Sanjay Dutt leaving his home…

Actor Sanjay Dutt finally surrendered before the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (TADA) court in Mumbai today to complete his five-year prison sentence for his part in the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts that killed 257 people and injured 700 more. Dutt’s wife, sister and brother-in-law accompanied the 53-year-old actor to court as hundreds of fans crowded the street, hoping to get a glimpse of the much-beloved Bollywood star.

At the court hearing, Dutt’s lawyer Rizwan Merchant petitioned the court for his client to be allowed to have a mattress, fan, medicine, home-cooked food and an electronic cigarette. The judge immediately denied the electronic cigarette, instead advising Dutt to quit smoking. The other items were granted for one month. Dutt will have to apply to prison authorities like everyone else for an extension of the granted amenities. Pics of the actor’s surrender below.

Nicolas Cage, John Cusack, 50 Cent and Vanessa Hudgens star in The Frozen Ground, a crime thriller based on a true story.

Halcombe (Nicolas Cage) sets out to end the murderous rampage of Robert Hansen (John Cusack), a serial killer who has silently stalked the streets of Anchorage for more than 13 years. As the bodies of Anchorage women start to add up, Sgt. Halcombe goes on a personal manhunt to find the killer. When 17-year-old Cindy Paulson (Vanessa Hudgens) escapes Hansen’s unspeakable violence, she believes the law will take him down. Instead she finds herself, once again, fighting for her life. With his only ally, Cindy Paulson, Sgt. Halcombe is determined to bring a serial killer to justice.

The Frozen Ground hits theatres in August 2013. I’ll keep you posted.

Before I sign off…Nicolas Cage and Hayden Christensen are expected to begin shooting the upcoming China-U.S. co-production Outcast (Zui Hou De Zhan Zheng / 最后的战争) later this year. No word yet on the Chinese cast for the film. Definitely more deets to come. I’ll keep you posted.

GACKT will release his seventh and eighth best albums, THE BEST OF THE BEST vol.1 -WILD- and THE BEST OF THE BEST vol.1 -MILD- on July 3th, one day before his 40th birthday. Both albums will also be available in a box set titled BEST OF THE BEST vol. 1 M/W.

No word yet on the track listing. However, the albums will feature his latest songs Sakura, Chiru (サクラ、散ル) and Claymore, the theme song for the Japanese version of the movie Silent Hill: Revelation 3D.

In serious legal news…

A 27-year-old woman is accusing GACKT of sexually abusing her in 2011, according to the May 13th issue of FLASH magazine. GACKT quickly denounced the article, stating that the assault never occurred and he intents to sue for defamation against the magazine’s publisher, Kobunsha. More info to come. I’ll keep you posted.

Looks like Leehom Wang and Tang Wei will play siblings in Michael Mann’s upcoming untitled cyber thriller, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The two actors starred in Ang Lee‘s 2007 award-winning film Lust, Caution.

Actor Chris Hemsworth will headline the picture with Tang Wei as his love interest. Viola Davis has also joined the cast.

Parts of the film will take place in Hong Kong. Production is schedule to begin next month. More info to come. I’ll keep you posted.
