A resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, C. Hayes received Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and is currently Pursing a Masters Degree in Counseling. C. Hayes has always had a passion for helping others and being a part of her community. She also has a non-profit organization that provides mentoring services for young teen girls named after her late grandmother Barbara Johnson (Barbara's House, Inc. C. Hayes always wanted to write but fear kept her passion buried. A simple Mother's Day gift in 2010 gave that fear the boot.

C. Hayes just published her first book titled "Misconceptions" under her company Bran Nue Productions. Misconceptions was released April 1, 2011. Bran Nue Productions is also the mother company of Skayte By: Kyler D. Skayte By: Kyler D is a T-Shirt line that was created by her oldest son Kyler Doutrive. Her plans are to continue to write novels with great messages in which at least one person can relate and learn from it. C. Hayes is a woman you definitely want to watch.

Author Iris Bolling - On The Air With That Literary Lady

Iris Bolling, author of The Pendleton Rule, was born in Richmond, Virginia, has a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management. She is currently a Workforce Development Trainer with the Commonwealth of Virginia, providing management training and professional development consultation for the state workforce.

In an effort to combine the areas in her life she enjoys the most, education, politics and romance, she penned her first manuscript, Once You’ve Touched the Heart, which was release in March 2008. Since that time she has released books 2-5 of what has become The Heart Series which includes, The Heart of Him, Look Into My Heart, A Heart Divided, A Lost Heart and her latest release, The Heart. In May of 2011, Iris introduced her new novel, Night of Seduction/Heaven’s Gate.

In April of 2010, Iris was named Debut Author the Year, at the Romance Slam Jam conference. Her novel, Once You’ve Touched the Heart was voted the Readers Choice Award with Shades of Romance Magazine for, Romance Book of the Year. Iris was voted Romance Author of the Year and Author of the Year. Her novel A Lost Heart was nominated Romantic Suspense Novel of the Year, at the 2011 Romance Slam Jam. In 2012, she has been nominated at Author of the Year. Her latest novel The Heart has also been nominated for several awards.

Her passions are reading (especially romance novels), writing, sports and politics. Dr. Lily L. Jenkins is the Founder and CEO of Lily Jenkins Ministries and Vice President and Co-Founder of the Purpose Development Institute. 7th Day of Christmas - Tracy L. Darity

Tracy Darity was born, raised, and currently resides in St. Petersburg, Florida. She is the mother of three daughters, Morgan, Jasmin, and Shaunte. Tracy currently works in the benefits industry as a Relationship Manager but has long dreamed of becoming a published author.

As a child she had a creative imagination and a love for reading. In her early teens she began writing short stories as a hobby. It was not until she attended the 1997 Essence Festival in New Orleans, Louisiana, that she decided she wanted to fulfill her dream of becoming a novelist. The words of Tavis Smiley inspired her. During his speech at one of the forums she jotted down this message, "We all have a God given talent but if you don't have the desire to define, develop, and deliver your talent, you will always be in the audience and never on stage."

Tracy returned home from the festival energized and began penning her first novel. Although the manuscript was completed in late 1998, she became discouraged after receiving rejection letter after rejection letter from the publishing industry She shelved her manuscript but every now and then she would pull it out and do minor rewrites. The desire to have her work published still simmered deep inside. In 2004 the flame inside of her reignited and she made the decision to pursue self-publishing. As time passed she began to feel discouraged again but refused to give up. She did research, talked with other self-published authors, and continued to believe that her dream would one day become a reality.

Today, Tracy has penned three novels, He Loves Me He Loves Me Not!, Love...Like Snow In Florida on a Hot Summer Day, and The Red Bear Society released February 7, 2012, in conjunction with National Black AIDS Awareness Day. Books are available in print and via Kindle and Nook.

5th Day of Christmas - Shannon "Simply Unique" Nicole

Ms. Shannon “Simply Unique” Nicole is 27 years old and resides in her hometown Greensboro, North Carolina. As a military child she was given an opportunity to travel, she’s lived in Savannah, Georgia, started school in Germany, completed elementary in Lawton, Oklahoma, middle school in Fort Stewart, Georgia and came back to Greensboro, NC to complete high school in 2003 at Northeast Guilford High. In 2007 she went to ECPI College of Technology to pursue education in the healthcare field as a Medical Assistant major. After graduating in 2009 with an Applied Associates Degree in Health Science, she joined the American Medical Technologist (AMT) and received her certification as a Registered Medical Assistant. From 2009 till the end of 2010 she fought with a lot of determination to land a position in her field of study but kept coming home empty handed and disappointed.

Her past history with a criminal record taunted her daily, causing her to re-evaluate her career goals. As most would believe, having a criminal record stops you from getting ahead, but such a statement to Shannon only challenged her to push towards a different, more personal avenue. She is a found believer in Jesus Christ and knows by faith her life history is no mistake. Through trust she’ll tell you His been leading the way. In the summer of 2010, the aspiration for medical assisting went out the window and she decided to listen to her guided given voice and began a much needed journey for healing. For twelve years Shannon has fought to discover her identity, after being repeatedly sexually molested since age 12 and experiences with other devastating traumatic events from the ages of 16 to 23 ranging from alcohol/drugs, death of parents, rejection, and domestic violence.

Determined to mold the pieces of shattered life, she decided to continue her education at Guilford College, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. Fall of 2011 before entering college, she found hope and comfort in a local Journey Group of 6 women whom also suffered with childhood sexual abuse. She also participated at workshops facilitated at the Mental Health Association in Greensboro, NC, thru the Wellness Academy. By the time she started school in Spring of 2012 and her second season with the Journey Group, she knew without any doubt, her career destination would be in her walk towards healing. Previous years of networking with like-minded entrepreneurs thru events, workshops, and social gatherings, awarded her opportunities to step into the community and spread awareness by sharing her story. Organizations such as Toastmasters, Beauty from Head to Toe, I Will Live and Women in Bloom were just the beginning.

As a full-time student, wife to be, and Americorps Spirit of Excellence Tutor with Black Child Development, she finds time to work on launching Simply Unique Breaking the Silence. Simply Unique is a Sexual Assault Awareness and Empowerment movement she is creating to encourage victims/survivors to break their silence and help other such as family and friends understand the importance of a healthy support system. Shannon has been spreading the word for the past year and a half and in April of 2013 she plans to launch further into the community with a unique approach on such a devastating topic. In her words, “It’s not easy, the days are heavy and overwhelming at times, but each step of the way my hand is being held tightly and reassurance from God and the awesome people his brought into my life keep me grounded. This is my destiny.”

2nd Day of Christmas - Justin Scott Parr

At 14 years old, Justin Scott Parr ventured with his middle-school class to Washington, D.C., where the capital city’s monuments, museums, and rich history sparked his desire to explore the world.

Eighteen years later, in June 2011, Parr embarked on a journey to fulfill a lifelong goal that most people only dream of. After quitting his job with a Fortune 500 company, Mr. Parr grabbed his passport and spent the next six months backpacking across 11 Latin-American countries.

Parr chronicled his voyage through photos and a travel blog. And, upon returning home, he shared tales of magnificent adventures with his 8-year-old cousin, Destiny. The third grader was enthralled with his vivid stories.
