Love this fantasy world and plot that Nalini's imagination has created with a cast of characters so interesting in themselves as to make you wish to read more about them all. The story is not for the weak of stomach, a lot of details is given on the violent acts, not as page fillers but to help understand the mind of those committing the acts also know that there are very sensual and sexy descriptive scenes, so be prepared to experience them.

The possibility is opened in this book for the next chapter as well as the introduction to some of the characters that will definitely have a punch on the following books.

The Story of Us is about a girl named Cricket and we follow the story in her point of view as she encounters many changes in her life all in the course of one week. She has graduated high school and is going to college in the fall. She’s moving from her childhood home, due to her mother’s 4th engagement to a man named Dan, and they are getting married in one week. She’s also leaving behind her longtime boyfriend, who she doesn’t want to break up with but really has no choice.

I must admit as soon as I began reading this story is bored me. I feel as if the author was trying to additionally add the situation of Cricket and her boyfriend, due to Cricket writing emails to him but it just bored me even more. I would have liked for her to have ended that relationship and maybe throw in some broken heart drama and another guy enter the scene but honestly those emails were boring me out of my mind.

All the characters are developed nicely. I liked each character and could actually relate to Cricket’s story. However, the plot just didn’t do it for me. I tried to read page by page but honestly just kept jumping paragraphs to try to get to the end.

Although, this is a story that I did not enjoy, there are great ratings on both Amazon and Goodreads of people loving this story. Please do not get discouraged by my review and not read the book. If it’s something you’re into, by all means, pick up the book!!

I had been waiting for Tohr’s book for a whole year and I was lucky enough to be one of the few that were able to get it signed by The WARDen herself!! I am going to give the WARDen much credit for giving us such an amazing series. I can only imagine how hard it must be to have 10 books out in a series and that they are equally good - although, we all have our favorites. I was captivated from the very beginning and now, after reading the tenth book, I still get all those butterflies like I did after reading the first book. The Black Dagger Brotherhood series is STILL my favorite vampire/love series. Lover Reborn for sure doesn’t fall short.

Lover Reborn is Tohr’s book and I totally fell in love with him – as I do with all the brothers after reading their book (hehe). Tohr has yet to move on after losing his Shellan to the lessers. But the rough, tattooed and pierced guardian angel, Lassiter, has told him that he needs to move on or else his Shellan wouldn’t be able to go to the Fade, but instead, remain in The In Between. Now Tohr has no choice but to put on his big boy pants and try to move on. Next thing he knows, he starts to get close to No’One, Xhex’s mother. They have a long history together and are both equally broken, so it makes since for them to fall for each other. The only thing is he starts to feel guilty because he thinks he is betraying his Shellan, Wellsie, by getting close to No’One. Wrath also has his set of problems. The Band of Bastards are stirring up problems and want to take Wrath’s crown, at all cost.

The WARDen has done it again. Lover Reborn is amazing! I loved that she didn’t just focus on the Tohr, but gave us a little peek as to what all of the other brothers and their Shellans were doing. I am ecstatic to announce that the WARDen has officially announced that the last and final installment is going to be about Quinn and Blay and I couldn’t be any happier. It’s been a long time coming and I cannot wait to see what happens. At first she had mentioned that it was going to be a Novella, but, nope, it has been confirmed that it will be a hardcover installment. The next 11 months are going to be torturous for me, but very much worth the wait.

I have to talk about the cover for Arise. I liked Hereafter's cover but Arise's cover surpassed Hereafter in beauty. The color tones incorporated with the graphics are just beautiful. It truly captures the essence of New Orleans in the cover and still keeps the Ghost theme alive. Tara is one lucky gal that she has such a great team of artist behind her in these covers. I'm sure many authors would love to have that kind of talent for their covers.

This review will be as spoiler free as I can write it for Arise but I can't guaranteed that for Hereafter. I will probably mention or speak about things that took place in Hereafter that if you haven't read the 1st book, you will be spoiled. So you have been warned. Proceed with caution.

Arise continues after the ending of Hereafter. We know Amelia fought with the demons and Eli on High bridge and won. To what extent did she win, well it might not be what her and Joshua think. Amelia is also noticing she is doing things that don't seem normal for her state. How does a ghost dream, if she technically is not sleeping. These dreams are very vivid and really shake her up. Poor Amelia's issues don't end there. She also keeps transporting whenever its get a little to hot and steamy between her and Joshua. She can't control it and its really stressing her out. She begins to question if she is good for Joshua, how will they ever make their relationship work. Doesn't help that they attend a party and Joshua gets caught off guard and gets kissed by a girl from school. Amelia can't do anything about it and even though she is mad it happen, she knows that that is truly what Joshua should have. A real live girlfriend and real live friends.

So while Amelia tries to sort out their relationship and a message that was delivered by someone who she thought she was rid off. Its time for Joshua's family to visit the rest of the family in New Orleans for Christmas. They set off on a road trip which is actually sort of perfect for Amelia. Yes apparently Ghost like Amelia can do road trips in cars. She was told to leave and this seems like a perfect way to try out that idea. She doesn't tell Joshua her full plans, but he can tell she is up to something.

So to make a long review not so long, Amelia will encounter new people and new events that will alter the past 10 years she has been living as a ghost. Will she be able to stay with Joshua, will the demons come back to get her? What is a young ghost suppose to do? Well in Arise Amelia will eventually be introduced to someone who might be able to help or make matters worse for her. This is the part I tell you all you have to READ the book to know what takes place.

Arise will not disappoint, Tara brought more to the table in Arise. One of my favorite things about Arise is that Tara took her story to new Orleans and gave us such vivid details. Its just seems like a great combination to write about: Ghost and New Orleans. They go hand in hand. I have just one teeny tiny complaint and that would be Amelia and her indecision with Joshua. I wanted to scream at her and say Stop already. So maybe that shouldn't be a complaint. It actually just shows how much one gets involved with the storyline. For those new to the series, I strongly suggest you pick Hereafter up and those returing to the series, You will love where Tara takes this next chapter to. I can't wait until Elegy comes out next year.

With the loss of several young lives in the accident, most of the town blames Miranda because she was steering at the time. They are all suspicious as to how she survived. I just found that part of the story a little ridiculous. Every adult on the Island is on the same page and blame the accident on her. No one has any sympathy for the poor girl, who has just lost friends too.

She survived the accident because she was actually saved by a merman named Christian. He was breaking rules by surfacing and he was so drawn to her that he couldn’t stop himself from saving her. And only her. I found Christian’s character to be very one dimensional. As much as I tried to like him, I just didn’t connect with him at all throughout the story. As he and Miranda got to know each other and I suppose fell in love, I felt no sparks through the storyline. There wasn’t a significant moment for me where the characters evolved and I desired to know more about them.

The one thing I did like about “Wrecked” was the cover. The photo of Miranda and Christian surrounded by silvery splashes of water and the bright blue title was what drew me into wanting to read it. It’s very eye-catching. I simply wish the characters were a little more developed and like able, so that I could give the story a higher rating. Unless you just have some time to kill and want something light to read, I wouldn’t recommend this book.

Surrender did what its called. It surrender me to its story. I was crossing my fingers that when I began reading the sequel in this series, that it would hold up to the greatness that Possession was. I think Elana with me doesn't have to worry about disappointing with this tale. Back to back 5 tree reviews are not a bad thing to have. Also again I will mention how much I love the covers in this series. So simple, yet so meaningful!

Surrender continues were Possession sort of left off but here comes the twist. We are not following Vi and Jag story, we are now following Raine and Gunner. I don't know which pair I love more. The problems are the same for them as they were for Vi and Jag. Probably worse, since Vi and Jag are under the control of the Freedom. Vi especially is not who we fell in love with, she is like a vegetable. Raine has been assigned to have Vi as her roommate and report any changes that Vi shows. See Raine's father is the head honcho behind Freedom. Of course what Daddy doesn't know, won't hurt him right? Raine is involved in the resistance and has recruited Gunner to the mix. They both have very special abilities that are like having pure gold in your hands. Raine's mission is to go against what daddy dear thinks is right. What can happen when you have two matched people that are being pulled together and away from their matches? Some highly upset people which include their matches and Daddy dearest.

Their is so much non-stop action packed twist and turns throughout Surrender, that you might need to call a time out. Its a book you won't be able to put down until the last word is read. Elana has the gift of writing so the reader is sucked in to her books. What a world Elana has created, from the scenery to the profound characters. You just have no reason to not be entertained by this series. I will give a warning, be prepared for a bad-ass ending. Its one heck of a cliffhanger.

As a fan of Alyson Noel's Immortals series, I jumped at the chance to
read this book. I really enjoyed the journey the characters took in the
Immortals series and was excited to embark on a new adventure with new
characters and a whole new world.

The cover of this book is absolutely stunning. There is a beautiful
girl with long, flowing, dark hair fanning out across the bottom of the
page, on a purple background with ravens and crows flying all around

the title and author's name. I just love it!!

We are introduced to Daire and her mom, Jennika, in this book and it
begins with a punch. Most books tend to lead up to the action, but this
had bits of action interspersed throughout the book, starting right in
the first few chapters. What a way to grab one's attention! The real
action begins, though, once Daire meets Dace, the boy of her dreams
(literally!!) and tried to acclimate to a new life in Enchantment, New
Mexico. She makes a few friends, and even a few frenemies, but the best
part is her relationship with her grandmother. I loved the scenes
between Daire and her grandmother! I also enjoyed the scenes between
Daire and her mom, though the two seemed more like sisters than mother
and daughter.

Daire goes from being very transient to finding a place that she wants
to call home. She goes from feeling like a freak who sees visions and
spirits to some one who has some pretty unique (and very cool) gifts. I
like the magick in this story and the connections to Native American
stories of spirit animals. She is a very strong character who doesn't
back down easily.

This book has it all-magick, spookiness, cute boys, a little romance,
danger, fun and light-hearted moments, some mystery, and there's even
good/evil twins (cute ones, too!) What more can you ask for?

I am very intrigued by this new world that Alyson has created, and I
cannot wait to read more about Daire and her friends in the future.

This story is incredible I recommend it to all high schools girls. Especially the ones mentioned in this book. What a refreshingly amazing book. Again the cover is my favorite part since again I can picture the girl whose point of view i’m reading from as the girl in the cover. Have I mentioned how I love that!

The story is about three best friends, Bea, Neerja and Gigi who have been inseparable since Kindergarten. These girls are smart and have accomplished a lot academically only being in Tenth grade. They study hard, get good grades and are all in AP classes. But all that changes when Neerja’s sister is accepted to Princeton and it’s Neerja’s job to pack up all her belongings. When she finds her sister’s yearbook under her bed after Parad stated that she hadn’t received it, she looks inside and is shocked by what she finds, or in Parad’s case doesn’t find. This brings on a whole new perspective in the girls life as they have always looked up to Parad for being so intelligent.

This story teaches a lot of positive lessons and I loved reading about the girls and was disappointed when the story ended. I wanted to continue reading. I hope the author writes about all the others years in high school and the struggles these girls find to make it to their dream college. It’s a must read for all high school students, girls and boys alike. The characters in this story were amazingly developed and you will fall in love with each and everyone of them. Especially these girls! They are so different among each other but together they bring out the best in each other and I loved that. A strong bond among these three friends that no boy will break and it’s not something you see now-a-days.

We view the story in Gigi’s point of view. She’s a smart, chic and afraid of public speaking. That’s until she’s in the run for Student Body Rep due to a misunderstanding that can only be overwritten if she runs. But she has to go against the new gorgeous guy at school named Will.
Bea is this strong willed, smart mouthed overachiever who is in line to becoming an attorney like the rest of her family. After a ski accident that almost killed her brother, her parents banned skiing from the entire family, including Bea, whose a phenomenal skier. She is convinced to try out for the ski team at school and with the help of her friends, she breaks the news to her family but will they agree or disagree? Then there’s Neerja. She’s best friends with her extremely smart but dorky neighbor, Henry. She’s in love with Justin and has been for a while now but has not had to courage to tell him. That’s until Romeo and Juliet play starting casting actors. Nerrja’s dream was to be Juliet and Justin play Romeo but when she freaks out in the auditions, she lands the role of a prompter and she lands Justin as well. Neerja is as happy as she can be, she’s dating the guy she’s in love with and is set out to be the best prompter she can be. But when she sees that her relationship with Justin isn’t intellectual or exciting as she expects it to be, she’s drawn to a whole new guy who she never believed she would have fallen for.

What I loved most about this story is how Gigi went out of her way to do things with her best friends. After Bea decided it wasn’t a good idea to join the team, Gigi told her that she would join the team with her, although she hasn’t skied in years. When Neerja decided to audition for the play, Gigi told her that she would join the play with her, although Gigi is terrified of speaking publicly. Now that’s a true friend! It’s amazing how the author was able to capture these three girls and write a story that not only captivates you from the very beginning to the very end but also teaches a lesson in trust, loyalty and friendship.

I high recommend this story to EVERYONE!

Once Upon a Book Signing!

Today on Once Upon a Signing, Ana from our team shares with us when she went to E.L. James signing in Coral Gables, Fl. Then after you read all about it, check out her review for the Fifty Shades series.

E.L. James was in Miami at the Books & Books store in Coral Gables a few weeks ago and I had the pleasure of meeting her. I know, how lucky am I? LOL She was speaking at the Biltmore Hotel that evening and it was completely sold out. Needless to say, I was completely bummed. But luckily, Books & Books decided to have her come in the morning for a book signing. I arrived at Books & Books at 9:00 A.M. and there was already about 40 ladies in front of me. We waited until 11:00 A.M. and then the line moved pretty quickly. I was carrying a total of 12 books, yeah 12 books, to get signed. I was really nervous since they were telling everyone that she was only personalizing 1 book per person. Dee and Yara had ordered theirs over the phone a few days before, so I HAD to get them signed and personalized for them. I was lucky enough to have met some wonderful ladies there that offered to take a couple of books for me so I wouldn’t look like a complete "E.L. Groupie" or a crazy fan. LOL I had one of the girls take a few pictures for me. I hope you enjoy them.

Oh my, oh my, how am I going to make this review PG? LOL I know everyone is talking about this series and how wonderful and hot it is. Well, they are not lying. It really is awesome and HOTT….REALLY HOTT!!

Christian Grey is a hot, over controlling, sexy, self-made billionaire who unfortunately has some mommy issues. Anastasia or Ana, which I prefer her being called Ana, since it makes me feel like the story is about me (wink wink). Ana is a 21 year old girl who is about to graduate from college and is asked by her best friend to interview Christian Grey. Little did they both know that that interview would turn their world upside down. Anastasia is introduced to a new world and quite frankly, will freak her out, but at the same time, intrigue her and will make feelings come out that she never experienced before. You truly feel the love and pain that this couple feel throughout the books. There were times when I cried and laughed, but there were some moments that really, really broke my heart. It was really heartbreaking to see what poor Christian went through as a child.

If you haven't read this series, I STRONGLY suggest you do. Although it should only be read by adults as it has strong sexual content. I would love for E L James to come out with a book with Christian's POV. I want to know exactly what he was thinking the whole time. E.L. James gave us at the end of book 3, a little peek at what he was thinking when Ana was interviewing him, but it left me wanting MORE. Oh Fifty, my fifty shades. What am I going to do now that I finished reading the series?? (Sad face)
