Garnier was smart enough to be one of the first drugstore brands to come out with a BB Cream-and I just had to try it! BB Creams are a phenomenon in Asia, and now women in the U.S. are bonkers for them! BB stands for beauty or blemish balm, combining numerous skincare ingredients to not only make the skin look good on the outside, but help to heal it. Of course, purchasing a more expensive brand may have higher quality ingredients and results, but I love the idea that anyone  can afford to get their hands on a BB Cream, at the drugstore or prestige level.

A lot of these ingredients I do not recognize, but you can look them up online for their purposes. Essentially, there are skin conditioners, fragrance, and colorants- just different types. Also, remember when reading ingredient lists that the ingredients are listed from highest percentage, to lowest percentage.

I find this BB cream to work great for my foundation routine! I find it a touch too pink-toned for my skin, but I just blend it along my jaw. I wish they had a bigger color selection for ladies of all skin tones, too! It is a very thick consistency, but not cakey, which I LOVE. This baby feels ultra-light on my skintone, similar to a tinted moisturizer, but with more coverage. I am so glad I don’t have to rock a full face of foundation now in this heat! It goes on quite dewy, but that’s nothing a little powder can’t get rid of!

What I’m Looking for:

I want to look summery, fashionable, and figure-conscious. My favorite color is orange right now, so I’d love to incorporate that into my outfit. We have to wear long(ish) black caps and gowns that are so disgusting, but at least we get to decorate them. I want a dress that is about knee-length, but not a maxi dress because I don’t really want it to show awkwardly under the gown. I decided to buy my graduation dress from ASOS because they provide fashionable pieces at decent prices.

I love this dress because it’s orange of course. I like the length and silhouette. I feel like I can wear this dressed up or down, which I like.

I love the length, and the color. It’s not orange, but I think it would look great with an orange lip since blue and orange are complementary colors! The yellow color is cheaper, but I’ve never worn a yellow dress so it would make me kind of nervous!

I think I need this dress. I am only worried about the neckline, because as a large-chested girl, sometimes higher necklines make my boobs look weird. I think I may add it to my wish list anyway just because it is so cute for spring and summer.

I don’t know how this dress would look on me, so I’m worried. Is it too casual because of the jersey? I’ve never had a peplum dress so I’m worried it will make me look larger as well. The color is cute also.

The Verdict:

To be honest, I think I may need to order all of these dresses, because I need more dresses for my post-graduation New York Beauty Study Tour with FIDM. But, I would love to get your opinions on these dresses- and please give me any accessory or shoe (pref. wedges or flats) recommendations!

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stain in Rendezvous

When I saw that Revlon was coming out with this product, I got extremely giddy since I had just posted my desire for Tarte‘s Lipsurgence, which I would consider a similar product. I was able to find this at Rite Aid for a whopping $8.99! Later, I saw that Target has them for a much more reasonable $7 and change. After trying this out for a little while I can definitely approve these. They are a more moisturizing version of a typical lip stain, and boy do these stain! One thing I can praise is that these are a screw-up style pencil, so no pesky huge pencil sharpener needed! I am obsessed with the color I got, Rendezvous, which is of course a red-orange shade, that if you know me, you know my name is written all over it! I kind of regret not purchasing more, but hopefully I’ll be able to find a decently stocked display, because these will start to disappear fast! My only complaint is that it is a pain to photograph! I only got one shot of the tube that didn’t look red and neon! (beauty blogger problems?)

May My Glam Bag

The bag itself was a cute design- probably in my top 3 favorites. Unfortunately it did have a pungent odor when I received it, but now it doesn’t smell bad unless you put your nose to it. I love the satiny fabric the bag is made of!

Philosophy Love Sweet Love Fragrance Sample

We got a 1.5 ml sample of Philosophy‘s love sweet love fragrance. It is described as flirty fruity fragrance,  but to me, it smelled fresh and almost floral. I don’t mind fragrance samples, but a lot of people were unhappy because you can get 3 samples for free when you order from Sephora.com, which often involves fragrance samples.

Miss Beauty Nail Bling

This product isn’t available online which is my only thing against it. First, if I like them I can’t repurchase them, and secondly because I want to know how much they retail for! These are made of rhinestone-looking studs that are pretty thin, so it could either work very good and stay a long time, or come off super fast. I will definitely review them in the future when I am able to try them out!

Studio Gear Lipstick in Pink Blush

I forgot to take a photo of what this product looks like, but I showed it in the video (above). I’m going to give this away some time because it isn’t a color I need to add to my collection, but I absolutely love Studio Gear‘s packaging. If they created a bright carrot-orange lipstick, I’d be all over it! I heard about a lot of people getting dark brown colors, which they should have opted out, because that is very unflattering on the majority of people. This product retails for $15 all on it’s own, while the entire bag is sold at $10!

MyGlam Brushes

Lastly, we got two MyGlam brushes. They are described as concealer and eyeliner defining brushes, but I would use both of them for lips, personally. I’m kind of getting sick of the brushes, but I could really use another retractable lip brush, so they should totally include one of those in an upcoming bag! (*wink cough* MyGlam!!!)

I’ve been lusting after NCLA nail lacquer after stumbling upon this tweet by Miley Cyrus, where she was wearing the color “Poolside Party, All Eyes On Me!” Her tips and toes were polished by celebrity manicurist Jenna Hipp. Since I am obsessed with all things orange, and my favorite female celebrity is Miley Cyrus, how could I refuse? I’d definitely keep your eyes out for this brand! I think their collections (2 so far) are very cute and clever. Their photos remind me of Urban Decay magazine advertisements. I also love to follow them on instagram @shopncla. Of course they’re based in LA, being local as well, I so want to visit them and watch the magic happen for myself! This polish was 2 easy coats, juts like my last swatch of Fairytale. I experienced some bubbling with this one, though, which could just be  my own fault! This is a gorgeous spring shade on both fingernails and toenails! I wore it on both and I loved it a lot! I’d definitely recommend these polishes- great quality for $3.99! Don’t they look fab?!

Recently Jesse’s Girl Cosmetics launched a line of 27 nail polishes created by YouTube guru JulieG713. I was lucky to snag a few colors at IMATS NY and couldn’t wait to try them. This light purple shade, “Fairytale” is an amazing spring pastel shade. I was impressed by the quality of these drugstore polishes (when paired with higher quality base and top coats). This was an easy 2 coats to apply, with a thinner base coat and a thicker top coat of color to prevent as much streaking as possible. I’m definitely wishing I had picked up a few more! Thankfully, besides being online, these are sold for $3.99 at Rite Aid drugstores.
