Wow, I remember listening to these compilations on cassette tape in 7th grade and realizing that this band was far more fucked up than I had ever realized. The Hardcore Volumes from Devo collect early demos from Ohio’s greatest export, and now they’ve been lovingly pressed onto vinyl for a “new generation of spuds”. Bitchin Bajas return as a duo to Drag City, with a new album in fully immersive stereo. Bitchitronics is comprised of four tracks, three of which stretch past the 10 minute mark. Kyle Iman (aka Emuul) just alerted us to two self-released, super-limited tapes up for sale on his bandcamp page. The first, Affine Transformation, is a collaboration with Hemosis (aka Mathew T. Kenall) under the name Morae, and the second is a split with previously unreleased songs from the Emuul project on one side, and more Hemosis tunes on the flip. Both will drench you in deep, deep drone. Awesomely meditative sounds from one of our favorite artists. Cassettes are $6 each and limited to 50 each at emuul.bandcamp.com.

Mount Eerie “Live in Bloomington, September 30th, 2011″ LP

A live Mount Eerie album? Well, sure. This was recored (and quite excellently, we might add) at a live show in Bloomington, Indiana on September 30th (hence the title Live in Bloomington, September 30th, 2011). For those of you who don’t have your Phil Elverum timelines out and at the ready, that places it approximately between the release of studio albums Wind’s Poem and Clear Moon. There were some snags in the production, but this LP is available for pre-order right now at xrarecords.com for $15 and will be released soon.
