to instant death unsuspecting enemies.

But if he thinks that the angry residents are angry with him, the surprise is even greater when he discovered the reason: a malignant version of it was created, and the real culprit is the hunt.

Prince of Persia 3D, developed by Red Orb Entertainment and published by The Learning Company for Microsoft Windows, is the third game in the Prince of Persia series. The game debuted in 1999, 10 years after the original, and incorporated 3D graphics in its gameplay.
In 2000, a Dreamcast version under the name Prince of Persia: Arabian Nights was developed by Avalanche Software and published by Mattel Interactive, which had previously purchased both Red Orb Entertainment and The Learning Company. Many of the control flaws from the original PC version were corrected and other notable bugs were fixed, improving the gameplay of this port, although it still suffers the same camera problems. This version was only released in North America.
Prince of Persia 3D begins with the Prince and Sultan of Persia visiting the Sultan's brother, Assan. Soon enough, the Prince's personal bodyguards are killed, himself locked in the dungeon, and the Sultan taken by Assan. The Prince escapes the dungeon, and it is revealed that the Sultan of Persia promised Assan many years ago that his daughter would marry Assan's son, Rugnor, not the Prince. The Prince finds the two, but Assan kills the Sultan by mistake, while trying to kill the Prince. Assan runs, but the Prince decides to pursue Rugnor, who has taken the Princess of Persia captive. The Prince and Rugnor have many standoffs, but when it becomes clear to Rugnor that the Prince won't give up, and the Princess won't submit to him, he decides to kill her. He ties her to a large gear machine, attempting to crush her. The Prince, however, arrives before this happens, kills Rugnor, and deactivates the machine. The Prince then escapes with the Princess, via a flying beast, but the Prince takes the Princess in the opposite direction of Persia, rather than towards it.

Eidos Interactive’s HITMAN: CONTRACTS for the Pc Games is the third game in the HITMAN series, which revolves around the assassin known only as 47. The game takes place as a series of flashbacks 47 sees as he lies dying. During these flashbacks, players experience a wide range of action and stealth missions as they shoot their way across the world. The flashback missions 47 sees during his injury-induced visions include some of the missions from the original game and some new missions, although the original missions have all been upgraded and expanded, so returning players won’t feel like they’re repeating previous games. Missions include eliminating a pair of brother assassins, disrupting a Russian arms deal, and escaping an asylum as he moves across the globe. Characters tend to speak in their native languages, as well, adding to the international flavor. 47 has many different abilities and weapons available. He can move stealthily, steal clothing to disguise himself, and use a number of poisons in addition to guns to take out his enemies. In many places, players have the option of accomplishing a mission using stealth or attacking enemies head-on, depending on their playing style. There are three difficulty modes, as well, so novice and experienced players can both enjoy the game. Shooter fans will find HITMAN: CONTRACTS a fun, entertaining game with a distinct noir style to it. Fans of the series won’t be disappointed, either, as 47 relives many of his most exciting and dangerous missions.

It's hard to deny the appeal of Hitman: Codename 47. What action fan hasn't wanted to slip into the suit of a diamond-hard assassin-for-hire equally adept at both stealthy hits and all-out assaults? Hitman certainly provides you with the tools of the trade, offering everything from piano wire and silenced pistols to bull-pup submachine guns and predator-style miniguns. It also lets you perform many of the tricks of the trade, like stealing your enemy's clothes and dragging bodies away so roving patrols won't stumble onto them and get curious.

Unfortunately, heavily scripted level design and some fairly dumb enemies get in the way of the fun, forcing players to rely more on memorization than quick reactions. Be prepared to play each level several times just to figure out exactly how to accomplish your objectives, and several times after that to successfully carry them out.

At least there was a lot to look at as we repeated each level. Hitman has some of the most beautiful graphics ever placed in a game of this type and the rendering engine can depict both lush outdoor environments and near-photographic-quality interiors. The audio is equally splendid, and after some practice you can tell what an enemy is firing simply by listening to the weapon's report. If the gameplay equaled the audio-visual quality, we'd have a classic on our hands, but as it stands Hitman plays more like a puzzle game where you have to guess what the designers wanted you to do.
