Drawing cartoon animals is easy once you understand that these drawings are simplified versions of real life art and if you don’t draw in too much detail then you can really create a good Cartoon drawing.

The ideas presented in this video below is just one idea of many possible ways to draw a cartoon cat, but I hope that you find it fun and inspirational to learn to draw and have fun sketching it.

I sketched this with a popper pencil then inked it with a gel ink pen and then colored the Cartoon cat with some Crayola Twistable Pencils which are cheap for any artist.

At breakfast, my family comes running if I announce we’re having pancakes. Eggs? Not so much, but they really do need some healthy protein and good fat to give them the best start to their day. Don’t get me wrong. We do eat eggs for breakfast, quite often, in fact, and I regularly include homemade sausage in omelets, scrambled eggs, and Quiche, but I really want the days when we eat pancakes to count as well, instead of filling their bodies with sugar, simple carbs, and very little nutrients.
So, I took the pancake recipe from my Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook, and turned it on its ear. The best part? My kids liked these pancakes so well that they didn’t mind them being a little different. These pancakes do have a slightly grainier texture than regular pancakes, but they make up for it in taste. You might be able to avoid some of the grainy texture if you use blanched almond flour, which is made from almonds after their skins have been removed.

Ingredients:
1 cup whole wheat flour (consider using whole white wheat for a lighter texture and flavor)
1 cup almond flour
2 Tbsp. coconut palm sugar (or a few drops of liquid Stevia, to taste)
2 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. sea salt
2 beaten eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
¼ cup grapeseed oil (olive oil works fine, too)
2 cups unsweetened almond milk (more or less, depending on how thick you want your pancakes)

Directions:
Combine all of the dry ingredients in a large bowl. Combine all of the wet ingredients, except the almond milk, in a separate bowl. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, then begin pouring in the almond milk, adding enough to give you desired consistency of pancake batter.
Pour batter onto a griddle or skillet lightly greased and set at medium heat. When pancakes start to bubble on the surface and cook around the edges, flip them. Cook for another minute or two, then flip onto a plate.

Tip: If your kids don’t like the difference in these pancakes, consider starting out using 2 cups of the flour you normally use, then gradually begin substituting almond and whole wheat flours, substituting just a little more each time, until they grow accustomed to the taste. They may not even notice a difference, if you go slowly enough!

Tip: If you can’t find almond flour at a decent price, consider tossing some almonds into your food processor and grinding them up yourself.

Online there are many places you can buy art pens to draw with. which are usually called ink pens and like many other artist products or equipment you can buy some proper professional ink pens for drawing or the cheaper ones that are still okay for drawing and sketching with.

In fact Amazon have links to other art stores through their popular online shopping portal page such as DickBlick which is a popular art materials stockist based in the US that stocks all of the top Artists equipment with brand names such as Prismacolor, Windsor and Newton and Derwent to name a few.

My personal favorite ink pens if you are going to look at a brand is these Pitt Artists drawing pens which are very cheap and they have special pens of all different colors and types, so they are worth checking out.

Draw a Troll’s head in two easy to follow steps or at the very least they may inspire you if you think that this is advanced stuff. A good Troll drawing is one that makes the face look like it’s been in many battles and just cool looking. Usually green in color and with huge spikey bottom teeth that stick out from a protruding lower lip.

Here we will go through two drawing videos which will show or demonstrate how to draw a classic fantasy Troll head from the pencil sketch stage right through the inking stage of the head drawing.

The first video is the sketching stage as you can see, we have to plan with some construction lines first to see if everything is going to work as a workable design. I use mechanical pencils a lot as they don’t need sharpening, just simply re-loading with new lead which seems to last longer than having to sharpen a regular pencil.

When you start to draw the beginning pencil lines it’s usually a good idea to start with the top of the head first and work your way down through the features sketching lightly as you go. The eyes and the mouth are often the most important features so plan them well and any areas that you want to recede like under the eyes and cheek bones, then you can add shading to them parts.

Watch the video and either follow along or practice drawing some faces first….

Click here to view the embedded video.

The second video deals with the inking process and can be quite straight forward depending on what ink pens you use. I use gel ink pens
mainly as they are cheap and you can buy more of them than the expensive ones and they are disposable too. The inking process is more than simply going over the pencil lines it is about trying to advance the drawing and improve upon it with more added details and darker more clearer shadows and line work.

You can start to ink anyway you want with the drawing, just remember that the ink can be laid down in a cross hatch way with parallel lines or you can ink shadowed areas with an almost sketchy type of constrasting shadow which definitely looks good against the white spaces left by the paper.

Watch the second drawing video on inking your Troll face and just have fun.

Ink Artists Stamp Pads

Ink stamp pads come in many forms of ink stamps, but really they are for kids and the range of different ink stamps available have some great stamp designs on them, so that kids can have hours of fun stamping these ink designs on paper.

Some are fairly basic, to the more complex designs, which have to be pressed in the ink pad provided quite hard to retain a decent amount of ink, from cartoon animal designs to other kids favourite designs you can usually buy sets of good quality ink stamps for less to decorate any art projects that you may do with your kids or the children that you teach.

The ink pads hold a lot of ink and there are some ink stamps that have ink refills, so that the pads don’t run dry, but then the cost of these cheap ink stamps mean you can buy a few throwaway packs too, which last a few weeks at least, perfectly timed for those school holidays when they could get bored whilst sat in the house on a rainy day.

I remember as a kid being fascinated with a simple day, month and year ink stamp pad and stamping the date just about anywhere at school, thankfully most of it can be washed off walls and even clothes, just check the stamps details.

On Amazon for instance, they have many kids art stamps that could be of interest to the young artists of the future, it also provides a quick fire use of the easiest print making technique there is with the ink art stamps and they could progress onto other print techniques later on at high school or even college, being creative starts at school!

The Caisa drum was one of the first, and is now one of the most popular, Hang drum alternative HandPans available, for those who are left wanting in their search to own a PANArt Hang drum. Or at least, that’s how it was at the beginning. Because while the Caisa drum, produced by Bill Brown of Kaisos Steel Drums in Germany, may once have been seen as a poor mans Hang drum, in the early days of its existence, the Caisa, is now increasingly being seen as an instrument very much with its own merits, and not just a convenient and more readily available substitute for the Hang, when none are available.

Named after a Trinidad carnival chant, the word “Caisa!’ is used to show appreciation for a well delivered ‘Calypso’, a style of Afro-Caribean music, and the Caisa drum was originally nicknamed ‘the Mushroom’, due to the long wooden horn that protruded from the base of early generation Caisa. Later generation Caisa drum however have done away with this protruding horn-like apendage, and are now available in a variety of styles, from a very PANArt Hang looking model, through to a newer generation that Caisa that boasts a look very much its own, featuring a series of small holes cut circular around the tonal zones, and lacking the Hang’s ‘Gu’, the round resonating opening on the underneath of the lower dome.

The Caisa drum as standard features between nine and twelve notes, is constructed from high-quality steel, comes in a blue-metallic color, has a diameter of 58-60cm, and weighs approximately 6 Kilos. However, Bill Brown, and Kaisos Steel Drums, over and above any other handpans manufacturer, have striven to push their creation, not just in terms of perfecting their instruments singing voice, but also its look, and design, to meet the desires of their ever growing fan-base. Which has not only led to their experimenting with various metallic and colored finishes, but has also led to such breakthroughs as the ‘Caisa Backpac’, a smaller, more portable version of the Caisa drum, specifically designed to meet the needs of buskers and travellers.

The expense of installing Schedule 40 pipe is cheaper than many other types of piping that you may be considering using, and it is maintenance free. The pipe and the fittings that you will need for installation do not rust or corrode, and the extremely smooth interior walls resist any kind of buildup of deposits. Once you have put it in the ground or through the walls, you will never have to think of it again. It is an amazingly durable and wonderful product.
Installation is such a simple process with Schedule 40 pipe that you will probably wonder why you never tried it before. The pipe is easy to cut with a simple pipe cutter that you can keep handy in your pocket. Give it a few twists around the pipe and the cut is made. To make sure that you prevent the possibility of leaks, you will want to perform some standard procedures that ensure that there are no leaks in the joints.
To join a length of pipe to a fitting successfully, you will need to make sure that there are no burrs left on the pipe from the cut that you made simply by wiping it down with a cloth. The clear cleaner that you get with the pipe is used on all parts of the pipe that come into contact with each other. The glue is applied in the same manner, with a special turn to make sure that it covers the entire surface of the matching parts completely. Water pressure is capable of finding even the tiniest hole that is not covered by glue, and that will lead to a leak eventually.
The many attributes of this pipe make it well worth your consideration. Once you have tried it, no other type of pipe installation will begin to satisfy you. Give it a try for a job that is easy to do neatly and in a short amount of time. You owe it to yourself to give Schedule 40 pipe a try for your next job.

Sweating is not only embarrassing for the sufferer but is very difficult to control. The only way to hide the sweat is to wear heavy clothing which of course increases the effects of the sweating.

Of course, there are many things that you can do to ease the perspiration without resorting to medication .. For instance, regular washing is an excellent way as much of the body odor is actually caused by bacteria in the sweat so cleanliness is important.

Deodorants are a good idea naturally although some of these can react with clothing and leave nast yellow stains on the armpits of the clothing so try to make sure that you use as natural deodorant if at all possible.

Whilst there are medications that will ease the sweating, don’t forget that sweating serves a purpose of cooling down the body and failure to cool the body can on occasions have serious consequences so medication should be used only as a last resort if possible.

Apart from washing, you can also ease the symptoms by eating a healthy diet with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and of course drinking plenty of water which will dilute the odorous effects and flush toxins from your body too.

If nerves and anxiety cause you to perspire heavily then avoid these situations where possible. Where is it not possible, you may want to consider relaxation techniques such as meditation or relaxation tapes perhaps. Another tip that really helps is to wear natural material clothing such as cotton and avoid polyester and the likes. Also ensure that your clothing is loose fitting as this allows the air to circulate around the body which helps to keep it cool and therefore gives less cause for sweating.

So, although you may not be able to entirely eliminate your perspiration, it should be possible to significantly reduce the symptoms of it. Naturally, if your symptoms are severe, it is advisable to visit your doctor for further advice.

An artist collaboration on a monthly theme on YouTube is a fun promotion that is good for artists as we can share each others videos and comment or share them around the internet further. The very idea of a collaboration is not new but it’s an excellent way of networking through a very large community such as the second largest search engine which is YouTube.

And such a collaboration will only grow if the artists that join play their part and support each other creating an effective collaborative promotion of all of our work combined. There is a drawing video collaboration going on right now and here are the current players in the collaboration for artists.
