So I should have written this post on Thursday but I have been playing around with it for the last two days lol. I haven't been able to get the words to come out the way I wanted them to - to show how I really feel and why I am so thankful right now.

See the last 5 years has been nothing but a struggle for me and my family. Most of my readers know the story, but for those that don't here is a quick recap, 5 years ago I lost my good paying job, and of course couldn't find anything else. My husband had applied for disability about 4 months before I lost my job. I started networking heavily ( had been in it off and on 11 years before then) and met some really great people. Yes I have tried my hand a few home based business and made a little money with them, but nothing that would help us get out of this rut. Finally after 6 months of unemployment I was able to find a part time job - with the company that I am still with now. But as we all know all to well, a part time income doesn't support a family of 5.

So about a month ago we got the final denial letter from SSD about my husbands disability. 5 long years of fighting, going to court and all that good stuff, and of course their reasoning for turning him down is just crazy - they say he can find a job where he can work with the restriction of being able to lay down for 30 minutes every hour - really? Come on now!

Anyway - Over the past few years I have met some pretty amazing people and made some true and lasting friendships. One of them being with a woman named Gina who back in April had me do a product review for her. Little did I know at that time that, that one product review would start me on a journey through an amazing life changing experience. So anyway - I not only had been struggling with finances - but also with my weight. I had tried other products and things that helped it come off, but I guess with all the stress at home it just kept coming back. But now here I am 7 months later and 70 pounds lighter and I am just beside myself with this opportunity that I have been given.

Before I go on I want you to take a look at my most recent before and after picture below.

This is truly a blessing to me to be able to get this weight off. The more I gained - the unhappier I was becoming. I had no energy, was very moody and just plain out pretty much was beginning to hate myself. Between the weight gain and the financial issues - I just couldn't get myself out of the rut I was in.

Well after I did the product review and lost the first 6 pounds I knew I was going to stay on the product to help get the weight off - but me being a networker and marketer and having been involved in Direct Sales - I had to look at the business side of this as well. And once I did the research on that I knew I had to give it a shot. I mean it was really a no brainer , the product works ( I am living, breathing, walking proof of that), the compensation plan is like no other that I have ever seen before, and when I found out that the company was open world wide and hadn't been introduced in all 50 states yet - It was a must that I get in. See anyone that is familiar with marketing of any sort knows that the closer you get in to the ground floor the better chance you have of building a good solid and strong business.

So I worked hard for two days and came up with the money to start my business with Plexus. I started by business at the end of April and I am baffled at how quickly my life has started changing since then. I went from making about $100 a month with my other company ( Scentsy of course I will never give that up lol) to now I am making about $400 a month with Plexus. I know this doesn't seem like a lot to most people, but when you go from having to borrow money every single month to pay your bills - to being able to pay yourself this makes a big difference. It is a huge weight lifted off my shoulders just to know my bills are paid every month. Sure there still isn't very much money left for other things but we are making now and not having to worry about things getting shut off lol.

So that is what I am thankful for. I am thankful for this one little product that has done so many wonderful things for me in the past 7 months. This one little product has helped change my life both physically and financially and I tell you the true reward is when I hear testimonies from other customers and my team members about how well they are doing and how it is changing their lives as well!

Early Detection Saves Lives
As with all cancers, early detection does save lives.
In breast cancer there are four stages governed by the size of lump, whether the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes or any other part of the body. It is also worth noting that not all breast cancers involve a lump such as Inflammatory Breast Cancer and Paget’s Disease.
At Stage One, the lump will be less than two centimetres and will not have spread to any other part of the body. If a woman is unlucky enough to get breast cancer, this is the stage she wants to be at. The average size of lump found by a woman who does not check her breasts regularly every month would not be in Stage One.
The average size of lump discovered by a woman who does not check herself regularly is 3.6 cm.
For all the reasons already discussed, all women should be checking their breasts every month and yet most women don’t. This can be for a number of reasons:

she doesn’t realise that every woman is at risk
she is afraid
she doesn’t think she has time
she is afraid she might find something wrong

How One Little Product Review Changed My Life

Have you ever done something that people look at you all crazy for but you just know it is the right thing to do? You can feel it in your gut that good things will come from it? Well that is me. I always try to trust my gut feelings no matter what others say about things.

Back in April I did a product review for a friend of mine that is with a Health & Wellness Company. Now being in direct sales myself I am all for trying out others products and supporting them in any way I can. Little did I know how this one product review would impact my life. I had no clue when I agreed to do this review how this would really change my life.

The review I did was for a product called Plexus Slim. Now I have struggled to lose weight all my life. I have tried many many products and diets out there so I was really skeptical about the fact of whether this product would actually work or not. But I agreed to do the review anyway and be honest about my results. So my friend sent me 9 days worth of the product to try out. Now this is just a drink - a powder that you mix with a bottle of water and take it every day, so of course I was thinking in the back of my mind that there is no way this is going to work lol. The packs she sent me were 3 of the 3 day trial packs that included both the Slim and the Accelerator (which is a pill that you can take too that boosts the weight loss). After 4 days I jumped on the scale expecting to see no change ( so that I could say - "See I told you this wouldn't work") and to my surprise I had lost 4 pounds. After those 4 days I also began to notice a difference in the way I felt in general. I was feeling better, not tired all day long like I had been, was sleeping better and just had an overall feeling of "feeling better".

So on my eight day I jumped back on the scale (fully expecting those 4 pounds to have shown back up lol) and found that I had lost 6 pounds! What? No way, something had to be wrong. There is no way I was drinking basically a bottle of flavored water and and losing weight. So I met with a lady who is on my friends team with this company and by the end of that meeting I was convinced. I was convinced this was the right thing to do for myself health wise. By the time I got home from that meeting (after thinking all the way home about the money she was making) I was convinced that this was the right business for me.

So I started as a Plexus Ambassador the last week in April of 2011. Even though I knew this was the perfect business for me because it goes hand in hand with my passion of helping others, because now I am helping people get healthy and lose weight, I still wasn't sure if I could be successful with this. I have been in other direct sales companies where sure I have earned some money, but not the kind of money that can help me reach my ultimate goal of becoming a full time work at home mom.

When I learned more about the company and that they are still fairly new and hadn't been introduced in all 50 states yet, I knew I needed to take the bull by the horns and run with it. My first check from them (not counting my weekly bonuses for signing on other ambassadors) was $191. My second check from them was $409, My third check from them was over $400. Well then I got to see the amount of money that my friend that I did the product review for is making just since she started this business in Jan of 2011. She is pulling in over $10,000 a month!

Now I know if she can do this so can I. It just feels right. I know this is the best thing to ever happen to myself and my family. Anyone who is a regular reader here knows the struggles that my family has been through over the last 5 years. So having something like this happen to us is a true blessing.

I am now working this business with the attitude that I am successful. I am introducing this company to people who have never heard of it before, I am helping people lose weight that they have never been able to lose before on all the other products and diets that they have tried, and I am helping people who struggle, earn a living. I am truly helping to change people's lives.

I never thought for a minute that doing a product review could impact my life and change it in so many ways. Checking a clock may be as helpful as counting calories when it comes to controlling body weight, a new study suggests.

The study shows that people who snack after 8 p.m. have higher body mass indexes (BMIs) than people who don’t nosh at night, even though they don’t eat significantly more total daily calories.

Previous studies in animals have found that even when calories are held steady, the timing of meals and sleep and exposure to light can impact metabolism and BMI.

The new study is one of the first to explore those relationships in humans.

A Heart Touching Testimony

Linda Forst was recently on our Opportunity Call, and in case you missed it, here is her incredible testimonial!

My name is Linda Forst and I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia over 12 years ago. Up to that time I had been very active. In the early nineties I received my black belt in Taekwondo and even taught some. Three years after that I trained at Arthur Murray Studio in Biloxi, MS to become a dance instructor which became a major part of my life.

In the late nineties I started having such deep bone and muscle pain but I continued dancing and teaching, though fatigue would take over for days sometimes.

To make a long story short, I have been on all kinds of sleep and pain medicine through the years. The last 10 years I’ve been on Ambien, Loritab and Tramadal. That kept me going. I went from four Ultram a day to 8 and that is how I survived – 240 Ultram going thru my body every month. I hated it but I didn’t know what else to do.

I signed up in Plexus at the end of 2010. I was interested in Dr. Spencer’s Breast Cream and didn’t even try their Plexus Slim at first. My husband started losing weight with it and even though I didn’t have much weight to lose, I decided to start taking it.

I cannot tell you when I realized that I was taking less and less of the Ultram, maybe in February of 2011. Then in March I told my husband one night that I couldn’t remember if I had taken my Ultram that day. It scared me; I thought any minute I was going to be seized with pain for going so long without it. I thought it out and realized it had been sometime in the night I must have took it, making it 10 hours since I had any pain medicine! Now, for 8 years I took 2 Ultram every 4 hours, so how did I go that long without the medicine?

I was flabbergasted and my husband and I tried to figure it out. I then realized the only thing I was doing different was drinking one Plexus Slim drink a day. That was the only thing different. I was leery at first, I wouldn’t tell anyone, and surely the pain would come back. As of now, July 2011, I take 2 Ultram a day, 12 hours a part, one in the morning and one at night (by the way, I have not taken any sleep medication or the Loritabs since March either).

Being part of the Plexus family is exciting to say the least. As our CEO, Tarl Robinson mentioned last week, “Plexus is in full momentum... and it is only going to increase with each passing month.”

There’s no doubt that the hardest part of losing weight is staying motivated. Weight loss isn’t something that happens overnight – you need to stick at it if you want to see results. Most people know how to lose weight so the main reason everyone isn’t slim and healthy is that it’s difficult to keep up a weight loss regime for a long period of time. Here are some tips for staying motivated whilst losing weight.

The first thing you need to do is work out why lose weight in the first place. Is it because you want to be generally healthier? Are you worried about the way you look? Is it because there’s an important wedding coming up? Everyone is different and you need to decide why losing weight is important to you personally before working out how to increase your motivation.
The next tip is to work out some long, medium and short term goals. Your long term goal should be the final amount of weight you want to lose. This can be as much as you want as long as you understand it’ll take time to get there. The medium and short term goals should provide you with targets to aim towards in an attempt to reach your final target. Setting smaller targets is a great way of increasing your motivation because it allows you to measure your progress.
Another great way to stay motivated is to have a weight loss partner. If you know someone who wants to lose weight then you can keep each other company while exercising, keep track of what the other is eating and provide support for each other. If you know you have to answer to someone other than yourself it can make a big difference.
Entering a sporting event such as a fun run or bike race will keep you on track when exercising and provide something to work towards. It can be hard to keep exercising on a daily basis if there is no end goal. Just be careful not to aim too high to begin with.
Many people find that keeping a journal of their weight loss efforts can help them to stay motivated. The useful thing about a diary is that if you’re having a bad day you can look back and see how much progress you’ve made. Sometimes it can be difficult to gauge progress through memory alone and a diary solves this problem. You don’t have to write in it every day unless you want to. If you would like to make the most out of a diary then you could even attach photos every few weeks to see the changes in your body shape. There’s nothing more motivational than knowing you’re going to have to see yourself naked on a regular basis!
Also, most people find it easier to get motivated to exercise in the morning. After a long days work nothing seems more appealing than lying down on the sofa watching TV for a few hours. If you never want to exercise after work then try to get up a bit earlier to do a 20 minute cardiovascular workout.
Try to do something every day. Even if it’s only a few press-ups you should keep your momentum going by exercising each and every day.

Ultimately, success and failure when it comes to weight loss depends on your motivation. If you can find a way to keep motivated over a long period of time then you’re well on your way to losing as much weight as you want
