Still Looking for the next trade

Hey everyone!

Just a quick note to let you know I'm still here waiting for the next trade to come in. Things have been happening which is why I haven't been around. I'll be pushing hard for the trades so stay tuned! OneLuckyCent.com is still kicking!

Our last trade was the 2 - two Canadian dollars and a toonie and one lucky cent.

Do you have something you want to trade?

Sure you do. Look around. I'm sure you can find something. Maybe you won some tickets to Avril Lavigne and want my 2+2+2+1 so bad you're willing to part with them. Or maybe you have seasons tickets to the Blue Bombers up coming season and you're willing to trade for my special currency.

Or maybe you're on the other side of the World and you want to send 100 euros for this Canadian money because it looks so cool and you'll be able to bring friends over to look at it. Maybe even charge admission.

1 Year Anniversary of One Lucky Cent

It all started 1 Year Ago today with the original One Lucky Cent. The original plan of sending the One Lucky Cent around the World didn't work out too well. There were numerous Lucky Cents just waiting to be found though and the New Trade Up plan was launched.

The first trade came exactly 6 months after the start of the original plan. Michael and his family traded One Lucky Loonie for my One Lucky Cent. They also included a very nice surprise. The second trade came just a few weeks later when Jeff Johnson from Minneapolis, Minnesota traded his One Lucky US Greenback Dollar, One Lucky US Dollar Coin and Jeff also decided to throw in One Lucky US Cent for extra good luck in exchange for my Loonie. The third trade came just as fast as the second one. Chris, who just happens to be from my city of Winnipeg, traded One Canada 1954 Issue 2 Dollars Note, One Canada 1986 Issue 2 Dollars Note, One Canada 2 Dollars Coin (also known as a Toonie) and Chris threw in One Lucky Cent, just like Jeff did, which he also found on the ground in exchange for the One Lucky US Greenback Dollar, One Lucky US Dollar Coin and One Lucky US Cent.

So here we are one year and three trades later. We may not have traded up to a house in one year like Kyle at OneRedPaperclip did but we took One Lucky Cent that we found on the ground and increased it by 60,000%. We have met a few great people along the way which means more that what we're trading up for. If the journey ended today with me reaching a house or whatever I traded up for I'm sure I'd have mixed feelings. It's exciting to not know what's going to happen at any given time. I waited 6 months for the first trade and then the next two trades came within weeks.

Maybe we'll have another burst of trades 6 months after the first trade came after 6 months from the start date. Who knows what is going to happen but I'm looking forward to the journey. With one year and three trades gone by on this journey I'm looking forward to seeing how this all plays out for One Lucky Cent!

Still Here... Still Trading

I know there haven't been updates for a long time but things happen in life and I just want you all to know I am ok. I am going to step up my attempts to find some trades, which we have been stuck at trade #3 for awhile now, and hopefully get this thing rolling along. The 1 year anniversary is coming up on the 15th. Kyle at OneRedPaperClip has his 1 Year anniversary of getting a house tomorrow on the 12th. WOW! Time flies! It feels like just yesterday that I was finding my One Lucky Cent and then finding out about Kyle the following day. Kyle is going to be unveiling the World's Largest Red paperclip in Kipling Saskatchewan tomorrow. Maybe one day I can unveil the World's Largest Lucky Cent!

So just know I'm ok and still looking to trade which started with One Lucky Cent I found on the ground and traded up to One Canada 1954 Issue 2 Dollars Note, One Canada 1986 Issue 2 Dollars Note, One Canada 2 Dollars Coin (also known as a Toonie) and One Lucky Cent.

New Game Site Name - FunCityGames.info

I figured it would be somewhat easier for people to remember and it's something I should have done from the start. With people using the links for their websites and MySpace comments etc. I changed the links in the blogs already although the old links still work. You don't have to go back and edit your posts or comments, but start using the new links. You might want to change the links on your main pages though.

The games are being played quite a bit now and I hope you're all having fun with them. I hope you all agree naming the game site was the thing to do.

My Third Trade has come faster than I thought it would and once again it has gone the way of the currency trade.

I'm happy to announce I have traded the One US Paper Dollar, One US Coin Dollar and One Lucky US Cent to Chris, who just happens to be from my city of Winnipeg, for One Canada 1954 Issue 2 Dollars Note, One Canada 1986 Issue 2 Dollars Note, One Canada 2 Dollars Coin (also known as a Toonie) and Chris threw in One Lucky Cent, just like Jeff did, which he also found on the ground.

2 + 2 + 2 + 1 = My Third Trade - WOOHOO!!!!

These 2 Paper - Two Dollars Notes are not printed by the Bank of Canada anymore. So I'm assuming, even though I'm not an expert, that these might be somewhat rare. I thank you again Chris for this generous trade. The Toonie is the coin that replaced the 2 Dollar bill in Canada.

Chris said he found his One Lucky Cent, also on the ground and decided just like Jeff to include it in the trade. Maybe Jeff started a trend there. What's cool about that One Lucky Cent Chris found is that it has the same date that my One Lucky Cent has. YES! 1962! Is that cool or what? Is 1962 the year of the lost Lucky Cents?

I'm so excited as things seem like they may be taking off here and I have no idea which way this journey is going to take me. It has taken the currency road but I will consider trading for any item or items you may have. I can't wait to see what the next trade will be. Who wants to trade?

TheOneLuckyPennyGuy.com (no it's not me...I'm OneLuckyCent.com remember) is Todd and he started after I started my OneLuckyCent site but he has already traded up to a Winnebago. He is now selling advertising to put on Winnie the Winnebago so he can make a dream of his a reality. He wants to drive down and meet Jay Leno. 2nd Trade - One Lucky Loonie Flying South

With my first trade coming 6 months after I started the One Lucky Cent site, it didn't take quite as long for my second trade.

The One Lucky Loonie I traded my One Lucky Cent for, will be flying south to Minneapolis, Minnesota to Jeff Johnson in exchange for One Lucky US Greenback Dollar, One Lucky US Dollar Coin and Jeff also decided to throw in One Lucky US Cent for extra good luck.

With that, one found canadian cent trades up to one found US dollar, one found US dollar coin and one found US cent. At today's exchange rate that's 2.37690 CAD. But these are not your regular US paper dollar, US coin Dollar and US cent. These are now part of the One Lucky Cent journey. One Lucky Cent has gone from being found on the ground to being traded for One Lucky Loonie to being traded for One Lucky US Greenback Paper Dollar, One Lucky US Sacagawea Dollar Coin and Jeff wanted to include One Lucky US Cent coin.

It seems we are on a currency type trading journey although I didn't plan for it to be. Trade offers can be for anything, but it seems the Lucky Currency is becoming the item of choice for traders here.

This trading journey has now left Canadian soil and gone American. The One Lucky Loonie is flying south this winter and going to escape the frigid temperatures of Winnipeg and go to the somewhat less frigid temperatures of Minneapolis. (Don't tell the Loonie it's not Florida)

A Little History on Lucky Loonies

With my first trade being for a Lucky Loonie I thought I'd give those that don't know a little history about when the term Lucky Loonie caught on.

One Lucky Loonie coin was secretly buried in the ice and helped Team Canada win hockey gold at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ever since then, Lucky Loonies have been used to get that extra bit of luck to win. I feel my One Lucky Cent and the One Lucky Loonie I traded for have that special kind of luck.

The Royal Canadian Mint even has it's own LuckyLoonie.ca website. Will the next trader want to use the OneLuckyLoonie.com name? We'll soon find out...

My First Trade - One Lucky Loonie - 6 Months from Start

Well, exactly 6 months after I started this quest with One Lucky Cent that I found, my first trade has been made, sort of. I'll explain the sort of in a second.

I was contacted a couple weeks ago by a gentleman who wanted to trade for my One Lucky Cent. He offered me a Loonie, which is a Canadian Dollar Coin for those that don't know. When I started this I didn't know what I wanted to trade for so I thought why not and told him where to send it. As I waited for it to arrive I'll admit I even thought he wasn't going to send it. But he had another surprise for me. I just opened today's mail awhile ago and in addition to the loonie, the surprise I didn't expect at all was revealed...

Enclosed along with the Loonie was a $50 bill with a letter that stated the following....

Dear Andrew,
Please find enclosed the loonie I promised to trade you for your one lucky cent. I have decided it would be a good idea if the lucky cent remained in your possession for the time being. I only ask that when you are successful in whatever it is you are trading up to, you will then auction off the one lucky cent on my behalf and send the proceeds to the Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.
Which leads me to the $50.00 I've also enclosed. I read your blog about your quest. My wife and I think it's such a wonderful thing you want to do. I want you to add the money to your total and if you can, please post information about the foundation, as well as a link to their website.
Before we moved to Alberta, my wife, kids and I lived in Winnipeg and one of our children spent some time in the Children's Hospital. The staff took great care of our baby and went out of their way to keep us comfortable when we were there. Your house for mom website has that mother (or father) child bond that my wife and I can relate to.
Hopefully, our little contribution helps you in your quest and that you'll be able to trade up our loonie for something else in your trading quest. Like you mentioned it might even be a Lucky Loonie. Good luck in your quests!

The day after I started .... is when I came across OneRedPaperClip and I decided to do OneLuckyCent. It was interesting because the day after I started ... was the day Kyle got a house. -37.6 Celcius with -48C Windchill. What's a Windchill you ask...

Well it's finally starting to feel like Winterpeg in Winnipeg. At lunch time today the temperature was -32 C. Yes that's MINUS 32 CELCIUS. Although that's not as cold as it was in the morning...-37.6 C. The arctic chill has finally found us here after we were spoiled with some milder temperatures so far this winter. But it get's even better...LOL

The windchill wasn't registering at noon but it was -48 C in the morning with the forecast calling for -40. What's a windchill you ask? Well it's what it feels like outside when you have wind blowing. It makes it feel colder...

At high windchills your skin could freeze in minutes. -50 and colder your exposed skin freezes in less than 2 minutes. Sounds like fun eh? Nice crisp clean Arctic air...ahhhhhhhhhhh. lol

It was even warmer way up north in Churchill, Thompson and The Pas. Even the Polar Bears have nicer weather than us. I think I want to go take a trip up north. Take a ride on the Tundra Buggy and visit the Polar Bears. That sure looks like fun.

Well and least it's clear and the Sun is out. We have the best of both seasons. In summer the temperatures can get around +35 C and in Winter, as you can see, they can get feeling like close to -50 C.

I may get some weird looks here but I actually like this cold weather. Have a great day!

Yes, I have registered OneLuckyCent.com so it's easier to remember for those that want to keep track of things. You just need to go to www.OneLuckyCent.com and you'll be directed to here. I was waiting to do this until I had a trade or was on my way to one...Stay tuned...

It'll be 6 months in a few days since I started this, but it's not how long it takes...It's the journey to get there and the people you meet.

As you can see, I have added the menu bar at the top along with starting the trading path to make it easier to follow the trades when they happen.

Where will this journey will take the One Lucky Cent? Only time will tell.

One Lucky Cent II - A New Plan - Let's Trade

Ok... the original One Lucky Cent has gone AWOL. I think he took off with his Loonie friend and maybe a nickel and dime or two. Soooo...I am changing it up a bit. Well...I have to change it up as the One Lucky Cent traveling the world just wasn't meant to be.

It seems if you look down on the ground though, you can find many, many Lucky Cents just waiting to be found. Waiting to jump into a pocket party of change. I have found a willing replacement for our One Lucky Cent mascot...

A 1962 Canada Penny has stepped into the spotlight and has become One Lucky Cent.

Now you're probably asking yourself what could I possibly have planned for this One Lucky Cent? Well since I sent the original off to Kyle from OneRedPaperClip.com I have decided to go on the trading up adventure like Kyle did with his Paperclip traded up to a house. Maybe that should have been the original plan in the first place.

So here we are I have One Lucky Cent. I want to trade this One Lucky Cent. What do you want to trade me for my One Lucky Cent?

I don't know what my ultimate final trade will be.

So let the trades begin...

I checked Kyles blog and I find out he is back in Montreal so One Lucky Cent might have to spend a little time in that little envelope. I sent it off to Kipling, Saskatchewan THIS MORNING... :o

Oooooops...I guess I didn't think that one through too well and just jumped right in without making sure the pool was full. Kyle even posted YESTERDAY that they were back in Montreal.

Well the journey will either be put on hold in Kipling or One Lucky Cent gets to go to Montreal. Home of the Habs! Boy do I miss Guy Lafleur!

That's what life is all about! Unexpected turns and curves. Just gotta wait it out and see what happens. Still hope Kyle is OK with this whole thing...Um...Kyle? Are you OK with this? :-)

Maybe you can just trade the One Lucky Cent up for some sense for me.

Ok...I'm technically typing to myself as I'm not sure if or when anyone will be reading this...LOL

One Lucky Cent

So I figured out what to do with the "One Lucky Cent" I found. I know I called it the Lucky Penny before, but that name was chosen already.

I want to send it traveling around the World spreading it's luck to all of YOU.

When it arrives at the various destinations, I ask that whoever is hosting my One Lucky Cent to show it a good time by taking around your city or town. Just be careful not to leave him too close to any Loonies (Canadian dollar coins). He thinks they are literally LOONY. Please take a picture or two and post the links to where you have them hosted so I can post them on here. Or if you have the means to do so a video would be most awesome.

I was going to just wait for people to request the penny be sent to them but I decided to start the journey right away.

I am going to be sending my "One Lucky Cent" to Kyle from http://oneredpaperclip.blogspot.com/

I will ask him to take a picture holding the One Lucky Cent in front of his newly aquired house if he would be so kind.

I then hope Kyle will find someone else to send the One Lucky Cent onto it's next destination and so on and so on until the One Lucky Cent has travel the world spreading it's luck.

Feel free to come live vicariously through the One Lucky Cent as his travels take him to where we all want to go....Maybe the Galapagos Islands, New York New York, Castles of England, or maybe even the Moon.
