Who Would Win...Iron Man or Batman???

On the opening night of Iron Man, my cohorts & I went to go see the film, and let's just say it blew us out of our seats. I personally thought going into the movie that it may be somewhat underrated in terms of film, since Iron Man doesn't seem to have many fans like that. Not to mention that some of his enemies that were borderline lame. I believe The Yellow Rebel once pondered on the idea of his enemies having somewhat racist implications. Nonetheless, the movie was more than underrated, but a great way to start off the summer movie season. Of course by now with the overzealous viral marketing campaign that is known as the Dark Knight, we all believe that the Dark Knight will be nothing less than spectacular. I'm not so sure anymore, since it's May that I'm writing this and have felt like I've already seen a good chunk of the movie (much like what happened with Spider-Man 3, and we ALL KNOW how that turned out to be...).

So after thinking about how great Iron Man was, and how possibly great The Dark Knight can be, myself and others have thought about not only would which movie end up being better, but also, in an extreme scenario, who would win in a good old fashioned throw down?

In the left corner, we have Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man.
In the right corner, we have Bruce Wayne, also known as Batman.

One has the ability to fly, have jet propulsioned boots on his feet, while the other can't necessarily fly, but more so glide with his memory cloth cape (at least, according to Batman Begins). Iron Man can shoot missiles as well as repel them, whereas Batman has a cool array of gadgetry in his utility belt. They're both billionaire playboys, who not onlt are in charge of their own companies, but also have exquisite houses, and they also have their ways with the women, but have a soft spot for that one special woman. One had a great opening weekend, with obvious talks of a sequel in possibly 2 or 3 years (which more than likely means there will be a trilogy of Iron Man films), and will go onto make $300-$400 million in movie ticket sales, video games, toys, etc. Batman is a billion dollar franchise, with its numerous sequels (excluding of course the infamous Batman & Robin film), and Batman Begins resurrected the franchise, which leads up to The Dark Knight and its viral marketing as well as its trailers; #1, #2, AND #3, and all of the remakes done by fans on Youtube (mind you the first teaser trailer came out in Summer '07).

There's been some debate in terms of who would win in a fight between the two? Personally, I wasn't a huge fan of Iron Man until Q put me onto him, but you can't underestimate Neurotic Neuron's favorite superhero as well.

Props to my man E Sharp for sending me this. As you may have noticed, there has been this constant debate between what the Reverend Jeremiah Wright and his "views" on race. It is sad that a man's legacy is defined by soundbites taken by the media and played over and over again. I can't speak for the other bloggers on this website, but I can say that the man is a validated and credited author, theorist, and pastor. He is widely recognized as such. So the fact that Obama is criticizing him is alarming to me. Again I can't speak for everyone else, but I'm no longer in support of Obama. Neurotic Neuron & I have had this discussion before and after thinking about it, I'd rather have Hillary in office (though I think the G.O.P. is going to win the election). I have more to say on this issue, so check out the vlog response coming soon...

By the way, here is the Q&A session by the Pastor that was on C-Span which I'm sure most of you haven't paid attention to or watched for that matter(because Jay-Z was too busy dissing Deshawn that he couldn't tell you to watch this)...

BTW, the Reverend was on Bill Moyers' program, just in case for the many who needed his statements to be validated by this Eurocentric reporter...

Some Men Just Want to Watch the World Burn...

The 3 detectives who were involved in the Sean Bell murder in 2006, were acquitted in the shooting.

The verdict comes 17 months to the day since the Nov. 25, 2006, shooting of Mr. Bell, 23, and his friends, Joseph Guzman and Trent Benefield, outside the Club Kalua in Jamaica, Queens, hours before Mr. Bell was to be married.

It was delivered in a packed courtroom and was heard by, among others, the slain man’s parents and his fiancée. The seven-week trial, which ended April 14, was heard by Justice Cooperman in State Supreme Court in Queens after the defendants waived their right to a jury, a strategy some lawyers called risky at the time. But it clearly paid off with Friday’s verdict.

Before rendering his verdict, Justice Cooperman ran through a narrative of the evening, and concluded “the police response with respect to each defendant was not found to be criminal.”

“The people have not proved beyond a reasonable doubt” that each defendant was not justified in shooting, he said, before quickly saying the men were not guilty of all of the eight counts, five felonies and three misdemeanors, against them.
