Described as “PostSecret for the ears” by Paste Magazine, One Hello World is a collection of voicemails set to their own soundtrack created by an anonymous composer. Callers from across the world participate by dialing One Hello World’s voicemail and sharing their story. The result is a musical compilation giving listeners a cross-section of the human experience. With the help of a successful Kickstarter project, a 30-track debut album, The Listener is set to be released in late March.

ANNOUNCING the track list of One Hello World's debut album, "The Listener":

With the help of Kickstarter backers, I’ve drawn upon the past year and half of One Hello World to compile this humble blog’s 30-track debut album, “The Listener”. The collection of recordings explores a broad range of experiences, reaching across the world (with voicemails from abroad) and addressing unique perspectives regarding controversial issues. It chronicles viewpoints on the assassination of Osama bin Laden, the failure of the Dream Act and the struggles of Occupy Wall Street. It also presents deeply personal accounts of daily life, with a caller recounting the joys of fatherhood and another the pain of losing a brother to suicide. There’s love, love lost and discovering yourself - all with their own soundtrack.

The cut ended up featuring some of my personal favorites. I hope you find it has some of yours, too. Here’s a sample:

How Do I Gain Self-confidence?

I feel like the people who are OK with going into a night and not knowing what’s going happen, and knowing where they’re going to end up, and who they’re going to be with, how they’re getting home, what time they’re going to be home… all those things. I feel like they don’t care about those questions because they just know they’re going to be ok. Because they have self confidence maybe. Now that I know I don’t have self confidence, how do I change that?

Don’t worry about being “normal” - be yourself. Also, know that many people struggle with having confidence in themselves (I know I do sometimes). Thanks for calling.
