This year has been truly eventful. I started college for the first time as a single mom of two girls and my oldest daughter started dance class for the first time. I feel like I am always on the run with so much to do. It is hard for me to take the time to just sit and be with my kids. This winter really forced me to sit down and take a break, because of all the snow days. One day in particular it snowed and snowed and continued to snow so much we new that the next few days we would be stuck in the house. Instead of being bummed out we made the best of it. We had decided to go all out with breakfast, lunch and dinner even making a special dessert each night. To mix things up we laid out blankets on the floor and had a picnic in the living room floor, catching up on some much needed mommy/daughter time. My girls and I had a blast. During our times away from eating I made home made play dough and we let our imaginations go wild with crafting things out of the dough. They spent hours creating "food" and pretend feeding each other.

I am in the market for a juicer. I have been wanting to incorporate drinking freshly home made juices full of vitamins and minerals into my daily diet. Warmer weather where are you?? I know we are all ready for this weather to be swimming conducive and when it does finally hit I will be so prepared with my new favorite swimsuit. I chose the higher waist tummy tuck bottoms, if you look really close the Hapari logo is on the backside and again I think its a really cute detail.

True story, I had just bought a suit from another place and after getting it home and trying it on I was so completely sad about how the top fit. The lack of bra support was depressing to say the least and I ended up returning it for full refund. When I got my Hapari Swimsuit I felt alive again. I have never had such a supportive bra top in a swimsuit and am thrilled to know I can show off my shape instead of being squished in a flattening swimsuit. This swimsuit is a true to size fit.

Megan over at Cattle and Cupcakes here. I am a water bottle ADDICT. I kid you not. My cupboards are overflowing with water bottles that I've abused to the point of breakage. Believe it or not, I've broken a Nalgene bottle, ran over a Kleen Kanteen, and cracked an unholy number of those double-walled water bottles. I've never found "The Perfect" water bottle. What's more-it doesn't have some ugly gas station branding or other irritating slogan slapped across it. The container is GINORMOUS and I only have to refill it once or twice a day. The Pros and Cons of Laser Eye Surgery If you are tiring of wearing contact lenses or eyeglasses, the obvious step would be to undertake laser eye surgery. This type of surgery has been available since 1989 and thousands of people worldwide have undergone laser eye surgery. This surgery is very expensive and there are many things to take into consideration before going under the laser. The surgery involves reshaping the cornea to overcome defects that cause eyesight problems. A lot of people think that their eyeglass wearing days will be over after surgery but unfortunately, that is not always the case.

Dry eyes

Serious dry eye syndrome affects many people after laser eye surgery. This will necessitate the use of artificial tears such as REFRESH eye drops several times during the day and night. Some patients will need to do this for the rest of their lives. People who suffer from dry eye should not have laser eye surgery.

Light halos

You may experience halos of light, sensitivity to glare and blurred or double vision after surgery.

A small number of people have found no improvement in their vision. Post-operative problems can occur because of the actual structure of the eye. Hanging this on my daughters wall was a breeze. I grabbed a hook and hung it up then plugged it in to the outlet which happens to be right below the spot I wanted to place it.

This picture, while super light, is a little thicker than normal pictures but with the image carrying around the sides it really looks great from all angles.

The switch is on the side and can be simply switched on or off for illumination. Simple. This picture stays cool to the touch so there are no worries of it getting hot and hurting my kids or my house.

This image was taken after my girls went to sleep. As you can see the entire image lights up from behind offering a beautiful glow in the room and almost makes the picture come to life.

Here is the angled view to show you that the image lights up on the front only, the sides do not light up.

I did not wire this through my walls so the cord does show, however you can easily hide the cord allowing for a sleeker look to this, almost like magic.

Spring is here!! Well, it has peaked in and out a few times since the actual calendar said it was springtime. Either way, we love being outside playing and exploring all day so we are totally ready when the weather wants to warm up. The latest spring and summer collection is out and they added some really adorable styles for all ages for both boys and girls. I got the really cute Flex Minnie in Lilac. I picked these out for my kiddo because they have protection from gravel and wood chips because they are enclosed, yet they have a lot of airflow because they have spaces of mesh allowing her feet to not be so sweaty.

These Flex Minnie Lilac pedipeds are a great shoe for spring/summer weather and are adorable with dresses, shorts and pants. The Velcro closure allows for the perfect fit. My little girls feet are a little smaller than this shoe and she can still wear them without having them fall off because of how they are made.

The bottoms of these shoes are great for non slip and while they feel like they have a lot of cushion they are not thick and bulky. They are also bendable so I am not afraid of them being a tripping hazard.

Wow these shoes look so small in my hands. Anyway, the violet color is so pretty and add a great pop to all her clothes. I can't wait get to summer because I know getting her in these shoes will not be a struggle. In fact, she wears them around the house all the time and never wants to take them off. Now, that is a true test to a good shoe if I must say.

Out of Print Clothing Review

One thing I want to instill in my girls is having a sense of self. Having their own style is part of creating who they are and when I came across Out of Print Clothing I fell in love with their shirts. This company combines my families love of reading with allowing them to express their own style in a t-shirt that not everyone has. These comfy tee's are soft and super adorable. My girls love the Olivia books, so they picked out my oldest daughters shirt we got for review.

I love the adorable tag that came on this shirt. It looks like an old library check out card. It reminded me of being a little girl, waiting in line at the library and having to write my name on the card and having them stamp the to be returned date on the card. Perfect touch of nostalgia for sure.

I can really tell that Out of Print Clothing care about their customers experience with this added detail and it will make me go back and refer my friends and family to shop there.

A shirt I am going to order my 2 year old is the Harold and the Purple Crayon tee. I loved this book as a kid and remember being in preschool my teacher read it, I had such an imagination I could see Harold's drawings come to life in the story.

While I don't have issues with my girls coloring all over the walls, the spirit of Harold lies within my 2 year old so this would be very fitting on her.

Sometimes getting my kids into their car seat is a hassle. I came across these adorable and fun toddler seats that I know my little girl would be so excited to get into, check them out HERE. Easter S'mores: Super Easy, Super Yummy

It is snowing in spring. I know I am not the only one having to deal with this weather but it has me singing the blues waiting for the warmer weather. So, what do I decide to do while I am stuck inside? Make Easter S'mores of course.

What you will need:
Graham Crackers
Hershey's Chocolate Bar
Easter Bunny Marshmallows

Layer a piece of chocolate onto 1 half of the Graham Cracker

Top with 4 Marshmallows

Top with other half of Graham Cracker

Microwave for 15 seconds and watch the Marshmallows grow

Smoosh together just a little bit and let cool for just a minute. Then eat up!

My 2 year old took a little longer to eat hers, her marshmallow got a little hardened, I tasted it and it tasted like a lucky charms marshmallow. It was yummy to say the least. :)

Tip: Grab the wet wipes! because this is a very ooey gooey treat.

Want To Lose Weight? Read This!!

I have posted a few times about my recent weight loss success. I am now at over 90 pounds lost, with no gimmicks, fad diets or starvation. I eat right, I eat healthy and I have incorporated working out in my life.

I grew up as the fat kid. I recall shoving myself in a sweats outfit in the 2nd grade and having the shirt roll up on my belly because I was chunky, to say the least. I never new that water was for drinking, and drinking lots of it was good for you. Needless to say, the idea that people worked out regularly never hit my radar. I thought working out was for gym class only.

Diets have been a word in my family, not one that was used in the positive tone and the act of dieting never stuck around for long. It was always some gimmicky Slim Fast or carb free "lose weight fast" deals. I think the idea that I would lose 30 pounds in 30 days was thrilling, yet daunting. When 30 days passed and the weight and starvation stayed around, I was completely let down and felt like a failure. I really believed that my pant size would always be in the high teens, dare I say twenties and the scale wouldn't budge far from 200 lbs if at all.

Last year, after months away from my very stressful relationship and making positive changes in my mental health and life, I needed to change one more thing for me. My weight. I was driving down the street and felt a fat roll on the side of my back rubbing against the seat in an irritating way, as if to say "Hey Fatty!" I was mortified with myself. I was tired of wearing jeans all summer and feeling glutinous and tired all the time.

After trying an entirely carb free diet. Eating all meats and cheeses, even creating delicious super low carb recipes (low carb mousse and carb free pancakes) I felt terrible and lost nothing. I was at my wits end. I did try the HCG diet. 500 calories per day, with very, very limited food options and lost 25 pounds in 60 days. It was a great kick start to my dieting however I gained 5+ pounds back once I was done. After this diet, I was not sure how I should be eating and I started quickly gaining weight again.

With nowhere to go my mother and I started using the My Fitness Pal app and have not turned away. We log in everything that goes into our mouths and stay within our target allowance calories. That's it. With the availability of this tool being right in the palm of my hands, I have had no excuse.

Yes, there are times where I want to eat everything in front of me. Sometimes I feel like I do, but I get right back at it the next day. This is NOT a diet. This is a life long way of living and eating healthy. I enjoy food more now than ever because I can actually taste the ingredients. I have had a blast coming up with different versions of the glutinous meals, seeing how many calories I can save on these foods is fun for me.

If you are really tired of being overweight than make a conscious decision to do something. Often I get asked "How are you doing this?" I tell them, and they move on. No life changes, feeling like it is not for them or it is too hard. When, the truth is, it is NOT hard. Once I saw how many calories was in the fast food and restaurant foods I was eating I was totally shocked. I could not be ignorant to what I was eating anymore!

What are my suggestions for you to lose weight successfully?

Start on a day other than Monday. The idea that starting on Monday because it's the first day of the week is a bad idea. It will change everything if you create a different start date. It's getting in the mindset to say "this is going to be a life change, I will start any day because this will be my way of living, forever."

Realize that this is absolutely not a diet. If you think of losing weight as a fast process that will be short term, than you are setting yourself up for failure. You will have days that you will over eat, it's inevitable. If you already plan that it's a lifelong change you won't feel defeated and will be able to get back on plan the next day (hopefully).

Understand that you will need to change your eating habits. Obviously. This is one that people forget and it causes them to lose the battle of weight loss. Yes, eating healthier tastes a little different, but I promise once you stop eating fast food all the time you will not even like the smell of it. Stop making excuses like "I am always on the road" or "people are bringing food to work all the time." Plan your meals, really. Quickly as telling my My Fitness Pal app what you are going to eat and actually taking it with you to work, on the road everywhere. *Kind of like back in the good ole days where there weren't fast food joints everywhere.

Last quick starting tip. Drink water. Yes, I know you have heard this before but you really need to drink water. Maybe start with using water flavors but really, you will not want to keep using water flavors. Not only do they have aspartame or artificial sweeteners in them but they will cause you to retain water and essentially not lose weight. Once you drink more water than all other things you WILL lose weight!
