So – I have been busy to make all my music on my “main computer” accessible to my other computers on the home-network.

One of the mainreasons; so the different iPods and iTunes can access all those files.
On the maincomputer I am using my iPhone – on one of the laptops an iPod…..!
But then I got problems with the iTunes on the laptop.

First I had to fix the problem “Get info of all files“.
But then; I was not able to drag artwork to the albums.

First I will tell you how to get artwork to the albums WITHOUT using an iTunes account.

In your iTunes library;
- you select an album
- right click; “get info”
- drag a picture of the album to “Artwork”.

You don’t have a picture..??
Go to a website which has the artwork; like amazon.com or (my favourite – in Dutch); musicmeter.nl – search for the album you need.
Then click with your mouse on the artwork of the album; KEEP THE MOUSE PRESSED and drag the picture to you iTunes screen into the artwork part.

So; my problem => it would not keep the artwork in the album….
And why not..??
Because I did access my music VIA THE NETWORK….and did not tell iTunes to really copy the files to the laptop.
How to fix that..??
In iTunes;
- Edit
- Preferences
- tab Advanced
- click the “Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library”

So; from now on – when you add music from your network drive to your iTunes library – iTunes will copy the files to your computer AND this way you will be able to drag Artwork to your library also.

There have been some articles on the net about “the new springboard to use on the iPhone/iTouch”…..
Well – it is something I got last night.
First; you need a “jailbreaked” iPhone…..
and the via the Cydia store you can search and buy PogoPlank (1.99Usd).

I have to say; a real nice kind of springboard. Be aware; you are not just installing a new theme – this real works like a new springboard.

After installing this; you only have one screen left…… a kind of spinning wheel on the left – and when you click one of the icons/category – it will show you the apps you did put “underneath this icon/category”. As you can see in the picture – it is a nice and clean desktop.
Nice part is; people are already making all kinds of themes – which you can use on PogoPlank….. and there are already some real nice ones !!
It really does work…. BUT – as it is new => there are some “hick ups” in this little app.

1. your search (Spotlight) will disappear – so – clicking twice on the homebutton will only show you the keyboard -> but no seach!!
   I really think that is an awfull thing – as I do use the Spotlight very often…. a quick search on a name to call – or a song to play.
2. After you did put apps underneath the icon/category – you will not be able to “just change the order”…. nope -> the first app you did select, will be the first one in order.
   So, be carefully with picking the apps – maybe first write down the order you would like the apps in.
3. a little hick up; but it does irritate me – every time when you go into the app of PogoPlank (even to just look around) and go back to the springboard, it will do a kind of respring; and it will bring you back (after a couple of seconds) to the unlock screen….. Really irritating – while sometimes I didn’t change anything….!!

Maybe to other little things; I would like the wheel to spin a little more smoothly.

But even with all these little problems; I really do like PogoPlank and surely worth the 1.99Usd

I had this problem for a while; and finally I found the solution!
First the problem;

in iTunes you can select all songs within (for example) a cd – then get the main info of all those songs…. so – you can change the artwork/the title/etc of the whole cd.

Well; in my situation – I would get a white screen mentioning “Multiple Item Information” – but WITHOUT any information…..

After some Googling – I found the solution => the combination of using DirectFolders and iTunes is causing this problem. BUT – very easy to recover;

1. Right click on the “Direct Folder” task bar icon,
2. select “Configure…”
3. select “Applications” tab
4. click on “Add”
5. Browse for iTunes and add it
6. deselect “Enable resize….”
7. click on “OK”

Today I read about a feature on the iPhone, I didn’t know about;

we all know the sleep timer function on the alarm clock; while going to sleep – listening to the radio (or cd)…. and it will automatically stop playing after an hour.

The iPhone also has this function on it…!!
- you go to the “Clock”

- then “When Timer Ends”

- “Sleep Ipod” (don’t forget to set the timer).

An easy one uh…??

This time – just a funny and nice screensaver; a flip style clock…

With the arrows on your keyboard you can chance some settings;
arrow up – down => make clock bigger-smaller
arrow left – right => flip between 12 and 24 hour clock

I have to say; I found some of the phrases really funny…
And with me; 250,000 more people…. as they are all followers of him – after only 30 Tweets. Remarkable uh..??

A lot of people have their iTunes set to not automatically synchronize their iPod/iPhone….
Some people even put songs on it like me; at the moment I hear one – drag it to my iPhone…
Sometimes on my “normal computer” another time on my “laptop” and another time on my “netbook”……

As you can imagine; it makes it all a bit “unorganized” and one of the disadvantages is; finding a nice song on my/via my netbook – putting it on my iPhone…… a couple of nights later; I would like to play it on my “normal computer”…… Well; synchronising with iTunes is not an option – as it will delete a lot of songs…… (which have been added via my laptop and netbook)…. So – iTunes will not let me put my iPhone songs on my computer……
But yes; I found a nice solution =>    SHAREPOD

On a lot of iPhone blogs/websites – the author will show what apps they are using; and sometimes they do that with a screenshot….
And I assure you; they didn’t take a camera and made a picture of the screen…..
Nope; there is an easier way to do that; press the sleep AND the home button at the same time….!

As you can see on the picture on this page; it also works with the “front screen”  (when the phone is locked).

But nicer; it will also work in any program/app you are running.

Just press those buttons at the same time; and a picture will be saved in the Camera Roll.

One of the most used features of the iPhone will be the camera….
Although some people do complaint about the quality of the pictures and the comments like “it is JUST a 3.2mp camera”….. still; most pictures showed on Flickr are made by an iPhone…..!!

And with the big hype; comes a lot of apps!

On the website of Glyn Evans you will find most of the photo/picture apps available.
Together with reviews and pictures – you will get a good idea about the little apps/programs; and will help you with the decision if it is worth the 99 cents – 1.99 etc etc….!!
