The first town in Jamaica to be developed specifically as a resort, OCHO RIOS abounds with duty-free stores, fast-food chains, bars, clubs and visitor-oriented restaurants. Local culture takes a back seat to the tourist trappings, so this isn't the place to get an authentic flavour of Jamaica. It's not the best choice for the classic Caribbean beach holiday either – the town's strip of hotel-lined sand can't compete with the beaches of Negril and Montego Bay, and the club and bar scenes are less vibrant. Nonetheless, the nightlife is improving, and Ochi compensates for its deficiencies with a certain neon energy.

Dunn's River Falls is a famous waterfall near Ocho Rios, Jamaica and a major Caribbean tourist attraction that attracts thousands of visitors each year..

About 1,000 feet (300 m) high, the waterfalls are terraced like giant stair steps. Several small lagoons are interspersed among the vertical sections of the falls.

Jamaica is home to the world's two fastest men Asafa Powell and Usain Bolt. These two men have both broken the world record in the 100m and 200m on numerous occasions taking it from 9.77 to 9.58 and 19.31 to 19.19 respectively .

Asafa Powell C.D (born November 23, 1982) is a Jamaican sprinter who specialises in the 100 metres. He held the 100 m world recordbetween June 2005 and May 2008, with times of 9.77 and 9.74 seconds respectively. Powell has consistently broken the 10-second barrier in competition, with his personal best of 9.72 s being the fourth fastest time in the history of the event.

Powell competed in the 100 m at the 2004 Athens Olympics and the 2008 Beijing Olympics but failed to convert his success to the world stage, finishing fifth both times. However, he won a gold medal and set the world and Olympic record in the 4 × 100 metres relay with the Jamaican team in Beijing. At the 2007 Osaka World Championships he won a bronze and a silver medal in the 100 m and 4 x 100 m relay respectively and he has been successful at the Commonwealth Games, winning two gold and one silver medal. At the 2009 World Championship he again achieved a Bronze medal in the 100 m and Gold in the 4 x 100 m. Powell has won at the IAAF World Athletics Final five times and is the 100 m record holder for the event.

Usain St. Leo Bolt, OJ, C.D. (pronounced /juːˈseɪn/ born 21 August 1986), is a Jamaican sprinter and a three-time Olympic gold medalist. He holds the world record for the 100 metres, the 200 metres and, along with his teammates, the 4x100 metres relay. He also holds the Olympic record for all three of these races. At the 2008 Summer Olympics, Bolt became the first man to win three sprinting events at a single Olympics since Carl Lewis in 1984, and the first man to set world records in all three at a single Olympics. In 2009 he became the first man to hold the 100 and 200 m world and Olympic titles at the same time.

Montego Bay is Jamaica's second city and has been a tourist Mecca since the 20s when early visitors sought out the healing waters of Doctor's Cave Beach. From the days when ''King Sugar' ruled, Montego Bay has been a bustling commercial centre and shipping port.

The resort of today is spread out from Rose Hall Great House in the east to Tryall in the west, with a choice of accommodation from guest houses to convention facilities.

The resort town of Montego Bay is as far from the 'real' Jamaica as you can get, though behind the narrow coastal plain is hill country where you can immerse yourself in mountain-village life. The region boasts a greater concentration of well-preserved colonial houses than any other, many of which are working plantations that welcomes guests on guided tours. And several championship golf courses, a number of horse stables and the island's best shopping add to the region's appeal.

There are two Montego Bays, the tourist quarter, north of the town center, arcs along Gloucester Avenue, a narrow shoreline boulevard lined with hotels, restaurants, and public beaches. Glouchester Avenue becomes Kent Avenue, which stretches along what used to be called Chaltam Sea Wall and ends at tiny Dead End Beach, with the airport just beyond.
