Not Long Before Winter...

Hi everyone, so I won't make excuses as to my shortcoming for my blogging, I have just been busy living life!! In all actuality, I started a small job several months ago and as some of you may remember a few posts back I announced that I was starting a sign buisness...well between trying to keep up with that and the new job and driving son #1 and his friends to and from school for weightlifting all summer long and now football practice has started there are just not enough hours in a day!!!!

Well anyone who knows me knows that I luvvvv the fall and winter, seriously I really do luvvvv the
winter!! I have been getting signs ready for some shows and getting ready put some out on my etsy shop... But I am really excited about one of my patterns that my husband and I have done hat I wanted to preview here first!! I absolutely luvvv it and now I am wishing winter was already here just so I could put this out!! Majority of stuff I do is on the primitive side..with the exception of the custom work I do.
This sleigh will be for sale in my etsy shop before long.... So drumroll please and now presenting my Winter Welcome Sleigh... I know kinda corny but my presentation have never been the best!

Good morning everyone, so I have been trying to redo my header on my blog and I think I really messed it up!! Matter of fact I know I did, because it seems like I made it so big it is now in your face kinda, and the funny thing is I never changed the size or anything, at least I don't think I did!! Hmmmm, so I thought about taking it down and putting up the old one I had originally but I am not going to do that.
It took me forever and 10 days just to figure this out. So if I change it who knows how much bigger it will be!! HA! I hope evreryone has a wonderful day.

Shaving the Cat...

Good morning everyone, I hope your day has started on the right foot, or at least on some foot!!!So funny or odd things seem to happen on a regular basis in our family, mostly these things involve our 10, 13 or our 17 year old. Wow are they really that old???? On with the story...
On Sunday AFTER cleaning the two main bathrooms, the older daughter (17 year old) decides she is going to cut her boyfriends hair in my just freshly cleaned bathroom, I said you know you will be cleaning the bathroom immediately after you are done, she says I know mom! The husband says, it's not a big deal, she will take care of it, ok Mr. no one asked for your two cents right now!!! Anyway I maintain my calm, cool and collected attitude(this is so not true) and waited, she did clean up after herself, I was very happy that she did clean but still in the back of my mind I was still thoroughly peeved that she waited till I cleaned the stupid bath before she would go in and mess it up.
In the meantime the husband went out to clean the garage, he was out there really working like nobody's business sweeping, blowing out crap from the garage, straigtening etc.etc...
Well he comes in all sweaty and smelly and goes and takes his shower, meantime I can tell by the look on the girl's face she is up to something, and of course she was, the husband comes out to the living room looking wonderful and takes a moment to sit down, well in this moment the girl says I think I am going to SHAVE the cat! We looked at her dumbfounded like what????? She said yes I am going to SHAVE the cat, so we didn't pay much attention to her at that time, then she goes and gets an old pair of clippers her dad didn't use anymore, grabbed the cat and headed out to the freshly organized and cleaned garage!! The husband says, "What do you think you are doing, I just cleaned the garage" the girl says" I know dad, I will clean it up". The husband is grumbling and saying I can't believe she waits till I have cleaned the garage for her to go out and SHAVE the cat.. So she proceeds to shave the cat, she said that it will help her with her allergies if the cat has short hair instead of long hair...What??? She claims she cleaned the garage but the husband went out and was using very colorful language, I told him to calm down it wasn't a big deal... he just looked at me!!
So now the cat is SHAVED, her allergies aren't any better and the garage needs to be cleaned again...but we are all calm!! Oh and the cat use to have beautiful long fur now he has corn rolls! See pic below..Have a wonderful day!!

Good Morning, so yesterday was full of alot things done and really nothing major, I mean we planted our peaches and cream corn, hopefully this will take off, even though we have never done this before, rounded out the garden with green onions, black beauty zucchini, cucumbers! I also planted tons of flowers, hopefully these will come up and I won't kill them somehow, because as the neighbor tells me, "You know Diana, you don't know squat about having a green thumb," Not true I would argue, just because things die off before I have had a chance to water them doesn't mean I don't have a green thumb! It is just I don't get to them in time....is anyone buying this??? Anyways, we weeded the back and front flower beds, and then we had dinner, italain sausages with carmelized onions on a sweetened wheat roll, this was delish! Watched the news, put the Mr. Brain to bed and then we sat outside on what we like to refer to as our treehouse deck, our deck sits above our sunroom, so we get to see the entire neighborhood from above, we spent our time talking and laughing and reminiscing and enjoying Baileys and vodka and coke, this was nice, everyone have a wonderful day!! D

Hi Everyone, well I am trying this is my second day blogging in a row!!! Yes I promised that I would try to do better at this and I intend to do my part to make this happen.
I know that when we all wake in the morning our intent is either there or not, but what would happen if we knew that just one person really thought enough to want us to have a Wonderful Day, well this is my gift in thought to all of you that come my way through this blog. Know that everyday I desire the same for all people, to wake up number one, to immediately know someone wants them to have a great day, to make the choice to be positive even if everything says it is impossible. Remember we give up so much control of ourselves already for one reason or another, we don't need to give up our thoughts to!

Pottery Barn...Not!

Two posts ago I wrote about a Pottery Barn wall cubbie that I absolutely luvvvved and still luvvvv. I said I was going to send it to the hubby and ask could he plzzzzzzzzzzzzz make this for me, of course he said yes, so on Christmas he presented me with a gift made by his own two hands. YES, it was my cubbie, I haven't hung it on the wall yet, as I need to find a spot a big spot for it. It is 36"X 37" big. I can't believe how much it looks just like the one in Pottery Barn. I wanted mine to be black and distressed and so it was. I luv this cubbie, see for yourself how wonderful it is. The first one is the actual Pottery Barn Cubbie and the next three pictures of the black cubbie is the one my hubby made for me, can you really tell the difference?

Good Morning Everyone! First of all I want to wish all of you a Prosperous, Healthy and Wonderful New Year! I am sure that most everyone probably has made their list of the RESOLUTIONS(such a dreaded word), I started last year not making resolutions but began to find areas for improvement in my surroundings, in the print I will leave in this world, in my senses around me and of course in MYSELF! I want to continuously make effort in a direction that will lead me to better health, better stewardship over everything in our lives not just in finances, and I want to be strenghtened and encouraged in life! Oh yes I also want to be a better at my writing on my blog....HMMMM...definitely will need to work on this. I don't set a a time period, or a specific goal or allow words such as GUILT AND FAILURE to be part in this. I have found when I allow myself the freedom to just be, the pressure for specific results is gone. I am able to revel in the idea that every change towards the positive is IMPROVEMENT! Life changes every second of everyday with or without my guilt of not doing well enough involved. I have decided that I am not missing the mark in life if I don't reach said goals by a specific time but that I am living life everyday regardless of the goals I have set!!! Good Morning Friends!!!! I know I seem really chipper this morning....well I am, I am so excited, not only because of the the weather starting to change, anyone that knows me knows my favorite time of year is just around the corner..so much has been going on this summer, oh where to start.
I finished my class I was taking in college with a great grade, our 22 year old daughter moved to Ohio, our grandbaby Eli turned 1 year old....school started, our 17 year old received her license and bought her first car all on her own....AND I have decided to start a sign shop on Etsy, this will be up and running shortly, all kinds of signs, my husband and I are both artist, he by profession and me just because I feel artistic!!!! Actually I have always been into the arts, I luv pottery, textiles, paint, wood, you name it...so I have decided to keep myself busy, such an understatement...I am so excited...for years my life has been wife, mother, everyone and everything else first and me last...now I will take time to really focus on the me, and I can say I have had it all, I luv being a wife, a mom and a friend, but I really luv ME to.....I am closer to 50 then I am to 40...now life has rewarded me with time for me, and my family is very willing to let me have this opportunity, and the husband is more than willing to do his part in helping me with my new business venture...I am so lucky...all this and no coffee yet!!!

Good morning everyone, I am done with college for the summer, I took my final exam on Tuesday, I was somewhat anxious but I was trying to be on the positive side, believing that I would get an A....and yes I must of believed really hard because I got and A+ on my final. So for the class I received an A, out of a possible 1300 pnts. for the class I received 1245!!! I know it is not nice to pat myself on the back, but I feel that this is quite an accomplishment for myself, afterall, it has been 30 some years since I have been in a formal classroom. Just want to share with everyone out there. I am hoping that all will have a wonderful day today and keep positive.

Good Morning Everyone,
So here I am once again falling behind in my blogging to be truthful I got caught up in this facebook thingy for awhile like most other people, but alas I have come back to my true love and that is blogging about lots of things and really nothing at all...
So here is my rant, I have just recently returned to college and I am loving it, my daughter had one of the books I needed for the class I am taking but not the other, so I went to the school bookstore and lo and behold I just about had a heartattack when I saw the price of the book, I thought they must of mismarked this baby, so I took it to the front and asked them if this was correct and they said yes, this book was a 150.00 for a paperback book.... are you getting where I am going with this, so I look at the book and think to myself it must have gold in it somewhere or silver in it, something is up with the book for it to be this costly..Still looking, and looking and looking...
Nope, nada, nothing just a plain simple paperback book with white pages and black letters in it that was it, I forgot it was NEW... I put it down and said this is crazy, I left the school bookstore quick and came home jumped on amazon and bought the same exact book for 8.95, and this included shipping to...did I mention that this was THE SAME EXACT BOOK!!!
I am sorry but to me this is crazy, crazy, one I don't get financial aid for school it comes straight out of my hubby's wallet into my wallet and into the school's wallet, what the heck schools not everyone is eligible for assistance, I think that this is a big rip off for the school bookstore to do this to students or anyone else for that matter, how the heck can anyone who has to pay for school and books out of their own pocketbook ever afford any type of education!!!! Ok I am done, I hope everyone has a wonderful day.... : )

Good Morning, so as I realize I have been away for quite some time, I have never the less missed writing and musing about life...Well as the heading on this post says, we had our first snowfall of the season just this past Friday, it was so pretty and will be until we get blasted with 14-16 inches of snow everytime it snows!!! Good Morning Everyone, so the other day I was browsing through craigslist, and this caught my eye, I immediately fell in love, so I texted the hubby and said "LOOK", and he said I LIKE IT, and he wrote YOU SHOULD GET THAT!! So me being wrote back and said well it is nice but I don't know, and he wrote back no really it is nice, and I said well honey if you insist I GUESS I can find a spot for it in the house.... me thinking YAYYYYY, but now remember it was all his idea that I get this( so he thinks!!) Anywho we pick it up and bring it home and it fits perfectly where I had envisioned it, then I wash it down not once but 3 times to make sure it was sparkly clean, I go downstairs and get my sunflower dishes that a very dear friend of mine gifted me a couple of years ago( thanks Pam, I Love My Dishes), I put them out and I thought it looked pretty good till Pam said rearrange, so I did with her help and now they look spectacular!!(Thanks Pam) and now I want to show them to you, have a wonderful day!!

Dinner Last Night...

So on Sundays we normally have a very light breakfast and off to church we go, when we get home we usually do our main meal around 2 ish or so, and then we are on our own for later in the evening. Well my husband last night calls me while I am at the store and says, "You know what sounds good" and I say "what", he proceeds to say "deep dish pizza chicago style", and I say" okay where do we get that", he says we make it"' okay well first of all it is 6:30 by the time I get home and they are all looking at me with pitiful starving eyes and I say okay let's make deep dish pizza, so I quick whip up the dough and the hubby comes in and and proceeds to cook the sausage and begins to layer the pizza meanwhile the little kid is saying"I'm not eating that" okay fortunately I had doubled the dough ingredients and had enough to make a totally fabulous cheese pizza for him and his older brother who turned out really didn't want deep dish he just wanted pizza!! The hubby and I finish making the pizza, pop it in the oven and whala here it is and I must say it was very tasty......YUMMMY!!

I know that I have said it many times before, but I love the sunflower, it is my favorite flower of all time, well for the end of the school year I decided I would make apple cookies and sunflower cookies for the teachers and the ladies in the office, I was so happy of how they turned out!! I was even impressed with them, and now I would like to share some pictures of them of how they started out and how they ended up..... eaten I hope!
